Health › Re: My Thoughts About Nigeria Medical Doctors. by Jascon4: 12:09pm On Sep 02, 2018 |
MissJoy29: You have made some valid points.
I know it's not the fault of the doctor that the hospitals are under staffed and they have to see a lot of patients than they can handle but it's also certainly not the fault of the patients and it won't be fair to take out the frustrations on them even though I know the tendency to do that is there. The doctor is there to make the patient feel better not worse.
Btw, you want to report a medical doctor? To whom? The hospital management? Where will you even find them because it's likely no one will point the "management" to you as they want to protect their own. Even if they do, what will happen? This is Nigeria for goodness sake!
Again, the time spent with doctors that I'm talking about is not gisting time. You don't need the whole day to explain to the patient what is wrong, the causes, prevention and subsequently, treatment. I have the right to that information as a patient & anything other than that is unprofessional. Some nurses don't even know the name of the injection they are giving you. You ask, they ask you why you didn't ask the doctor. You get the chance to ask the doctor, they ask you why you want to know. Isn't the most important thing getting healed? Like seriously!
I want us to be objective here. My post wasn't made to attack anyone. It's to find out why things are the way they are.
The ones that are in our power to do, let's do it well. Thank you. From your first post down the line till this one, you made a truck load of sense. I couldn't agree more. All the instances that you have enumerated here are ugly experiences that I have had from our supposed professional caregivers, both Doctors and Nurses. It is like a highly contagious disease that has affected the majority of Nigerian doctors/Nurses practicing in Nigeria. Do not pay heed to those saying otherwise, they mostly lack objectivity and are not in any way at the receiving end of this anomaly. |

MrBrownJay1: let me guess.... they are not allow to go to the toilet or have food either, and MUST work for 8hrs (or more) non stop without a break abi?!? if that was remotely the case then no wonder these people are losing their goddam mind and putting all their frustration on law-abiding Nigerians.
sadly, the reality is that smokers will smoke, whether it is during their lunch break, toilet break or any other time they will find.
as much as we hate these guys, let us try to be honest with ourselves. You probably don't get it. They can eat anything they want on their break, however, drinking and smoking are prohibited while they are on duty. |
Politics › Re: SARS Officer Smoking In Port-Harcourt During Election While On Duty. Photos by Jascon4: 7:22am On Aug 19, 2018 |
MrBrownJay1: ask yourself this simple question:"if a police officer is a smoker, can he have a smoke break during his work or not? and if yes, cant that picture be such smoke break (or is it a requirement that a police officer MUST take his uniform off before lighting a ciggy during such smoke break)?" There is nothing like 'smoke break' in the law guiding the NPF. Officers are not permitted to do that while on duty. |
Politics › Re: SARS Officer Smoking In Port-Harcourt During Election While On Duty. Photos by Jascon4: 5:14pm On Aug 18, 2018 |
MrBrownJay1: is smoking against the law now?!
as much as we all agree that these people are evil, they shouldnt smoke and/or even take a rest from their duties?! maybe the next picture would be one of a SARS taking a shiit?! lol! I think the law forbids officers of the NPF and other security agencies from drinking and perhaps smoking while on duty. It does not portray the force in good light when officers are seen drinking and smoking with their uniform on while on duty. Sadly, it is a common trend across the country. I witness this anomaly every other day. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Can Pentecostal Churches Make Offerings Optional Like Jehovah's Witnesses? by Jascon4: 3:49pm On Jul 29, 2018 |
Themandator: Whether you do not doesn't change what the Bible has to say about tithe and offering..... God's opinion is always the same but he, through the Holy Spirit, is ever ready to denounce your interpretation of his word.....
Jesus personally supervised the collection of offering not free will donations ... He saw a poor old widow put money into the offerings box and didn't return it to her neither did he give her more money...that should tell you that nobody is exempted from giving to the course of the kingdom...how it ends up being used it of no concern to you.....whatever name you called it while giving it is what God records it as.... Gen 2:19.......see Luke 21:1-4
Jesus did not forbid the new Church from tithe. The church he met when he was on earth had teachers, scribes and the rest...no levites but yet they were paying tithes and making a show of it that he, Jesus had to teach them the kingdom order for giving. He did not stop tithe..... See Matt 23:23.... Tithe is received by men but is acknowledged by God in heaven....Heb 7:8 I have zero intention of engaging you in offering or tithe debate. I only meant to correct a misinformation from the poster I first quoted. For clearer picture and understanding of the subject which you chose to dabble, I would suggest you carry out a deeper and broader biblical research and be open minded, the truth isn't far fetched afterall. |

deepwater: They have a huge work force base in every country of their operation.
Here in Nigeria, they operate from Igieduma in Edo State otherwise referred to as Bethel.
In there , they have thousands of volunteers in different discipline to assist in every aspect they may require. They are skilled, semi skilled and so like that. With such volunteers for free, you may wish to agree that funds would be just a minor faction to erecting structures. And yes they don't pay salaries to their volunteers(as they always say) but they have other volunteers that do the cooking, another that do the farming and another that does just about any other thing. It's like a system of government where you trade in barter by helping some group do what your group can and the other groups help your group whey they can. That way money becomes almost insignificant.

nairavsdollars: I attended the church of Jehovah's Witnesses and i noticed they don't compel people to pay Tithes and Offerings like most Pentecostal churches.
All they have is a box where any willing attendee is free to drop whatever he or she desires. No POS, no long sermon, no threat on giving like most Pentecostal churches. Jesus Christ never forced people to give and Christians are meant to emulate Christ.
I don’t like their doctrines but on this i am impressed. They don't do Tithe or offering, you need to correct that impression. The boxes are there only for voluntary contribution |

Education › Re: Sex For Mark: "OAU Female Student Should Stop Playing The Victim" - Man Says by Jascon4: 11:56am On Apr 10, 2018 |
Mires: Agreed! It's so unfortunate what the society has turned into these days more especially in this era where social network has adversely affected students academic performance.
I am not here to exonerate the prof but if the truth must be told, every human has different level of resistance to crime, be it sexual pervasion or the rest. Indeed, the prof is a human and none of us could attest his level of resistance. We can only boast of our own and not even that of our compatriots, colleagues or brothers. As an insider in academic environ, I want to categorically say that most of the sexual pervasion on our campuses are initiated by female students who either want to have sex with male lecturers for marks, fame or money. Unfortunately, lecturers are hardly disposed with money to the point of leveraging it on sex.
During my NYSC several years ago when I was for the first time to officially be assigned courses to lecture both HND and ND students, as if I knew before what I was about to faced then, I decided that I must maintain my integrity and etiquette on the job. It wasn't only shocking but I couldn't still believe how some of the female students approached me on the premise of ready to do anything for marks. I could recall one of them insulting me when I said "No". She even reminded me the day my mother gave birth to me. That I shouldn't feel as Mr Lecturer. That I am a common corper wee. Lol. Sincerely, I couldn't wait for the NYSC year to be over to leave that Polytechnic. I saw a different academic environment in relation to where I was trained.
Today, when I look at the rate at which nepotism has taken the order of the day in employment of young academics in our universities and polytechnics in relation to some wayward girls on our campuses, I weep for our country.. Nice. You said you weren't trying to exonerate the professor, but your narrative says otherwise. The man in question had two choices, indulging his inordinate desire and simply saying NO. Saying NO, would not cause him any bodily pains or any form of suffering to justify the ease at which he embraced such practice. I ask again, if saying yes had come with the death penalty, would he have said yes? This further buttresses my point, that it was a matter of choice and he deliberately wanted to do it. There is nothing to blame but himself. |

Evidence1000: Fine! It is wrong but would they put sugar in your mouth only for you to reject it? You see, it's not everyone that has the strength to withstand temptations. This excuse or defense or whatever you may choose to call it is too flimsy. So if sleeping with a female student carried the death penalty, would he not most likely summon the will to reject it? In effect you are saying that if you were in the same position you would take pleasure in sleeping with female students to award them marks simply because it is sweet like sugar and u cannot reject sugar? There are millions of other sugar in the cities and immediate environment, so why must it be a student that you tutor? Everyone have the capacity to say no to this, except they simply choose not to. It is a matter of choice, not necessarily strength. |

Whether she made the proposal is not the issue. The point is, a professor got easily enticed and gave in to the perverted and immoral desire to sleep with a student whom he is supposed to mentor, counsel, guide and tutor. It is just unequivocally wrong. |

Romance › Re: Why Ladies Love Guys Who Have Cars by Jascon4: 11:51pm On Mar 13, 2018 |
revontuli: Something I will never understand. If they date guys solely for their cars and wealth, and not have a care for good character and personality, that guy will dump them for someone younger or prettier. It's stupid to depend on a man for cars and money. I worked hard and bought my own car, always had my own car and my own money. Why don't these girls think of developing some skills that will make them money? They could learn valuable skills on the internet, Khan academy lectures are free, Stanford published a lot of free lecture videos on software development, the greatest treasure is the knowledge and skills you learn. You can lose your car, house, all the money in a disaster, but you can earn it all back with the valuable skills. A lady should seek a life partner to grow old together, someone with shared interests and good character, someone loyal and caring, a decent companion to walk the journey of life together. Quality of character and loyalty is not measured with the car you drive and worldly possessions. Impressive |
