Eviana: Those are not facts sir. "Punishable" yet has that stopped the reality of practicinv homosexuals there? I'll answer--Not in the least bit. What you have is more homosexuals hiding and living deceptive lifestyles in Nigeria and trying to find a way to flee... You would never be able to get an accurate percentage of homosexuals there because they would all deny it due to the law. That is the only difference.
What is the "African way"? Cause, with all due respect, I am not impressed. Before we go into the "African way, " I would like to ask you a question : Which society has the highest number of recorded homosexuals: the African society or the western society? |

[s] ratiken: You are wrong. A lot of well trained and well behaved kids of Nigerian descent dot the landscape of USA.
Unfortunately despite the supposed moral superiority you uphold for Nigeria, the average Nigerian is extremely corrupt and ready to defraud in one breath. [/s] This is generalizing. Kindly prove it with facts and figures. |

Eviana: I would be lying if I said that NO ONE has ever spoken towards me in a vulgar manner... What I said was never the amount of angry and un-provoked name-calling abuse had I ever experienced till I came to Nairaland. Vulgarity is rampant in the U.S....along with many other vices. My heart sinks for the children of this century. I would NEVER want a child of mine to ever be exposed...which is why it would be my responsibility as a parent to do as best as possible to shield them and provide alternatives to what the culture is offering.
See beating up or burning kids physically is not the answer either. Nigeria seems to also have an equal amount of vulgarity and perverse language. Are you shielding your kids from this site? Tons of vulgarity, nudity, abusive language here... ...and you think the US government will allow you raise your child in the standards you desire abi? Hahahaha...please do not deceive yourself. The US government and its society dictate the standard to you. And if you run contrary to those standards, your child will be taken away from you and given to a foster home. So summary, you cannot raise your child according to your own standards over there. But over here, you can do that. Peace |

[s] bjdon: Just because you have access to the internet, does not mean you are obliged to post and display your ignorance to the whole world.
Fact Number 1: The overwhelming majority of people in the US and Europe are not homosexual. Fact Number2: There are loads of homosexuals in Nigeria, how come the so called 'African Way' has not prevented it? Fact Number3: Were all the current rulers in Nigeria not brought up in the so called 'African Way' how has it benefit us?
We produce nothing of any economic substance in Africa. Our raw materials are brought by other nations for a pittance, converted into value added products and resold to us at massive mark ups. How come our 'African way' education has not been able to equip us with the tools to be active economic players on the global stage?
We have scant regard for the rule of law. Life has virtually no value across the land, how has our 'African Way' education helped to resolve/prevent any of these negative realities?
A little less arrogance/Ignorance will go a long way. [/s] This lengthy post full bias thinking , which are in no way factual. Whether you choose to accept it or not, here are the facts of the matter 1. The act of homosexuality in Nigeria is a punishable offense by law. Therefore, the number of homosexuals here are fewer in number when compared to western societies where homosexuality is upheld by law, hence multiplying the number homosexuals in those societies. 2. In every society , there are criminals and no society is free from criminals. And this same analogy can be applied to homosexuals in every society So for you to say the "African way " has not prevented homosexuals from multiplying , is like saying the police have not completely stop crime in society. Which is practically impossible. 3. Corruption is the cause of Nigeria's problem, not the "African way. |

Eviana: You can't be serious at the bolded
Honestly, I have been called more "vulgar" names (ashawo, olosho, jezebellic-demon, evening newspaper, fool, mad woman, idiot, stupid, dumb etc.) and seen more homosexual "joints/hook-ups/hang-outs" on this here Nairaland than in my entire life in the U.S.! I've had more scams (identity theft, false accusations, lies etc.) played on me on Nairaland than ever in my life. I have had lovely "alleged curses" called on me for no reason other than the kid disagreed with my viewpoint. Never seen such cruelty, bullying and filth in my life. I have been shocked to say the least.
I'm not gonna call my country "superior" to any one else's, however, there are a million more opportunities here than in developing countries (including Nigeria)...and that is simply and plainly a "fact".
So, I'm wondering what the "African way" in raising children revolves around, cause if the majority of Nairaland (youth and young adults) is any indication/evidence of that, I thank the Lord for my "western rearing". So in the US where you dwell , you have not been abused by anyone, right? Or what about the language and vulgarity being used over there...is that something you would want to pass on to your children? Please answer me |

That reknown robotics engineer, foreign Nigerian The girl that got offers from different ivy league schools, foreign Nigerian The girl that wrote the book flesh and blood ( cant remembered the exact name)
On the other hand lets talk of the popular Niggerian youths and what Niggerian youths love
Bobrisky James Brown Okiemute Denrele Hushpuppi 'Dem go flog me tire' girl Awawa boys One million boys Cultists Youths gang raping girls Any BBN ( soft porn) contestant Pastor Suleiman Can you name one foreign Nigerian cross dresseer as popular as the first three I mentioned? Bros do not be deceived. The Nigerians in the diaspora that making us proud are not even aware that they are Nigerians; it is our dumb newspapers that keep saying they are Nigerians . Infact, if you were to ask them personally, they would tell you they are citizens of their host country. So let us get that straight. Lastly, the Nigerians that you mentioned are only doing the rubbish that they are doing because of foreign influence through social media. And you cannot use that as a yardstick to speak bad of Nigerian youths. |

OfoIgbo: There will be no state of emergency because the governors will still be firmly in control of your one Naijiria. Only that ESN will be sodomising those that raped Obigbo girls. Basically just the same way there is no state of emergency in Borno or Yobe, even though Boko Haram is very active in both states. Zulum is still running things in Borno, and there is no danger of state of emergency.
Military and Police checkpoints are in the crosshairs, and personnel manning those checkpoints will be bushmeat, when it all starts.
37 Days to go There is a marginalization in Nigeria and you think this government will let you and the ESN get away with what is happening in Borno ? Hahaha...I pity you! You will receive a real shock. The only thing I see you people doing when that time comes to scream to the UN. Of which they will turn deaf ears to. |

OfoIgbo: * YAWN *
Watch and see how the police and army will drastically reduce the checkpoints by a factor of 10 to 1.
They will then opt to maintain just a few checkpoints each of which will be manned by up to 100 men at arms. That still wont work, as ESN will be picking them off, one by one.
The military and police patrols will also drastically reduce, as those caught could have their heads cut off, with their families never knowing what happens to the heads of their loved ones.
If you want, don't try and bring those that raped those innocent girls to justice. You will see how wicked people are treated shortly. Rapists, extortionists, murderers in uniform will soon get their comeuppance.
37 days to go. Try it and see state of emergency in your vicinity. Shebi ESN is more powerful than government forces abi? No worry, make una try am...na cry go be una second name. |

SecretPerv: So which of all the things you wear edify the life of God in you, does your wrist watch edify the life of God in you, or your shoes... Alaye, not everything is meant to have a link to your faith. Waist beads are fashion accessories just like wrist watched and anklets and neck chains and it is originally African.. Now, if someone decided to jazz up theirs, na dem sabi. Now for folks that don't believe in Jazz, saying waist beads are for jazz will be like saying any other item is jazzed up.. They will just call it BS. Then those that believe in jazz, will believe waist beads are fetish and shit.. To each his/her own. Let me ask you a question : Smoking of cigarettes is not written in bible but should someone who calls upon the name of the Lord smoke? Answer me. |
Fashion › Re: The Truth Behind Wearing Of Waist Beads By Women (Photos) by Jashub: 8:15am On Mar 01, 2021 |
theOGN: Hi Jashub, So I've been reading through your comments and would like to point out something. You haven't justified your point about waist beads being "unchristian-like." Yes, it is stated in the Bible, thou shall not kill, and I think there's also a place that speaks of homosexuality. But where in the Bible can we find, thou shall not put on waist beads? Pinning waist beads to religion isn't justifiable, however, if you argue that you find them irresponsible, I'm not sure why tho, then you're entitled to your opinion. Everything doesn't have to be about religion. There are so many things people count that I'm pretty much sure God doesn't even bother with. For instance, I once read from a Christian leaflet that watching football is a sin.
Anyways, waist beads are beautiful just like other bodily accessories. I'm sure some persons wear it without any spiritual or fetish undertones. Please why should I try and justify the wearing of an item that does not edify the life of God in me? Once something does not edify is not worth having. And for you to ask for biblical references shows you are trying to justify yourself into wear such. |
