Igbo people should not be incited to violence. It is unfortunate that Igbos are used as pawns but let us lie low. I can now see that that a big dead rat is stinking. Don't fall for it.

If anything, Nigerians as a collective whole should face our corrupt leaders and hold them to task.

This divide and rule strategy has always been applied to Nigerians right from it's inception to it's peak in 1966/1967
when Northerners were goaded to strike Igbos. I really think that those in power have it in their best interest to have us turn on each other while they reap the spoils. External and internal forces know that ethnic bigotry is Nigeria's weakness. Add to this the unfortunate history of Biafran war in the country and you have a nice recipe for disaster in this scenario - they think they know the right buttons to push but no one should let them.

Let us be play smart and unite as country to challenge our leaders as well as the stories that are being fed to us.

Be wise, guys.
Thank you ma sister. Please, talk to them!!! Tell them not to be ISOLATED, the game plan is obvious!!! I just posted a topic to show that Yorubas along with their Igbo counterparts are also being killed! We are one in the South!

QUIT ORDER: Boko Haram kills 30 southerners

By Emma Amaize and Umar Yusuf, Yola

The Boko Haram Islamic sect has made good its threat to attack Southerners living in the North as no fewer than 20 people from both the Igbo and Yoruba extractions were murdered in Mubi, Adamawa State between Thursday night and yesterday.

Eight other people, including six Christian worshippers, were killed and several others wounded in a Deeper Life Church in Gombe State just as an 80 year- old father, Musa Darkuwa and his son, Usman were killed in Maiduguri, capital of Borno State on Thursday night, bringing the number of those killed by suspected members of the sect in the two states within the period to about 30.

Wife of the Pastor Johnson Jauro of the Deeper Life Church was among those killed in the attack, even as two other victims in the state were killed in a hotel in the metropolis.Governor Ibrahaim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe has always expressed shock over the mayhem unleashed on the Deeper Life Church.

The governor who visited the church yesterday in company of the State CAN Chairman, Reverend Abare Kalla, and many other state dignitaries, directed security agents to fish out the perpetrators of the crime, noting that the development was alien to Gombe.

In Delta State, the police also confirmed that five people, including two policemen; an Assistant Superintendent and Inspector were killed by armed robbers in military camouflage. The others were a couple and their salesgirl in a jewellery shop in Warri.

Also, in what looked like a reprisal attack over the killings of Southerners by Boko Haram, enraged youths numbering about 2000 and armed with axes, cutlasses and other dangerous weapons yesterday went on rampage in Sapele, sacking and inflicting injuries on about 50 Muslims at the Hausa Quarters in the local government.

A purported spokesman for Islamist sect Boko Haram claimed responsibility for a Christmas Day explosion near a church outside the Nigerian capital on December 25, 2011. "We are responsible for all the attacks in the past few days, including today's bombing of the church in Madalla," Abul Qaqa told AFP by phone. "We will continue to launch such attacks throughout the north in the next few days." AFP PHOTO

Two mosques were torched during the crises, as the Chief Imam of Sapele Central Mosque, Alhaji Mohammed Usman condemned the incident. Two persons suspected to have carried out the attacks were however arrested by the police in Sapele.

Saturday Vanguard gathered that the killing in Mubi started Thursday night when gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram killed three southerners.

It was learnt that while relatives of those killed the previous day gathered yesterday to discuss modalities for conveying their corpses to their respective states for burials, the same gunmen swooped on them and started shooting sporadically killing 12 people on the spot and wounding over 30 others, thus bringing the number of those killed in Mubi alone to 15.

Those wounded were said to be receiving treatment in various hospitals in the state. An Information Officer in Mubi told Saturday Vanguard that tension was seriously mounting in the town as Igbo traders had closed their shops in solidarity with their slain colleagues. He said attempts by the Igbo to retaliate the killings of their kits and kins was being hampered by the heavy security presence in the town.

However, Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo who visited the church in company of the State CAN Chairman, Reverend Abare Kalla and many other state dignitaries, directed security agents to make sure that they fish out the perpetrators of the crime and the cause which he said was alien to Gombe.

The Governor who condemned the attack of a place of worship and the killing of worshippers however stated that the incident has challenged the government to step up measures for the continued peaceful co-existence of the people in the state, even as he tasked the people to henceforth seek security help and advise before embarking on an overnight church activity.

He acknowledged that the location of the church was known to be a den for criminals and hoodlums also promised free medical treatment for those still receiving treatment while also promising that Government would take care of the burial rites of those that lost their lives in the attack.

What kind of trash is this? People are getting killed and your advice to them is to keep quiet and act like it is not happening and somehow they would forget they exist and go after others. Man you are disturbingly daft. It is past midnight so if you have nothing worthwile to say, go to sleep and don't rile people up here.

What useless mentality is this. Honestly, if Igbos are waiting on people with such mentality to back them up, they might as well kill themselves before the northerners arrive to do the deed.
Okay, go on the attack! Abi? undecided

angry angry angry angry  Northerners.
For all we know, it might (please, notice the "might"wink not even be the "Northerners" that are doing this. What about PDP? ACN? MEND? Or the political class in the North? or even outsiders? Speaking as an objective viewer.

As an objective viewer, it is clear that someone knows that by killing Igbos, they (Igbos) are the easiest group to provoke to war!

Remember, Yorubas were killed after the election, even more than Igbos. Since the Yorubas did not talk, they left them.

Also, Niger-deltans have NOT been touched. How come?? Not even up to 10 Niger-deltans have been reported killed, before, during and after the elections. But for some ALMIGHTY reason, they "know" where and who are IGBOS  in the North to kill them.

Come on man! Chyz* is doing what is best for the Ndigbo.

Chyz*, even u? smh! What has suddenly overwhelmed you? smdh!

@Jason123, could u please remind me the "mistake" that ndigbo made? U dee seriously fall my hand upon say u want a Republic of Southern Nigeria or have u changed?

For how long would we ndigbo be victims in this evil union of nationalities called Nigeria? How long? The thing that pains me so much is why we particularly ALWAYS seem to be the targets in anything?

Some ndigbo here like Abagworo are even rejoicing about the deaths of our people up north! What madness! Ara gbagbuo gi! Chukwu kpokwa gi oku. angry

This is a recurring cycle of violence against ndigbo since 1945.

Why does it always seem to be us?

You shot someone, people where mourning the person in a house and then u go to the same house and shot 17 of them?

You went to a town hall and massacred people during peacetime- people who owe u nothing.

People are here blaming GEJ and yet these problems were there before he was even born. And yet when some people said they would make Nigeria ungovernable, people seem to forgotten such statements. Every problem is linked to the poor man yet a region of the country has continually caused disaffection between themselves and the rest of the country.

A region fanatical about a born to rule mentality? What is it? angry angry angry

A continuous series of massacres by people who completely live for nothing but a false interpretation of their religion.  Be it their nonsense born to rule mentality through politics, refusal to be productive in life through education, destruction of peoples' farmlands through agriculture, waging feudalistic wars against other people in the name of religion with a huge population of beggars and useless almajiris who their existence hasn't done earth any good.

A series and series and series of problems from the very animalistic northern region that has continued to drag Ndigbo and progressive southern Nigeria into the abyss.

Oh dear, Alj_harem, no amount or PR you're doing here will make us change the views of Ndigbo and southerners towards the series of evils that your  angry wicked people have done to us and Nigeria.

I despise you people.
The mistake of being alone in the fight like in 1966. It is only wise for Igbos to keep quiet and watch because the situation is volatile now and things can change. People are trying to make this an IGBO WAR (a discern mind will see it from far away and THAT IS WHAT Chyz* saw!) because a Northerner cannot tell the difference between a Yoruba Christian, South-Southern and Igbo so how come people say its only Igbos that are being killed?? undecided

Bruv, I am pro-southern Nigeria and to be pro-southern Nigeria no region should be alienated. That is what is about happening. Another example is the protest saga ( I am not "for" or "against" it since its none of my business, I simply come here to debunk lies), people thought it was a Northern thing until the Middle belt (including Kogi, Kwara, Niger, Benue, Nasarawa, FCT and co) join, SW and parts of the SS (Edo and Delta (warri to be specific), a little happened in Port harcourt but not significant).

Dem_people, keeping quiet can be painful but as a friend to the Ndigbo, I'll advise that it is the wisest thing to do for now until you see where the rest South lies. Think about it, I am sure you'll see reason with me.

Sam_Ikenna:
I have read so much on nairaland to know who is who. Its a pity the only thing that will appease some of our southern fellows is for Igbos to roll over and call them lord of lords. However, I have news for those southern fellows and that is-it aint happnin. Huasa-fulani people killed igbos and the rest of Nigeria joined in making sure that "aggresive Igbos" were put in their propper place. Today, Boko haram has started killing christians and it seems we, Igbos, are recording high casualties and what do we see - Sheyguy, Lagoshia, jason234 and some other seemingly educated southerners are implicitly insinuating that Igbos either caused it by either their statements or their 99% vote for GEJ. Its a shame the rest of southerners want to make it Igbo-Hausa affair and probably looking for a way to screw Igbos again. But you know what, If southerners want to make it Igbo - Hausa affair then I ask that they completely remain neutral and not screw our effort because Igbos are more than able to deliver a crushing blow to this manace.

Besides, CHYZ I used to like reading your posts but it amazes me how you turned into Beaf-hater. I still have some respect for you but my brother you've got to see Beaf and Frosbel as sincere southern fellows who are sick of this un-ending hurt from core north. Frosbel's Igbo or no Igbo is immaterial, whats important is the truth in his message. Let me ask you and other southern christians this question and before I go further lets just say core north and other nigerian muslems are totally against Boko haram. Now the question is this - who stands to gain if all christians are wiped out or depopulated in Nigeria? Who gains if christians become minority in Nigeria? You see, before you enjoy the killing or maiming of Igbo christians think about who gains when the deed is finally done because you might wake up to discover you're next in the chopping block.

Some muslems and northerners are really against what is happening, I really believe some are disguted by it, but that didnt save the lives of those brothers who met their untimely death for no just cause. Mind you, when all Igbos and christians are finally in their graves those "good muslems" would weep for us and afterwards enjoy their new majority.

Igbos and concerned southerners please lets look out for our common interest, lets pull our resources together and challange this carnage. In as much as we thank the good muslems for their courage lets realize its our lives that are at stake and do something about it.
Your comment commands respect but I have NEVER insinuated that Igbos should fight Hausas alone. In fact, I am saying Igbos should keep quite since they just fought a war . . . .

As for Walala, I AM DISAPPOINTED!

Walala:
Ndigbo, stand up and fight the people who give you no respect and slaughter your kind like animals.   Instead of attacking us Yoruba people all the time simply because we like to party.  Yoruba people are too educated and smart to fight with anyone so that's why you continuously pick on us and call us weak.  Now that another group is killing you like ram on sallah day, I wait to see what you will do; all your beating on the chest like a gorilla must amount to something today.  Or are you going to hide under the fact that you have no leader because Ojukwu is dead?

You have been living in Lagos all this time and at no point in time did we attack you or give you ultimatum to leave our backyard but yet you pick on us and call us names.  You even had the audacity to say you want more voice in the next elections and that you want to rule us in our own home.  We tolerate all your nonsense without violence and accommodate you but what do we get in return?

Just like under Awolowo days, we will sit back and watch the two of you kill each other like fools because quite frankly we are smarter than yall.  They keep saying southerners but we all know they are saying Igbo.  Over 50 dead already since yesterday and counting,
Wrong statement my friend.
Igbos are not cowards but the civil war took a lot from them and it is wise to be calmer this time or else they might make the same mistake again.

Kc3000:
^^^^^then you wonder why no one like you. As you admitted, you've never been known to burst a grape in a food fight, but afterwards you'll make the loudest noise. Why not simply shut your trap, since 'the fight' does not concern your beloved Yoruba people. Let me guess. . .you feel left out, but fear would not let you commit to either side. But, you'll hover around, just enough to get noticed and hop on the d.i.c.k of whoever emerges victorious.
You are not fooling anyone, sit on the sideline and assume your usual cheer-leading duties!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is an element of truth is some of what he said. Yorubas don't attack Igbos in Lagos, yet, some Igbos take the piss with it. Its not right.

BEFORE cocoa and groundnuts ever came into the picture, there was OIL PALM which the British companies traded for many years and found it too irresistible that they formed a company around it. That company effectively became Nigeria later. Anyone who does not understand this, knows nothing about Nigeria and why the British are doing what they are doing in Nigeria.
