On the contrary you are the one that have refused to come out from the darkness you have so much enclosed yourself like a caterpillar. You are blind, deaf, dump and daft. Why have you skillfully avoided the main problem bedeviling your poor region? Here is the situation in your lagos and you are building high-rise, your useless fashola should focus on providing food, shelter and small scale jobs for the army of Yoruba beggars than building white elephant project on the pages of newspaper that will only benefit the criminals like him.
"The Lagos State government has in a bid to check the menace caused by the influx of beggars in the state deported some 3,105 beggars and lunatics to their states and countries of origin.
The special adviser to the governor on youth and social development, Dolapo Badru, disclosed this during a briefing on Thursday in Lagos. He said about 3,044 of the beggars arrested in raids on lunatics have been deported in the last one year.
Mr Badru revealed that Sokoto State had the highest number of beggars, with 196, arrested on Lagos streets, followed by Oyo State with 83, Osun - 67, Ekiti - 21, and Ondo State - seven."

How many people will they feed with quality food? I dey laugh o! Its better if such a policy is done in Imo than Lagos, why? Because Imo is not as populated as Lagos so, the quality(not quantity) will be better. Lagos state will simply be feeding these pupils with poisonous, expired products. |

dmainboss: It is now very obvious that those criticizing GEJ here on NL are partisan, tribal bigots and absolute morons. You have been screaming the man should not remove subsidy, now he says, OK let me consult and see how we can go around it, then you come back to NL and scream he should remove it or he has backed down because he is clueless.
Of course I am not surprised because it is obvious those of you posting here are ACN and CPC members. You do not love Nigeria or seek its good. You are just Yoruba and (some) northern tribal bigots who are not happy GEJ is president just because he is from a minority. From your posts, it is obvious you have no clue what you are talking about but it doesn't matter really because now we know where you stand.
It is a pity though because it will come back and bite you in the behind soon. Obviously, there is nothing you can do about GEJ's presidency because he will go down in history as the best president ever and the man that changed Nigeria forever. You can keep hating till you get ulcer but it wont change a thing. ^^^^another idio.t introducing tribalism to sensible topics. . .SMH. Did you guys leave your common sense anytime you come on NL? |

donigspain: The British made Lagos the capital of Nigeria due to its accessibility to the outside world. The purpose of colonialism was not for developement of the region rather it was aimed at exploitation. So the British chose Lagos to be the capital since it could be easily accessed and also easy to escape in situations of revolt from the Nigerian people. Abuja on the other hand is the best place for d location of a country's capital based on centrality and sheild from external attack. I have no regret at all with the location of Nigeria capital as long as we are still one entity. We should remove all tribalistic sentiments while making judgements. Well said! +1 buzor: which one entity are you talkin about? d one that has failed already even before d predicted 2015, am still laughing in ibo USA is not God! One_Naira: I laugh at you ignorance. Most people are oblivious of ethnicity to crime? I might be new to this site but it seems I know more about this forum than members whose being here more than I. Many of your own post destroys that statement completely but since yo pointed to me, I'll focus on me. I've only engaged on three threads focusing on crime, one of which was started by you (alj_harem) and I'll post the link for all to see https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=277947.msg9378641#msg9378641 https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=739251.msg9395025#msg9395025 https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=784773.msg9387489#msg9387489 As anyone with an eye can see noone was oblivious of ethnicity before I joined the conversation especially the third link ( that provides a whole painting on your ignorance) and everything I said I backed it up by facts. I'll give you an assignment, If you can find more topic where I (one_naira) discussed about crimes in Nigeria and mentioned ethnicity apart from those three then post it.
In my opinion you are the biggest bigot found on this forum and I honestly do not understand why anyone takes you seriously. You've displayed bigotry on daily basis on this site. You have multiple monikers pretending to be something you are not just to spread your hatred on Igbo people and when caught you deny it even when its obvious. My friend out of the bigots on this website, you are the worst and it irritates me on how two-faced you are and this belief of yours that you are neutral despite your name appearing multiple times when asked whose the biggest tribalistic on this forum. Take a look at the closet nwoke. Even this thread on hand, Point_B and Afameva offense was laughing at OPC and of course Afameva claim and somehow it turned into a bash Igbo thread rather than advising people to sheath their sword especially having no reason to draw it out, no of course you praised the attack on and when Point_B and afameva retaliated back, of course they become the culprits rather than victims. The third link provided by above, the topic at hand was about an Igbo man opening a mall in South Africa, someone turned into Igbo are criminals thread, rather than advising the destroyer to stop, you praised him on and when Igbo started retaliating you saw something wrong with us pointing the crimes of Yoruba. I do remember every single Ojukwu thread opened up and all the insult Yoruba descended on there even when Igbo did not say anything about other Nigerian group, and when they started defending themselves against their attack, you found something wrong with the Igbo retaliating. Even the Eze of NL, I honestly did not understand why some Yoruba group insulted igbo in a playful topic and yet again you saw nothing wrong with that. Just as how you accused Igbo of being the writers in moderghana despite having no proof. Of any non-Igbo that defend Igbo upon the attackers, either you insult them or accuse them of being Igbo. I can go on and on and on of your bigotry, I can post links upon links of your bigotry but I need not to, someone watching you and your account replies from afar can see what you are without I exposing you. As I’ve stated before I’ve being through this site as far back as I can and I’ve noticed majority of the Igbo you all accuse of bigotry began such crusade after witnessing the attack descended upon our group by your group. Being blamed of any attack thread written about Yoruba even if the OP said he wasn’t Igbo. I, myself, can attest to that. Upon joining this forum, I was neutral about Yoruba after all I have very little experience with such group, my first ever reply was the beauty of South Eastern women but then I decided to branch out, let me recover what I came upon this website to do hence read topics, read replies and from what I read I got irritated and decided to revenge back and I’ve gladly accepted that as my mistake and I even said it upon that first reply to king. Many more Igbo have re-narrated of having such encounter such as Eze_uche, Onlytruth, freewilly, arysexy, Blisslyfe, etc and many Igbo have left this site because of it. All I know is this website opened my eyes about Nigerians and their groups. I now know which nigerian group I can and cannot trust. I do not have access to Nigerians on daily basis except online thus I thank Seun for opening this site, It shows me to true color of people. As they say you know who your true friends are by their discussion of you when you are not around. Stop being immature! I was once down that road and trust me when I say(type) this, people chat shi.t a lot on the internet. I cannot use what I have read on NL to judge Igbos, Yorubas, Hausas, Ijaws etc because for all I know, I might have been talking to ONE person all this while. Even if that's not the case, I could care less about what people think about my group or other groups for that matter. Why? I have almost every ethnic group in my family. Most of what people chat on the net is untrue but they just do to catch fun. If I was you, I'll not take this site too serious. |

PROUD-IGBO: ^^^ Cheers GAR3TH.
Just checked the link, and besides the South East receiving the lowest amount amongst all the regions, another thing that struck me was that of Local Government disbursements, with Kano State receiving the highest . Now WTF do they do with all that money they've been getting over the decades b'cos -even with all the shenanigans and wuru-wuru- the South East is still better off in all indices. I've said it, and i'll continue to say it that Ndigbo are being shortchanged in this set-up as things stand. The talk of landmass -though valid up to a point- does not give the full picture of the situation as there are monumental problems like erosion and bad roads that we've got to contend with and the area is densely populated. You would have thought (given the argument of small landmass) that it would be a reason to easily fix roads like Enugu-Onitsha and Enugu-Port harcourt expressways, but then this is Nigeria we're talking of: a place were logic and fairness goes out the window the moment ethnic/bigoted/vindictive considerations step into the room.
In this dog-eat-dog country, Ndigbo would have been an endangered species if not for our self-help and industry. Its crazy how the NE can receive more money than the SE? Is it based on land mass or what? |

Politics › Re: Ivorian Firm Refines Oil For Nigeria by jason123: 3:02pm On Dec 14, 2011 |
alj_harem: Ok I see but I have evidence that Nigeria consumption of fuel is even higher than predicted by NNPC.
but lets assume you are absolutely correct, Now if NNPC cannot produce that fraction you are talking of, would we not be experiencing fuel scarcity very other week ?
Nigeria cannot produce the petrol it consumes fact.
Now I would like to explain how like of IBB and co made their wealth but it is too long for me to type down but I would give you a hint if you are less busy, you can research about it.
From crude oil exportation alone, the exporter and the refinary make money also keep some refined product to themselves
when it has been refine, the export can make 10 times his profit as he feels like thus fuel scarcity
then NNPC does not have a large enough storage to store our oil and thus private owned reservoirs make money and also keep some oil to themselves.
Thus at this point the exporter has made 20 times his profit
then he then takes some of the stored crude oil to the black market and makes even more money
at the end of the day the export aka onado and co have made 30 times more profit of what they were meant to make.
Why because they have taken advantage of the situation of the FG and NNPC.
I would tell you the truth now my brother, if the government removes subsidy, it would not stop the profit of the importers
Subsidy is only a small part of the profit and milking of the importers. FACT !!!
the government would be very easy to dupe if they do not build the refinary
The NNPC aka the government would still buy oil from this people . if before they buy it for 20 billion naira at 65 naira per liter, now the exporter can call it 30 billion naira at 145 naira per liter apart from the subsidy money if the government wishes.

I see Uhrobos, Ijaws, Ilajes and Delta Igbos as my blood brothers! Even in occasions in the UK, we mix well! Someone is trying really hard to cause chaos in Delta state. We are all brothers! ifihearam: The truth of the matter is that, the itsekiris has never claimed ownership of sapele but there are some disputable areas in sapele which are dominated by the itsekiris like Ogwaja and Ajimele. However, these areas were given to the itsekiris by the okpes.I can authoritatively tell you that the ajimele area of sapele was given to an itsekiri lady called Imele, because of the love the Ogodos then had for her, they gave her that little village and named it after her that is AJA(which means PLACE)AJa-IMELE that is Imele place.
So we are not really in contention with the okpes rather the Okpes are scared that one day the itsekiris would out number them both numerically and financially because today in sapele no doubts the itsekiris are the richest.
True or false and they have bought all the lands in shell road,At and P quarters etc. Interesting info, I just hope the itsekiris over there are at peace with the local populace! We should try to acclimatise anywhere we find ourselves! |

babestella: It baffles me every time our leaders come out with phony projects in the name of improving our lives, I really wonder what kind of brains they have and where exactly the brains are located in their physiology. Does Lagos state govt think we can be fooled all the time,? does it think that Nigerians have not evolved? for Christ sake, enough is enough in the country. Our leaders have so messed up this country just because of greed. How can Lagos state govt build a road on lekki axis and toll it? What is the justification behind the dumb thinking? are there no good roads in VI, Ikoyi etc? Why Lekki. The problems of this our dear country are quite enormous and our leaders don't care, never. They get there and they think we are all fools. Imagine our dear president on one side, Fashola on one side, Peter Obi is doing his own on one side in Anambra, T. A. Orji has turned Abia state to a family bakery/winery, the list is endless, and here we are in Lagos, with all the double taxation. This state generated more income that any state in Nigeria most of which are illegal. They employ all manner of tact and tugs/hoodlums in suit to extort money from residents. Alh. Lateef Jakande did that road without asking for a dime, at his time, how many lagosians/Nigerians were paying their taxes? Yet he did it. Can you imagine how much Lagos generates every month from multinationals, banks, industries, poor market women, transports, okada riders etc plus federal allocation?
I see a lot of government house boys coming to NL to respond to comments; I sense that they are just want to show their oga that they are working, pls NL is not a place for you to do that. Let me tell all those who think that Lagos is doing the resident of lekki a favour, they are actually pulling a long string and without knowing what is actually attached to the end of the string. This is big fraud. Nigeria is not a country where debts are fully serviced, if we allow them, our children and their future generation will never finish paying. The Lekki Toll gates should be burnt down in this next protest, what are we waiting for, it is time we take action, if they want to kill us all, let them go ahead, it is because it is still there, that is why someone could sit in the comfort of his home to think that he has done lagosians a favor by building roads and tolling it. When Lasu/Iba road was completed, any toll there? NO, why, are we not all paying our taxes, as a matter of fact how many people who live on that axis pay their taxes, why toll on Lekki roads.
Lagos state does not belong to one man, no matter who you are or your status, you cannot be bigger than the people, we have seen live instances from Egypt, Libya, and currently Syria, Yemen, Pakistan. Our leaders need to have a rethink, if they cannot run this nation, let them resign. The worst is that when it is very glaring that our leaders have failed in their responsibility, that is when they sit tight, when they should have resigned honorably. But here, they develop "agidi spirit" I must rule by force, it must be by force. na me sabi pass all of una. It is such a shame, FYI (@ Coogar, I see you are a big disgrace to the generation of people who want changes in the way things are done in this nation. I sense you are just a dumb house boy to either Tinubu or Fashola, keep it up, your meal ticket will soon be doubled OK) Your thinking is myopic and laughable. I imagine if you ever know what it takes to pay tax and not get value.
See, this is why we cannot move forward, when 99% of intellectually sound citizens are saying something is wrong, then just one mad man who feeds of the crumbs that falls of his masters table says it is right, then there is problem. If you put him in government tomorrow, he will do worst than his master, probably put a stopper to the air we breath and ask all to pay tolls. The roads built with our taxes, we are again asked to pay for using it, no good water, no electricity. no security, no education for the poor, no job for our graduates because industries are not there to employ, few spaces are reserved for those who have connection. If our leaders are myopic in their sense of leadership and lack the will and capacity to take us to the next level, why can’t they leave us alone?. Is it by force? You don’t come on TV to show us that you are building roads for us, if you are not building roads, hospitals, schools, etc, then what are you doing in government, why are you there. It is the responsibility of government to provide infrastructure as far as taxes are being paid. Haba, please if we don’t know where we are going, we should know where we are or where we are coming from. Why is it that everyone wants to rule in Nigeria like it is his private or family property?
I tire, but I know that the end is in sight, we are not losing hope, when the time comes, we shall all rise and defend our rights legally or otherwise. As for GEJ, we are waiting for January. He came and told Nigerians I quote “I didn’t have shoes when he want to school” Right now, how many students has he provided with shoes and books, how many? Directly or indirectly, rather he is formulating more hardship on the parents so that by the time they buy fuel, pay tolls on highways, eat cassava bread, etc with their meager miserable 18K minimum wage, they all go home with polythene bags with which to pack their ragged clothing.
May God help us, give is the courage, strength and the will to fight this evil menace that has overtaken this Nation, that has driven this great nation into the dark hole. Lovely! |
