Politics / Re: Military Take Over Power Stations Nationwide by jason2010(m): 6:06am On Nov 16, 2011
Kossy04:

Leave PHCN, it's Aso Rock you guys are supposed to take over, every other thing will fall in place.

I couldn't have said this any better. You goddamn right that Aso Rock is what the soldiers are supposed to take over. Stable power is not coming to Nigeria anytime soon as long as PDP is still in power. Here is my reason, I personally know somebody that one of the mega power plant companies is owing 30 mil naira since January for supply of materials. Not just him, 85% of the contractors. The remaining 15% gets paid immidiately because they have long legs (meaning they know somebody highup there in Abj). The reason the power plant keeps giving him is that the federal govt has not paid them (the power plant company), so they dont have money to pay thier contractors. Mind you he also borrowed money from UBA for the supply that he did. Which means that the bank predatory interest rates keeps adding on

Another gentleman that I sat next to on the plane also told me that a power plant in Bayelsa is owning him 15 million naira (that he borrowed from the bank to supply sand) since April, not just him too, almost all the contractors. He further told me that the government is not paying on time at any of the power site. So imagine if this is what goes on at all the power site

Now all these contractors are discouraged and turned off what supplying materials at these sites because they say that they are loosing money. These means that sooner or later, work will stall or stop or start dragging at these site because of lack of material. All this is contrary to what GEJ,his PDP guys, power minister, and even some folks on Nairaland keeps telling us

The bottom line is that Goodluck Jonathan is not going to help us, he is business as usual. Read up on the guy, he is a loyalist, which means that he will be very loyal to all the sharks that surround him in the PDP party. Look if we want to get things done in Nigeria, we need to Occupy Aso Rock, like my man Kossy04 pointed out. We really need to start having these conversations on Nairaland, and it shouldn't be just mere rhetorics folks. READ MY WRITING, "WE ARE NOT GOING TO SEE STABLE POWER IN THE NEXT TEN YEAR AS LONG AS WE SIT ON OUR MONKEY ASSES AND DO NOTHING"

Dude forget Sheyguy, he is a stunch Ibo hater. All you gotto do is read his previous posts. Almost all of them is Ibo this Ibo that. Leave that dude alone. He ain't worth your time.

Power is not meant to be tasted, that's the mistake easterner made back in 1966 when they attempted to snatch it, (an action that has gotten them into where they are now) all for tasting purpose . . .  Very funny. if we are to go by the regions that re performing when it comes to a state-level assessment then i will give it back to the west in the nearest future.

@second_Highlighted_part: going by the state arrangement where every one (region) has freedom to express themselves, the SEners have not given us a reason to consider them for power. they r still well behind and they look more clueless than most regions. they talk hot but blow cold when it's time for action.

Since when did an attemp to "secede" become an attemp to "snatch power" ? Read it up. They didn't want to snatch power, they just wanted an independent country of their own.

It's sickening that people still think the president must come from a particular region.

That's what got us into this GEJ mess.

In my own opinion, the Northerners and Westerners are the most intelligent people
in this country. The south-south people, clueless and no sense of direction. very violent
and narrow minded.

That said, I'm ok with a president from any region as long as he can bring the needed change.

I don't even know if you are worth the response. You come off as childish and condescending as heck. Look no particular tribe is more intelligent that the other in Nigeria, period. All we are saying is that the ones that haven't tasted the power should be allowed to do so in the name of fairness. Going by you line of reasoning (The south-south people, clueless and no sense of direction. very violent and narrow minded), lets brake it down:

Clueless and no sense of direction -- The North has been running Nigeria since Adam, and a South South guy has been there for less than a year. Now going by the state of things in Nigeria, who is clueless here?

Very Violent and narrow minded --- Who are the folks with a one track mind that keeps blowing up innocent people these days in Nigeria, the South South also?

it is backward mentality like yours that keeps Nigeria, and the rest of africa in the dark ages. always drawing lines where it is not needed,  in order for the country to grow, things like south east and all that bogus shouldnt matter,  we simply want a good leader,

Ok, I need you to feel me a bit on this. The Ibos haven't ruled Nigeria for once, the Ibos are the only geo political zone with 5 states while others have 6, and you think that it is alright for us to just remain happy with the status quo. I say we should disintegrate the goddamn thing called Nigeria. Then if not, an Ibo man should be president for once. I think that it is only fair. Last I checked, (as of 2010) we make up more than 20 percent of the population of 9ja. Any clear thinking person can comprehend that the Ibo have been marginalised enough. This ain't no backward mentality, it is actually a progressive mentality IMO

im peaceful that is why a northerner has to win, it is for good of us all involved, in the past years we only had yar'adua and he died in office while not finishing, you guys had gej and obj

Dude in the past years are you not aware that you had Shagari, Buhari, Babangida, Abacha, Abdusalami, all northerners? Don't you think that it is fair that an Ibo man should taste this power once?

Politics / Re: Should Power Return To The North In 2015? by jason2010(m): 6:05pm On Nov 04, 2011
It should go to the East in 2015, then to the South West in 2019, then to the North in 2023, then back to the SS in 2027. There needs to be only one term. This whole thang needs to rotate, and the Ibo's ought to be next in line. We all know that the system has not been fair to the Ibo since day one

Music/Radio / Re: What Nigerians Do Not Know About The Bet Cypher? - Save Nigerian Hip Hop by jason2010(m): 4:57pm On Oct 18, 2011
yemmy_ma:

I decided to write this after seeing the Nigerian BET cypher and thought it was time everybody stopped been a mediocre if we want to promote Nigerian music abroad. After listening to all the rappers, y'all will agree with me on this,

BET cypher is not about finding rhymes from nursery books. It is much about your creativity with story telling and how you can find good word plays to push it. I looked at all the cyphers and i find the Nigerian cypher the weakest(I am Nigerian lol). It just hurt that the truth is not always supported in Nigeria just the way our politicians use bias to put people to lead industries when we have world class managers everywhere in Nigeria and abroad.  If we really want to set a bench mark for hiphop in Nigeria, we should get a cue from Mode. He leads the next rapper in Nigeria with a long stretch.

Mode 9 - I got introduced to his songs by a friend who was a big fan. After hesitating at first, i decided to give it a try and that was it. For years, i have seen arguments on who tops him in Nigerian hip hop but i am ashamed to see that we Nigerians, though claim to know one or two things about rap are just plain commercial. We don't appreciate conscious music. I wonder how Asa managed to sell albums in the country.  He is straight classic and would go pound for pound with any American MC.

M.I. - On the average, he did not disappoint compared to the other guys, but i think he was trying too hard. A real hardcore rap is mostly about punchlines and fluidity rather than vocabularies. M.I's intro was good though. (Reference to Joe Budden on the Slim 2.0 cypher). I won't put him on another cypher even though i like him as a Nigerian artist not world stage. I will replace him with Terry tha Rapman.

Sauce Kid - My love for sauce kid does not go beyond rap. I just like him as a rapper and i can acknowledge his ability but he always come to most as an underperformer rather than one with no rap skills. He did not do badly on the cypher and he managed to have a story line rather than finding rhymes like others were doing. I still think he has a place to do another cypher if the chance comes through.

Ice Prince - A rare combination of poor rapability and childish punchlines. NO storylines. He reminded me of some 9ice's songs where gathers adages from wherever to make a song. He DEFINITELY has no place on another cypher. Infact, he should never win a rap album award. Its damaging to our hiphop music. I will replace him with Muna

X.O. - To most people, he came as a disappointment on the cypher after so much hype. I really don't think he did that bad rapability wise and story lines, its just that he wasn't audible enough. There is something wrong with his accent. It came bad on that particular cypher. If he would make another cypher, he will have to be supervised. I will replace him with Rico White

Naeto C - I love him as a Nigerian artist, i don't think he has what it takes to go on the world stage. He is only going to be a bomb waiting to explode. He should feed us with more swag in naija and we will be appreciative of that.

So who would make my cypher list in Nigeria. My judgement is based on story line, punchlines, accent, and fluidity. I think the people who makes my list are

Mode 9
Sauce Kid
Terry that Rap Man
Rico White
Muna

If you think my opinion lacks credibility, share your opinion ( i respect it) but don't be bias as well in the second place.

So you actually believe that Mode 9 can go pound for pound with Mos Def, Talib, KRS1 or Nas? Quit with the jokes hommie

noblezone:

Finally, my chicken is coming to roost.

Yes, the Middle Belt has been used by the Jihardists as a willing tool in their conquest. If the MB has woken up just like the ND did a "few hours" ago, then I am glad.

The next phase is the alliance between the MD and the South. When it happens, the Jihardists will have two options:

1. To respect other Nigerians irrespective of tribe and religion
2. To pull out and form their Republic of Sharia, where Boko will be Haram.

It is time for the Jihardists to sit down, think and talk. They should study Nigeria and then find a way to exist with the rest of us.
I believe in the freedom of religion, but if your religion denies me the freedom to have my own religion, then something is wrong with that your religion.

My chicken has come to roost.  There is surely hope.

Thanks and thumbs up to all who dareded to take this bold step.

We in the South are with you.

Although you guys have finally woken up, we in the SE are also with you with God's blessings, as a matter of fact, we are ahead of you. Ride on MBners

Read your biblelogically-- KRS1. A lot of stuff just don't add up as I read my biblelogically. Then when I question event or things that don't add up as I read my bible logically, then all of a sudden I am now an anti-christ. Even my parents screams at me when I ask certain questions that would make perfect sense if you remove the whole fear of the "implications of questionning the bible".

I will gather all the old Military Generals, like BABANGIDA,  DANJUMA, Abdusallami, Mark, Ike Nwachukwu, Obasanjo, Shagaya etc (With the exception of Buhari) and Lock them up in a room, pour gasoline on them and light them up all up. May they burn in hell for keeping our country the way it is. By the way the bolded ones will be burnt twice, that is I will reburn there dead buddies.
