Car Talk › Re: 100k Salary Enough To Get A Car? by jasper83: 11:52am On May 03, 2015*. Modified: 12:08pm On May 03, 2015 |
This my piece of advice is to all, that we should always differentiate between a need and a want. Though is not a bad thing to wanna have a ride, infact it shouldn't be a luxury if all things are equal. I closely observed from experience that it is we the children of average/below average homes things like this freak alot. Imagine a child whose dad n mum owns a car and throughout cradle to early childhood to primary to secondary and tertiary he was privilege to be chauffeur driven or play around dad n mum's car, hurriedly owning a car wouldn't be a freak.
I remember my days in Unilag, whenever a yahoo guy hits money the first thing on their mind is owning a car and an intimidating one at that, and eventually wen water don pass garri they sell off at a ridiculous price and a back to square one. So why the rush in life, and moreover the societal expectations around you will rise. Pple will think u don arrive, turning you into a money lender, and if u dnt measure up na wahala be dat. Av aa re think and safe ur head for now.
My personal experience now, I'm 33 yrs and I earn 110k, my wife is a serving corp member and my son is just 3months. I started working like 2 yrs now afta service. Though I am nt regretting because give or take i dey progress in life gradually but I Neva knew family life in Naija is quite challenging. My house rent alone a mini flat around ikeja is 200k, my baby alone takes 20k monthly(baby food+diaper). Talkless for our own feeding and other utilities, and family expenses.
Initially I tot I was earning good until bukata(responsibilities wan tear ma pocket) lol. My wife and i are seriously thinking of how to generate more sources for the family in other to be balanced financially, wen I was I like u I could Av generated another way, salary walahi no be am.
Back to the OP, infact I they envy you. This is the best time of ur life to triple ur income and be financially independent because the economy of this country is uncertain, God forbids, job loss nko. Try and establish yourself now, family pple will never tell u all this unless u bcom one. Pls forgive me for my epistle, save for the raining day and make ur hay while the sun shine. #Wisdom.... |

Politics › Re: FG To Send Yoruba Teachers To Brazil by jasper83: 6:00am On May 02, 2015 |
Mapletraks: @Op
That is Great!
Bahia in Brazil was the major point in Brazil where thousands of Yoruba captives from Nigeria and Yorubas in Benin Republic landed.
Some returned to Nigeria after the slave trade ended and many became very wealthy.
The Alakija family came back from Brazil. Candido DaRocha was of Ijesa ancestry whose father also came back from Bahia in Brazil. Candido DaRocha built the Water House on Kakawa st. Lagos Island with another exact replica built by him in Bahia, Brazil in the late 1800s[DaRocha was a very rich man and he was the father of the founder of ADRAO International School, VI]. Yet some people will still argue blindly that Lagos is a no mans land( an empty vast of land the Britons discovered). |

handsometokunbo: If you are not happy in the marriage, just go for divorce and take your time to remarry again.
Pls, take your time cos women are completely different human beings when they are in your house compare to when they were courting.
Women are all the same everywhere but with little difference.
You need immeasurable wisdom and maturity to deal with them and that is what make you an husband sensible response ever and not online hypocrite's. |

zyphr: Quite a long letter but worth reading. It is a shame and disappointment that perons who the masses look up to, to understand thier pains and challenges, are the same persons that will turn a blind eye when the are in the position to put a smile on the face of the masses. If all he wrote in that letter is true, then its a a dissapointment that RMD is just like most Nigerian 'polithiefians' who will always siphon funds meant for the public. bro in as much I feel the pain of the Op. It tink u are too judgmental n too hard on RMD, lets see maybe this write up gets to him so he can defend himself. |

I pity you guys, keep bowing for Tinubu and let him be determining your faith every year.Tinubu will determine your faith in the next 24 years...guess what, the same set of people in his pipeline will be benefiting while the rest of you will be leaking his anus thinking you voted against the igbos. Agbaje is a pure Yoruba, he may have spread his campaign to get the Igbo votes, but guess what? the Yorubas in their primitive and tribalism voted against him..this is contrary to the education which they claimed to have acquired. Yoruba are slaves to Tinubu and will remain slaves!..stupid sets of people e dey pain u gaigan, e dey pain u welle welle o gaigan. Cry me a river if u like... |

Politics › Re: Tinubu Blasts Party Leaders Over Loss To PDP by jasper83: 8:49am On Apr 10, 2015 |
Ymodulus: Really, what can one safely say is the Igbos interest in Lagos? Their Voyage in Lagos is to achieve what ?
You will agree with me that igbos are in need of an economic, viable, peaceful Lagos. Large number of igbos live on commerce, from this its safe to say that the Igbos want a Lagos where there are government policies that promote the growth of commerce and business. A Lagos where infrastructural developments (e.g roads, bridges, hospitals , good transportation system , lighting ) is generally alive to their duties.
What do the igbos really want in Lagos?
Truth be told igbos are just strangers been harboured in Lagos Land. Lagos belongs to some people, in same way Enugu and IMO belongs to some people. Its high time the Igbos understand this and desist from going on their normal activities. Lagos is a no Man's Land. its own by the Yorubas.
So quick, the igbos have selected Jimi Agbaje and even sideline with him, as an adopted son same way they adopted the outgoing President Jonathan in the last election against their interest as a people, which has left them in serious political Quagmire / Ramshackle, to the extent that igbos senators are looking for way to be admitted into the APC
Taking a cursory look into the two Governorship Aspirant for Lagos state, let us ask deep down and answer truthfully some questions ; A. what sets these two candidate aside? B. Is any of them Igbo? C. What is the igbos problem?
The Igbos have had a fair stay in Lagos. The igbos, live peacefully unlike Kano state. The yorubas are highly politically sophisticated people, with great wisdom and understanding that its better they having a government in Lagos that belongs to the same party as the party at the centre, and now you want to destroy this.
Conclusively, its allowed for everybody to vote any candidate he wants, but a collective move to vote against the strategic interests of the people who own the land where you all live and make your living is not allowed. Lagos has been good to Igbos, a lot of you have succeeded in Lagos. Do not disrespect the people of Lagos. Nobody has murdered the Igbos in lagos like what we have, are , and will see in the north. Lagos remains the only state in this country where Igbos hold top government positions. Even your acclaimed, Rivers State have never given the igbos that privilege despite their huge population and presence there.
The people of Lagos / Yoruba's wants Lagos to progress and on Saturday, They will proudly vote for Akinwumi Ambode. A+
The Change they want is here. And that's the change from difference between party to same party. Just imagine a beautiful Lagos with no political differences of any sort with the federal government.
Last Quote Advice: " Igbos should stop trying to be more catholic than the pope " E go better for you plenty plenty. |
