Politics / Re: Soludo Takes Lawmakers To School On Capital Markets by jawjaw1: 2:20pm On May 17, 2012
ZUBY77: What is the big deal?a former CBN governor should be able to lecture lawmakers on issues concerning money market. The lawmakers come from all works of life, some are lawyers, doctors, teachers, traders etc. So i dont see how you expect them to know more about capital market tha Soludo.

You are wrong. The least that committee should have is members who are experts in one financial field or the other. Or rather the chairman of the committee should be an expert and the other members should be made up of people who are sharp and willing to learn all there is to know about finance and the economy in the shortest possible time. That is what should happen in a country where serious minded people are in charge of every tier of government. But we know that in Nigeria that is not the case. What we have a bunch of illitrates and unserious minded people in majority in every aspect of govt.

Its a big pity!

No dey argue with DayoTwatnu concerning english matters. He is a certified English Hater. Don't blame him though, the blame squarely lies at the hands of the British Embassy in Nigeria that denied him the right to reach his heaven(England)

Guy, but na true them dey talk na! If u disagree prove them wrong.
The plain simple truth is that the English are over-hyped by their press and media.
The EPL is all about the foreign money, players and coaches. Take them all out and what do u have left? Mediocre English players and coaches.
We unconsciously follow it with a passion because it is well advertised and the only league that is in English dat we all understand and can easily follow.
Politics / Re: James Ibori Conviction: Nigerian Judicial System & EFCC Should Be Ashamed? by jawjaw1: 2:32pm On Apr 19, 2012
Pls I get tired of hearing u guys saying shame on these people because in reality dis guys have no shame. Shame as a feeling does not affect dem anymore.
The only thing dat will give me joy is to ‘ dat Judge dat acquitted him put on trial and also all those security agents who cleared him to run for governor in 2003.
PDP itself as a party need to disown Ibori as a theif who has disgraced dem or dey simply accept dat that dey are all doing d same thing Ibori did.
We really need to get serious in Nigeria about governance and its responsiblities.

Politics / Re: Russia Backs US Nominee Kim For World Bank Presidency by jawjaw1: 1:37am On Apr 14, 2012
I am not the least surprised at the Russian decision to side with the US nominee, Kim. Anybody who understands Russian foreign policy will know that the Russians only do what they will benefit from. (An example is the current crisis in Syria). In this case, it is obvious that the Russians have agreed with the US choice in order to get something back in return. Secondly, they most certainly don't trust a black African to be the head of the World bank. That's Russia for you.

My take is Ngozi has no chance. This is an election year in the US. If Kim doesnt get the post it will be a weapon for the Republicans against Obama. Obama will most certainly not allow that to happen. He is not the most powerful man in the world for nothing.
Politics / Re: James Ibori, individual Punishment Or Justice? by jawjaw1: 10:57pm On Feb 29, 2012
bilms:

JAMES IBORI,INDIVIDUAL PUNISHMENT OR COLLECTIVE JUSTICE?

James Ibori,The former Governor of Delta State is being prosecuted and we are all celebrating the punishment of the sinner as we all know he his. many people on news papers and social media write all sort of things to quantify this achievement of persecuting this thieve. But i can't but ask, should we be celebrating the punishment of one or the collective justice to all? is Ibori being punished because he stole from our people or because he offended someone? Ibori was a governor since 1999 to 2007,he wasn't the only governor,we had 36 state governors. Is Ibori the only governor that stole from Nigeria? of course not, the 36 state governors stole our money simultaneously, but only one is being punished. Did Ibori stole more money than Bukola Saraki? did he steal more than Fashola,Idris,Oyinlola,Donald duke, orji kalu, and others? Did he steal more money than Obansanjo and the ministers? You would remember the case of obj's theft and the former US vice president Chiney. Is this an individual punishment or collective justice? Ibori did not steal more money than other state thieves and federal looters. Some would say it would be one after the other, but we all know it is one who offended the master. We should not celebrate the punishment of one man but the collective justice to all. Until we learn to do this,Nigeria shall remain a tool.

Please spear me this crap! The man was put on trial in a country that doesn't take kindly to crimes. And he has on his own pleaded guilty and you are here talking about selective justice. If he knew he was innocent or had any chance whatsoever of not being found guilty do you think he would have pleaded guilty?

What even makes it worse is that he is not a first time offender. He has been caught twice in the past in the UK for some small financial crime. Those guys keep records and as you can see it is very important. In the next 100 years they will still have records of Ibori's crimes. How do you think the ordinary hard working Brit feel when some of them cant boast of 10,000 pounds in their accounts after working for over 10 years and a guy they caught stealing money off a credit card some years ago all of a sudden comes around buying houses and all sort of exquisite cars worth millions of pounds. His simple explanation is that he has been a governor in Nigeria for 8 years and on checking his annual salary as governor was not more 25,000 dollars. The prosecutor got it absolutely right by telling Ibori to his face, 'You are a thief in government house'.

I can assure you Ibori will get nothing less than 10 years in jail and he deserves every bit of it.
If I have my way, I will start from the security guys who screened him and cleared him to run for gorvernor. I will try them in court and jail them too if necessary. Then the judge who acquitted him will be next. Then Andoakaa the former minister of justice will follow suit. In my opinion, they all deserve to be hanged.

If it was possible too, I will arrange an Umaru Dikko style transportation of Alamesigha and Dariye to London. Let the British criminal justice system help us do what we cannot do, try and convict these thieves. What has happened to Ibori is God's answer to the prayers of hard working and suffering Delta state indigenes and Nigerians who see these criminals steal from them while they suffer pain and death because they are powerless to do anything.
Please let no one come here and talk about selective justice. Anyone that is caught is good enough for us. As long as he is guilty let them put his ass in jail. We will enjoy seeing him rot there simply because he or she deserves it. Full stop.

The only reason I see why GEJs govt seem to be making some progress with power is because they appointed a professional in Prof. Bart Nnaji as Power minister and gave him the absolute authority to do what is necessary. The man is a thorough breed who is out to make a point.

Romance / Re: Is Waiting Until Marriage An Outdated Concept? by jawjaw1: 1:58am On Feb 03, 2012
@rokiatu
Its near impossible to find people who are ready to wait untill marriage dis days, especially we the guys. wink
However a girl who gets married as a virgin will surely earn the respect of her husband and the respect will last.
But I must also say, that it could be somewhat frustrating.
Speaking from a friend's experience, its difficult to teach a woman all it is about. It will surely take time for her to learn how to please him.
Guys love to get in bed with a woman who is experienced and brings something new to the action. It blows our minds. grin
Hope that explains why some men dont even want to be married to virgins.

i agree with you on this, it is what you want as a lady that you get from men
I make bold to say that am an independent young woman, who have worked hard POSITIVELY THOUGH to get to where i am today and being born with a silver/diamond/no spoon at all has nothing to do with it.
Many women dream of getting married to a rich guy, what they have failed to realise is that their life/ their well being/the society which they may want to help will only revolve around that man's income it means they can't get things they love if the man does not have the means, HO MI GOD i shiver at the thought of that,
Let Adenuga toast me today, all i want from him is to show me how he made his dough,Let all girls start telling all those rich men to teach them how to fish instead of opening their legs to receive few fish, i rest my fingers!!

i remember my elder sister's hair been prepared for christmas when we were little. Goodness me, the rubbed oil on her hair while this long local metal comb was being heated. You can imagine the screams when the comb finally had to go thru the hair. All I could do then was to stare in complete amazement. It was sheer horror while it lasted.
Whenever I remember it, I just thank God I was born a guy. Woman wahala too much I tell you (hopes he doesnt sound like a chauvinist)

Politics / Re: Fashola Unveils Waste Transfer Loading Station In Oshodi by jawjaw1: 5:53pm On Oct 01, 2011
I have lived in lagos for over 8 years and I can tell you that I have nothing but praise and admiration for Fashola.
Those who criticize him destructively are not being honest with themselves or are blind to the reality of what Fashola is doing or has achived.

I remember driving thru Eric moore street in surulere a year or two ago and after the renovation and I unconsciously murmurred 'God bless Fashola'. The street was looking well built by Julius Berger and well lighted with lovely street lights. If you had seen Eric Moore street 3-4 years ago you will understand what I mean. You cant drive on that road without fear for your car and life. He has now extend the good work to Bode Thomas road. I am sure many in Lagos have the same experience.

The man has a comprehensive plan for Lagos but it will take time for him to achieve it. if you had watched the Lagos state governorship election debate, and listened to Fashola speak you will hear a man who has at his finger tips the road construction and rehabilitation plan for lagos. He called every street that was being rehabilited by name and those that have been completed. He mentioned those that were next to be repaired in months to come. Believe me the man is capable. I only wish that most of the thieving Local Govt chairmen can follow suite with development of their local governments in mind and lagos will definitely be transformed.

I wish everyone would be patient with him and pray and support him. If he hasnt touched your area be patient he will be there soon. The man knows what he is doing and definitely has a plan. When he is done with Lagos, I pray Nigerians will force him to come and work at the centre and do his thing for the country. He is a performer, take it or leave it.

I want to say it now as I said it then, 'God bless Fashola' and in also 'God bless Nigeria'.

no guy expects a girl to say YES the first time. if she does thats when someone like me has a rethink.
So getting a NO is normal and is always planned for.

But as a guy it mean lets try some more. I heard girls boast that 'if he doesnt struggle to get me, then he isnt worth it' so wat more do expect from us, ehh?
