Caracta:I believe each session will be completed in a day and he is to have 6 sessions in total. The location of LCC hospital is Lekki (That’s if the general consensus is to endorse Treatment Option 1) |
I will look into it and get back to you. Just calm down |
I volunteer (Not in TeHN capacity) to accompany him on one of the scheduled sessions so long as it falls between end of feb/early march |
adahtony:You will have to reply with that email to notify us of the change request. Just plead with your aunty's husband to allow you use it this one time. I'm afraid we wouldn't be able to proceed with your application further if you don't request the formal change as advised |
olu4life:Our involvement as a group will be restricted to financial management. The 6 volunteers will be given specific task to accompany him for his chemo sessions as well as updating the thread with their progress report |
DJDOLA:DJ, please be rest assured we are not giving up on you. I will personally come and visit you in the next few weeks. We want the best for you hence why we are looking for best case scenario for all concerned |
Instead of going round in circles, this is what ought to be considered if you guys endorse treatment option 1. He is expected to have 6 chemo cycles within a span of 18 weeks. The chemo cycle is once every other 3 weeks 6 new people can volunteer to accompany him then share the scheduling among themselves (1 volunteer for each chemo cycle). The volunteers will have the responsibility to update on proceedings at the end of each chemo cycle |
colossus2:The LCC doctors expect him to respond to the treatment hence why they suggested it. |
babyosisi:I honesty don't know why we deserve to be threatened like seriously |
babyosisi:I'm afraid it's not in your place to decide what we can or can't do. TeHN was set up because a group of individuals with common goal to help those in need decided to put a structure together in order to achieve set goals. That desire still remains and our support group has grown beyond NL |
colossus2:We need a new team that can oversee the critical phase |
Softly softly ooo Oga Jarus Election time are notoriously dangerous so please sheath your sword |
It's almost impossible for us to change our decision simply because we can't function without a field worker on ground. We currently have 3 field workers on our team out of which 2 are full time workers. The 3rd field worker who has had to put his life on hold for this noble cause now have other pressing issues which practically means we are unable to function effectively as we would have liked on this case going forward. We were never set up to work on cases that will demand this much resource as our strengths are somewhat restricted to planning and coordination due to obvious reasons. It's very important that we focus on the options provided so we can find an adequate/sufficient plan for the next critical phase |
moca:You're welcome Yes you are right |
moca:This is not the end of TeHN. We are currently working through all formalties for our registration We are also deeply into the later stages of the TNRI scholarship scheme. |
olu4life:We implore you to concentrate on the options provided at this time as it's very important especially to help shape the next treatment phase. Whatever the house decides after the stipulated 24hrs will have the responsibility to make that decision. |
Originalsly:Did you even bother to read my post Mr or you are just on a whinning bender? How do you know which chemo drugs to use bearing in mind we don’t know where the cancer is coming from? – They know from the ascetic fluid cytology report that the cancer is an adenocarcinoma. Chemo is systemic and they will use the drug that kills adenocarcinomas. According to him, adenocarcinomas usually come from the liver and the colon and since the colon is clear (from colposcopy results) its more likely from the liver and from previous results a mass was seen in the liver How will you know for certain that it’s from the liver A liver biopsy would give a 100% result, but they have no intention of further distressing the patient by doing a liver biopsy as they already have all the info that they need |
Originalsly:What else do you seriously want me to tell you? The LCC doctors consulted their counterparts in NY. They must have sent the CT scan alongside lab results to them. We are not privy to that Info and what you quoted was exactly what we received when we followed back with Q/A session with DJ's Dr I honestly don't know what else you want me to say or do |
adahtony:Check this email acc: cj_achonwa@yahoo.com I believe your entry was sent from that email account PS: You are one of the 5 that made it through to the second round |
adahtony:Check this email acc: cj_achonwa@yahoo.com I believe your entry was sent from that email account |
Eneze1:To be honest we don't know just yet. We have a quote from LCC which will definitely deplete the budget hence why we are looking at other alternatives before committing ourselves. We are hoping to come up with an option paper within the next day or two so everyone can decide on best way forward. |
Originalsly:Answers to some of the questions we asked the Dr treating him How do you know which chemo drugs to use bearing in mind we don’t know where the cancer is coming from? – They know from the ascetic fluid cytology report that the cancer is an adenocarcinoma. Chemo is systemic and they will use the drug that kills adenocarcinomas. According to him, adenocarcinomas usually come from the liver and the colon and since the colon is clear (from colposcopy results) its more likely from the liver and from previous results a mass was seen in the liver How will you know for certain that it’s from the liver A liver biopsy would give a 100% result, but they have no intention of further distressing the patient by doing a liver biopsy as they already have all the info that they need Should Hameed still be on Anti TB drugs with the Chemo Yes! – This is one of the reasons they contacted USA to get a steer on this and the US have advised that he continues with the anti TB drugs. The TB drugs are antibiotics and so he can’t stop them mid-way and he needs to complete the course. |
Blessed Mother just sent a donation of $350 to specifically help cater for DJ's mum. An annoynmous NLer has also agreed to add the extra N30K. Our acountant will make the funds available ASAP Thanks blessed mother for your support |
gbadexy:I'm sorry I'm unable to give you that assurance. However, empowerment is part of our broad plan and we will visit and execute it at appropriate time. DJ's physical health remains our primary concern at this time. |
@DJ Expect my call this morning |
gbadexy:Our primary concern is his health hence why we've devoted all our resources towards that. 100k 200k or whatever isn't the problem. Having the time to ensure that 100k goes towards the intended purpose is. We only have one field worker working on this case. We've always accomodated his need to have cash hence the numerous entries for feeding or what not on the itemised bill. Your points are duly noted |
The Prof is obviously smart enough not to endorse any candidate so as not to divert attention from the real issues. It's evidently obvious from the article that GEJ has failed on all measurable indicators. Question is, why bring back a failure to only hope for a better future? |
DJDOLA:DJ, always good to know you are in good spirit. You shall pull through Insha Allah I remembered discussing with you and your brother sometime back that we do have a plan to provide some sort of support mechanism for you whilst you get better. This support mechanism is non other than empowerment but it's very difficult to plan for if we don't have a likely cost of your treatment. As it stands, the reason why you are going to luth today is to see if we can get the chemotherapy done cheaper at that hospital. The quote for the proposed treatment at LCC would have meant us depleting the budget to the tune of almost 1M within a 3 weeks timespan (though we might not have a choice if that's the best way forward) and no guarantees that it had be restricted to that. Keep strong and keep fighting |
" My advice to President Jonathan and his handlers is to stop wasting their time trying to campaign on his job record. Those who have decided to vote for him will not do so because he has taken Nigeria to the moon. His record on the economy is a clear ‘F’ grade." |
