@jaybee3, pls explain the process again. How many days per session? Weekends or weekdays? LUTH or unknown hospital? Is there a ppssibility of the hospital being outside Lagos?
I believe each session will be completed in a day and he is to have 6 sessions in total.
The location of LCC hospital is Lekki (That’s if the general consensus is to endorse Treatment Option 1)

Pls sir can i change my email address? The email address i used to send my essay is my aunty's husband email and i dont always have access to it. I have my own email now
You will have to reply with that email to notify us of the change request. Just plead with your aunty's husband to allow you use it this one time.

I'm afraid we wouldn't be able to proceed with your application further if you don't request the formal change as advised

Now u are talking. So we need 6 volunteers to work with u guys.
Our involvement as a group will be restricted to financial management. The 6 volunteers will be given specific task to accompany him for his chemo sessions as well as updating the thread with their progress report

DJ, please be rest assured we are not giving up on you.
I will personally come and visit you in the next few weeks.

We want the best for you hence why we are looking for best case scenario for all concerned
HealthRe: RIP DJDOLA- We Will Miss You by jaybee3(m): 7:10am On Jan 27, 2015
Instead of going round in circles, this is what ought to be considered if you guys endorse treatment option 1.

He is expected to have 6 chemo cycles within a span of 18 weeks.

The chemo cycle is once every other 3 weeks

6 new people can volunteer to accompany him then share the scheduling among themselves (1 volunteer for each chemo cycle).

The volunteers will have the responsibility to update on proceedings at the end of each chemo cycle

No way
You cannot take on future cases after abandoning this one.
I haven't seen you handle any case( I wasn't part of any cases you handled in the past)
This is my intro to Tehns and I may not be alone on that

How can you be with this young for over two months to get through testings and diagnosis and back out at the treatment phase?
That is unconscionable
I'm afraid it's not in your place to decide what we can or can't do.
TeHN was set up because a group of individuals with common goal to help those in need decided to put a structure together in order to achieve set goals.
That desire still remains and our support group has grown beyond NL

Do you need a new field worker or you guys just wanna back out?
We need a new team that can oversee the critical phase

Election time are notoriously dangerous so please sheath your sword
HealthRe: RIP DJDOLA- We Will Miss You by jaybee3(m): 6:46pm On Jan 26, 2015
It's almost impossible for us to change our decision simply because we can't function without a field worker on ground. We currently have 3 field workers on our team out of which 2 are full time workers.

The 3rd field worker who has had to put his life on hold for this noble cause now have other pressing issues which practically means we are unable to function effectively as we would have liked on this case going forward.

We were never set up to work on cases that will demand this much resource as our strengths are somewhat restricted to planning and coordination due to obvious reasons.

It's very important that we focus on the options provided so we can find an adequate/sufficient plan for the next critical phase

Which means tehn won't venture into health related matters in d future?

Pls tell me, is this d end of tehn?

Cos I'm thinking;
1. If tehn said they don't want to be involved again, that means they will not handle any other case again on nairaland.
2. Why was tehn established?
This is not the end of TeHN.
We are currently working through all formalties for our registration

We are also deeply into the later stages of the TNRI scholarship scheme.

Thank u. No twisting of words. We are still saying the same thing

Anyways, was in contact with my friend (Brian's dad) today and he's still insisting if possible we send the report to a particular surgeon in India to look into it. TEHN can that b possible? Whether we can look on the India option
We implore you to concentrate on the options provided at this time as it's very important especially to help shape the next treatment phase.

Whatever the house decides after the stipulated 24hrs will have the responsibility to make that decision.

Now the picture is becoming clearer. You should be privy to all information if you are representing DJ...it is the duty of a professional doctor to update you. You always talk about the four doctors on team TeHN and how can you guys not ask about what NY said bout the source? Now I am wondering if the 40 page report was ever sent or LCC simply spoke with someone in NY on the phone. There are more questions than answers. You TeHN guys are talking the talk but I'm not at all impressed that you can walk the walk.
Did you even bother to read my post Mr or you are just on a whinning bender?

How do you know which chemo drugs to use bearing in mind we don’t know where the cancer is coming from? –
They know from the ascetic fluid cytology report that the cancer is an adenocarcinoma. Chemo is systemic and they will use the drug that kills adenocarcinomas. According to him, adenocarcinomas usually come from the liver and the colon and since the colon is clear (from colposcopy results) its more likely from the liver and from previous results a mass was seen in the liver

How will you know for certain that it’s from the liver
A liver biopsy would give a 100% result, but they have no intention of further distressing the patient by doing a liver biopsy as they already have all the info that they need

Bro...please...we were told a 40 page report of the tests and whatever was sent to NY for a second opinion. I am asking if from the info you guys sent....if NY was able to pinpoint the source of the cancer. Why would you give the above response about what you asked and what the local doctor said? ...why evade the question? ...why continue to play hide and seek with crucial information that can make the picture clear and for us to move forward?
What else do you seriously want me to tell you?
The LCC doctors consulted their counterparts in NY. They must have sent the CT scan alongside lab results to them.
We are not privy to that Info and what you quoted was exactly what we received when we followed back with Q/A session with DJ's Dr

I honestly don't know what else you want me to say or do

Thanks jayBee3 for the information. I will like to ask if we will need to donate more for his treatment
To be honest we don't know just yet. We have a quote from LCC which will definitely deplete the budget hence why we are looking at other alternatives before committing ourselves.

We are hoping to come up with an option paper within the next day or two so everyone can decide on best way forward.

Should Hameed still be on Anti TB drugs with the Chemo
Yes! – This is one of the reasons they contacted USA to get a steer on this and the US have advised that he continues with the anti TB drugs. The TB drugs are antibiotics and so he can’t stop them mid-way and he needs to complete the course.

l doubt his mum would use 200k given to do anything else other than trade and feed the family. so you dont need to worry about the money doing whats its meant for.
l would s appreciate definitive action if possible today. treament without food wont make hamed get better like he should. we read that his mum had to join lawma to feed them having exhausted money for trade on his treatment earlier. so the assistance should be expidited and not give corporate response like " duly noted" without exact promise.
I'm sorry I'm unable to give you that assurance.

However, empowerment is part of our broad plan and we will visit and execute it at appropriate time.
DJ's physical health remains our primary concern at this time.

My brother, setting aside N100,000 for his mum asap shouldnt be too difficult notwithstanding your concerns for his trestment.
Do you know what it took for him to still come out to admit he wanted to ask but doesnt know how too? After treatment, wont he eat? abi doing little things that would reduce unnecessary worries too wont improve his morale and fighting spirit.
l know someone willing to assist in that regards but doesnt want to bypass tehn. l didnt think request like these needed to have been harped on repeatedly. lt doesnt even needed to have been suggested openly before it should have been noticed and done!
Our primary concern is his health hence why we've devoted all our resources towards that.
100k 200k or whatever isn't the problem. Having the time to ensure that 100k goes towards the intended purpose is. We only have one field worker working on this case.
We've always accomodated his need to have cash hence the numerous entries for feeding or what not on the itemised bill.

Your points are duly noted

The Prof is obviously smart enough not to endorse any candidate so as not to divert attention from the real issues. It's evidently obvious from the article that GEJ has failed on all measurable indicators.

Question is, why bring back a failure to only hope for a better future?

Goodmorin NL...olu4live and the d other bros that visit me Yesterday I thank u guys ooo....yes 2 be sincere I realy worried about my mom because she's d one providing food for d family all d money she used for selling foods stuffs in front of our house as been spent on me since I was in hospital before NL takeover... Now sometime she will go and work wit lawma so that d Family can eat...have been want 2 ask TEHN GROUP maybe they can give me like 70k so I can give my mom 2 start is trade back but I don't no how 2 ask them...am realy worried about it I swear if she can get something like 70thousand naira I think that should ok for her 2 start are bussines back
DJ, always good to know you are in good spirit. You shall pull through Insha Allah

I remembered discussing with you and your brother sometime back that we do have a plan to provide some sort of support mechanism for you whilst you get better. This support mechanism is non other than empowerment but it's very difficult to plan for if we don't have a likely cost of your treatment.

As it stands, the reason why you are going to luth today is to see if we can get the chemotherapy done cheaper at that hospital. The quote for the proposed treatment at LCC would have meant us depleting the budget to the tune of almost 1M within a 3 weeks timespan (though we might not have a choice if that's the best way forward) and no guarantees that it had be restricted to that.

Keep strong and keep fighting

My advice to President Jonathan and his handlers is to stop wasting their time trying to campaign on his job record. Those who have decided to vote for him will not do so because he has taken Nigeria to the moon. His record on the economy is a clear ‘F’ grade."
