How can chemo be an option when the location/origin of the cancer hasn't been identified? Chemo in my opinion should be crossed out, and palliative treatment should be our focus.

They primary location has been narrowed down to the liver but they don't want to perform a biopsy on the liver as it will make him weaker

You are the ones communicating with the doctors and serve as the middle men so when a question is directed to TeHN it is for TeHN to pass it on to the doctors and give a feedback. Did the doctors at LCC tell us about the 18 week chemo treatment? ...you guys told us...were you doctors then to tell us?...and now a question is asked and you can't give an answer because you are not doctors? In my first request for this info I specifically said I expected you to get the answers from the doctors...and here you are spewing what I wanted to avoid. If you weren't told nor asked about EXPECTED outcomes then just say so. I know no doctor would ever guarantee any outcome....but at least they should state their expectations and that's all I'm asking.

I will try to ignore all the inconsequential gibberish you typed cos for a fact, i'd already told you on this same thread that the doctors expect him to respond to the planned chemo treatment.

Why hound me further when you know they won't be able to give assurances on possible outcomes.
At the end of the day they can only try!

When is the first chemo session? I believe that we can communicate Craig's request to the doctors at LCC.

I believe the hospital will give us a schedule once we formally notify them of our intention. We are only required to give them 24hrs notice.

Exactly but medically doctors are somewhat restricted to that as a way of controlling/eradicating the deadly thing with absolutely no guarantees.

Most people with such prognosis are usually treated as an EoL patient

It's very important that we all put heads together and endorse a plan ASAP since:
1) Hammed is very frail
2) There is the risk that it keeps spreading
3) We don't have any more time for arguments as it's very important that he embarks on whatever treatment plan the house endorses immdediately

We have repeatedly told you we are not his doctors. We have painstakingly relayed every single bit of information we hold but yet you keep asking us expected outcome when the patient has been diagnosed with a stage 4 cancer

Do you want us to cook up things for you because i'm struggling to understand your continuous hammering about this same issue.

We are not experts on predictive outcomes of medical cases and our expertise lays elsewhere!

BTW: Nothing stops you from calling the doctors at LCC to confirm if we've been econominical with information shared and ask any other specific questions you may have!

Can i please suggest we focus on the suggested treatment options for now.

That's actually the most important decision we have to make so that all energy can be focused directly towards a common channel

We all need to work together to achieve our goal as it's in the best interest of DJ

@jaybee3, pls explain the process again. How many days per session? Weekends or weekdays? LUTH or unknown hospital? Is there a ppssibility of the hospital being outside Lagos?

I believe each session will be completed in a day and he is to have 6 sessions in total.
The location of LCC hospital is Lekki (That’s if the general consensus is to endorse Treatment Option 1)

Instead of going round in circles, this is what ought to be considered if you guys endorse treatment option 1.

He is expected to have 6 chemo cycles within a span of 18 weeks.

The chemo cycle is once every other 3 weeks

6 new people can volunteer to accompany him then share the scheduling among themselves (1 volunteer for each chemo cycle).

The volunteers will have the responsibility to update on proceedings at the end of each chemo cycle

This is my intro to Tehns and I may not be alone on that

How can you be with this young for over two months to get through testings and diagnosis and back out at the treatment phase?
That is unconscionable

I'm afraid it's not in your place to decide what we can or can't do.
TeHN was set up because a group of individuals with common goal to help those in need decided to put a structure together in order to achieve set goals.
That desire still remains and our support group has grown beyond NL

It's almost impossible for us to change our decision simply because we can't function without a field worker on ground. We currently have 3 field workers on our team out of which 2 are full time workers.

The 3rd field worker who has had to put his life on hold for this noble cause now have other pressing issues which practically means we are unable to function effectively as we would have liked on this case going forward.

We were never set up to work on cases that will demand this much resource as our strengths are somewhat restricted to planning and coordination due to obvious reasons.

It's very important that we focus on the options provided so we can find an adequate/sufficient plan for the next critical phase

2. Why was tehn established?

This is not the end of TeHN.
We are currently working through all formalties for our registration

We are also deeply into the later stages of the TNRI scholarship scheme.

Anyways,was in contact with my friend (Brian's dad) today and he's still insisting if possible we send the report to a particular surgeon in India to look into it. TEHN can that b possible? Whether we can look on the India option

We implore you to concentrate on the options provided at this time as it's very important especially to help shape the next treatment phase.

Whatever the house decides after the stipulated 24hrs will have the responsibility to make that decision.

How do you know which chemo drugs to use bearing in mind we don’t know where the cancer is coming from? –
They know from the ascetic fluid cytology report that the cancer is an adenocarcinoma. Chemo is systemic and they will use the drug that kills adenocarcinomas. According to him, adenocarcinomas usually come from the liver and the colon and since the colon is clear (from colposcopy results) its more likely from the liver and from previous results a mass was seen in the liver

How will you know for certain that it’s from the liver
A liver biopsy would give a 100% result, but they have no intention of further distressing the patient by doing a liver biopsy as they already have all the info that they need

The LCC doctors consulted their counterparts in NY. They must have sent the CT scan alongside lab results to them.
We are not privy to that Info and what you quoted was exactly what we received when we followed back with Q/A session with DJ's Dr

I honestly don't know what else you want me to say or do
