Exactly. In a reasonable healthcare system, this would have been done already. His family really should be front and center in the decision making process to be honest. At this time, it doesn't even sound like any of them or even DJ know what's really going on or the prognosis which is quite shameful on the part of the doctors.

sounds like a plan. l hope his mum has been availed of the donations and if palliative treatment isnt as costly as chemotherapy, can a more comprehensive empowerment plans be made to consolidate on quality of life.

l blame tehn in thus regards also for not taking the initiative to get a qualified person to councel him. l did hint at it a couple if times on this thread.
Finally, if we want to be sincere, chemo is not an option at this stage.
more alternate treatment plans is welcomed and please leave the tb joshua suggestion out of the options.

How do you know which chemo drugs to use bearing in mind we don’t know where the cancer is coming from? –
They know from the ascetic fluid cytology report that the cancer is an adenocarcinoma. Chemo is systemic and they will use the drug that kills adenocarcinomas. According to him, adenocarcinomas usually come from the liver and the colon and since the colon is clear (from colposcopy results) its more likely from the liver and from previous results a mass was seen in the liver

How will you know for certain that it’s from the liver
A liver biopsy would give a 100% result, but they have no intention of further distressing the patient by doing a liver biopsy as they already have all the info that they need

How can chemo be an option when the location/origin of the cancer hasn't been identified? Chemo in my opinion should be crossed out, and palliative treatment should be our focus.

This is the arrogance that leads to all the back and forth on this thread. I've been asking and getting no response . Don't I know that you guys are not medical experts? You are the ones communicating with the doctors and serve as the middle men so when a question is directed to TeHN it is for TeHN to pass it on to the doctors and give a feedback. Now here you are telling me to call LCC. Did the doctors at LCC tell us about the 18 week chemo treatment? ...you guys told us...were you doctors then to tell us?...and now a question is asked and you can't give an answer because you are not doctors? In my first request for this info I specifically said I expected you to get the answers from the doctors...and here you are spewing what I wanted to avoid. If you weren't told nor asked about EXPECTED outcomes then just say so. I know no doctor would ever guarantee any outcome....but at least they should state their expectations and that's all I'm asking.

@TeHN......I'm asking yet again....what is the EXPECTED outcome of this 18 week full treatment?...is it that he would be pain free for the duration?...is it he would be cancer free?....is it the cancer would be beaten back to stage 1? Only you guys can answer this so can you do so before you fade into the background?
