barcanista: Exactly, the point! They should have nipped it to the bud earlier. I don't think my post doubted the General. Why should they expend energy on something that's as clear as Bleep? The constitution requires a minimum of SSCE or equivalent. I'm pretty sure they would have addressed the non issue if the minimum requirement was strictly SSCE |

This is so annoying. Worse still that all people can see are the parties involved. For heaven sake why would anybody THROW food at people? Food!! Are they goats we're trying to lure into a trap biko? It's only a heartless beast who would take advantage of a peoples' plight to advance their plans. And if Nigerians cannot see we have a bigger problem in our hands, something worse than our senseless politics, then we're even in bigger sh*t than I thought. Rather unfortunate that our elected leaders don't give a rat arse about us but we need to instill values of self respect and content in our kids |

@OP You are not smarter than those that put the constitution together and set SSCE or equivalent has a minimum requirement ma'am. Besides, educaional qualifications isn't necessarily a best judge of ability and this same General has proven with documented evidence of how great a leader he has and can be.
Of what use is having a Phd and not being able to communicate strategic plans and/or motivate his employees effectively.
I honestly don't know why Nigerian's focus more on paper qualifications. |

red101: Maybe when this is all over, THeN should come up with a concrete mission statement and strategic plan to guide in ways to make the organization more efficient going forward. this is important because people will stop contributing their hard earned money if they don't see results. or if they thought that their previous contributions went to waste. We do have a mission statement and our strategic goals and plans are published on our page => https://www.nairaland.com/1315227/e-helpers-network-tehn-official-threadObviously there is always room for improvement and we welcome suggestions on our to make us better. We always asses each individual case before taking it on board after which we set measurable targets to measure success at each stage of our agreed/published plan. I’m only highlighting this because you mentioned not seeing results which is factually incorrect. You can view some of the cases (Please focus on the summary report) we’ve been involved with on our page red101: Maybe it's just me but I don't like the idea of emergency fund raising esp on a very large platform as this. It leads to issues. it's better to have a pool of funds already (through yearly general fundraisers etc) and then with a clear head, one can choose good candidates (the criteria should be laid out in the strategic plan which should be drafted by board members). assess their needs (I think patients should already have a diagnosis or needs that are clearly articulated before coming to THeN for help. again this is a criteria that should already be created) set a budget, timeline and go through with helping them. This will lead to less worry about money or being defrauded by doctors or getting new diagnosis updates that leads to surprises about the amount of money needed, lack of information that leads to panic and confusion etc.
Overall, this is a really great effort and i'm very impressed by Nairaland. WOW We have long realised that our modus operandi which is slightly reactive might not be as effective as we would like but we are now putting systems/steps in place to address this. Some of the steps we are putting in place is to: 1) Formal registration of the group as a charity organisation 2) Once we achieve the registration, we will then proceed to open a dedicated account that can be audited periodically when needed Thanks for the feedback though |

Matthewbriggs: What you are implying are way wrong because, First I never stated explicitly that GEJ cannot communicate.
I simply stated it is an area that needs improvement. He needs to build and effective communication strategy.
Just like I have to stretch my ears to understand what buhari is saying and also if left unguarded by his PR team he would make really controversial statement.
In the same vien GEJ needs to improve on his ability to communicate his actions to Nigerian.
Moreover the fact even with this weakness he has been able to achieve what he has done so far gives me more hope because the moment he does overcome this weakness the sky would be his limit.
GEJ has not failed ... The road to transforming Nigeria can't not happen over night. You stated explicitly that he lacks communication skills. That’s his weakness which is actually a major drawback in terms of his qualities as a good effective leader. Your intellect, ideas and strategies is as good as Bleep with weak/bad communication skills. It's not something that you can compensate for when putting yourself up for leadership. His gaffes are legendary and I just can’t see how he is able to motivate others when he simply can’t motivate himself |

Matthewbriggs: Don't just say I makes no sense. Prove it.
Quote it and dispute it with a supsuperior argument.
If you actually read my post you would stumble on where I stated GEJ's weakness is his in ability to communicate effectively. IF that's his biggest weakness then he is simply a failure. A leader should be able to communicate effectively. Yes he can delegate but how would he communicate his directions effectively to those he delegated to if communication is his Achilles heel? His lack of communication skills mean is he rubbish at the following: He has a very poor body language meaning he won’t be able to convince his employees that his ideas and/or instructions are justified He is a weak negotiator meaning he is easily pushed around He is going to be bad at listening meaning he will be out of touch with reality Why should we vote a weak leader to govern a complex nation such as ours? He doesn’t inspire anyone but his cronies If you going to be honest with yourself, would you choose GEJ has someone you can look up to as a man. What qualities does he even have that one can borrow from GEJ has failed and it’s ridiculous that as a nation we sit about and celeberate mediocre developments when we should be demanding accountability at all times. |

Teespice: can't you see the motive for reducing fuel price.
trust me, it would go up once he gets reelected, that's if he would ever be reelected. Politics aside, the price movement is being determined by the downward movement in oil prices so technically he can't just raise prices after election if the downward pressure persist The real question is, have they removed the subsidy completely as I don't see how they can justify increasing subsidy during testing times |

I Babymama1: For the most part people, chemotherapy is about the only viable option left in stage 4 cancers if recommended Chemotherapy is a strong medication that is given through the vein and also orally to kill off rapidly dividing cells and cancers are basically rapidly dividing cells but sadly they also kill off the patients good cells which makes them dangerous. Stage 4 means the cancer has spread to distant sites and most patients in stage 4 die within a short time. Some cancers have better prognosis than others The handicap here is not knowing where his primary tumor is,that is the saddest aspect of all this. IMHO I believe having read all the recent posts by jaybee ,taking DJ to India at this time may not be wise Let's be realistic If there is someone that will give an open check,we may try but I believe that if we are depending on public solicitations to make this work,we may bite more than we can chew. Have u mailed them the current update before jumping its all about chemo? I'm not jumping into conclusions. We have pictorial evidence from the CT scan that validates the claim from the LCC doctors. The India doctors were consulted for different treatments considering the fact that people initinally thought he needed a liver transplant. We are going to contact them again with the latest results and if chemotherapy is all they can offer then it's a frank No No |
