It seems the fear of jefferson predicament is why no politician wants to be seen near her.

I'm almost certain you wasted all his money on zilch education since you can't seem to understand the simple fact that she wasn't on a state visit My new take is that you had better go and fill your porous brain with some Akpu or something since it's alarmingly obvious you are a waste pipe |

repogirl: by questionable level of happiness, you definitely term 'happiness' to mean wealth. Happiness isn’t necessarily wealth BUT happiness to my family looks like the following: Being able to send our kids to the best school Being able to match our needs and want with a great degree of affordability Being able to have above par level of comfort repogirl: I still believe family first. Even Michelle Obama had to give up a promising law career to focus on her family. She chaired a few boards and earned some income but it was nothing compared to what she would have gained if she had continued with law. Are we still talking about the common man here or we going to pluck anomalies and paint it as the norm? How much was Obama earning at the time? She could have earned more is a probability which frankly can’t be factored into the equation. It made economic sense at the time to support his dream because he was probably earning enough at the time or they had earned enough to allow them focus on his election. Barack was earning around $150K per annum at the time which clearly is upper middle class It’s simple logic to expect a partner to focus on other things if money isn’t/wasn’t an issue repogirl: Maybe there isn't a proven hard and fast rule to successful relationships but if people chose to focus on their kids/family instead of wealth(success), maybe things could be different and true success could be achieved. Finance is a key part of family so it’s impossible to ignore it when it’s clearly the second most important reason for divorce after infidelity |

Teespice: if you have a business which is growing or is under the brink of collapse, wouldn't you do everything necessary even if it involves wooing or begging (in extreme cases) just to get investors?
you cannot have a business and expect that investors look for you. it is you who has to go source for investors even if it means meeting them at their locations
have in mind that this is no BS as you put it. what fashola is simply doing is making things work ie the average Joe having electricity and what not. if going to other countries, delivering speeches and convincing the outside world to invest in the electricity sector is the way to go, provided that the funds are used for the intended purpose and is not diverted, then it is way to go.
phew. Why are you wasting your time with the dude He is still unable to define his so called serious investors Investors that make real impact are: Institutional Investors and those aligned under the foreign direct investors He has failed to explain why they wouldn't benefit from listening to the govt policies and in turn possibly lobby him to make necessary concessions that might be the game changer He stupidly thinks networking events are only about sales pitches when it's clear communication also includes effective listening |

repogirl: you see how you are going off on a tangent unnecessarily?
Yes, the realities of life interfere with how the family should be run naturally and noone is disputing that but still we shouldn't make excuses and allow the dysfunctionality of the system to affect our families.
Ofcourse, life derails our plans but still basic things should be put in place to build a thriving home. Ask your fictional characters Joe and Cynthia if they prefer to put their careers before the collective happiness of the family.
I know for a fact that no man/woman enjoys being alone while their spouse is far away working for long periods of time and most women don't enjoy leaving their kids for long periods of time. I know this because I'm a mother and I am married.
These things happen, agreed but doesn't make it right. Our current system and all that is going on in the world today is attestation to the fact that there is something wrong in our families.
Ofcourse noone is forcing anyone to adhere to the basic principles of building a family. As you say, people should be flexible, but in that flexibility, put your family first before career or whatever else. I’m sure I didn’t go off tangent since the scenario explained is what many go through in the pursuit of good life. Success requires flexibility except it’s okay to accept status quo so the family can have a questionable level of happiness. Yes no family will be happy being separated. I’m also certain you need to be flexible with your approach to achieve ultimate success Bottom line which I’m sure you now agree is, there really isn’t a hard and fast rule to having a successful relationships. You have to do whatever it takes to achieve the collective defined success. |

Onegai: Pastor Adeboye's view is too simplistic. Anyone can pray for an hour, cook and hold down a job. That doesn't make them fit for marriage. Finances actually tend to destroy marriage more than domestic skills, so I wonder why we keep harping on the latter as the be-all and end-all to a good marriage. And as for men expecting their wives to contribute financially to the success of the family, very true. Women should also expect men to contribute domestically to the success of the family. If I'm working fulltime, giving my kids the best of my talents as a mother, I will be too exhausted to be the world's greatest wife, because I'm a human being and I'm allowed to get tired. So my husband should step up and share that burden, same as we share the financial burden. Because things have changed, most of us grew up with an extended family unit as kids so our parents didn't hire maids but now we are very much a nuclear unit in our society. We are saying the same thing. A successful marriage requires collective input and it ought not to be defined since the players are expected to navigate curveballs during the marriage. Having a mindset that the man should always be the provider cannot work since you can’t necessairly mitigate against a curveball such as one losing their Job/main source of income. So many families are struggling because they’ve stupidly relied on a single income financial module. Same goes for the man that doesn’t want to contribute domestically or whatever when clearly it’s almost impossible to marry a do it all robot/slave. |

repogirl: Men should be able to cater for the home and women should be able to care for the home. The Pastor addressed both needs clearly. Says who? Just imagine how ridiculous your statement is when clearly that rule cannot be set in stone because of obvious world/economic dynamics Here is an example for you to ponder on: Should Joe blogg leave his wife who is temporarily working away in the middle east just because she can’t perform her duty of taking care of the home that includes a young child? Should Cynthia Blogg who struggled hard to earn an MSc in Engineering degree with years of experience abandon her career because according to you Joe blogg is meant to cater for the home? Should Joe Blogg be allowed to develop avoidable stress just because he isn’t able to earn enough money to support the collective dream of the family? I would plead with you to embed the spirit of flexibility in you if you aren’t currently married as that’s a recipe for disaster |

repogirl: This is simple logic. Noone is asking you to be rich. Just have a job or something legal doing that makes end meet before considering marriage.
What's so hard to grasp there? It's hard to grasp when you restrict the need for the man alone. |

zicoraads: I don't think the pastor goofed. People have the tendency to sensationalize statements like this and pick only the lines that interests them. He certainly did because economic realities and advent of gender equality has changed the dynamics of historical phenomenon. zicoraads: Let's face it, it is the man's responsibility to cater for his family. It shouldn't be the wife's duty. That’s the exact mind-set that makes most men demigods in Naij. Success marriages requires flexibility and collective effort. You don’t go into a marriage to define roles and responsibilities. It’s simply a team effort zicoraads: If it becomes hers, then the man is no longer the head of the family. He didn't say the woman too should stay idle, but her role should be complimentary and not the one in charge of providing finances. Finance shouldn’t be the determinant factor of who becomes the head of the family. That’s a recipe for disaster. The head of the family should be the one with supreme leadership qualities. It’s simply as simple as that zicoraads: What I think he was trying to discourage is this recent trend of some men trying to shift the total financial responsibility of the family to their wives. A man trying to shift financial responsibility is a lazy man. However, it’s technically possible for the woman to earn more than the man so do you expect the man to slave away so he can be your so called head of the family when clearly the dividend of the marriage will be equally shared You simply have to understand you can’t generalise a statement when the context could be easily interpreted differently |

AntiWailer: Seriously why should a man without a job marry ?
It is lack of conscience that makes a jobless man have a hard on.
His mind should be too occupied to have an errecction. Why should a man with a job marry a liability? Dynamics of the world with respect to earnings and expenditure as changed so it's the norm that couples contribute to the success of the family. The pastor goofed with the message even though his intention had to do with importance of finance in marriages. Expect his gullible followers to start demanding heaven and earth when clearly there isn't a lot of eligible bachelors to choose from |

agabaI23: Nop, I am not saying that. Did you read my post where i said that any looter should pay up or be ready to face the law? Whats the point telling me about 217?
I knew you would bring the issues of those two and remember i asked whose company was sealed before Bens? Sealing only 2 coys after Silverbird is just to tell the public, it is not just him.
Go check the list published by Sanusi and see who topped. Dangote. He is still there dnd give us s proof he has paid off or he us servicing it.
I am above petty arguments yea. I am also above the deception of APC. Why is no one investigating Buntai for starters?
Are you telling me that 217 current members of PDP are the only rogue politicians?
Like i said before, let the rogues vomit their loots however you should not use the so called fight against corruption which is openly sectional to silence opposition. If you dont see it in that light you are being insincere because i know you are smart. It's unrealistic to expect all 217 debtors to be members of APC It's also unrealistic to expect a business man like dangote with unserviceable loan to not have crippled the banks they were sourced from. Besides, dangote is a listed company meaning all their profits and liabilities are expected to published yearly. It's even laughable for anyone to think the anticorruption campain won't be disproportionate since the principal actors in previous years were in PDP Having said that though, the likes of buratai and dambazau shouldn't be exempted from probes |

agabaI23: Jaybee I dey.
Dangote is owing. No one has sealed his business. Most big businesses use people's money to make money. Otedola etc Now my problem is not the so called fight against corruption. Anyone who has governments money should pay up or be taken care of by the law.
My issue is when we have evidence mounting against those who are close to Buhari and EFCC, AMCON, DSS etc look the other way.
Then they selectively pick up the vocal cords of the almost none existent opposition.
They went for his bad debt because they could not trace the yeye security vote to him.
Is he the only company owing AMCON? How many have been sealed before his own? You are beyond petty argument my guy. Some things are as clear as day freaking light There is a clear difference between Owing/servicing the debt and Owing/not servicing the debt Didn't AMCON seize Wale Babalakin's assets? Didn't they seize dantata's assets? Why must everything be politicized even if the actors are clearly in the wrong Are you telling me all 217 rogues on this list are being witch hunted? |
