cckris:
Market PRICE is more powerful than propaganda. The cost of shipping Tomatoes from Katsina to Lagos will determine retail price, when other prices are escalating because of Buhari's personal desire to CONTROL & COMMAND every Nigerian like a battalion commander.
The masses on the street will chase Buhari out of Nigeria if he doesn't CHANGE his medieval mindset.
So the cost of production doesn't determine market price right?

So the policies formalised to help stimulate the agric sector won't help the cost of production?

If they fix the rail transport system and increase tomato paste production, it still won't help?

Some of you are just impossible

PoliticsRe: See The Surprising Thing I Discovered In Ministry Of Solid Minerals' Budget. by jaybee3(m): 10:25am On May 12, 2016
They have provided clarification on the budget Item na haba!!!!!

The attention of the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development has been drawn to media reports concerning an aspect of the proposed 2016 budget line item of the Ministry with the description “Website Upgrade”. The Ministry has been inundated with requests from well-meaning Nigerians seeking clarifications on the N795, 234,275.00 purportedly budgeted for the website upgrade.
In preparation for the 2016 budget, a clear gap highlighted in the work of the Ministry was the need to improve the IT infrastructure and adopt appropriate technology to automate the operations of the Ministry and its agencies.
A number of activities were conceived by the Ministry to address the gaps. These include the acquisition of adequate ICT infrastructure to ensure all required data and business processes are efficiently, effectively and transparently handled. It also involves automation and management of the mining rights/titles with on-line application processing, status tracking and open section for verification of valid mining licenses.
This is to be done through the deployment of an Enterprise Resource Planning Solution across the 10 agencies and 12 departments under the Ministry.
These were submitted to the Budget Office which summarized it as “WEBSITE UPGRADE” which is only a component of the project. This is an error of description. The budget line was intended to address the overall ICT infrastructure improvement in the Ministry and its agencies.

Teespice:
re: your second to last paragraph.

so you are saying that there are crimes "associated" with igbos abi?

crime is crime irrespective of which tribe commits it. pinning specifics on one person or tribe is so unfair.
Why did you disregard the adjective?

I said mostly because crime stats on drug smuggling paints a grim picture on my Igbo brothers
CultureRe: Ever Seen An Igbo Begging For Alms?(photo) by jaybee3(m): 12:48pm On May 11, 2016
HochZeit:
Thank you all for your comments. I would appreciate it if we can communicate our views on issues without giving it an ethnic hue.

I respect every tribe in this our great country. Each one has its uniqueness. The Yorubas are liberal and accomodating. The Igbos are hardworking and invective. I would rather focus on their strength.

Regarding the issue in discuss, the points to consider are:

1)Would an igbo woman with triplets beg for alms in Igboland before her kits abd kin, considering this is alien to Igbo culture? Forget the Lagos choir singers!

2) Is this woman the true mother of the triplets?

Please objective comments without ethnic jabs are welcome.

cc: modath, jaybee3
I’m pretty sure you must have been told never to look at issues from a narrow view point. Your assertion is worryingly one sided when I could have easily flipped it by asking a rather provoking question on:
1) Are the Igbos reluctant to help their own?
2) Are they only interested in exploitation of resources by way of Oga/Servant business model?
3) Is the unhealthy competition that exist between the Igbo fueling the inability of their vulnerable people to ask for help as at when needed
CultureRe: Ever Seen An Igbo Begging For Alms?(photo) by jaybee3(m): 10:55am On May 11, 2016
The OP definitely didn’t think this through hard enough before opening the thread.

Is it safe to conclude that they had rather engage in criminality rather than beg?

That’s seriously uncool

I’d rather beg than do the crimes that are mostly associated with my Igbo brothers

Why would anyone even think begging is bad. We all need a little help here and there and it’s unfortunate Nigeria State does not have any welfare support whatsoever to the most vulnerable

Sir, please is it easily possible for one to stay back n work in d UK after masters? Compared to other countries like canada
Unlikely but not impossible

I wouldn’t take such risk with an MSc in Public Health since you are almost certainly not going to earn more than 21K or thereabout as a fresh graduate. I think the earning threshold for work permit applicants have been raised so too much of a risk

You are better off with Canada

Are you saying it's acceptable to evade tax and rather use the money to pay tithe than use it for humanity sake?

It's already inconsiderate and insensitive taxing a benevolent act. You'll agree me that even Christians evade tax yet don't care about humanity with their wealth.
