otabuko: I understand BUHARI wants to fight corruption, but you can't just do everything at a time, after him, someone else might continue the fight, I suggest he forgo that Tompolo man and focus, his boys will be costing us a lot... Just listen to yourself for crying out loud.... Geez, how do you people reason for heavens sake Nigeria as a country has laws and no man should be above the laws of the land It's counterproductive to allow a proven criminal walk free just because we don't want to lose the ball. Buhari has delegated adequate responsibilities to our newly reinvigorated and refocused law enforcement officers so how then would he lose focus except you are worried about the financial resolution he might be using for crime fighting |

Be a responsible citizen and stop acting like a butt hurt mofo all over the place You keep getting erection on reading/hearing Buhari's name whereas these guys are having sleepless nights to realign, refocus and in turn propel the country for ungrateful souls |

mavverick: I know that estate very very well like the back of my hand, and the house in question is one that Brabus was constructing before the owner ran into issues, I dont know the full story but it could well be that brabus defrauded the guy soooote he ran out of cash ! I would not be surprised !
Now, I can provide you with the details of the landlord association within the estate and some other prominent figures in the estate, and you can locate the details of the property for sale. Just try to avoid BRABUS, a word is enough for the wise.
Also, you can PM me and I can answer most questions you have about Lekki county estate, i have been somewhat involved in it for over 6 years now. So at least I can help you with info if you want it obviously, I also hope you are not thinking of building blocks of flats etc in the estate as its not allowed. I believe its either a single occupancy building or semi detached duplexes that are allowed depending on the size of the plot. Thanks for looking out bro |

Bevista: It depends on your understanding of Shock. Sliding commodity prices is also considered as external shock. It doesn't have to be "sudden" in this context for it to be considered shock. --- My earlier comment wasn't about his policy response but about the reality on ground. I still think the CBN response is subpar. I’m fully aware of shock in financial market terms. It’s simply an occurrence of unplanned event with dire consequences for the market hence the increase volatility (Vix index going through the roof). Events such as earthquake, tsunami, terrorist actions in major economies, a big miss in eagerly awaited data (Non farm payroal, GDP et al), unexpected decision by the policy makers (Announcement of more QE, interest rate increase/decrease) blab la bla The projection for commodity prices had always been negative since last year summer considering the Iran effect and stubbornly weekly inventory data showing over supplies In the market. All these forecasts would have been priced in the market hence the usual retracement from the initial reaction. How clued are you with market fundamentals? |
Business › Re: Emefiele Blames Naira Fall On US Policy and Importation by jaybee3(m): 11:55am On Jan 20, 2016 |
Bevista: I think the CBN Governor was on point here. --- Most people may not be aware of the Monetary Policy divergence between the US Fed and most other Central Banks in the world. The US Fed just increased its FFR by 25 basis points and is expected to continue doing so in the coming quarters and years. On the other hand, the CBN just reduced its MPR by 200 basis points. Also, the outlook for the US economy looks better while that of Nigeria looks gloomy. --- For those who understand Finance & Investments, you will appreciate that this has increased the Yield on US financial assets while reducing the yield on Nigerian financial assets. Consequently, foreign portfolio investors (FIP) are moving their funds from Nigeria to the US. As they move out, they are converting Naira to dollars adding to the demand for dollars and the pressure on the Naira. These are "external shocks" completely outside the control of the president or the CBN Governor. The fed raising interest rate wasn’t a shock to the market and must have been priced into the market way before the announcement. The dollar as expected did strengthen but any of such knee jerk reaction must have been met with the continual downward pressure created by commodity prices. What he hasn’t told us is how he intends to close the gap between the official/parallel exchange rate. I strongly believe the imbalance was created largely due to his lack of policy direction. |

charix: I've learned something today.
If that's the case then it's no guarantee he can't do the same. What makes people so sure this government would see him through to imprisonment if he can still bribe his way out? The CJN has made recommendations regarding trial of looters and we expect to see Judges that are fearless and courageous handle the corruption cases. The current public sentiment will make it extremely difficult for any would be corrupt judge to pass ridiculous judgments going forward as far as the corruption cases brought forward by the EFCC is concerned. |

charix: I'm beginning to believe all these trials and arrests're theatrics pulled by the APC to deceive the masses. Why is it after 7 months still no imprisonment? All we still keep hearing are more trials and more arrests. Why is the legal system slow for bigwigs but it didn't take two weeks to lock up my friend for the better part of two years? You go school at all? What has legal system got to do with the government of the day? The judiciary is independent of the government hence the reason why so many looters are able to walk free after paying ridiculous fines |
