ask4double: Again I say Rubbish! why should you allow yourself to be owed as a government worker for up to six months after working? are you working in the governors private firm? what drastic step are the labour unions taking as regards this ugly and barbaric trend by government officials?
A governor that refuses to pay salary after collecting allocation from the federation account and state IGR should be placed under house arrest by these workers. Block the exit and entrance gate of the government house. Yes, they will shoot and throw canisters but hold your ground if you can and let your voice be heard by the international community, coz this is worse than what is currently going on in Libya.
A state of emergency should also be declared in that state and the governor step aside, because a governor that is unable to pay salaries has no business occupying that office.
I bet this will be a wake up call on all salary owing and intending salary owing governors. 12 months is the elastic limit but u hear nothing except strike in kogi, this calls for mass action. |

Lesson dnt depend on ur Salary as ur only source of income
Question for every salary earner
Hw long can you live assuming ur salary is stopped today? 1. One month = u r dead if sacked 2. Six months = u r trying work harder 3. One year = u r on track 4. Six years = u r financially intelligent 5. Forever = u r everyone's dream, with multiple streams of income.
Tips for kogi workers = pls start subsistence farming dts hw our fore fathers survived rather than committing suicide n going to hell. Everyone shld have a farm. |

Family › Re: Do Parents Have A Say In Our Financial Matters? by jaychubi: 9:04am On Nov 27, 2017 |
Windflower: My dad came from a broken home, which somehow ruined his future, he couldn't further in his education which is why he took it upon himself that all six of his children must be educated. Its not been easy for them, they have deprived themselves of social life and many other things. Presently, am the third born but the first graduate which means am the only one working. I and my mum are very close, like I can't even take any decision without consulting her first.
Straight to the point, I started working last year and have been helping out in my own little way, earlier this year I bought a 32inch TV close to 65,000, I gave my brother 40,000 to buy a gadget he needed to learn a skill, mum needed an appliance worth 250,000 and I paid a 35% down payment which she was supposed to be paying the rest installmentally.
Now this morning she called me and said I would help her pay another 30% then she will pay the rest. We were joking just last week, when a message entered my phone and jokingly she said I received an alert of 20million, that I would give her and my dad half of it, my older siblings #2million each while I take the remaining.
Note, I am not a stingy person at all, in fact now am beginning to think she manipulates me because I have a soft spot for her. My older brother once said he won't disclose to her how much he earns when he starts working, but am the opposite, am always transparent towards her.
Recently I told her I want to start an online store, so I can have extra money because my salary doesn't even last me till the end of the month. So telling her this, why should she say I should help her in paying another 30%. She even told me she knows this month salary is booked, cos I promised to give my sister part of her house rent in school, buy drugs for my grandma, so she said I can help her with my November salary.
She even helps me plan it, I don't want this year to go by without doing anything, if I continue like this, then I won't have any savings, my accounts are all red. I could remember when I collected my second salary, I gave half to her so we can buy foodstuff, dad refused and said she should return it that am just starting out so they shouldn't disturb me. Throughout my NYSC I didn't save a dime yet I was collecting state allowance also, I don't spend money lavishly, I know how to manage myself.
All the money I kept sending home. I know its my duty but should our parents hold us Ransome because of all they have done for us cos that's exactly what she meant.
I dunno if am the only one experiencing it, now I know come November I will give her the money which means the plan of starting my own biz would have to wait till next year. I planned on enrolling for my masters degree this year but had to postpone it because I wanted to help out.
Is this how I will continue or what can I do concerning the situation. I am sorry for the long epistle but it was needed. Develop a budget and stick to it, include expenses u make monthly plus compulsory 20% or more for investment. |

Romance › Re: UNILAG Girl Recounts Her "Rape & Beg" Experience With A Man, Unilagolodo by jaychubi: 4:02pm On Nov 26, 2017 |
LadyGoddiva: I cannot even believe the comments I’m reading here. Like are you fuckiñg shitting me?? Even from fellow ladies too? Things is, Nigerians are too close minded and backward thinking. A lot of things can constitute as rape. It’s not only when a random guy abducts you and forcefully has sex with you while you scream and fight back can be considered as rape. The basic thing that defines rape is CONSENT! Whether she was wearing only her panties in the man’s bed, even if she was twerking naked for him, as long as she said NO, then he had no right to try and perform any sexual activities on her. And since when did agreeing to cuddle him automatically imply consent to have sex with him? He even went on to give her orals and strip her. Thing is, even if she may not have fought back, bottom line is, she didn’t want sex to happen. And he went on and did what he wanted anyway. That’s a more subtle kind of rape. Nigerians really need reonrientation of their mindset when it comes to the issue of rape. I’m seeing a lot of bs comments like “why would she go to a guy’s house when it’s not her boyfriend” and “why would she wear only shorts in his bed and why would she sleep on the Same bed with him?” The thing is, irrespective of the circumstance surrounding the story, she didn’t give her consent and the man had sex with her against her wish. It wasn’t consensual sex thus, it can be classified as rape. Too bad she’s just speaking up now. What nonsense is this headless goat talking, next time if u have nothing sensible to say jst shut up ur mouth rather than talking nonsense |

Jkfc: In response to this thread https://www.nairaland.com/4188975/open-letter-all-first-class
Dear Second Class and Third Class students,
It's sad that we had to graduate with that, I wish we can go on Facebook And Twitter and beg for jobs as the first class are doing now. But no, we have to struggle and apply for thousands of job with no hope of getting interview. The challenge is, business right now in Nigeria is so difficult, all the major things that we can produce locally are being imported. Our economy is dwindling, importation business is expensive.
What can we do? If the first class are begging for jobs, what about us? Lalasticlal.a, how do we get the jobs? If first class is begging for jobs in the company of a primary 4 dropout, then dt shld tell ur chicken brain dt we are in an era of sabificate no more certificate. |

Family › Re: Since I Married My Wife, I Have Been Having Bad Luck by jaychubi: 6:17am On Nov 24, 2017 |
ghostfacekillar: I got married about 4 years ago to a lady i courted for about 2 yrs. since then we’ve not had a child, and it has naturally become a source of worry as my parents have not hidden their concern at all.
Now, as a born again christian, I believe in totality that children come from God and he alone gives at his time, but I also know that the bible commands us to ask, seek and knock and that he that asks, receives. But my frustration in this whole thing is the wife I married.
Firstly, for strange reasons, ten months after marrying her, I lost my job of 12yrs, and since then I’ve been struggling to make ends meet. I must thank God for his goodness and mercies all the way. At least there has been no reason to beg anyone.
Secondly, she has strangely refused to support any effort I try to make for progress. She sees things differently with no better alternative to bring on the table and each time I go ahead, she wants it to fail. she’s a graduate who has also refused to do anything for flimsy reasons, not liking a business type, lack of interest with her certificate, not even to teach as an educationist. And for these reasons, we have remained almost always at loggerheads.
Thirdly, in an effort to find solution to our childlessness, she has frustrated every bit of the attempts. She has refused us exhausting medical options insisting that the problem is spiritual. And on the spiritual options, she has been half- heartedly involved. My parents invited us for prayers with a man of God,we got there on my insistence at least to honour them and she ended up embarrassing everyone including my parents as she vehemently refused to stay back for prayers as advised by the Man, and even accusing me of ganging up with them! That was Oct last year. Even if she didn’t believe the man as she claimed, i thought she should have been polite and respectful about it..
Needless to say, my parents have been hurt with her actions since then and wish I can just divorce her. Most frustrating for me is that presently, I’m observing a month long fasting and prayer period.
Even though she claims to be fasting and praying too, she has refused to go with me for prayers in Church for once. Please advice me on what to do as various thoughts keep running through my mind…
I am still very young and i think letting a woman who’s mindset is far below my ambitions will be doing harm to my future. my friend snd this to me. help him Op u don carry bad market say na wife Biologically unproductive Spiritually unproductive Economically unproductive With bad character, complete package of disaster. Take her for full medical examination n u carry out urs too, dt girl may be a retired runs girl without womb. If everything seems good after medical examination then book a deliverance session for her to chase away d spirit husband it's too late |
