Career › What Is Your Definition For Hardwork by jayinfo2(op): 6:35pm On Aug 30, 2017 |
I have heard people saying "You must work hard to make it in life" . every time I try to understand the meaning of working hard. I get more confused comprehending the term.
Does it mean I have to do every available jobs that comes my way or does it mean I have to be very committed to the work I'm doing, all this still doesn't answer the meaning of being hardworking .
In your own term , what is hard work, and is being hard working the only way to achieving success in life.
Keep the views coming. |

Business › Re: Palm Oil Biz.. How I Lost My First Capital by jayinfo2(m): 4:53pm On Aug 06, 2017 |
Oluwapresley: In the last one week, I've read two very strong posts condemning salary earners and encouraging entrepreneurs/investors. In this one week also, I've also seen the amount of praises given to such write ups. I also want to praise entrepreneurship! Yes, but constructively!
Its funny how everyone nowadays gives numbers and statistics on how entrepreneurs make millions monthly but won't say everything that entails those numbers. My mother used to say; "at the end of every year, people see you sell Christmas chickens and they help you count all the money you are making from afar based on every customer that comes... But that's all they would ever know.. What comes in from afar"
That's the kind of picture people paint with almost everything. They paint from a far!
Of course, this call for entrepreneurship/investors is a very good call; however, they are called investors/entrepreneurs for a reason! You can't give what you don't have. Or should I say you can't invest what you don't have! But these posts have Sooooo condemned salary earners and painted sooo ugly a picture about salary earners that no one wants to be a salary earner. Which is a good thing actually but the resultant effect is a negative drive! Yes, a negative drive! People see the numbers you come up with..... I saw a post about a "danfo driver" who makes 1 million naira monthly..lol but the danfo driver never came out to say he makes 1 million naira monthly; our so-called clamourers for independence calculated his income for him..
This creates a negative drive.. That even those who don't have anything to offer start to say I want to be an entrepreneur. Oh, or you think investing entails only money? Investment entails a lot of things, man! From money to time, to knowledge, experience, the right people, luck etc. You can't give what you don't have. You can't invest what you don't have, if not, the result effect is failure!
Starting up something on your own requires sincerity! Are you ready for this? They calculate how much u can make if u were alone.. But I also know a lot of business owners that have lost sooo much and committed suicide! I know of guys that wasted all their money and time pursuing something for the wrong reason.
Investopedia says there is a difference between business owners and entrepreneurs. Not every business owner is an entrepreneur. There are differences and 1 of the difference is "innovativeness''.
If I happened to go back to my 100L days, I probably would Ace all my papers. If I go back to my primary school days, I probably wouldn't go to school at all and I will sit for exams and take the first position! Why do u think this is so? Its called growth!!
There are some guys that would go back to their primary school days and wouldn't still be able to pass their exams..
And there were some other guys that aced everything right from the start..
We need to understand that we are different.. You can't all go at the same pace. Some people need to grow. Grow in knowledge, wisdom, skills, abilities before they can actually do something.. If not, you are only Gonna fail and end up aving a negative mindset about starting up.
We need to realise that salary earners in that sense are also starting up something.. Its not always only about the salary. There are other ingredients you get even as a salary earner to be able to start up somethingu..
I think these posts should be clearer. Sometimes, you have to be a salary earner before you become the almighty investor.. It doesn't mean I've forgotten my dreams.
My mentality might be messed up.. But this is exactly how I feel.. Wao I so love your feedback. It actually makes a lot of sense |

abumeinben: Europe is one region American tech giants dread alot. The tech policies, especially on users security and privacy, is out of this world.
They couldn't just cook up a story to nail Google. Google must have violated a section of the policy and hence, got to pay.
For those condemning the fine, look at this:
You pay a site, say site A, to ad your product. You google a movie to download. Instead of Google to redirect you to the site where the ad is, it goes straight to the file, or bypass the ad page. The person that paid to ad thier products on site A wouldn't do that next time, instead would go straight to google to add their products.
Too bad for site A, right?
On the other news, why is nairaland home page always a problem to load these days? Been experiencing this for the past 3 weeks. Going by your analysis I think ur ideology might be wrong If I am searching I would love to land on my required page and not on another page that would still warrant me looking for what I need . Searching should be able to locate required output at a click |

gemale: My brother , don't let people decide for you. Pray to God & try to deepen your relationship with Him. Study the Holy scripture extensively, focusing on passages that reveal how to crucify the flesh & how to die to self. Always ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten & teach you. Pray, pray & continue praying. if you can, fast so as to mortify your body & bring it under submission. Always rely on God 4 grace & diligently seek His face. Try to be a doer of the words you read In the Bible. Let them be your guide. Let them always resonate in your mind as you do anything, especially when you feel tempted to sin. Then ask Him to direct you to where instructions guiding people to Heaven are being preached. Start by attending churches close to you. When you go, ask God to give you & pray that the Holy Spirit grants you discernment to be able to test the spirit of the messages you hear. 1 core thing you should look for in any church you intend to attend is whether they preach about the cross. Any church that doesn't teach that to follow Christ, 1 should deny himself & pick up his cross in the footsteps of our Lord is being economical with the truth. Avoid places that prioritizes material prosperity, signs & wonders over salvation of the soul. Avoid places where people aren't admonished to forsake iniquity & strive to do the will of God. Don't attend a place just because they have a good choir. The long & short of what i'm saying is let the Holy Spirit & knowledge that heaven is your desired destination be your guide in this decision. thank you so much |

aamstih: It is wonderful that you've come to this realisation.
Some truths needs to be spelt out unambiguously without mincing words, Church commitment is not a panacea to all your problems or challenges, some challenges are life phase related though some could still have a spiritual undertone, in as much as you want to be commited to church your personal relationship/ communion with God is the ultimate.
Commitment to church would aid in edifying your spirit and constant hearing of the word has a way of purging us and we do also know tgat iron sharpeneth iron.
Pls dont assume that going to church is a substitute for use of our brains, hardwork and creativity if you do you would be frustrated and bitter, as you develop your spiritual life which is of utmost importance dont leave behind your academics, career, business or anyother that is applicaple to you, always ensure you take practical steps to your goals and endeavour to commit your ways to God.
As for a church to attend, Feel free to walk into any RCCG church around you, Daystar Christian Centre at Plot A3C Oregun, Ikosi Road, Ikeja is also a place to be, Any Winners Chapel(Living faith), Full life Christian Centre at 110 Obafemi Awolowo Way.
Please if your spirit (inner man) is not at peace in any church you find yourself, there is no need of being there (when I mean peace, I don't mean when their preachings are not sugar coated and its get you unsettled).
In all endeavour to be in a church that has salvation of souls and growing in the word as a priority.
Lets end with three scriptures below:
Heberews 10:25- Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
1 John 4: 1-6 - Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
Proverbs 4:7 -Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
May the almighty keep you and guide your path. God bless you. All the best! Thank you so much I do appreciate this |

limitless777: Bros in all honesty it's like U are yet to know WHO and WHOM U are in Jesus Christ's kingdom and views. BUT that's for another time.
I say THIS because U claim NOT to have the HOLY SPIRIT yet. Oh my world.
Biblically, structurally, and spiritually, THE HOLY SPIRIT is the ONLY thing a Christian needs to receive directions and ANY POWER from GOD ALMIGHTY.
Ask the JEHOVAH GOD ALMIGHTY in Ur closet, WITH UR OWN MOUTH to SEND the HOLY SPIRIT to U and as a/the first SIGN be led to the RIGHT CHURCH made, meant and good for U.
It's as SIMPLE and EASY as that. STAY BLESSED forever in JESUS name. Thank you so much |

MissRaine69: Go to church for the right reasons not to get something beceause the Almighty helps those that are trying to help themselves. Life was never meant to be easy. In your own perspective what is the right reason to attend a church apart from going to get a particular thing from God |

Hello nairaland, please help a brother I just came to a consciousness that I can't do thing's by my power again. I have relied on my capabilities and have failed. Now I know it's only God that can direct me right.
I have made a resolution to get closer to God but I can't do this all by myself
That is the reason I came back to Lagos from the north.
I currently stay at Abule Egba Lagos and I need a good church that I can be committed to and would help my spiritual and physical life even if it is not near Abule Egba. Since I don't have the holy spirit yet to lead me to a good Church.
Please tell me a good church that can bring me back to life.
I really need your help . |

Christianity Etc › Daddy Adeboye Offered The Highest Seat In Ife Palace by jayinfo2(op): 6:39pm On May 17, 2017 |
Pastor EA Adeboye recently visited the Palace of the Ooni of Ife, as the son of the soil, the Ooni of Ife offered Pastor Adeboye the highest and biggest sit in the parlour which is against the rule of the Oba.
Normally, the Oba sits on the highest chair, but this case was different. The Ooni of Ife had this to say:
….”There is only one God which is our Creator…. HE has Representatives here on Earth and Pastor EA Adeboye is one of them, so anytime you see them, Respect and honour them.”
