Now, before he tries it with me, he has to be sure he will win the battle..

acidtalk: I had an early morning meeting with a client today. On getting to his office by 7:30am, he had not yet gotten to the office so I was left to relax in his son's office and the cleaners were cleaning the reception and other office area.

I noticed this young man was engrossed in reading a "Property Newspaper". After about 20minutes of him being too engrossed I had to ask him if he was planning on moving out of his father's house and was looking for an apartment.

With some worth of a shock, this young lad told me he had already gotten a .ini flat apartment about 30minutes walking distance from his dad's office and he had even furnished it to his own taste.

Then I asked what he needed the property he was searching for and he said, he wanted to save towards buying a plot of land to start building his own house.

To cut the story short, this young man doesn't yet have a car (even though his father has over 4 executive cars but comes from a part of the country where they believe everyone should work hard to get what they want in life).


Then I introduced him to a lawyer frend who deals in property. Before 6:30pm this evening, this young lad called me to tell me he was going to pay a half a million (N500,000) part payment for a plot of land he will complete payments in a few months time. Jokingly I asked him why he didn't buy a car instead as this were his words "Bros! If I go buy car all these girls no go let me rest them go think say I don arrive. At least make i meet my true love on feet and we will enjoy my mansion together"

When the girl's father came to know about their love, he did not like it at all and so, began to protest about it.

Now it happened that the two lovers decided to leave their homes for a happy future. The girl's father started searching for the two lovers but could not find them. At last, he accepted their love and asked them to come back home in a local newspaper. Her father said, "If you both come back I will allow you to marry the guy you love; I accept that you loved each other truly." So in this way, their love won and they returned home.

The couple went to town to shop for the wedding dress. The fiancé was dressed in a white shirt that day. While he was crossing the road to the other side to get some drinks for his fiancée, a car came and hit him and he died on the spot; the fiancée lost her senses. It was only after sometime that she recovered from her shock.The funeral and cremation was the very next day because he had died horribly.

Two nights later, the girl's mother had a dream in which she saw an old lady. The old lady asked her mother to wash the blood stains of the guy from her daughter's dress as soon as possible. But her mother ignored the dream. The next night her father had the same dream, he also ignored it.

Then when the girl had the same dream the next night, she woke up in fear and told her mother about the dream. Her mother asked her to wash the clothes, which had the blood stains immediately.

She washed the stains but some remained. Next night she again had the same dream; she again washed the stains, but some still remained. Next night she again had the same dream and this time, the old lady gave her a last warning to wash the blood stain, or else something terrible would happen.
This time the girl tried her best to wash the stains and the clothes nearly tore, but some stains still remained. She was very tired.

In the late evening the same day while she was alone at home, someone knocked the door. When she opened the door, she saw that same old lady of her dream standing at her door. She got very scared and fainted.

The old lady woke her up and gave her a blue box, which shocked the girl. She asked "What is this...?"

xxhoney: Well I can say dat I've lived life, tasted d good part of life but wen it comes 2 commitment, I avoid it like a plague, I feel what's d use to go in2 one, as chances are u'd get ur heart broken I was there twice & I saw what my friendz (both male & female) also went through in d hands of their partners & thought why don't I fly solo & enjoy my life. I graduated in 2005 with a first class in chemical engineering & later got a scholarship to do my masters in oil & gas in d Uk, wen I finished d program, I came back 2d country & secured a job with Total which I later turned down even after writing their tests & interviews I felt it was going 2 cage me as I wanted to explore many things in life, u may call me silly as that wat friends always thot some even felt I didn't deserve my brains and dat Im too pretty & flashy to be so intelligent but I don't really like d idea of being tied down 2 one job I'm a very independent lady, a successful & smart business woman. I stay in a fully furnished 2 bedroom apartment & I drive a Bmw X6, I've traveled to four different countries & still counting coz my arss is neva in one place. I love outings & occasions alot, I'm d very adventurous type, I'm outspoken & its difficult for anyone to outsmart me. Now here's where d problem comes in; A job was secured for me by my mum (without my knowledge) in a well known multinational oil & gas company here & my mum is reigning fire & brimstone if I don't accept d job & settle down b4 december & live like a responsible woman. She's not comfortable with d fact dat I'm always on d move up and down, here and there. She has told me that if I don't settle down dis year, I shouldn't call her again. She &my dad had just 2 of us, I'm 29 and my kid brother is 21 he's studying in the US. How do I get myself to accept commitment and marriage ? Should I take d job & live a life I'm not used to? Sounds easy but not for me....
