Redmi 7 is fabulous, no issues with proximity sensor, camera is superb and i am not even using gcam, battery life is very okay, display is perfect in sunlight, call volume very okay except if you have thick wax in your ears
It has a very sleek nice feel and the fone looks like premium grade. I used the chager in the box and the fone charges fast ( i wonder why they say its not fast). Sound/music from the speaker is perfect. I am not getting adverts and the few that popped up, i turned them off in recommendations. I am using the theme that came with the fone and i love it; i am not really a fan of twerking fones. Discovered so many cool features on the fone that pleases me. I am glad to be a xiaomite!

N.B. dont watch YouTube reviews, those guys are drunk. I really cant see any thing bad about the fone

True, I wonder what is the complaint about the camera of the RN7 for? I don't even need to use the installed gcam. The phone has all I need in a phone. Great battery, nice glassy, premium look.

As a good photographer on a decent device you can get pictures close to Google Camera. But in all honesty nothing right now compares to Google's Digital Computational Photography. Note the GCam w you are using is not taking full advantage of your full camera size, imagine when it now does

Ya, you are correct but the camera on the RN7 is 12mp, imagine gcam on my Lenovo k5 pro's 16mp camera.

I downloaded the "almighty" gcam. Gcam takes great pictures EASILY. there is an improvement over the stock camera of the RN7 especially on the FRONT CAMERA. My own little observation is that if you have a good phone with a pretty decent camera, and a little flair for photography or a little photography skills, you can take a good photo at par with the gcam. The gcam only makes taking great photos for amateurs easy.

Disable WiFi and Bluetooth scanning buy searching WiFi Scanning from your settings
Install Gcam, there is a link up there go for the BSG.
Explore and enjoy your phone

Do one actually need gcam? The default camera is okay na. Only the front camera be like my old gionee x1s front camera. Not too impressive.

Na who dey say this phone camera no good? Do I even need gcam at all? I have the latest update even before I explored the phone and the camera is superb for a 12mp. I just bought the phone out of curiosity, it a pretty decent phone. If not for IR blaster, I don't see much difference with my lenovo k5 pro.

Just got the RN7 yesterday. Update notification was sent immediately I connected to my Lenovo k5 pro WI-FI. got the MIUI V10. 3.6.0 update. Still trying to figure out if the experience will justify the hype, not that I need a new phone.

Bros, I greet you. Why do you want to flash your phone? Did you contact Sam whose number I gave you when you bought the phone? My own K5 pro is working perfectly and I enjoy the phone since he helped me flash the original Chinese ROM from the FAKE global rom the seller flashed the phone with. I will advise anyone buying this phone to buy the GLOBAL VERSION that has the MOTOROLA logo at the back and not the Chinese version. The Chinese version will definitely come with a fake ROM which might not work 100% well. Original Chinese version and ROM is more advisable than the one with a FAKE ROM.
I enjoy the phone for it's excellent battery life and camera. The phone is very much underrated.
I plan to get the Redmi note 7 (4/64gb global version from pointek Ikeja) next week just out of curiosity and to have the user experience surrounding the hype of the RN7. I work dispose my Lenovo k5 pro, I will use it for a while and decide of I will switch back to my K5 pro or continue with the RN7.
The con I will say about this k5 pro is the ZUI which a very "light and weak" UI. Even gionee Amigos UI has better optimisation than it. The Pro is an excellent battery life and and even more excellent and superb camera.

About your investment idea, that's a brilliant one. Actually I submitted a proposal for installation of 0.6MW wind turbine to power same Tomaro Island as part of my final dissertation to the BPMA. Off grid electricity is the best solution for such place. My choice of wind energy is due to the wind speed of the area, mostly influenced by the water surrounding the island.

I've been to the island many times after my hike and I still go there whenever I want some time off from Lagos and her stress.

Let me tell you the truth, Government isn't interested in any huge capital investment on that Island as regards power. Though the current king is an enlightened man and plan is underway to connect the island to the national grid. Some other Islands like Igbologun (Snake Island) Ibasa etc are connected to the national grid. You see these villagers, they won't even pay light bills when they finally get the light.

I had been looking for an opportunity to visit the beach with no particular one in mind. Fortunately, I was contacted on my last post about a trip to the Lekki Conservation Center ( http://20somethingsteps.com.ng/2019/06/20/the-lekki-conservation-center-a-visit-to-nature/ ) to come for a hiking experience from Apapa, through the Snake Island to the Tarkwa Bay Beach. I agreed and made plans to attend.

So on the morning of the trip, I made it to the Apapa Sea School which was our Converging/take off point to the island. A few hours later, others arrived and soon afterwards, we ready to leave. After a headcount and other formalities, everyone strapped on their safety jackets, boarded the boat and we out set sailing to the Snake island.

That's my Island (TOMARO) I live there. That Church is also my church (New Creature Evangelical Church). The village you disembarked from is itu-agan not Snake Island. Snake Island is Igbologun , though it is close by. I used to do that Tarkwabay hiking those days but I have been so busy with work these days to engage in my favorite pastime. I don't think I can trade the life here for the boisterous Lagos city. I am investing over 300k on solar power installation soon to take care of the light issue.

Nice phone with impressive camera. I use the 4/64gb Chinese ROM version. Got mine for around 57k. The 6/64gb is slightly more expensive.
