Like I said some pages back, it's unfair comparing both as they are not in the same price range ( though my comparison was with the mi 9 SE which is the same price range as A50).

In all fairness, the little comments I've seen on this thread, nobody has remotely suggested that Xiaomi is better than Samsung. Remember Samsung is a premium brand and one of the very best in the game.

From my review of this thread, I realized the selling point of Xiaomi is that it packs more for less. Simply put,it's not overpriced.

This really helped me in making my decision to buy as, like I said earlier, nobody said it was better than Samsung but a quality product in itself. This made me lowered my expectations as I was expecting the phone and on getting it, my expectations were far exceeded.

See, without the Samsung, I'll still be pleased with the Xiaomi as it is still the best alternative phone I've used so far

In all honesty, I don't think you can get a better value for the price of the RN7. I would have gotten one for myself if not that my Lenovo k5 pro is less than 2 months.

Thing is what interests a geek might not have meaning to ur average everyday user.

Things like clock speed and whatnot have no meaning to the average user like what he can see and feel


Things like camera quality, battery life, picture quality and ability to handle high quality games does not require u to be a geek to notice.

I play H D games on both and I can tell us the A50 handles games better.

On paper, the Samsung A50 should outperform the RN7. You cannot compare the more recent and Exynos 9610 10nm chipset on the A50 to the Snapdragon 660 on the RN7. The Samsung A50 has a better gpu so expect better graphics and gaming experience. I have seen and handled the A50 small and I can tell you that the phone is 'glossy' and it's operations is smooth and fluid. The battery should last longer than the RN7 based on the more Power efficient chipset based on the 10nm manufacturing process.
I don't know if the Samsung One UI is better than the Redmi miui. What I will prefer with the RN7 over the Samsung A50 is the IR blaster. I wonder why Samsung hates the IR blaster.

It's a lie I am using Nokia 5.1 plus, there is nothing like hanging, nothing like lagging, it works perfectly well, it performed better than what you have said about the phone, durability is perfect, network has never disappointed me for once, infact Nokia 5.1 plus or X5 is a great phone, haba bros take it easy.

Nah! nah!! nah!!! I like the phone. I don't want to sell it. The battery performance gives me complete peace of mind. I may buy the RN7 64gb variant just to feel the experience. The only problem is just that I don't like carrying two phones about.

Personally I would go for the Redmi note 7, it has better specs on paper. Better processor, camera, battery and based on users' testimony, very strong hardware. The design of the redmi note 7 is sleeker and it had a higher resolution and pixel density.
Lastly, I know a friend that uses the Nokia x5.1 plus and I am not too impressed with the phone. It is slower than my Lenovo k5 pro with sd636 and he even complains of hanging sometimes. If The Mediatek helio p60 processor on the Nokia 5.1 plus cannot match the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 in performance, how can you expect it to outperform the Snapdragon 660 processor on the redmi note 7 in performance?

I was once an Infinix and Tecno fan. Facts hold it that, Infinix and Tecno pioneered the android movement here in Nigeria and Africa by offering cheap android devices (Tecno L6, N3, F1, Infinix Note 1 etc), but change is a constant thing. I had to switch over to Gionee when Tecno & Infinix were no longer durable, and moved to Xiaomi 2 years ago (the experience was entirely different - having value for my phone. I also dont worry about my phone having software issues cos I receive software support time to time).

You all know it, cos I was there before, as soon as ur Tecno & Infinix phone start closing 1 year, it starts developing problem - from app force stop, app not installing, app storage issues to mention a few.

Its not about hyping a phone now, but making research to know what u want. Oppo is already heading into Nigeria Market and this will increase the competition. Tecno & Infinix should up their game if they still want to be relevant in the market. Imagine a device using SD 625 sold for 140k by infinix, and here I am, my Redmi 5 plus 4gb ram 64gb rom that uses the same chipset sells for 53k or less.

Value for money explains everything.

The bolded sums up my disgust for those transsion devices. Tecno is even worse. My Lenovo k5 pro with 4gb RAM and 64gb ROM with SD636 Gorilla glass, 16mp + 5mp focus depth camera both at the back and front of the device, solid built aluminum frame and back cost me about 57k. I rather order for any broken parts on the internet and give to any good repairer than to waste my money on some cheap plastic with very wack customer service. Who their after sales support epp?

Day3 of 21Days No Alcohol Challenge.

Hoping to have guests but the challenge is my guests having some gin and beers without a taste of the poison by yours truly.

Greater success could be sweeter if I have courage to convince guests that alcohol is no longer on the menu.

Wishing myself greater luck and determination as the days seem long and boring without the poison inteferring with thought process.

I envy those who do not drink alcohol and will welcome their advises on how their days are complete.

Day 3, no urge at all. I don't find it a hard thing staying without alcohol for a month. I do it frequently. At the end of the month, my thought processes become clearer and my reflexes are heightened especially if I restrain myself from 'fornication and adultery' that one is hard for me to break from.
I plan to go 30 days and not 21 days. This is day 3 Alcohol free, day 2 (yet) of fornication free.

not really, a 6gb phone without proper memory optimization will perform worse than a 3gb phone. The Lenovo k5 pro i had was 4gb, redmi note 5 4gb keeps more apps in memory than it. My friend's own with 6gb also has the same issue. Paper specs hardly matter these days. The only positive thing about the Lenovo was the stable gcam,
