President Goodluck Jonathan has said he would be taking a short break outside the country with his family after leaving office on May 29. The outgoing president of Nigeria told the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that he would return stronger to help rebuild the party after the break.

The President was reported to have heaped the blames of his defeat on some of his very close aides, citing example of a Special Adviser from the North who did not even vote on the day of Presidential election. President Jonathan warned the leadership of the party to stop the blame game and urge them not to allow the party disintegrate because of the 2015 general elections.

According to a letter signed by one Ukaegbu N. Ogidi, and allegedly extended to the rector, it accused Rev. Fr. Madu of injustice. The letter stated that Ogwugwu Okija only kills those with unclean hands and the rector should reverse the injustice against the complainants to avoid coming to the shrine.

The custodian of the shrine instructed the rector to look for the Chief Priest for briefing and other formalities on arrival. PoliticsOpinion: Nigeria's Destiny In Buhari's Government Of Excuses by jchima14(op): 8:24pm On May 11, 2015
I congratulate Major-General Muhammadu Buhari(rtd) on his recent victory at the polls. He has reminded me of the saying; ‘try and never relent’ and has also broken the 16-years inept government of the Peoples Democratic party. However, I wish to remind Buhari of his lofty campaign promises and pronouncements now that he has the power to implement the “Change” mantra he has been singing. But what bothers me is the excuses that are beginning to surface.

Personally, I have never had much faith in the Buhari-Osinbajo government. And the recent media declaration in which he (Buhari) stated that Nigerians should not expect miracles from his government is a tacit forewarning of his ineffectiveness in governance as exhibited during the Buhari-Idiagbon regime of 1983-85. It appears Nigerians have been scammed yet again by another politician presenting himself as the messiah. So the Nigerian masses should prepare their minds should in case their hope of change is dampened after May 29.

PoliticsNigeria’s Debt Rises By $18bn In 4 Years (SUMMARIZED) by jchima14(op): 4:21pm On May 11, 2015
Nigeria’s Debt Management Office has revealed that the Federal Government’s debt has risen by $18.40 billion (N3 trillion) in the last four years due to excessive borrowing from external(IMF) and domestic sources and payment of interest on securitized domestic debts. It further revealed that debts incurred were used to pay salaries and other recurrent expenditures even when the economy is not in recession. Many financial experts are blaming the current situation on the Ministry of Finance’s poor planning and management.

The current debt profile is $7.29 billion higher than it was 10 years ago (2004) before Nigeria secured debt relief from the Paris Club. The Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has however said that she met a total debt stock of US$47.9 billion in 2011 in her second coming as finance minister after she left it at just US$17.3 billion in 2006 when she left office. The country’s total debt now stands at $53.49 billion.

In what may be regarded as obsession with his football team, an Arsenal fan has made his girlfriend write a test he set about his football club, to determine wether he would dump her or not. The test contained multiple choice questions, tables to complete and 'in your words' section. The test had instruction to read every question at least two times and check answers at the end if she has time. Questions in the test included: “What was the scoreline for the 2014 FA Cup Final vs Hull City?”, “What player scored the winning goal in the 2014 FA Cup Final?” and “Name the starting 11 squad of this season in their relevant positions.”

The girlfriend scored 43.5 out of 50 to which the man made a comment that he won't be dumping her.
