PoliticsWhy Buhari Won - Babangida Aliyu by jchima14(op): 4:15pm On Apr 28, 2015
Niger state governor, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu, yesterday said the defection of the seven PDP governors to the APC strengthened the opposition party and in turn increased the chances of Buhari's victory. The governor said this while commissioning some TETFund projects at the College of Education Minna. Aliyu urged the PDP not to pray for failure of the APC-led government as the effect of such will be felt by all and sundry.

The governor warned against turning Nigeria to a one party state. He further blamed the failure of the PDP on the merger and failure of President of Goodluck Jonathan to honour the agreement of one term he signed.

The decision of President Goodluck Jonathan to formally handover to President-elect Muhammadu Buhari on May 28, has been faulted by an erudite lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana, SAN. Minister of Information, Mrs. Patricia Akwashiki, had on Wednesday disclosed that President Jonathan would formally handover to Muhammadu Buhari on May 28 at a dinner. Falana said, the May 28 chosen by Jonathan is a deviation from the law.
