Religion / 15-year-old Girl Claims Jesus Christ Divinely Impregnated Her by jchima14: 11:11pm On Feb 12, 2016
A 15-year old girl, Latifah Smith-Nabengana has claimed that Jesus Christ impregnated her after a "divine encounter." Smith-Nabengana who hails from Ohio in the United State, said an "Angel of God in July 2015, during an encounter told her that she had been chosen to bear the Christ’s son." Reacting to the teenager’s claim, Dr. William Franklin Murphy, a gynaecologist, said he is aware of Smith-Nabengana pregnancy but is unable to either confirm or invalidate her claims.

"For all I know, her pregnancy seems normal," "Her claims of Virgin pregnancy are technically true, but that doesn’t mean there was a divine intervention. I can tell you that it’s a boy, but there is no way for me to determine if it is Jesus’ son until he is born. If she asks for a DNA test at that time, then we can tell you who the father is,” Murphy said.

Politics / Buhari Reacts To Claims That Boko Haram Controls Some Lgas In Borno - See What by jchima14: 10:30pm On Feb 11, 2016
Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari, has debunked claims that some Local Governments in the country are still under the control of the Boko Haram insurgents. It would be recalled that the Senator representing Borno Central, Baba Kaka Garbai, had recently claimed that more than 50 percent of Borno State was under the control of Boko Haram. Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State and the Nigerian Army had ealier disagreed with the senator’s position. President Buhari at a joint briefing with the visiting German President, Mr. Joachim Guack at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Thursday, however, declared that none of the 774 local government areas in Nigeria was under the control of the Islamist sect.

Buhari maintained that the senator’s position was incorrect, calling for support from Germany to make sure Nigeria emerges a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, UNSC and to defeat Boko Haram. Reacting, the German President said his country will gear up support towards defeating Boko Haram.

Politics / Senate Vows To Send Obasanjo, Jonathan, Others To Kuje Prison If... by jchima14: 5:27pm On Feb 11, 2016
The Senate has vowed to investigate former Presidents, Olusegun Obasanjo, Goodluck Jonathan as well as ministers who served under them over alleged violation of Abuja land grab scandal. Chairman of the Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory,FCT, Senator Dino Melaye while addressing newsmen on Wednesday said the current government of change was prepared to send all past leaders and their Ministers involved in the violation of the nation’s capital master plan "to Kuje Prison."

Melaye wondered why the then FCT Minister would allocate green areas designed for flood drains, city buffers, recreations, urban farming, reserved land and undevelopable areas to themselves and their friends. According to Melaye, the Senate was extending its probe to the former Presidents because by the law establishing the FCT, the President is the governor-general of FCT and responsible for appointing a minister to administer the city on his behalf.

Politics / "Nigeria Needs PDP Now More Than Ever" - You Will Be Shocked By Who Said This by jchima14: 11:03am On Feb 11, 2016
Acting chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, on Wednesday said, Nigeria is in dire need of its party. Speaking at an Interdenominational thanksgiving service in Akwa Ibom state over the victory of the Akwa Ibom state governor, Emmanuel Udom at the Supreme Court, Secondus said, "Nigeria is in dire need of PDP, you can see the difference. Eight months ago, the exchange rate was N160, today it is N313.

The Acting Chairman said, "Eight months ago, vessels of goods and services were competing to enter into our harbor, today, none. "The economy is sliding; it is getting to a point of collapse. The political situation of the country is in coma and we challenge the APC-led government that it is time to realize that they need the people more than they need the guns because we are not military," Secondus added.

Politics / Nigerians Will Starve To Death If.. - FG Raises Alarm by jchima14: 7:38am On Feb 05, 2016
Nigerians would starve to death by 2050 if nothing was done to ensure an all year round farming, the Federal Government raised alarm yesterday. Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh, while speaking during the budget defence of 2016, said with the rate the country was going, the population would by 2050 rise to 509 million, adding that the current rate of one crop per year, with very low mechanization, will not sustain the increasing population in the country. He called on major stakeholders to work towards improving mechanized farming and irrigation, to ensure an all year farming to avert the problem.

Ogbeh further said: "We intend to intensity and consolidate on the local staples, the yams, the cassava, the beans, especially rice and wheat. Both of which consume $11 million per day in import. The figure is going down a bit. We can’t afford that in the long run because we don’t even have the resources. The minister added that the country had the capacity to grow the grass required by cattle to consume, part of which will put a stop to constant bloody clashes between herdsmen and farmers.

Politics / BIAFRA: We Will Make Nigeria Ungovernable - MASSOB Issues Fresh Threat by jchima14: 7:28am On Feb 05, 2016
The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, on Thursday issued a fresh threat to the Federal Government, saying it will make the country ungovernable, if it failed to conduct a referendum in the South-East, to enable the people decide, through voting, whether they wish to secede, or remain in Nigeria. The secessionist groups including the Indigenous People of Biafra claim that majority of people in the region would vote in favour of a separation from Nigeria. A Statement signed by the National Director of Information, MASSOB, Samuel Edeson said, "MASSOB and other pro-Biafra agitators will make Nigeria ungovernable if the Nigerian government failed to conduct referendum in Eastern Nigeria.

"We shall use everything at our disposal to fight the Nigerian government, especially through civil disobedience. "We are going to call for ‘sit at home’ in all Biafran land and Lagos." The MASSOB spokesman further spoke of plans by the group to drag former President Olusegun Obasanjo to the International Criminal Court for ‘atrocities’ he allegedly committed against ‘Biafrans’ since 1970, as well as other ‘crimes’.

Politics / Pdp’s Leadership Crisis Was Expected – Jonathan by jchima14: 1:10pm On Jan 29, 2016
Former President Goodluck Jonathan says the crisis in the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party is to be expected, considering the fact that the party lost power after 16 years.

He said the problems of the PDP started after losing the presidency, but added that the party would ultimately sort out its leadership crisis.

Jonathan said this on Wednesday night during a programme titled, ‘Focus on Africa’ aired on an international news and current affairs television channel based in Paris, France 24.

The former president, when asked to comment on the economic and other challenges facing Nigeria, declined to comment.

He said: “Please, please, I have said that I will not comment on these areas because they are sensitive areas and I wouldn’t want to create problems for my country. I cannot comment on what is happening now. It is not proper for a former president to be commenting, either positive or negative.”

But he was more than ready to weigh in on his political party.

“The PDP will definitely have some minor issues but that is expected because we were in power for 16 years and when we lost the presidency, we began to have some kind of leadership problems. Everybody looks up to the president but when you are no longer the president, it becomes difficult for the party to have a very strong leadership.

“But I believe that whatever the PDP is going through will be sorted out. Elders and leaders of the party have been meeting and all these perceived disagreement will soon be sorted out. The party will bounce back.”

Politics / 40 Killed As Cameroonian Troops Chase Boko Haram Into Borno Village by jchima14: 1:20am On Jan 27, 2016
At least 40 villagers in Gwadale border community under Gwoza local government area of Borno state were feared killed on Monday as soldiers of the Cameroonian national allegedly opened fire on fleeing Boko Haram believed to have ran over to Nigerian, witnesses said.

This is the third time troops of the Cameroonian Armed forces manning the borders shared by both countries are being accused of reckless cross border activities that had so far claimed nearly 200 lives – mostly innocent civilians.

Muhammad Abba, a former ward secretary of Ashigashiya, received a chilling call from his relatives who are still trapped in the border community.

He was informed that bullets from the shootings killed many innocent persons by Cameroonian troops who claimed they chased suspected Boko.

“I still have my family, including my eldest son, there in Gwadale. But those that called me yesterday using the Cameroonian mobile network said most of the corpses are still left unattended.”

“One of my brothers who survived the shootout said the Cameroonian soldiers arrived Gwadale in early hours of Monday, and began to shoot sporadically. Most of our people who ran out of their houses in fear were killed by bullets; up till now, as they said, corpses still litter the grounds with no one attending to them, because those remaining in the village are aged men and women.

“I have not heard from my eldest son since the attack; and those that called said they had ran into Ashigashiya,” said Abba.

Ashigashiya is another village that was attacked by the same Cameroonian troops last week.

Muhammed Gava, the spokesman of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria and a native of Gwoza local government area confirmed the incident saying; “our people are being killed by Boko Haram and Cameroonian soldiers, yet our government is watching.”

Politics / Gov Fayose Visits Osun, Hugs Aregbesola (see Photos) by jchima14: 9:30pm On Jan 26, 2016
Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state is presently in Osun state. He paid a courtesy visit to the state governor, Rauf Aregbesola.

Fayose arrived at the Osun state government house this morning where he held a meeting with Aregbesola. The motive of the meeting is yet unknown.

Both men belong to different parties. Governor Aregbesola is a member of the All Progressives Congress while Fayose belongs to the Peoples Democratic Party and wastes no opportunity in criticizing the APC.

Though both men belong to different parties which are always at war with each other, they shared a hug with smiling faces.

Politics / Buhari Can't Fix Nigeria In Four Years - Anglican Primate by jchima14: 11:05pm On May 21, 2015
The Primate of Anglican Church, Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh, has said, it is “very difficult” to fix the country within four years. He therefore called on Nigerians to be patient with the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari. Okoh stated this while addressing journalists in Abuja. The Anglican cleric further said, Buhari should be given one year to study the situation of the country and set agenda properly.

Nicholas Okoh denied the allegation by the Executive Director of the Voice of Northern Christian Movement, Mr. Musa Dikwa, that the Presidency offered Christian leaders N7billion to campaign for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in the last general elections. The Anglican primate endorsed the suggestion that churches should be made to pay taxes as long as they have an agency that generates income.

Politics / These Are The 3 Major Areas My Administration Will Focus On - Buhari by jchima14: 10:59am On May 19, 2015
President-elect Muhammadu Buhari yesterday said the three major areas of focus of his administration will be insecurity, the economy/unemployment and corruption. He said this in Kaduna while hosting the national executive council of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF). He further lamented the inability of the Nigerian army to secure just 14 local governments in the North east out the 774 LGAs in the country.

According to the president-elect, what is more worrisome is the fact that Nigeria’s military has to rely on South African mercenaries before it could gain recent success in the war against Boko Haram. In tackling corruption, He further added that his administration would make sure that every Nigerian lives within his honest earnings, adding that “a situation where people live above their earnings will not be tolerated.”

Politics / 5 Things You Should Never Post On Facebook Or Other Social Networks by jchima14: 6:02pm On May 18, 2015
For the sake of the safety of you and your family, here are 5 things you should consider removing or not posting to Facebook and/or other social networks.

1. You or Your Family’s Full Birth Dates

You are providing identity thieves with enough personal information that is needed to steal your identity.

2. Your Relationship Status

Stalkers would love to know that you just became newly single. Avoid this if you want to avoid stalkers

3. Your Current Location

You have just told everyone (including thieves) that you’re on vacation (and not at your house).

4. The Fact That You Are Home Alone

It is extremely important that parents make sure their children never put the fact that they are home alone in their status.

5. Pictures of Your Kids Tagged With Their Names

This kind of information could be used by predators to lure your child. They could use your child’s name and the names of their relatives and friends to build trust and convince them that they are not really a stranger

President Goodluck Jonathan has said he would be taking a short break outside the country with his family after leaving office on May 29. The outgoing president of Nigeria told the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that he would return stronger to help rebuild the party after the break.

The President was reported to have heaped the blames of his defeat on some of his very close aides, citing example of a Special Adviser from the North who did not even vote on the day of Presidential election. President Jonathan warned the leadership of the party to stop the blame game and urge them not to allow the party disintegrate because of the 2015 general elections.
