But for providence Nollywood would have been thrown into mourning. Four promising Nollywood actors’ family would have been mourning the losses of their sons. On Sunday, April 10, three Nollywood actors Nosa Rex, Chuks Omalicha, Roy and Badaiki Erom Shaggy were involved in a ghastly accident at Agbor on their way to Benin City. Though they were all badly injured, God spared their lives. They have severe injuries on their head, leg and other parts of their bodies. Though the accident happened on Sunday, it is only Nosa and Omalicha that are strong enough to share their experience on Instagram as at Wednesday, April 13. Nosa shared the pictures and wrote: “How God saved us …. Nosa , shaggy ,Omalicha and Roy …. My leg ….. Shagys head …. We were saved by grace …. God is alive …” He also wrote in another post: “5:30 pm Sunday evening …we got to agbor on our way to benin … Dis accident happened … Long story but God kept us all … My X-ray result is out no broken bones so I can walk … Thank God …. EasternActivist:Which governor is that? |
eduSwisz:Aside from the religious bill, he is doing great things for kaduna |
Although this might be to early, this list is necessary to give kudos to state executives that have hit the ground running and are performing according to the expectations of the electorates. This list also serves as a wake up call to governors who are yet to get a grasp of their duties, to start in earnest to deliver the dividends of democracy to their people. The list also aims to encourage the governors listed so they can continue their good works and know Nigerians are watching. Lists of five governors who deserve a second term based on their performances so far... 1. Nasir El Rufai (Kaduna): The diminutive former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is replicating the sanity he brought to public office in the nation’s capital in Kaduna state. From his costs cutting measures, to his tax reforms and his open budget policy, El Rufai is showing that transparency is achievable in government in this part of the world. 2. Akinwunmi Ambode (Lagos): Ambode has shown that he is capable of surpassing the achievements of Fashola. He has focused more on the suburbs in Lagos which is endearing him to a large section of the populace in Nigeria’s mega city. The rehabilitation of major roads like Ejigbo–Ikotun, Okota-Cele and Acme road in Ikeja has opened up the state. The light-up Lagos project and the refurbished Lagos state security trust fund and the civil service reforms are also worthy to be mentioned. 3. Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom): Among his achievements so far are the commissioning of a led factory at Itam and an automobile assembly plant at Itu. He has also embarked on laudable projects like the dualization of Ikot Oku Ikono – Etinan road with flyover at Ekom Iman, construction of Ikot Ebekpo – Ikot Ebidang road in Onna and the urbanisation of Oron and drainage control system. 4. Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto): His government announced a policy that will criminalize refusal to send children to schools and followed the policy immediately by recruiting 500 teachers to address the shortfall in teaching personnel in public secondary schools in the state. He has also registered 25,000 youths expected to benefit from a skills acquisition scheme over a two year period. 5. Dr Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia): The inauguration of the Ibeme, Awom-Ukwu, Umusokoro Ikwuano and Ohiya electricity projects shows that the governor is in a hurry to deliver the dividends of democracy in the state. The reactivation of the Umuahia water works and technical and vocational educational training is also a commendable move. The setting up of Aba Urban Renewal to restore sanity in the commercial city. All Churches Should Buy Private Jet For Their Pastors, Says Pastor Who Received Private Jet As Birthday Gift The Miracle Arena for All Nations in Canada surprised their pastor, Dr. Kofi Danso with a private jet to celebrate his birthday. The church was founded by Danso and his wife JoAnne in 2011, gifted and thanked the pastor for his dedication and passion towards the church. During an interview with Danso, the pastor stated that he had the vision earlier that he would have his own jet this year (2016). The pastor added that it is not wasteful for a church to own a private jet, but rather necessary. He emphasized that the church will generate funds for the jet by leasing out when not in use. He then urged all churches to follow this step and own a private jet. “Every church should do this for their pastors if they can. The more we help pastors to reach one continent or the other we help fulfill the gospel,” Prophet Danso noted. Boko Haram has lured young entrepreneurs and business owners in the North-East geopolitical zone to join the Islamist militant group by providing or promising capital and loans to boost their businesses, aid agency Mercy Corps said on Monday. Seeing successful business ownership as a way to escape poverty, many Nigerian youths – ranging from butchers and beauticians to tailors and traders – accepted loans for their businesses in return for joining Boko Haram, Mercy Corps said. Yet the lure of business support is often a trap, as those who cannot repay their loans are forced to join the militants or be killed, said the report from the U.S.-based aid agency. Six in 10 Nigerians live in absolute poverty, on less than one dollar a day, a figure which rises to three quarters of the population in the northeast of the country, according to the latest statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics. Many young people told Mercy Corps they would struggle without the support of powerful “godfathers” to provide capital for their businesses, or cash transfers for equipment and goods. Boko Haram has therefore been able to fill a critical gap in financial services, said Mercy Corps, which conducted interviews with 145 people including young former Boko Haram members, family of former members, and youths who resisted joining.
