Seems you GEJ supporters are all programmed to be corrupt and evasive. Again I ask, what has Jonathan got to hide?

Nigerian constitution doesn't compel him to do that.

Now can Buhari show his certificate according to the constitution?

Were OBJ and Yaradua (two democratically elected presidents) under constitutional obligation to declare their assets when they did? Even if the constitution doesn't specifically obligate you to do so publicly, for the sake of propriety and integrity, it's a no-brainer.

He certainly has a lot to hide, seeing the way he gets defensive about it whenever it's brought up. He's corruption personified and that's why his ministers and handlers are always stealing billions.

Please can show us where obasanjo declared his assests?

And where Buhari has provided his certificate in accordance with the constitution not agitation.

Power has been better than this, to get 1 hour light is a miracle now..

Now let me lecture you a little.

When we newly got independence, Nigerians were compelled by NEPA to always leave their light on always because there was excess power looking for outlet.

The military government of which Buhari was part of did not maintain the power sector iinfrastructure. We are not even talking about more power to accommodate the exploding population of the nation. But maintaining the already existing power infrastructure.

The obsolete iinfrastructures are telling on the nation now and we are looking for Jesus to come and do miracle. It is a gradual process to replace the obsolete infrastructure and increase the power.

A vote for PDP (Goodluck Jonathan)

He is the first President to have diversified our economy from oil.

The first President to have improved our infrastructure drastically

First President to have made the youth (leaders of tomorrow) to come into governance.

The first President to have boosted the agricultural sector.

The first government to have stood against the ex military cabals

The first President to have be able to differential between corruption and stealing (Benefit of electing an educated President).

No, you don't seem to get it. Obviously he's got a lot to hide by refusing to publicly declare his assets, which leaves us the masses no other choice than to independently investigate his assets, which leaves room for speculation sef.

Take the acres of farmland he's reported to have recently forcefully acquired, how are we supposed to know whether he bought it via looted funds when we don't even have an idea of how much he was initially and presently worth?

Rent yourself a brain bro, it only simple logic.

Is he under obligations to declare his assets by Nigerian constitution?

Religion / Re: Possibilities And Impossibilities by jdilight(m): 9:11am On Mar 11, 2015
franklytrue:
Does impossibility exist only in the dictionary of fools? (Mark 9:23) Is there nothing impossible with God? (Luke 1:37)

You. Can you fly, even right now? Can you lift a mountain? Can you run faster than the speed of light? Can you adjust the position of the moon, sun or stars? Is it possible for you to enter the sun? Is it possible for you to travel through time to the past or future and even change events? Is it possible to trek from Lagos to London in two minutes? Is it possible to pour the whole ocean into a cup? Is it possible to catch a spirit with bare hands? Is it possible to...? Several impossibilities abound.

Forgive me if I don't believe that every single thing is possible.
Yes, we are fools for Christ's sake (1st Corinthians 4:10) because impossibility can be found in my dictionary. I know not if it is Oxford Advanced Learner's dictionary, WordWeb and the likes you use because it is there or do you have a special one? If you cannot believe AND do these things and more, what does that say of you? A fool? I waver to say but you have limits.

Yes we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Phillipians 4:13) but only those things for which He has strengthened us because it is only Him that can 'carry the weight of the world upon His shoulders' (see Isaiah 9:6) Only Him is the way to the Father. Only Him. Only Him.

Balancing this 'equation' properly. Matthew 19:26 plus Mark 10:27 plus Luke 18:27 can be equated to the fact that nothing, that is, nothing good is impossible with the good God but nothing bad (sinful) is possible with the Holy and perfect Heavenly Father. It is impossible for God to lie (Hebrews 6:18, Titus 1:2).

The world, the universe, life is one of possibilities and impossibilities -hot and cold, light and darkness, good and evil, weak and strong, life and death, day and night etcetera. By these the 'equation' is balanced. That is, there are possibilities and impossibilities. This is my final answer but whose report will you believe? The defunct supernatural, man or God's?

Impossibility is a function of ignorance. When you come to the operational knowledge of a thing, it become possible even though it was not before.

Politics / Re: Card Reader Test: We Scored 100% In PVC Verification – INEC by jdilight(m): 8:50am On Mar 11, 2015
bugs2:
Following the assessment of the outcome of last Saturday’s field test of card reader, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday disclosed that it scored 100% in the verification of the authenticity of the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) presented by voters at polling units.

The commission said that while there were some issues with the biometric authentication of some persons who presented their PVCs at the polling units as the legitimate holders of the cards, 59% of voters who turned out for the demonstration had their fingerprints successfully authenticated.

INEC, however, said an agreement was initially reached with the registered political parties, as contained in the approved guidelines for the conduct of the 2015 elections, that where biometric authentication of a legitimate holder of a genuine PVC becomes challenging, there could be physical authentication of the person and completion of an Incident Form, to allow the person to vote.

A statement signed by the chief press secretary to the INEC chairman, Kayode Idowu, yesterday, said INEC took a critical view of the high rate of failure of the card readers to authenticate voters’ fingerprints in some areas, particularly in Ebonyi State, and has decided to thoroughly investigate the cause as well as repeat the public demonstration in that state on March 14, 2015.

Brother, Its an insult to Nigerians when a government does not take responsibility for its failures. It was stated by Sanusi during the subsidy removal uproar that oil marketers bring in nothing to our seaports, they just bring forged paper and they are paid subsidy without any verification of the actual vessels, these same marketers, some bring in 10 vessels and claim they brought in 100, they are paid. These same marketers, when they bring in vessels, after collecting subsidy, they divert these same vessels to neighboring countries to sell at higher profits. So tell me, how do you prevent the ports officials from perpetrating fraud if you continue to punish nobody? Removal of subsidy brings in another fraud, which is the fact that they will bring in products, collide with the ports authorities and hoard these products, and only sell when the price is inflated to tripple the market price due to scarcity, how does your prevention stop that fraud my brother? Have Nigerians become so stupid as to believe tales by moonlight of save the world without punishing offenders? Tell me, where else in the world does the government not punishment as a detterent to intending offenders?

Even the most technologically advanced countries in the world use technology to catch offenders because they know that people must break the law no matter how much you preach to them. Tell me, have we not become a free-for-all country where everyone can do what he likes and get away with it?

An army official records an alleged rigging scandal in a state and goes into hiding, and your verdict was that it was fake, and when corroborated by the participants, your final verdict was that investigation cannot continue unless he made himself available?

To you GEJ supporter, everything he does is pardonable because you have a direct benefit or interest in his government, but do you think that will fly for most nigerians who are merely spectators and recipients of these cruel government abracadabra? if only 5 to 15 percent of the populace are feeling the good effects of his administration, then do you think he has made a real difference? Do you think the whole fraud and embezzlement allegations are worth it if the lives of many Nigerians have not been effected positively? A government who loses trillions of naira annually to corruption and wastefulness when most citizens are impoverished, does that speak well Please answer, lets be plain, dont play games with the real issues, dont make excuses, tell me what to expect in the next 4 years that would change 1 vote in favour of GEJ

We seem to forget easily the bad when the good comes.

Its in this administration that queueing in fuel stations ended. Obasanjo could not do it.

It was in this administration that plane stopped falling from the sky.

It was in this administration that for the first time in the history of Nigeria, foodstuffs price did not go up during Xmas.

It was in this administration that those living in the east got home during Xmas on a good road for the first time.

It was in this administration that the economy of this nation was diversified to other sectors

These are things that has benefited the masses.

Politics / Re: Goodluck Jonathan’s Leadership Would Bear Fruit With A New Presidential Term by jdilight(m): 1:28pm On Mar 07, 2015
0key:
By William Reed - - Thursday, March 5, 2015
Nigeria has a date with destiny as March 28 and April 11 draw
near. These are two significant dates that, on one hand, present
Nigerians with an opportunity to strengthen democracy through the
ballot.
These dates, on the other hand, are also beaming scaring danger
signals. No thanks to politicians who are beating drums of war,
stumping across the country, making campaign statements full of
fury, with little about issues of concern to most Nigerians. As is
typical of Nigerian elections, the tension is thick in the air, so much
so that the putrid smell of Armageddon has enveloped the country.
Fears are palpable, generating serious concerns among Nigerians
and within the international community.
Nigeria has traveled this route before, not once. There are however
reasons for genuine and heightened concern this time. The last few
years have seen widening cracks along the Nigeria ’s well-known
fault lines of religion and ethnicity. The security situation,
especially in the northeast, has been a huge sore on the reputation
of the Africa’s most populous country. The abduction of more than
200 girls from the Borno State community of Chibok nearly one
year ago, and the perceived lack of enough effort from the
government of President Goodluck Jonathan to ensure they are
rescued, are making the prospect of a peaceful poll a tall dream.
President Jonathan has had to take the blame for virtually
everything going wrong in Nigeria . Admittedly, there are issues
that currently feed this perception. They include the security
situation, corruption and poor living standards of most Nigerians.
Ordinarily, the buck stops at the desk of the president. The
opposition seems to have succeeded in creating the impression
that Mr. Jonathan merely wakes up on daily basis and does
nothing. But things don’t always seem as they look in Nigeria .
That the president has been doing nothing would not pass the
muster of nonpartisan scrutiny. What would be correct is that the
president has actually done little to publicize the many things he
has been doing. In the last six years, the government has been
confronting more fundamental issues of growth and development
with the type of vigor and single-mindedness uncommon in
Nigeria .
The Jonathan administration would trump any previous
administration in the effort made to tackle the near-complete
collapse of infrastructure such as roads, transportation and power
supply. The same can be said of employment generation and
capacity development. Nigeria ’s economy has not only survived
major shake-ups affecting most advanced economies, it has
actually also been growing in leaps and bounds, emerging as
Africa’s largest.
He has perhaps taken an ingenious route to fighting corruption. He
understands the difference between the symptoms of corruption
and the underlying causes. While many had expected a frontal
attack at the symptoms through demonstrative — even if unlawful
— actions by deploying anti-corruption forces in a frenzy of mass
arrests, media trials and public sentencing of suspects, Mr.
Jonathan has chosen to allow the justice system the space to
work.
He hasn’t stopped at that. He is, with the skill of a surgeon,
identifying the underlying causes of corruption and taking them out
one after the other. This is what he did with a fertilizer distribution
scam, which had hampered food production and diversification
effort for decades. Perhaps, he did not make enough noise on this,
but the result of his approach is loud enough for the thousands of
Nigerian farmers who now have easy access to fertilizer,
completely eliminating the meddlesome middlemen. The action is
equally loud enough for the vested interests to fight back and join
the now-profitable president-bashing choir.
The security challenge is a bit more complicated. Mr. Jonathan ’s
emergence represented a paradigm shift in the Nigerian political
arrangement. He was the first person with no strong political
background or affiliation, and from a minority tribe to become a
democratic president in Nigeria . He had not benefited from any of
the important pillars of power such as the support of a major
ethnic group. The template for success in the Nigerian environment
requires much more than the timing of response to a security
situation, such as the Chibok abduction saga. It requires the
willingness of the players within the affected area to put the safety
of lives and protection of properties of the people ahead of their
own immediate political advantage. It is not going to be easy
trimming the hair of someone who continues to run. It could take
time to either catch up with him or get him to willingly agree to the
need to solve a problem. The ability to keep calm rather than adopt
a knee-jerk and high-handed approach in the face of treachery and
impunity is a great asset the president is endowed with. This, as
the opposition is wont to do, can also be mistaken for weakness or
incompetence.
Mr. Jonathan ’s civilized approach to tackling issues is built around
the need to ensure social justice, equity and the rule of law. This
should, ordinarily, be worthy of global acknowledgment and
commendation. But the concerted noise from the opposition camp
and the penchant of some international observers to rush to
judgment without taking full account of peculiarities of an
environment are a bit deafening and blinding to the reality on
ground.
As elections are getting closer, the president is faced with the facts
that Nigerians are in a hurry. They’ve waited for too long. This is a
situation that is being exploited by opposition leaders, who have
been calling for mob actions as against the rule of law. Mr.
Jonathan has equally shown that he understands that Nigerians
are expecting a leader with a magic wand, who could with a snap
somewhere, turn age-long and deeply rooted social decay into an
instant state of bliss. But the magic wand could actually be a
possibility if current efforts are allowed another four years to take
root, grow and bear fruits.

I came across this thread " Is President Goodluck Jonathan Really Bad" and i thought to myself, if these are the achievements of President Jonathan then i must have over rated him even in my displeasure.

Budget breakdown

2010 = N4.07 trillion naira

2011 = N4.22 trillion naira

2012 = N4.74 trillion naira

2013 = N4.92 trillion naira

2014 = N4.6 Trillion naira

Total = N22.5 trillion naira,

That's about $135billion dollars.

So i ask are these achievements worth $135 billion dollars?

A responsible government @ 50 % capital expenditure would have spent $70 billion dollars on infrastructure, we could have achieved 10,000 megawatts for less than $20 billion (using the Chinese example)

We would still have balance to build several refineries @ $10 ( Dangote refinery costs $2 billion)

We could have high speed rail around the country for less than $20 billion

We could have built world class Universities for less than $500 million dollars each.

Nigeria deserves better.
