Oh wise one (being very serious here) how would you play this market?

Betece still hasn't gotten out of the trenches yet, but there's a lot of green everywhere. In my opinion, it feels like what whales would do something like this to scoop liquidity.
Allow people to get comfortable and hopeful, then dump on them later once BT.C reverses fast.

On another hand, it seems that it could really signal a reversal as market sentiment is changing, and as they say, price is only determined by the price people are willing to pay and people are starting to hope.
My sister, I'm no wise one (seriously)... my portfolio has also taken a hit but I'm not so bothered as I'm weighted more towards stuff I can hold thru a dip....

With bitc0in, when one decides to buy, it's good to shut most of the noise, look at the big picture and buy....

Regarding alyts rallying, most have sold off for months and this bounce can be likened to a relief... I did suspect it after last weeks close on the bitc0in dominance chart.... if it starts bouncing off the weekly support, then this alt rally could very well be shortlived.

The important thing in crypt0 is holding the right coyns and knowing when to rotate

Good day brother.
Do you think BTC conference in April can trigger some pump? (Judging your experience from previous conference)
There'd always be a narrative for a bitc0in move.... Crypt0 is still a relatively new asset class and volatility is part of the game.
I am rooting for an April move... but then, bitc0in is decentralized and I don't think the meeting of a number of people is the reason why it'd pump.
InvestmentRe: Investing In Digital Currencies; Looking At The Bigger Picture by jedisco(op): 2:33pm On Mar 19, 2022
Harmony one....
One coyn I have a liking for... it has very steep pullbacks and even steeper rallies.... got a growing community but still largely small.

I'm waiting for the March close on this
Against usd, it seems to be bouncing off the monthly support. A green monthly finish could easily see a 2x in the coming months..

Against betece, it looks done.... should pump off the monthly support but I doubt it'd make a new high anytime soon

InvestmentRe: Investing In Digital Currencies; Looking At The Bigger Picture by jedisco(op): 2:29pm On Mar 19, 2022
Depending on how March finishes, I plan to scale into certain alys in April...
When choosing, focus will be on coyns that made or reached their February 2021 highs during the September 21 rally...

They must be coyns tgat have utility and good tokenomics

Money is not the major thing u need to succeed in crypt0. U need the knowledge even more. I left trading last year December..... right Now na learning phase I De till April ending or may. I don Lose money tire, over 6,000k$ in less than one Year. Haba this money Wey we Lose Anyhow e no easy to recover am o...I don ready to learn now u can do the same. The market is not running.
IMO, if trading large sums, then one should have a good chunk in betece or eith. Every alyt season always starts with those two.... if those two have not shown the way, most other things are noise

@op You're broken and it's quite clear where most of your rhetoric stems from. I pity young males who blindly followed you in the name of being 'alpha'

Fact is with the hate you exude, you might turn out to be a worse parent than your mum.

Your greatest focus now should be how you can turn the tide and not end up as a mirror of your mum..

Lastly, for males who still see the misogynistic rhetoric on nairaland as the definition of alpha, this should serve as a lesson. An alpha means that you have scace resorces or attainments in your community that make other males look up to you. It has absolutely nothing to do with abusing your women who you should be protecting

What are your thoughts?
My brother/sister, I usually keep off newly listed tokens.... if there are few holders, it pumps.... if there are folks already holding, then it usually dumps...
Basically, it's just too unpredictable and I prefer to stay out moreso in a market like this... In a bull market, sometimes, I take the risk knowing that stuff will still pump... Right now, I'm protecting my capital
InvestmentRe: Crypto Currency Investors Thread by jedisco(m): 1:35am On Mar 14, 2022
Talking about basics, one mostly overlooked is what stage we are in the market...

Bitc0in rules this market, this has become more obvious over the past weeks...
In trading alyts, market sentiment is important and the ema is one way I use to guage that... Bitc0in below the weekly support means folks are less confident in the market and hence alyts will struggle and any run will be shortlived
Bitc0in lost this support in November.... the only major alt coyn I know that's outperformed it since then is luna.... reasons being quite clear

Bitc0in will tend to outperform most coyns when its below its weekly support. Also, coyns will hardly make ATHs in this environment...knowing this helped me trade most of my alyts within strict ranges earlier on....
In essense, if your stash has remained mainly in alyts at this time, there's an attendant risk

Do you think btc bottom is priced in considering the feds rates hike rumors from the past weeks up to this day and next week?
Missed this... it's been talked about so long that I wonder what effect it'd have. No doubt, its a macroeconomic factor. I'm leaning towards two outcomes....

a. Price responds initially in an opposite direction to what it truly means for the market in the comingmonths... e.g sell off initially if bullish and vice versa.... e.g the way bitc0in sells off after each halving

b. Market just remains quiet...

All said, the next few weeks should be interesting

Though I agree some policies are wack, the Nigerian problem appears to be systemwide. From the weak and in most cases non existent public institutions(here I don't mean schools) down to our values as individuals.

The people in power are nothing more than a subset of our population. Change them and I can assure you that d situation wouldn't be much different.

In my opinion, schools and the media have a lot of work to do. We need to update our values.
True... In the end, change has to begin from somewhere.
Just holding the dollar shouldn't mean 10% annual dividend in naira

Xrp/eith monthly chart... what do you see?
Xrp again...seems to have pumped off some news on it's court case

For folks still holding xrp, a rally this month or next on the Xrp/eith chart to between 0.0004- 0.0006 might provide a rare opportunity to change allegiances.... cos if the market starts dipping, you don't want to be holding the wrong stuff

My problem with staking is the rewards isn't very great unless opting for the non-flexible one (30-90days). Now if that coin pumps and the coin is still within the staking period, I can't sell.
Yeah..there are lots of things to consider when staking a coyn.
The thing is most people end up holding coyns thru major dips.
With bitc0in below its weekly support, most alyts will continue to struggle hence one can select a reasonable lockup period.
Another thing is to split your stash on a coyn into a portion you trade and a portion you stake...

Finally, some centralised custodial apps like celsius, nexo, youholder offer reasonable rates on some coyns without a lockup... that way, one can flip between coyns when needed and still earn staking rewards

More impressive is ust...
Over the last month, its moved from under 11 billion to 12.6 billion....

Obviously, this has translated into price appreciation for Luna.... like I said previously, this mainly is the reason why outside eith, luna is another chain I focus on....
If ust and decentralised stables see the much needed adoption, then luna should do well as ust is minted on its blockchain....

Also, there's an increase in the staking reward of luna from about 4% to 9%
Growth of UST continues to be parabolic. Over the last 30 days, its shot up from roughly 11b to 15b with no sign of slowing down.... no doubt this has helped fuel the rally on LUNA as UST is built on it..

Getting a bit worried about two things...
1. As the market cap of ust grows, it'd attract regulatory scrutiny. Wonder if it'd retain it's peg to the usd under such pressure.
2. The 20% apr has remained unrivalled in the stable coyn industry. That's not sustainable long-term and be reduced. I wonder how the market would react to that

I wonder how many people here have their stables in ust

I think staking is underrated in this thread

If you are a holder like me, stake your token

I make atleast N1,000 every two days from staking

P.s: if you wanna stake, stake a good coin not something that will dip to 0

I staked Sol.

Also ILEGENDD is a mouthmaker
Absolutely underrated.... Any asset I hold should be one with utility and one I can stake. Also, I'm skeptical of projects with very high staking rewards and not as much utility e.g axs, cake and most defi tokens as those high rewards mean huge inflation.

Better still are the juicy rewards on ust.... I know it wouldn't last forever, but now, most of my raw powder is stashed in ust....

Recently, banks have cut down the international spending limit on their ATMs to between 20 and 50usd per month... This usually means there is some forex scarcity and if history is anything to go by, it foreshadows further devaluation.....

What's going on in Nigeria is sad cos the populce are being made poorer by the day simply because of nonsensical policies by the government

Regarding the naira, taking a step back might give a better picture...

The average dollar devaluation has averaged 10% per annum since 1973... Sadly, thats less than similar African nations.....

That means someone just holding the dollar would see their naira value increase by about 10% every year.... that's worrying and means the nation is not getting some basics right

InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by jedisco(m): 3:34am On Mar 12, 2022
Lot has been said about devaluation and many people compare the naira to the dollar. This gives an illusion of the dollar being a fixed value asset which is false.

The dollar is also a moving target that has been devalued over time. The only thing is that the dollar is one of the better performing currencies.. For example, the exchange between usd and gbp was 2 usd to 1gbp in 2007. By 2010, it was 1.7 and currently sits at about 1.3.

This market is all about putting your money where your mouth is. I am growing to understand that unless an argument has for it's purpose the exchange of ideas, such should highly be avoided. In other words, if you are arguing with a person and sense that the person just wanna be right rather than see things in different perspective, you'd best ignore.

That said, I believe all the people who had/have so much faith in BeTC and bought the dip are smiling right now... I would bet Jedisco did.... In retrospect, i now know mid 30's is always a good region to load BeTc
I initially sold some betece at 40k on the first pump and bought back at 38k....

Asides positions I already have, I still have good dry powder waiting (while earning interest)- I'd want to use that on certain alyts but will do that when there's more confirmation on bitc0ins direction

@JEDISCO & et al, hope you don't mind giving some Contribution or interpretation to this movehuh?
What alyts are you looking at? Most alyts have been on a selloff for the past 3 months when compared to betece.... also bitc0in dominance is showing strength which is generally not good news for alyts

For every major selloff over the last 18 months, Bitc0in has come down to take out the initial low. Still did same at 42k.

Now it's at 40k and market is split... I'm beginning to see confluence across certain majors e.g eith at 3k which gives significance to this level. This makes me believe that if 40k is lost, (aside wicks below), then 30k would very much be in the offing.

Looking at the monthly charts, Bitc0in has ever lost the weekly support except in a bear market where it capitulates below. With the monthly support at abt 38k, this makes me believe Jan and Feb are key for the continuation or break of this macro rally. I'm leaning towards things turn here to form a macro cup and handle pattern. Would sure be on the lookout
Welcome to March... This happens to be the months when many people believe the bitc0in will nuke...

Jan and Feb were indeed key... I believe March would provide a confirmation of a chosen trend...

Still on this.... a scenario I'd like to see is perhaps another dip below 40k, and then a subsequent rally into a strong monthly finish giving a candle similar to that of july last year (arrowed) that resulted in the rally to 69k.... All said, the monthly charts take out much noise.... lets see how March goes
