That's why i said its easy to talk from outside but when you inside, you will know what's up. I can bet my money any day any time, no soldier will ever tell you he or she is enjoying. Funny part is do you know how many people that have tendered resignation letter but its still pending till date? See ehn its not easy, till date the Biafra's are still having the effect back then, Hiroshima is never the same, i'm very sure borno, Maiduguri can never be the same. One soldiers wife i know, she never see her husband for a year, this same man got shot but the bullet tampered with one of his eye, guess what? He was still sent back to continue. If you not a commissioned officer lets say colonel or so, no chilling i might be wrong talk less of been a recruit. Its when you are old, you will understand better. The first person you kill thats the hardest, after that you turn to a cold killer, u no send anybody. Assuming Nigeria my country really have regards for their soldiers, no one would complain. Most of our soldiers are broken and need a therapist but our greedy seniors won't allow that. The weakest link in capturing a soldier is taking any of his family that's when you will see the true emotion of a soldier. I can't count how many times have seen some soldiers running away.
One funny thing about this life is when you tend to ginger a lot to get something, when that thing finally comes, u get tired. Been in the war zone or a dangerous place you stand a chance of dying 93%, while if you not there the chances of you dying is lesser apart from natural cause like sickness, accident, robbery etc.
This life sweet gan, a woman losing her husband in the war front that's when you will see senior officers sleeping with the widows which is terrible. Lets be mindful of our speech honestly and hope for the best. Life is too short to die at your peak. May God see us through
Bro u nailed it o, women no send you o

What I've seen ehn, I'm even reconsidering getting married if I probably make the list..
It's not even only officers that sleep with the women, young civilian boys too. Some of them their husbands are still alive.

Chai life as a soldier is tough

Funny.. I was chatting with my friend who is a private soldier..
I remember this guy buying his army slot with 300k 2yrs ago, now he is in borno.. I can feel the tension in his voice when he sent me a voice note. He just lost a friend recently.
See what he said below.

Ayam tired of this thread, See you guys at screening if we all eventually make it. I will pray they post me to the presidential guards brigade, don't want you guys to worry too much about me.

Soldiers are the ones who do the fighting, am sure Nigeria is currently at war with dissidents(Boko terrorists) in the northeast and bandits in the north west. Why are you joining the army, isn't it to FIGHT & PROTECT UR PEOPLE & COUNTRY. Or do soldiers in the army have another meaning. These yearly recruitments are all to bring an end to the insecurity in this country. Soldiers fight when their is war, one is currently on going.

You guys won't understand, the north is my home. it used to be so peaceful but not anymore.

Well, Goodluck to us all

the number is applicable to both exercises.
after 30 situps my waist disconnected, the army guy counting mine was begging me to just do an extra one that he will add 10 to make it 40, but like I keep telling my soul that was already ready to abandon me, I can't just come and kill myself. I stood up immediately to make sure I never dey paralysed.
Both exercises?
Meaning if I can do 50 push ups and 20 sit ups I'm okay ba?

(1) There is 95% guarantee that U will be posted to either Armoured, Infantry or Artillery after ur SSC Passing Out Parade... Course of Study No Matter at all in as much as Nah SSC u opt in for, that's Y it's generally referred to as THE MULTITUDE CADRE
(2) In my Opinion, from what LtChisom has just explained few minutes ago, it's obvious that FOR DSSC, U JUST HAVE TO TRY ALL UR POSSIBLE BEST TO FALL IN THE 1ST CAGE DURING THE RACE, NO ISSUES WITH OBSTACLE CROSSING + OTHER PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES ALONGSIDE EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE DURING BOARD INTERVIEW... With That, there shouldn't be any Course of Worry as per the DSSC... I think Getting Shortlisted is Rather the Hardest Part of bn successful as a DSSC Applicant due to the Lower number they do shortlist for their Screening
Thats my issue
I applied for dssc last time, I didn't even smell the list.

I'll feel very bad if I miss out again this time, I also heard the discrimination in ssc is very high and they mostly get retired early..

I can't face HND and Bsc discrimination and still face another in the Army.. Still can't make up my mind

like marrying a struggling guy is a ticket to happiness, ain’t they even worse . I hv dated a struggling guy and it was still not worth it . Since I set my standards against meeting struggling men , and fixing myself in the right places , I met better people.
Whatever works for you sis..
Remember no preference for life.. I pray you meet your standard b4 your clock starts thinking. Lemme guess you are still young and have age on your side..

Let's see what you will say when you clock 35 still searching for the standard you set for yourself.. Of course marriage is not for everybody and you can always be happy without it.
Life no go shame us

You're quite realistic but more of a pessimist than being optimistic.

And you'll still build with your woman even if you're fairly successful, with the right woman, your fortune will multiply bountifully but the basics required to survive should be set in place by you. Failure to do this would definitely create issues no matter how good the woman is.

You are the head for a reason. Not by virtue of your dick but by the responsibilities placed on you.

However, To each his own. Whatever rocks your boat, flow with it.
I'm realistic because I believe in happiness regardless of whatever situation life places one self. If you encourage all women not to marry struggling dudes, many will remain single and die old.. Biological clock is not friendly and I know most of them don't wish to be baby mama's.. Not every guy is gonna make it, except we wish to lie to ourselves. Everyone deserve to be happy. I don't even believe in bringing children to this world to suffer, if the couples can only manage with one let them go ahead. Happiness is the priority.

It's sad many women will end up unhappy for the rest of their life, many don't marry men they are attracted to they just want financial security such as the OP.. After having children, they feel empty at the end. I've seen such things happen.
People like OP don't end up marrying who they want but who is available.. They sacrifice their happiness

Rich is relative. I don't use that term.

Are you telling me that as a man. You do not have an idea of the kind of life you want for yourself and your family? Ok, take the woman out of the picture(you obviously can't imagine an outsider chopping your money grin), what kind of environment do you want your children to grow up in, what kind of school do you want for them?

I agree with you, not everyone will be financially successful. But If you believe that no matter how hard you try that you won't achieve it.

There is really nothing much that can be done.

Bro, I am not talking from a place of spite here. I don't get a Kobo coming on here.

I wasn't born into wealth. I have experienced what it means to not have, but looking back, I don't think I did nothing extremely extraordinary that you as another man cannot do.

The problem is that most men just live everyday as it comes. They have no plans and some that have do not have the discipline to follow up on those plans.

If you want a change, make it happen.

Look around you. Men build roads, buildings and in extension civilisation and that translates into the family as well,

A man creates his reality, then his woman and by extension his family lives in it.

So the question is what reality do you want?
Do you think the poor don't have dreams or vision to be rich, have you ever seen anybody that chooses to be poor?.. Because life has been fair to you doesn't mean it has been good to others. Even the beggars on the street have dream, the bankers that work 9-5 and paid peanuts have dreams, a civil servant have dreams. It's not always about hard work or hustle as you call it.
It takes grace, especially in a country where the minimum wage is below $100.

Lemme tell you, nature has a way of balancing everything, no be everybody go get money na reality.. One can even be rich today and lose everything tomorrow.. From your point now, if a man loses his source of livelihood his wife should abandon him right? Nothing is guaranteed in life, what happened with building together?
Nobody come life come work for anybody, we die different day, even our children life is different from ours..
I'M A REALIST

Fraud is one illegitimate means out of thousands of legitimate means to make it. But no, hustle automatically means 419 in your head as you already believe you must need a woman to make it. tongue

Your own go hard Wella.
Base on your logic
All men are supposed to do whatever it takes to make their woman happy, even if it means robbing a bank.. I don't blame u, just because you are fortunate doesn't mean others are..
Not all of us will be rich, if you like hustle till your last breathe.. FACT. Does that mean they don't deserve to find happiness or they don't qualify to date women?..

So shut up if you know nothing about life, and stop seeing things from your view only.. You don't know what people go through especially in this country..

I should post my account to prove what to you exactly? Slowpoke.

Empty barrels make the loudest noise.

My message is this. Every man, whatever your hustle is. Before getting married, be financially sufficient to provide the kind of life you want for your family. It is not in a woman's place to do that.

If that makes you feel agitated to the extent you have to flex financial muscles. Go hug a transformer.

And I never say men who are in the process of making it are useless. That's your conceived opinion. But before bringing a wife and children into the picture. Put in the work and have what it takes to provide the life you want for them. Anything other than that is a sign of misplaced priorities on your part.

Now go f*ck yourself with your 5k.
Even if his hustle is being a frauster, a yahoo boy.. All hustle na hustle... Men have suffered.

So I should only hustle because I want to be sufficient enough to satisfy a woman..?
It doesn't matter how I make my money, I just need to work to please my wife not myself.. Bro check and balance na.. You are part of the reason that push guys into crimes

We are getting it all confused. Passion helps you land the Army job. But Commitment, Duty and Patriotism is what keeps you going and helps you stand your ground in the face of heavy gunfire. You need to have a lot of it. A lot of it. Sadly, in the face of very grave danger, it is easy to lose them and the first human instinct is to japaa

This Army job no easy ooo...if our fallen heros (respect!) were given the desertion option before they took that bullet, they will most likely take it.

May God protect all our serving personnel.

theres nothing joyful about going to war to be honest! My friends were all hyped until they deployed there! Some of them would never be the way they were again! From ptsd to insanity! You think war is fun, wait until you take a bullet in the head! My very good friend lieutenant Hamzat Buba that was on this thread in 2015 when he joined my officers group, finished training, we popped bottles that day! Still spoke to him in the academy in November after I was dashed high bp! He was telling me to calm down and promise to come again! He was shot twice in the head just a couple of days after! It’s all fun and games until it’s your own 21 gun salute. The only thing that will make me go to war is the sense of duty for the job! It’s not something to anticipate! People that had gbewa more than you don go!
It’s still the best job in the world doe...and that pip, we will hang it
That sense of duty is what I'm emphasising on, why would one go through all does training only to go AWOL.. There are many jobs with minimal risk n higher pay than joining the Army...

It's always good to keep it at the back of ones mind, as a soldier your life is always at risk, same a cultist running from rivals..

I will only join the army if they agree to post me to sambisa after the conclusion of my training. What's the point of being a soldier if I don't get the chance to kill bad guys and fire guns legally? Omoh...front line straight jare
That is the passion..
Something lot of soldiers lack these days... Right where I leave 174 battalion, I can't count how many soldiers have gone AWOL because they were posted to Maiduguri. Ranking from warrant officers to captains.. Imagine the years wasted.

Sometimes I wonder why they join, if they don't want to go to war, or is there another meaning of being a soldier that I don't know..

To all the guys that wish to join to oppress their mates, those that want to join to visit shoprites and woo girls, those that just want to show off, you better rethink. Na war we dey go n nothing is guaranteed. Going AWOL is a big offense and shameful.
