Religion / Re: This Bible Verse Proves That Yahweh Was Not Omnipotent. by Jenwitemi(m): 8:04am On Aug 23, 2012
It was the bible, alright. When a book chronicles the sheer wickedness of a deity, it is showing and telling you something significant about that deity. wink
Mr_Anony:
That's interesting because I didn't come to know God through the bible. I started reading the bible after I had known God.

Anyway, if the bible you have been reading tells you that God is not omnipotent, then I am afraid, what you have been reading is not the bible.
Religion / Re: Do Atheists/humanists Have No Morals, Mr Anony? by Jenwitemi(m): 7:59am On Aug 23, 2012
Do not blame Mr Anony for the way he thinks. I mean, after all, look at the deity that determines his "morals".
MacDaddy01:

This is where you debunk yourself with wickedness. Do I need a moral code, God or the bible to know that killing, stealing or beating someone for no reason is wrong?

Surely, if you need a moral code to know these things, you must be awicked christian bigot like I said all along.

It is like asking me where my certificate for walking is. Do I need a cerificate for something that is naturally a part of me?

Religion / Re: This Bible Verse Proves That Yahweh Was Not Omnipotent. by Jenwitemi(m): 4:50pm On Aug 22, 2012
Hahahaha! That is all angles covered, eh, anony. Give up and accept that your god is a nothing, a nobody pretending to be what he is NOT and will never be. Omnishege! cool
Mr_Anony:
I am not being crafty at all. I am just trying to get you to argue properly. God did not fail. That a person did not do something doesn't mean that he cannot do it.

Ofcourse, na. No be now we all know that the bible god is omininothing. But christianity wants us to ignore those little parts. But for where?! Whosai! The spirit that dwells in man cannot be deceived at all. It is too smart, too experienced and too knowledgeable to allow itself to be hoodwinked by religions built on the foundations of lies.

BTW, dem beat am(bible deity) for wrestling sef. I think na Joseph way performed the defeat for one part of the bible.
plaetton: We have all been made to believe that the bIblical god Yahweh was an omnipotent god upon whose power, the the ancient Isrealites destroyed al their enemies.
Well, sorry to burst your bubble. Not me, but this obscure biblical verse that is never ever read out in church shows that Yahweh is not as omnipotent as we have been intimidated to believe.

In this verse,it clearly states :

And the Lord was with Judah: and he slew and drove out the inhabitants of the mountains; but he could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron. . Judges 1:19

This is a very significant bombshell. It means that the lord was with Judah to drive out the weaklings of the mountain, but when confronted with superior firepower and iron chariots of the valley dwellers, the omnipotent power of the Lord could not prevail.

Any comments?
Religion / Re: When Will The World Become Fully Atheistic? by Jenwitemi(m): 11:43am On Aug 22, 2012
That will never happen because atheists themselves help keep religion alive and kicking. You all talk about it too much and debates like that help keep religion alive and well enormously.... like this thread here.
diluminati: when will religion end? when will everyone become an atheist? seems the path is getting clearer by the day but will it happen soon or a thousand years from now? anything to keep track of the process?

Religion / Re: Can Standard's Be Dropped For Love? by Jenwitemi(m): 11:22pm On Aug 21, 2012
There is no standard higher than LOVE. We, as humans, usually sacrifice love to achieve all those things you mentioned up there. I am talking LOVE, not LUST, though.
Lyzbet: Wen it comes 2 matters of d heart, is it ok if personal standards like being a virgin til marriage, or gettin 2 a certain academic level/financial status, or gettin closer 2 God, are reduced or dropped for love? Pls I need mature n practical answers.

I see. It is confirmed, then. Your adopted version of the creator is the arabian one. Cool. But you do know that allah is just another version amongst many now, don't ya?

Apologies My friend. Quotation is taken from the Quran. The numbers in the square parenthesis; first number before the
colon indicates chapter number, the number after that is the verse number.

You want to test my intelligence with religious questions like those? Are you trying to make me laugh? If so, you have succeeded. cheesy grin
usisky:
@Bold. Here I'll put your intelligence to a test:

1)What or who is allah?
2)Why do you suppose the Quran uses the Word allah?

When you're done answering , i'll then give my response. PEACE!!

Answer not clear. Stop cutting and pasting obscure quotes from obscure texts in obscure books as your answer. Be more clear and specific. Are you a slave of allah?

This is an image taken by Hubble space telescope of the "Cat's Eye Nebula"; an exploding star 3,000 light years away. The image was published by NASA on oct.31, 1999.

This is the image appearance when certain celestial bodies explode. You may wish to read the verses above again-how accurate a description. Also corroborate the image with what Mr. frosbel posted earlier.

Religion / Re: Why Do Christians "Chicken Out" ? by Jenwitemi(m): 5:23am On Jul 29, 2012
That is because they always fantasize themselves being on the pulpit and preaching whenever they come in here, so they expect everybody to accept whatever comes out of their heads without question or any other form of intellectual resistance. You know, like the way it happens in places of worship. If that doesn't happen they curse with hell and run away 'cos they and everything else they stand for have just been rejected. That can deeply hurt.

The earth crust beneath our feet is honeycombed, so it is no surprise that things like this pop up from time to time in different places on earth. Combine that with the presence of natural gas and petroleum ore in the crust and this is what we get, you "hell-heads".

That's because apart from the fact that they seem to have turned the other cheek( grin), they have virtually given up on trying to convince everybody else that it is only their own world-view that is right and everybody else's is wrong. So now they concentrate their efforts opening threads on themselves and their world-view. If you can't convince them and win them over, leave them, i guess. wink

How do you know? Well, I guess if you are born into it then it has to be the right one. That's the way most people in most religions know. Some grow into it while others grow out of it, of course.

Religion / Re: Are Muslims Truly More Than Christians In Nigeria? by Jenwitemi(m): 9:43pm On Jul 26, 2012
That they higher population count than the southerners i seriously doubt. Whether they are more populous than the christians, i do not know because not all southerners are christians.
tomakint: The above questions have been flying around for a long time now, the Muslim North because of their expansive landmass have always thought that should mean bigger populations than any other parts of the country. They have been living under this false belief for a long time to come, but this is erroneous to me especially when one considers the fact that many Muslims are fast turning to Christians at an exponential rate just check out the numbers of Wasius, Mojeeds, Akeems, Ibrahims, Aishats, Maryams, etc that are all over our Churches and you will marvel at what the ratio of Christians to Muslims will be in Nigeria of today! According to “Bible Probe” a few years ago, Al-Jazeera reported that roughly six million Muslims are leaving Islam and becoming followers of Jesus every year in Africa.
I wouldn’t mind if someone can supply the current ratio between the two (Of course, except it has been updated. The last time I checked, Muslims were higher in percentage - 2006 statistics courtesy Encarta 2009 edition). I have a convinced feeling that Christians are more now!

Why are you directing this at me?
plaetton:

So it is only the fear of god that keeps you from being a wild beast? Is that not an admission that without the belief of god, you have no moral compass, no conscience, no empathy, no humanity?

I have the above human attributes in abundance, and I dont believe in god.

So, who actually is a better human being with respect to ethics, morality, compassion and humanity, the religionist who pretends because he is fearful of the wrath of his loving god, or the athiest who embodies these virtous qualities within himself without the fear of any god?

Kindly answer.
Religion / Re: If There Is No God.... by Jenwitemi(m): 4:55pm On Jul 24, 2012
It is a good thing that you are only speaking for yourself.
Ayomivic: If there is no God, ha ha ha, meny ugly things would happen.

I remember what i told my wife in one of our conversation. I told her, she wasn't need to worry on may be i would have clandestine affair outside.I let her know that, not because she was so pretty or beautiful or because i love her,if to talk of that, there are many beautiful and lovable girls outside. I have never seen the person that like eating one type of food alway. He will like changing it once in a while .Who does not like the feeling of the worm flesh of different girls? But, i would not do that, not beause of any other things but because my God had ordered me not to do that. I know the implication of sleeping around than any other person. I let her know that ,if i later have another girls outside, she must know that to be a bad sign in my life. It is a sign that shows that i don't fear God any more.

Who is me if there is no God ? What is good or logical about me if there is no God?
If there is no God, i won't be gentle as i am, not in a country like Nigeria ,where the politicians seated on country natural resurces and used the gain realizing from it to benefit their families alone. In a country Where the rich men oppressed the poor.

If there is no God ,i will do anything, i mean anything to be rich. Why would i be poor why some would have riches? We would raither share the one they have since we are all human being and all deserve good or we all be poor.

Glory be to God in the highest. His creation is slendid. His law is perfect. No one can be compared with our God. Thank you for your fear that is in me.

plaetton: I have noticed over the years that psychopaths and other mildly insane people tend to be strongly attached to the so-called holy books, especialy old testament and Revelations .
There is something about the incoherency, the convoluted logic, the bloodshed, hatred, wrath and destruction that seem to resonate within fragmented minds of these old testament banner carriers.
