Religion / Re: Why So Many Atheists In The Religion Section? by Jenwitemi(m): 1:36pm On Jul 20, 2012 |
A christian goes to church, carries bible about, profess his/her love and worship of Jesus christ and awaits his return, believes Jesus died for the sin of mankind and arose on the third day to become christ. What else is there to know? What else have i missed? A religionist is, most times, religious. And that is what all christians are, RELIGIOUS. And the last time i looked, religious folks(eg. christians) have RELIGION like christianity which is, itself, a religion. FXKing2012: |

Quit the persecution talk, will you. It is old, already. Come up with something new and fresh. toba: Always Jumping into conclusion just to show ur hatred for Christians. Define a Religion and i'll prove to u that many Christians will not fit into your definition |

A christian is a religionist, dude. And christianity is very much a religion, no matter how much folks like you would love to think otherwise. Christianity has been a religion for the last two thousand years and you come along thinking you can change that? Delusion. FXKing2012: |

You bother about them because you can't do without them. Simples. FXKing2012: Why do we even bother trying to convince these atheists that there is a God or a spirit realm when they make up only about 3% of world population. In social sciences, anything below 5% is considered insignificant, so why expend so much effort and energy arguing with them? They ask stupid questions thinking they are smart as if the 3% are wiser and smarter than the 97% who believe in a higher being or the spirit realm. |
Religion / Re: Why Is Sin Regardedas Swag by Jenwitemi(m): 7:31am On Jul 19, 2012 |
Depends on what you mean by "sin". The word means different things to different people. lilcutie8916: In this generation of ours, sin is like the life blood in which it flourishes. Youths furnicate and regard it as fun, females dress half naked and call it fashion, u can can check the phone of a guy or chick now and u will find only trash there and they call it music, where the artist is either talking about sex or making money or nigbht club. We should all know that these are all the vices of the devil to lead this generation and that of the future to eternal damnation. Now youths run away from from any teaching thnat doesnt fit with their life .please we should have a rethink. I was once a sinner and by the grace of GOD i am a now born again and i have known no greater joy in the ever loving arms of JESUS and u too can do the same. |
Religion / Re: Why So Many Atheists In The Religion Section? by Jenwitemi(m): 7:29am On Jul 19, 2012 |
The problem here is that the two parties can't do without each other. Where there is an atheist, there will be a theist or religionist in the form of christians or muslims, as far as NR is concerned, at least. If atheists should decide to stay away, it won't take too long before the religionists start talking about them again by opening threads on them. You feed off each other and that is why both of you are in here all the time. FXKing2012: If I don't eat yam, then what the heck am I doing in the yam market if not that I'm just looking for trouble. This is the religion section, so it beats me when people who proclaim to be irreligious invade this territory of ours. This section is meant for Christians and religious people to motivate and build one another, not an avenue for atheists to launch all sorts of missiles on our faith. |

It does, actually. What is the point of this "code of conduct" that you talk about when all these men of whatever are not going to keep to it? The way i think of this is that if you can't keep to a code of conduct, then you don't have it. Simple. Mr_Anony: |

Your faith is a huge barrier for you, isn't it? If you are are you truly love the girl, then you would be sure. If you are properly scrutinized, it will be revealed that you do not really love the girl. If it is love, you will be sure and not go about looking for confirmation from some place else other than from your own self. I would advice you not to waste the girls time with your silly indecisions. treasure_mi: thanks bro.i love her sincerely jus that my faith wants more proof from God as a confirmation. maybe u dont understand me. |

Why? To get people's attention, of course. They need to keep the followers engaged and interested. What lies in the bible is getting less and less relevant in today's world. It is no longer enough to keep the interest, thus the scandals. Entertainment to the core. MacDaddy01: Why? Why are the most popular pastors, priests, popes, internet evangelists always guilty of one scandal or the other? |

So, it is better not to learn anything while we are here? Is that what you are trying to say? I think the bible need to put forward a clarification on that quote or else it is the bible that is foolish. After all, we did not come to this world with the said bible, either. buzugee: YOU ARE RIGHT, i was talking about material things. but this can also apply to worldly knowledge. scripture says For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. |
Religion / Re: Do You Really Own Anything In This World ? Or Are You Just Borrowing It by Jenwitemi(m): 11:07pm On Jul 01, 2012 |
Whatever you have learned is yours, of course. Those things you've learned are all part of your experience on earth. I think the OP is talking more about material things that we all run after like money, cars, blings, etc. They are all transient. okeyxyz: I'm surprised by the sorts of illogical answers posted here. How can you say "We own nothing, We are just borrowing.." I've been going to school since i was 6 years old, been through primary, secondary, university, now i have a masters degree, only to come on here to be told "i don't own my qualifications". Really?? Did somebody "dash" me these qualifications & certificates? did i not earn them by spending money, studying through pain, fear & tears & sleepless nights, eventually gaining the qualifications as witnesses to my achievements?? Well, if not me, then who owns them? let them step forward & prove that it was them & not me who registered & took the tests & exams, etc. |
Religion / Re: Do You Really Own Anything In This World ? Or Are You Just Borrowing It by Jenwitemi(m): 11:00pm On Jul 01, 2012 |
My life is my experience and my experience, at the end of the day, is only an illusion i'm having. So the answer to your question is, YES, it is an illusion. The only thing that is real is ME, the awareness itself, the consciousness, the one that is seeing. okeyxyz: |
Religion / Re: Do You Really Own Anything In This World ? Or Are You Just Borrowing It by Jenwitemi(m): 12:00pm On Jun 30, 2012 |
Nobody owns anything on this earth, not even the deity you believe in and worship. They are all met here and will be left behind. Everything one have here are just illusions anyway. They are not real. They come and they go, everything. |

First big FAIL there, plaetton. You want to have a discussion on "spirituality" and you invite someone like martian into the discussion?! It is like inviting a carpenter into a discussion on medicine or human physiology. Big fail, bro. plaetton: The word spirituality is probably one of the most ambigous and misused words. |
Religion / Re: What Is The Purpose Of Religion by Jenwitemi(m): 9:37pm On Jun 29, 2012 |
The purpose of religion has totally shifted away from what it was, originally. It was meant to help take our souls up in the spiritual evolutionary ladder. But instead, it is taking mankind down that same ladder. Religion has become a tool of mass programming and societal conformity. It has also, tragically, become a means of human mind control and conflict engineering by the ruling elite. Religion has become and has been - for 2 millenia now - a very useful and effective tool of mass control of the vast majority of the world populace by the very tiny minority, the ruling class. And in the case of Nigeria, it has become a means of extortion of money from poor people. |
Religion / Re: If Reincarnation Were Real, What Animal Would You Like To Re Incarnate? by Jenwitemi(m): 9:18am On Jun 26, 2012 |
I totally disagree with you here, bro. There is nothing like "human spirit" or "animal spirit", bro. Spirit is spirit and it is the same for all living organisms, simple or complex, terrestrial or extra-terrestrial. The spirit remains the same in it's formlessness because it is the ONLY THING IN EXISTENCE. But the most important information here is that the spirit can incarnate in whatever form it chooses to experience reality in and at whatever time it chooses. rawtruth: you were really absent-minded, otherwise u would have heard them saying that d human spirit would always reincarnate as human being and not into another form of life. Humanbeings only share only d gross material world with d other creatures but not so in d higher spheres where every thing is defined in its non-material characteristics b4 descending and incarnating through d various species on this earth. So, u can always reincarnate as a humanbeing, but with a personality that is built in line with ur predominant attitude during ur previous earth-life-unless u had put in some effort to redeem or lose what was lost or gained b4 ur death, in which case u reap what u sowed. The human origin is spiritual while d animals are from d animistic, so they can never reincarnate into the other. I hope u would pay a better attention when next d grail people call on u. Thank u. |
