Saying Tinubu knew what he was going to meet in government is ridiculous.

So, Tinubu knew Nigeria had only $3.7billion in its foreign reserve, not the $37 billion that the Buhari government led the country to believe.

Did Tinubu know that Emefiele, Buhari's assistant Tunde, and the Aso Rock gang stole billions of dollars and trillions of Naira?

Did Tinubu know that the Buhari government has sold most of the country's future oil production, collected the dollars and spent/stole it all?

Did Tinubu know that the past government was effectively handing over a virtually bankrupt country to him.

Why should Tinubu not blame the past government.

thank you. Why cant tinubu come out clean and say what is happening. This hide and seek is terrible.

Subsidy removal is not the cause of the issue. The criminal politicians have taken trillions out of the banking sector and converted some into dollars and held some in naira and these monies are not invested in the economy but stocked in homes, bunkers and tanks.

Banksters, BDCs, Pastors and Politicians as well as politically exposed business men are richer than Nigeria and have used the funds to weaponize the system.

What Tinubu needs to do, is ban BDC Operations, ban use of Dorm account, ban the use of dollars physically except electronically and change the naira notes immediately.

Na cowries dem dey pay for imports?

When your smuggled goods used to earn big men jail time, Naira was one and a half dollars.

When imports were selective and restricted Nigeria pound was one British pound.

Now that you opened your yash wide as dumping ground for junks from the high seas, used goods like electronics and clothes unlike any other country in the world, naira will continue to fall.

But you don't care as long as you can import junk and run to the black market.

Na the amount of naira you dey carry go black market dey pain you.

lies. When a good leader enters there you would be shocked how naira would climb. A leader that is proactive, someone that doesnt bend to imf, someome that is not corrupt. They blame the masses for the dollar, but buy cars with the dollar. Spend the dollar in choice hotels. Go to central america and see how your leaders launder money. Go and watch gold mafia. It is an african problem. They used our oil wealth as collateral and looted it to the ground. Sanusi exposed them they removed him. Now they are blaming emefiele but not buhari that printed 22 trillion without any security to back it up. Anybody that blames the masses for this mess may thunder fire the person.

why do you mention sending us money everytime?

Couple of things:

PS: My comments is for the Tech space.

1) Applying to 300 jobs and 100 decline. 12 interviews is pretty much a good stat

2) Markets hasn’t gotten saturated with lots of Indians, it’s always been that way.

3) Indians are not far ahead of you, they just have better information and embraces a sense of community.

4) Give high priority to how you package yourself, your resume should be high class. If you applying for a data analyst role, let your resume show past experience as a data analyst not data admin etc as your screenshot says. It dosent matter if you have the experience or not. Nothing is stopping you from having 5yrs exp as a Sr Data Analyst in a top tech firm in Nigeria before relocating (dosent matter if you have it or not, you get what I’m saying).

5) Uplevel your skills in the field you are going. You don’t need to pay for those $1k clases. You can DIY learning on Udemy for $10

6) Certification in not needed in Data Analysis or any high end analytics role (DE, DS, MLE etc).

7) have various resume of various job tittle with directly relatable quantified experience

8 ) If you in school, hunt for internships. Job hunting should be an integral part of your productivity. Set a goal to apply to >50 daily. Before you start applying complete number 4.

9) Don’t be limited to a single job family. What your degree is in, dosent hold more weight that your work experience. Your work experience is what you make it to be. Spread your search to other tech roles that dosent require SME knowledge (e.g Scrum, Project Manager etc)

10. Network network network. LinkedIn, LinkedIn, LinkedIn.

11. Applying to 300 jobs and 100 decline. 12 interviews is pretty much a good stat

That’s said, I don’t live in the UK, and I have never been to the UK either (I like in the States). It won’t take a big lift to get a >£100k job with sponsorship if I have the interest.

Happy to give more information to anyone willing to break into the Tech space, no dm’s will answer any question here if I am needed.

Thanks

the guy already got a good job. He doesnt need advise.

Is it the Nigerians that won't like to tell you where they work or referee you so you don't come to drag shift with them?
Although it's normal, I understand anyone will do whatever possible to protect their job etc.
Here everyone minds their business and once they know you have nothing or always ask from them they stop picking your calls.

Many forums I was, I know how I often disturb this people. Including the admin about my lack of job. Most of them just ignore. Other just say keep applying. Have you gone to this place, have you gone to this agency while they themselves know those agencies don't recruit anymore.

The bottom line is that job are now like before. Previously employers do organise job fair, where they come to stadium every now and then to look for people to fill their vacant position.
But today all that is gone. I have a long list of agencies, plus some that are scrapped from Google.. Call them or send them a message they said no vacancy. Go to them in person they said if anything comes up they put it up on indeed and job sites..

The jobs they have or what they expect or require is not what an average new migrant possesses.

You might think it's only you, but by them time you spend time with your classmates who came same months with you then you realised all are just putting on smiling face with no shimgbi.. No job. They are in same shoe like you are.

Let's just accept the simple fact. That's why I am telling those coming or intending to come to please hold 80% of funds most especially their school fees.

Saying one should avoid fellow applicants... Well I found strength in them. When I feel like giving up, I pick my phone, call two to three persons from different cities, their determination gives me more energy to keep pushing that I am not alone. If not I for don return back to Nigeria teh teh.

Although now I got a 20hrs job forklift... I did the certification course.
so you have a job now but you painted the picture of woes. Thats the typical nigerian. Even if you give them PM of uk,they would still complain.

i dont think you understood the write up. Do you know that the man that sells in african shop can link you up? Were you live, get nigerians who are already working, tell them to give you link. If no one is giving you link thats because they sense desperation from you. I know new nigerians that come in, they wont even say how you are doing, first thing they would tell you is job job job. Even when they get job, they wont even say thank you or call you as before. When you reach out to them, is always complain or guy how far now find me better job. So no one wants to put up with such. You have to gain people's trust and they will link you up.

Not here to argue with anyone here.

My advise that new and strrugling to break into the UK job market is that you engage with immigrants employed in the field and get advise and mentorship from them. Avoid or reduce the propensity to get this advise or mentorship from your fellow applicant who also is struggling to make headway or from someone who is disillusioned about the job market.

The UK still has a very high level of unfilled vancies and many employers will not mind employing an african immigrants who presents his/herself the right way. There may be some racial barrier, but I do not see the UK as a racist country. Also, location may also matter, but the uk is a small country, relocation should often not be a problem.

There is also good reason why the wage growth has been outstripping inflation even when inflation went as high as 6% - there's a big labour shortage here.

If you don't get here on nairaland, go on linkedin, using your nigerian uni or other nigerian unis, search for nigeria who migrated and ask them how they cracked it and what's the best way for you.

In my opinion, the most important barrier is your first job here (and it doesnt have to be your ideal employment but must have a clear relationship to where your going). Subsequent ones become much easier and in the country, you can switch jobs even 1 months after you join, employer will be fine.

Much like renting, your first rent in the open market may be hard, but when you decide to move , you find it much easier.

Peace

God bless you. People should read and digest. If you stay near london or you work in london, common jobs will pursue you.

This is for professional jobs I think IT..
When you have just 1 or 2 years visa but employer are looking for who got 5 years visa.

Even in the care sector, low end jobs etc. Same stuff.
This year January alone I personally have applied to more than 200 cleaning jobs. Only got 2 interview.we were many that came for the interview for a 10 hours job a week and I wil be spending 8 pounds for transport cos it's two drops from my place / 20 minutes and pay is 10.40 pounds per her and I will work for 1hr30mins per day
But I don't mind I said I will trek while coming back.

Am still waiting for their response now is February but I know they have employed one of us that came for the interview cos the interviewer was asking me if I have licence to mixed certain chemicals used for cleaning. What is the job all about self? Just one small store that sells baby stuff and u just clean the floor 7am before they open
do you live close to london? Also, network as well. Nigerians help each other a lot for work purposes.

You are welcome.
Just keep applying. Do a CV on cleaning, do in care, do on factory jobs.
Fot care.. Type care assistant with no experience on indeed and keep applying.

For cleaning.... Apply to those that where posted today.. In a day be apply for at least 10 to 20 new jobs.

On factory... Same thing.

Lastly do you have extra money to run a certification course... Like 800 pounds?

leave indeed. Pick phone and call them. Go to agency office and get something.

When I was shouting no job issues here people said I am lying or lazy.
You got to apply hundred of jobs and won't get one invite... Na so so unfortunately you will be seeing.

Back to your question, once they get to know through share code or BRP they won't proceed you further unless the job is 20hours or less per week.

I won't advise even my enemy to come to UK now except u have the full fees n all money
take phone and call. Trust me, even cleaning jobs get 400 applications. Besides without uk experience it is very hard.

Never venture outside Makurdi town into Benue communities.

Remain permanently in Makurdi, let no burial, or meeting, or committee, or event, take you outside of Makurdi.

Only Makurdi is safe in Benue.

If you stick strictly to Makurdi you’ll be fine.

Then be prayerful when travelling to another state as it is Rural communities you’ll pass through while going to another state.

Please you can advice here too, I don't want to go extreme yet. I want to have a friendly discussion with him first then the outcome determines what I will do next.

Either bounce or go into the dirty business of site management. Cement is also now expensive these days if you get the point.

I just want to know if the monthly salary or the daily pay which is fair
Your brother will only act or bend if he discharges you and another person cheats him. If you talk with him, you would only get promises. If he starts you on a salary he will pay for sometime and then stop. Generally people find it hard to give siblings money except in circumstances. Lets say you want to wed your brother will give you 10m because there is a feeling he owes you as a sibling.
So you have 2 options. Create a value chain around what you do especially for services. If the pop man say 50 naira, double it and give him the quote. The 50 naira on top is your cost of supervising the pop man. If carpenter say 50, double it. Agree with these guys on this .In that case your charges for managing the site are embedded in this extra cost. Dont add money on materials o. Because your brother knows. But for service double the money. Remember with exchange rate, these are peanut to him

Please I need help from those who have wide experience or have done the job before or how to go about it with brother so I don't sound rude.
the thing is that if you complain he might discharge you and look for someone else. The way you are thinking, is not the way he things. The 100k he sent to you is peanut to him. You would be shocked he sends more to others who are not doing much for him. You are a site manager and you deserve better. If your brother is not ready to give you a better offer, please look elsewhere. However, i will like to see what you do. You can dm me.

SW people are not too much into tribalism and religion. Most families have christians and Muslims. They vote mainly on the candidates antecedents and trustworthiness.
I remember one year I asked my mother and her friends to vote for Ribadu and not Jonathan as Ribadu would fight corruption. She declined, saying that the northerners have a born to rule mentality.
Buhari conned people. People thought he would fight corruption because of his record with Idiagbon. Nobody knew he was just a figurehead and that Idiagbon was the real ruler then.
Tinubu s record is greater than Peter obis as he faced huge adversities during his governorships tenure and moreover Obi is not trusted on security as he could release Kanu and thereby unleash Igboho and all the insurrectionists in Nigeria causing huge problems.
The south east has never brought forward any competent principled candidate. The presidency is a marathon not a sprint and requires strategic thinking. To win, the south east must present a political goliath that the nation would want to rally behind.
you are very funny. You cannot compare obi with tinubu. Tinubu is a master politician while obi all for leadership. Tinubu never presented himself for debates. He never spoke glowingly during campaigns. Then muslim muslim ticket, something that would have sunk this country and he didnt care. Even when buhari ruled aimlessly, he never spoke or raised his voice. It was only when the policy would affect his chances that he spoke. Even with how the country is, his appointment is along ethnic lines. You know what yoruba would carry the cross of this economic collapse alone. Igbos will not join to protest. Let everyone take responsibility for his or her choices.

Faiththatworks:
This is a very good move by the CBN, anything to retain some foreign exchange in Nigeria is a welcome development.
I even expect the CBN to go a step further and mandate all these IOC to retain at least 10-20% of the foreign earnings in Nigeria.
Although the NNPCL is supposed to retain Nigeria's share of the earning, but we all know most of the funds is paid into the Consolidated fund and shared by FAAC,and some remitted to our foreign reserve.
Il believe the CBN should go the whole hog and make the law,the continued milking of Our resources to cater for some foreigners must stop.
I want to use this opportunity to applaud Nigerians on Nairaland who have continued to use these hard times to proffer great solutions to the Government.
I keep repeating it, Nairaland should be the bastion of intellectual discourse online.
I'm very happy for all those who keep giving suggestions despite the hardship,I read of the person who gave suggestions on a thread some day ago on the BTA some days ago and now Government implemented some of his suggestions.
I will continue to advocate for Nairalanders to keep making useful suggestions to Government, don't ever feel your advice is not seen,I'm sure someone somewhere will read it.
We will not allow the hardship blunt our thoughts, this is time to come together to overcome this hardship with suggestions and ideas.
God bless Nigeria
then foreign investors will leave.

Romance / Re: My Girlfriend Is Giving Me Attitude Because I Didn't Celebrate Valentine by jesmond3945: 9:02pm On Feb 15
Supremedrizzy:
Women can be really funny at times and take frivolous things serious. My girlfriend came around to stay with me for a while, so she was kinda of expecting that we would celebrate Val or stuff but unfortunately I am low on funds cos I just settled some bills earlier this month.

After work today, I just bought only 1k palm wine because we enjoy taking it together, but I observed she was a bit moody. I just faced my front cos I had just 5k on me and I still have about 2weeks to go till the next pay day so I am being very prudent with it.

She kept making side comments about how other ladies would be receiving gifts from their boyfriends by now and other sarcastic talks. She lager opened up this night about how today is her worst val ever and it's more of a haters day for her. I told her to calm down, after all we have celebrated Val for the past two years very well so she shouldn't be upset about us not going out today. She insisted that it's not about us going out but I couldn't even get her fish or meat, I simply told her that I can't afford anything now and she's been giving me the cold shoulder.
see bro. It seems you dont understand how women think. Right now if another guy comes to her with better offer she would jump ship. Right now she is highly insecured that is why she is feeling that way. Jnsecurity is like a big hammer in a woman's head. If she feels insecured about you she would not be happy. A val gift is just a way to assure her that your relationship with her is secured. The same goes for you. So if you love your relationship, assure her that you got her covered. If not just pray another guy dont give her something
