hello guys, i have gone through the thread, my only challenge is that i dont have work experience, i have a BSc and also a Uk masters all related to NOC 2121. what are my chances? thank you

You must have at least 1year work experience to be able to apply but, most times, 1year is hardly enough. The little idea i can give you - if you did part-time or holiday job while in the UK and if you have done your NYSC, check if you did something similar in both periods and if its so, add the periods together and use it to apply(note that you wll be geting reference letters from the offices you have worked to show you have worked with them and what your duties were). If not, if your NYSC is a full one year, calculate if you willmake the 67/100 required score for fsw with just your 1year NYSC experience

Let me say this here, when calculating your years of work experience, please note that what CIC counts is the period spent on the NOC your application is based on e.g, if your application is based on NOC 1111 in which you have 2years experience but you also have 3years experience in noc 1221, CIC will award you marks for 2years only, they wont lump your total 5years work experience together cuz they are not in the same noc.

Good morning seniors and gurus in ghe house.
I just started following all posts with keen interest and I must say you all have been wlnderful.

Please I am seriously considering a change of environment and would like to apply for the skilled work programme.
I am blessed to be working in the very lucrative sector and the POF will hopefully not be an issue. I have started with the WES procedures and my husband and self will hopefully do the IELTS test come November.

I have done several eligibility tests like 4 times and was told am very qualified. Although my main intention is for the children to have a better life because we have teenagers on the verge of going off to school for A level next year.
My questions/clarification:
1. On determining your NOC, do you consider your proffession or your qualification because I couldnt find mine.
My qualification BSC Banking, and MBA, Proffession (Contract Administration , procurement and I have also worked as an executive administrator too all together I have 20 yrs of of work experience) but I am 44yrs. I couldnt find something that fits in the NOC. Can someone help?
2. My husband BSC Economics bjt proffessionally for almost 25yrs been into interior decoration but he is gonna be 50yrs by the end of the year. Though he doesnt plan to live there do you think his age could be an issue ?

Thanks and Regards God Bless

Your husband's age wont be an issue if you are the Principal Applicant but tell him to score nothing less than 6.0 in each of the segement of the IELTS Exam when you guys eventually take the exam. Your NOC should be 1225 and fortunately for you, you can use it to apply for SINP nomination which can help you secure extra 600points. However, to qualify to enter the pool, you need to have like CLB 9 or 10 in your IELTS. I mean, try to score 8.5 or 8 in Listening, 8 in Reading and 8 or 7.5 in both Speaking and Writing. Try very well to prepare for the exam, you will be happy at the end of the day you did. Regarding SINP, you have to prepare your pof NOW NOW cuz they require the sum of funds for your family size must have been in your account for 3months prior to application and there must be history to show it did not diminish at any point therefore, you can target their January application since your IELTS is in November and if you have prepared the pof now, by January you would have met the 3months requirement and as such, your application should be smooth sailing.

Hello House, i just stumbled on this thread not long ago. well done to you guys.
I need your advice please. My evaluation has been completed by WES but I am yet to receive the hard copy. I have sent several mails on their site with my reference number but i am yet to receive any response from them.
What can i do please?

If the amount you paid is 233.91CAD, it means you chose the option of them using normal mail to post the hardcopy to you and that's something you cant determine when it will get to you but, if its 322CAD you paid, they are supposed to send it to you via UPS i think, and UPS seems to take 7days.

Hello everyone....@dupyshoo and all the gurus in the house...kindly help a confused person out.
I studied Geophysics and I have 4 years experience in the banking sector.

I left the banking sector in 2012 now working in a recognized company in the country for a year and half now...but my job position is not part of the ones required by CIC.

I would like to know if I should apply or my spouse should.

My spouse holds BSc. Accounting degree, MBA and ACCA (yet to be a full member becos of experience) but has only one and half years experience in the banking sector.

Pls who should be the principal applicant.

Again kindly help a confused person out...

How did you know your job position is not part of the ones required by CIC? Let's know the exact job it is and, even if that were the case, you can use your previous bank job experience.

Regarding who will be better as the Principal Applicant between you and your wife, use the calculator below to determine:

ETX is a waste of time, they should mostly attract clients from those based outside the country without any link to their school back home. Best is to find someone who works in school, he/she will do all the leg work and follow-up but must be reliable and you will likely part with something wink

Good afternoon all. Please what's the duration for processing the Federal skilled workers Immigration Programme?

Its not predictable, depends a lot on your own peculiar circumstance e.g, if you dont get your Credential evaluation done on time, if you don't pass your IELTS sufficiently, if you are married and it will require your spouse to also write which he/she may not be willing and you have to do a lot of convincing, if you will need a PNP which most times is determined by your occupation and the province who has it on offer, etc. Lot's of things are determinant of how fast or how long it can be but i very well advice you dont bother about the duration rather bother about ensuring it works out for you cuz, the benefits are worth whatever input you will make

Thanks so much for your insightful response. I am looking to apply for Sask PNP and their POF requirment does not include documents that show property. I have landed property worth enough for my POF. How can i go about this? Cash at the point of entry isn't a problem. Thanks

Liquid cash in bank account or investment is what SINP accepts, they wont accept valuation of your property. Even Pension statement is mostly rejected so, you need to find a way of getting the cash, not forgetting the requirement that the funds equivalent to what is required for your family size must be 3months old as at the time you apply and must not have history that it diminished during the period. Also note that they use exchange rate for the date of application and as exchange rate for now is fluctuating, you may want to have buffer to accommodate any unforeseen spike in exchange rate at the time you will apply

GrandCommander:
Dear all, are job positions and experience such as Intern and Trainee eligible for express entry work experience

As long as it meets the below criteria, then it qualifies

Minimum requirements

Skilled work experience

Your work experience must be:

at least one year (1,560 hours total / 30 hours per week), continuous full-time or an equal amount in part-time,
paid work (volunteer work, unpaid internships do not count),
in the same job,
within the last 10 years, and
at skill type 0, or skill levels A or B of the 2011 National Occupational Classification (NOC).
Full Time

30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)

Part time

15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
OR
30 hours/week for 12 months at more than one job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)

You must show that you did the duties set out in the lead statement of the occupational description in the NOC, including all the essential duties and most of the main duties listed.

If you cannot show that your work experience meets the description in the NOC, you are not eligible under this program.

A word of advice to everyone who plans to apply to the currently open SINP OID or is already on the process, ensure you attach all required documents and forms. SINP is no longer smiling with incomplete applications, they send them back, unlike previously when they may ask you to send some documents you missed while submitting your application. There was a case in the last OID intake in which an application was returned in just about 1hour after submission just because copy of IELTS was not attached outof about 17 or 18 forms and documents that were attached so, try and do due diligence so you don't end up wasting all those efforts and precious time SINP takes.

Best wishes

Hello everyone ..pls pardon me for any violation of the rules, am new here. Pls I would like to know if I qualify for any of the entry processes? I have MSC in biomedical science from the Uk. I have never worked except for youth service. I am in the third year of my PhD and am 30 years old. Please help me choose the correct pathway. I am married and my husband is 33. A civil engineer by profession. I have not written the english test yet and I am concerned about the work experience aspect.

You need 1year work experience to qualify to apply but even at that, your score based on having finished your Phd, scoring clb 10 in your IELTS and hubby scoring like band 7 in all his own ielts as well including having a Masters that he has evaluated will come to 466, provided you can even get an NOC for your NYSC Experience. If you are keen on doing it now, then let your hubby be the Principal Applicant. 466 can't get you selected for now in the Express Entry pool and hubby might be able to get a Provincial nomination which will earn you extra 600points an ensure you get selected on time so, you may wanna try my suggestion

Good morning everyone. This is really bothering me. I worked with a company as a sales and purchasing assistant manager between 2011 and 2013(skill type A) . Although the company isn't functioning anymore. But presently, I work as a cashier, (which is skill type C).
I intend claiming points for my previous job, is that going to be possible? And besides, my previous company isn't functioning anymore, but I can manage to get a letter from my former boss, stating that I have worked with the company before.
Please, do you think this will work? And is it possible I neglect the work I have now, as it is just a skill tye c, which can't be used for EE purposes...

The previous work experience will work, you cant use the present one as it doesn't qualify

Hello guys,

I'm new to this forum but have been reading up on all the posts.

I really need your help here. I registered on the EE system and came up as ineligible. No scores were displayed on my profile.

My IELTS results is L7, W7.5, S8, R8.5, Overall 8.0
My NOC is 1121, have about 7 years experience in Human Resources, a Master’s degree which has been verified by WES. Age 43, Single. I don’t have a job offer in Canada, I don’t have a provincial nomination and I don’t have a relative in Canada. Funds available to move to Canada is $15,000. I put in both my Bachelors degree and Masters degree. Both have been verified by WES.
What could be responsible for this ineligibility report? How do I go from here?

I also have a second career as a Pharmacist with NOC 3131 . I have part time work experience with this. I didn’t use this in the application because it is a regulated profession requiring examination and certification before I can practice it in Canada. Can I put in another application in the EE system using this?

Your responses will be truly appreciated.

Cheers.

From what i can see here, you score 64 but you need 67 to qualify. Also, you may be single but if you have a child and you indicated you have one, you will need more than 15000CAD. Even if you rewrite IELTS to score 8 in Listening, your score will still only come to 66 and as such, it appears you may not be able to make Express Entry as other areas where you could have gotten some points to jerk you up aren't exploitable, namely spouse IELTS or close relative in Canada.

The only thing i'm thinking can work is if you are able to adapt your Pharmacist work experience to the job roles of a Purchasing and Supply Officer with NOC 1225, so as be able to use it for SINP OID. You must however have nothing less than 4years work experience to qualify.

Change to another bank card, if you are still having issues with the one you are trying to use. It however appears GTBank card sails through most times.

Please, is there a restriction in age for permanent residency? What other options can one have at over 40 years old?

Not exactly, just that you don't get any point for age from 47 upwards. The option you may have if you are over 40 is to ensure your spouse also writes the IELTS and you should actively seek a provincial nomination or if you have a Masters, nothing less than 6years experience in the same occupation and you must score 8,7,7,7 LRWS in your IELTS. Even at this, if you are above 42 and you are single, it wont work

Hello people!

Well done to everyone helping 'everyone' here.

I have seen my question talked around but no very clear answer yet please. Kindly advice someone who has BSC and MBA I know the highest certification is what is to be verified BUT does anyone know of anyone, or can anyone prove that verifying both can give more points?
Please respond I just want to be certain before moving on.

Thanks!!!

Its the same point you will get either you evaluate the two or you evaluate the highest. However, if both qualifications are from a Nigerian school, it may be wise to evaluate only the MBA as one school may delay the other if you decide on the two

Hello, Please i need clarification on some things.
1. At what point will the proof of funds be needed. Before ITA or After PR?
2. Which is more acceptable, current account or a fixed deposit?

Thanks for your support. My IELTS is tomorrow hopefully i can score high band.

It is required after ITA. You are to submit it as part of the documents to be submitted to get your PR Visa. Fixed deposit may be better to show as pof as they hardly question its source unlike having a transactional account which you may possibly pay the lump sum into an they will query where it came from vis a vis sometimes checking your payslip to determine if you really have the source to have accrued such amount.

Hi all,

The journey that started last year May has finally come to an end. We finally landed in Canada yesterday. Glory to God as we are now officially Permanent Residents of Canada. Nothing much was asked except if we have new family members and if we have any criminal record. Even POF was not asked.

Want to wish everyone with their applications still in process all the best. For those that are still awaiting ITA and PNP, God will perfect it and finally for those who are contemplating on starting this Canadian PR journey, please start as soon as you can, you have got nothing much to lose.

I will still be on the forum to answer any questions you may have but I won't be able to answer any job related questions as we are only doing short landing. We will be travelling back home in the next few weeks as we are not planning to move to Canada permanently until the next 2 years.

Congrats Dupe! Thank God for you. Meanwhile, this is a public forum, censor some things

thank you for your response SlowlybtSurely. i would like to add that i have a one year NYSC experience with a very reputable firm in an in-demand occupation. however the company is adamant that they don't give reference letters for NYSC but they gave me a letter of service only stating the duration and job tittle. is there any way that can help?

If they can write that it was full-time and mention the number of hours you worked a week and how much you earned during the period plus highlighting your job title and duties, it may work. Otherwise, get someone there who is a supervisor or something to write for you on plain paper then scan his/her business card on it, that will be sufficient as CIC understands that there are instances where some companies wont issue such letters to their employees. Note that the letter must contain all i highlighted earlier. Best Wishes!

Hi,

Can anyone advice on which of these two phones i can go for? I presently use a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 but i'm trading it in to get either of those two and as such, i want the one that is closer in all features to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I will like reviews on which of them is better in graphics quality and durability. ASUS should be better in performance as it boasts a 4GB RAM compared to the 2gb ram of Infinix Note 2 but, i also like the big size of the Infinix however, display quality, durability and performance are of priority. Thanks
