Yes, she has MSc from University of Lagos. Would be glad to know how that works please!

For PNP, do you have any province in mind considering her occupation (Accountant:General)?

Check NOC 1111 for her to see if she fits and then look up Nova Scotia PNP, they may start soon. It's online now and you may have to upload all required docs in readiness for when it will open

Please house I want to ask a question. please can a doctor who has not passed the proffessional exams in canada apply for the express skills entry ? please i am so confused.

You certainly can, the professional exam to practice in Canada as a doctor has nothing to do with applying for Express Entry. I however advice that you attempt the stage 1 of the exam while you are processing the EE thing, I learnt they write it in Ghana and you can get a job with it when you get over there instead of wasting more time preparing and writing the exam over there, you will at least be working and preparing for the remaining 2 stages

Oh, Medical doc evaluation is different, thanks for the info. I am just hearing this, anyways i will get to it then. Do you know any medical doc that had his done successfully?

Mehn, these ielts scores requirements are looking quite high, I hope this is possible! Any key tips on dis ielts aspect? My friend who did well in ielts academic, sent me his pdf materials but honestly ehn, dey are much and I don't know if it is same materials for ielts General! (what's the difference sef?)

Lastly pls will the evaluation of medical degree or whole process pose any problem, if I carry out every from Saudi Arabia? (viz a viz police cert, bank statements etc)

Thanks and Godbless you too.

None will pose any problem doing it from your present base. It might be cumbersome getting to read all those pdf things but the upside of using materials for Academic to prepare for General is that it makes you better prepared as Academics is harder than General.

You might check with WES if your diploma in HR can be evaluated as well. It might earn you extra CRS score. However, you do not need to send your WAEC. Just send your BSC and diploma transcripts and certificates.

Years of experience above 3 years do not count. So, you might as well use only your current work experience.

Ermmm....actually, above 3years work experience will be useful in garnering the required 67 points under the 100points grid for FSW, which one is first assessed by before being scored for EE. 6years gets one the maximum score for work experience under FSW.

Everyone should please note this concerning NOCs, any NOC which its second digit is from 4 upwards will fall under skill type C or D, which does not qualify to apply for FSW programme under Express Entry. You may however check some province's nomination programme as some of them allow people of Skill type C to apply.

Well, I have a year experience in NOC 2451.
My msc and undergraduate degree has been evaluated by wes (16th March)
My IELTS general is L7.5 W6.5 R7 S7. Though I'm rewriting another one on the 30th of April.

Basically, my intention was creating a profile and know where I need to accrue more points. Instead, when I filled the application it was an instant inellegible status.

Your Occupation won't make you qualify(it appears it's not under Skill 0 or type A or B which are the occupations that are eligible), besides, it does not appear like there's anything like NOC 2451. This is aside the fact that 1year work experience is also not likely to suffice, even when it is the minium required, it hardly makes you get enough score in the FSW 100 point grid.

Thanks much for the encouragement. I just found a center to write the ielts exam here in Saudi arabia. (please when you say ace the ielts, do u mean a score of 7 at least in each section? What's a good score to get)

In the meantime, will start the academic evaluation of my mbbs as soon as possible.

As regard your advise, you are suggesting I officially create a profile in November? Is that what you mean?

Anyways I will finish reading the thread pages so I understand how it works.

Concentrate on having your credential evaluation done, it especially takes time for doctors and please note that, it is medical council of Canada that will do your evaluation www.mcc.ca

Meanwhile, you aim at scoring clb 10(Canadian Language Benchmark) in your IELTS, that should conveniently get you to be invited to apply. You may only be able to create your profile after you have had your evaluation done and you have your IELTS result, which you are encouraged to score 8.5 in Listening(it's like 38/40), 8.0 in Reading(that's like 36 -37/40) and 7.5 each in both Writing and Speaking. God bless you

Which Master programme are you looking at? The application period for Masters may have closed, I think they close it either end of January or end of March, you may look it up. It's an affordable school, about the cheapest in Canada but the Masters admission may be a bit tough except if it's a course that's not so competitive. I was offered admission there some years back but didn't get visa. You need to not only prepare for admission, prepare also for the visa. Best wishes

My verification seems to be taking too long

Does the verification process not involve mail confirmation by the institution? Or how is it done
Its 3months already and it says "Awaiting verification from institution
Anyone in Lautech who has been through this process
Pls how did u do it
Thanks in anticipation to your prompt response

If they claim they haven't seen email verification request from WES, send fax to WES that they should resend verification request via email to - transcript@lautech.edu.ng, that should by God's grace fasttrack things.

Thank You all for your comments.

I have three years work experience in IT security. However, my CRS score is just about 441. Im currently taking a Post graduate certificate online which would definitely increase my score when evaluated by WES.(two or more certificates or degrees)

Also, Im applying for study permit for my masters in canada. In the event that I'm in Canada on a study permit and I receive my ITA based on the FSW program because I would have more points at that time, would i still be eligible to apply for PR ?

Thanks again.

Yes. Your PR Application is based on factors required which you meet. Its irrespective of your location

Thanks for your kind response. I currently work as an IT administrator, have a first degree in computer science but from the crs tool, the accumulated points didn't get up to 450pts. Any advice on what to do to rack up more points?

Check those provinces for details of their programmes. You may also qualify for New Brunswick but you have to attend one of their information sessions to be able to qualify. They also have priority occupations list and IT is one of them, which gives you a leverage. Check their website as well for details. Finally, one other way is by improving your IELTS score but I doubt if it will get you above 450 cuz of the Bsc you have, which you have to even be younger than 30.

Hello All,

Please Im in need of an urgent response to my enquiry.

Are students with valid study permits in Canada Eligible for getting PR through express entry before the completion of their degree ?

My situation is this:
I'm applying for the study permit. Coincidentally, I am also in the process of gaining another degree which would boost my Express entry points in the pool. (Just for WES to evaluate and i would have more points...Just enough to get an ITA)

Now, once I have the study permit and Im in Canada, can i apply for Permanent Residence if my EE points are enough to get an invitation to apply ?

Thanks,

Yes you can but, have you figured out how you'll have to part with your passport while still in Canada?

Good day my people,

Ewoooo...never knew we plenty for dis journey to Canada o. I pray we will al sail thru wiv success iJn.

first of all introduction...

I am Mrs Opeyemi a Christian, married wiv kids. My husband (early 40s)-A chemical engineer (d principal applicant) has been in express entry pool since last year with crs of 278. so no possibility of getting ITA soon. most of our family members are in Calgary. but my sister advised we get a sponsor to nominate us for Manitoba provincial nominee. that d certificate if successful ll boost our points. having searched thru most of d provinces, we discovered my husband is most qualified for Manitoba and Saskatchewan. But d challenge is dat we ll need a friend/family in Manitoba with PR visa to nominate us. Pls does any one know how to go about it. if one could get a paid sponsor in Manitoba to nominate us. Thanks and God bless!

You'll be on a long thing cuz, family is what can help you get into Manitoba presently, friend connection is a long thing which may not even be sure for now. There could be other ways by which you can get in. I see you write well, that means your English is good...what's your profession?

Hello fam,

Please I am kind of confused, how can someone get a provincial nomination as I realized it takes an additional 600 points. Please gurus in the house (Zandora, JesusDway, Dupyshoo et al). Please explain to me. thanks

Well....depending on your profession and if you meet the requirements for the provincial nomination of each of the province. However, the ones you may be presently eligible for will be Saskatchewan(not sure when it will open again this year), Nova Scotia(likely to open in June but they have list of occupations they want people for and yours must be there to qualify, same with Saskatchewan), Prince Edward Island(you only need to send a pdf form to them where you provide some details about yourself and they then contact you if they want you) and Manitoba(you will need to know someone there who will be ready to sponsor your application).

thank you so much for this reply. Now something else worries me, age! I'll be 36 in 2 months, how does this affect the application.

Also, procedure...do I apply for my transcripts from the school before taking the IELTS? What do I do about schools that refuse to give transcripts to students, considering I need to send my certificates too? Plus, when do I create a profile on the EE website. Now or after the whole evaluation thing? Also, to confirm, so hubby and I are doing the IELTS, abi ? Thanks so much

Sorry for the bother pls

You and hubby will write, this is to help shoot up your score. Age will drop your marks with like 5points i think. IELTS has nothing to do with getting your transcripts to be sent by your school to WES but, you must pay WES first and get a reference number which you will give to school as they will quote it in the covering note for the transcript. Schools generally dont give transcripts to students, so just pay them to use courier to send it to wes for you. Meanwhile, i advise you find a way of getting a scanned copy cuz there could be opportunities that will come which will require you to send scanned copies your transcripts.

I hope with these few points of mine, i've been able to convince you and not confuse you.... grin

Canada has a small economy compared to other developed countries, so they need to find a way of generating money apart from their resource based economy.

It could be a reason why its difficult to get jobs in Canada, the employers and regulatory bodies put a lot of blocks to make it hard immigrant to penetrate the job market easily. (yes, man know man is very common in Canada-most jobs are not advertised). Hence a lot immigrant return back to their country once they get the passport or cross over to the US. Canada's population always revolve around 33-25million cos people are always coming and leaving. The GDP of California alone is bigger than that of Canada.

People shouldn't expect to get rich in Canada except you are a doctor, pharmacist, physio, Nurse (if Overtime hours are available), highly experienced IT, or highly experienced engineers, technologists and technicians in the oil field.

Overall, it's a excellent country to raise kids, and live a comfortable life.

Everyone has stories. Much as what you have noted here may be happening, there are still people having an headway, Zandora here even shared her own experience. I've also read from someone who got a job like days after getting there so, it might just be different strokes for different folks. Dont get me wrong, i'm not putting down your submission but like someone mentioned, it may be necessary you avoid negative people and negativities when you get there so you don't get discouraged in the process of finding your feet.

Goodday every one. Pls i have few questions. Unfortunately for me, i used an agent who doesnt carry one along well enough. I was picked form the general pool without provincial nomination, but i was out of the country for some months and couldnt get the uk police report as i studied there for a year (cos i was preoccupied). The rest of my documents r ready, can i go ahead to submit those without the police report (note i left the uk every 3mnths during the course of the program).
Also is there an email i can send a message to, asking for ab extension due to my inability to get some documents because i was out of the country for medical reasons? It expires in 3days time and i am confused as to what step to take.
Thanks in advance

You would have to let it go. Tell your agent to recreate a new EE Profile for you cuz the one you have now will expire when you dont submit your application. When he/she recreates your profile, you can then be in the pool again and get the chance to be selected again, then you can submit your documents to apply. Note that, it may not take time for all this to happen so, ensure you obtain the UK PCC asap.

I no longer know what to do. We have been together for 8 months and I want to marry her quickly. I have my reasons. She has been my childhood crush for years and now that she gave me a chance I don't want it to slip away. Many guys flock around her so before one asks her to marry him I had to do it first. And she is very responsible and definitely not a fling.

But I have problems with her aggression. A little thing she picks an issue with it and starts dishing out hurtful words to me. I always try to apologise and make her happy even when she is wrong not me just so she will be calm. It was working before now it no longer works. Whenever I try to make her happy she gets more angry and tell me I'm trying to patronise her. If I take her out on shopping she will be so angry that I'm trying to buy her with money that I don't love her.

My fellow brothers, what do I do? There was a day I had to invite my sister to come talk to her as woman to woman talk this lady pulled the belt on her jeans and began to assault my sister I'm grateful to God that I was there even my left eye is still bruised wth the way she hit me too that day. And the worst of it all is everytime she gets more angry and more violent.

I threatened to call off the wedding thinking it will make her rethink but it didn't instead she got angry that day and pushed me against the wall. God saved me beause if there was knife or bottle around that day with the way she was angry sh could have used any on me.

Please I need assistance from matured minds. I love her so much that I don't want to call off the wedding I want her to be wife but her aggression is too much. She get angry easily. She outrightly told me no sex till marriage and I can't do anything about because she seems stronger than I am (Yes she works out alot. Perhaps because she is a model or so i don't know)

I need help.

You have no idea what you are about getting yourself into, i advise you suspend everything including relationship with her. Trust me, people wanna divorce just a month after their wedding and that's what you will likely face if you marry her. Your eyes will suddenly open to what you are in for the rest of your life and you will wanna bail. You wont be the man in such marriage, i mean, this is a girl who have the gut to assault your own sister right in your presence and you have even attested to the fact that she's stronger than you, what do you think will happen if you have arguements in the marriage? You want her cuz she'll be a trophy wife, i pity your life, you'll know trophies can be lost, even Barca can lose their champions league trophy this season. Trust me, i dont see that marriage working, if you dont end up divorcing her, you will likely cheat on her in the marriage cuz you wont have peace with her and thereby open yourself up for temptation by other women. Infact, she herself can divorce you at the end of the day as she may not see you as man enough. You better throw away that your sissy love or feeling cuz as they say If love is blind, marriage will open your eyes, its better you learn from the saying than to experience it. If she really loves you, she will respect you somewhat. A word is enough for the wise

Thank you very much. The question I am actually trying to ask is - do you think my chances of being nominated will increase if I claim 6 years experience in 1 NOC instead of claiming both ( one as main and the other additional) everyother thing being equal. I have no ties to Canada at all. thanks once again.

3years and above is the highest required years of work experience so, it really doesn't matter if you claim 6years, you will very likely end up with the same score. Your IELTS score, your level of qualification and age are the major factors that determine your overall crs score and chances of being selected.

Please I would like to know. if it is advisable for me to claim two NOC. I have a total of 3 yrs experience.

3 yrs - NOC 2282 (2 different companies)

3 yrs - NOC 2281 (the same comapany, my current company)

Do you think it will be a disadvantage or an advantage because based on my CRS score i have to go the PNP route.

I have a great relationship with my supervisor He will sign anything, I need to claim the right NOC while it is still possible.

Thank you.

One of them is what your EE assessment will be based on with the number of years of experience you have in it so, you can choose either as the main noc while the other will be additional. Meanwhile, both of them seem to be in demand in provinces like Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia so, go and check out those provinces and do the needful e.g, you can start your profile for the Saskatchewan when you go to their website and upload required docs and forms so that when they open it, you just submit before others fill it up.

Best wishes

Good day house,

Well done to the brain behind this particular forum, as well as all the contributors. It has been very enlightening.

Please, do assist me with answers to the following questions:

1. I have a National Diploma (ND) & Higher National Diploma (HND). Do I need to submit both to WES for verification as a request for my Canadian FSWP application or can I forgo the ND and get the HND alone verified?

2. If I am to use both the ND & HND, will WES, charge me separately for both transcripts or do I get billed once, since they are coming from the same applicant?

3. Also, I know I will need a reference number when submitting my transcripts through my school; Do I need to pay the application fee to WES before I receive the reference number, or can I go ahead and apply on WES webpage to get the reference number and pay later on?

4. How much does WES charge for the verification of applicant's transcripts? Also, what is the turn around time to get feedback from WES?

Thank you HOUSE...

You will need to send both ND and HND to WES for the evaluation and they wont bill you separately, its just the single amount they charge everyone. Meanwhile, what you will be doing at the moment is not verification, verification is done by WES after you have initially sent them copy of your certificate and transcript sent by school. WES then sends verification request to your school to confirm the transcript came from them and when school responds, thats when WES eventually does the evaluation.

You will get the reference number after you have paid to WES and the amount is either 233 or 322 CAD, depending on whether you want them to send the result to you via normal mail or courier.

Turnaround time depends on when WES gets verification response from your school, which is definitely after they must have first gotten the transcript. They stated on their website that they process the evaluation in 20days or business days(cant say precisely now, check their website) after they have gotten the verification response from school.

Thank you so much for your reply. I really appreciate the help.and im devouring it all up. I'm trying to read up all I can and I'm just learning the abbreviations and the lingo on here. You guys are doing such an amazing job.

I have a Masters degree and No, I'm not in litigation practice. I work in healthcare. So do you think provincial nomination might be the way to go? How does that work? Which province is best? How long does it take generally. Or should we stick with the FSW. I'm just trying to weigh all options available.

Also, I have a sister I'm presently seeing thru Uni, can I add her as my primary dependent and go with her even though she's 20?

Thanks and Happy Sunday

There are many occupations in healthcare, the exact one you do is what can help us know if there are provincial nominations you can apply for. You are not restricted to any programme as such, you can do both fsw and provincial nomination at the same time. Infact, there are some pnp that needs you to have registered fsw under Express Entry first. My advice is that since you have a Masters, you should be the principal applicant and you guys need to move very fast with your credential evaluation processing and doing your IELTS, provided you have finally decided to move.

Regarding your sister, you cant take her along, the people that qualifies as dependants are hubbies and children.
