coolhayor: 300k is not what you should jeopardize Canada for, the total value of what you'll enjoy over there is certainly worth more than 300k. Come to even think of it, how much will be left of your salary if you are to pay school fees for 4 children at a go? My suggestion is that you do Canada. Meanwhile, I suggest your wife be the Principal Applicant cuz age is on her side and Law degrees get same point with Masters. You may also apply as PA if your occupation is one listed by some of the provinces. You both should aim at scoring highest obtainable score in IELTS. 14 Likes 1 Share |

Education / Re: I Applied For MSc But Foreign Supervisor Said School Is Accepting Me For PhD by JesusDWay(m): 10:06pm On May 04, 2016 |
Team16: From what I'm seeing here, you likely applied for a Research based Masters and, in Canada, having a PGD means your Masters will be concluded in a year. I'm also of the opinion that you must have mentioned in your statement of motivation that you want to proceed to PHD after the Masters, this may be why your supervisor feels there's no need wasting a year of research since you'll do same in PHD, considering you must already have sufficient background in your pgd and your area of interest likely is more chemistry related. So, I think the man possibly knows what he's doing but if you are still feeling jittery, then write him to try and explain why he feels you can proceed to PHD and if his reasons are likely that what you will do in the Masters is still part of what you will do in Phd. I however also suspect you may want to add Masters title to your accolades , if that's the case, ask him if you can run the two programmes concurrently. Best Regards 1 Like |

Munageez: Thanks much for this and, would appreciate if you can post the link to the blog. I also wouldn't mind if you can highlight the steps taken in getting your license, how long it took and how much it costed. Also, was there a need to do IELTS and if there is, what is the minimum required score for each section of the IELTS? Thanks once again. I will in the meanwhile see if i can search for the blog 1 Like |

Only the Principal Applicant MUST do the evaluation, the spouse's own is just to get a little additional marks. Meanwhile, i dont see why you have to open a thread for this when there's a general purpose thread for Canadian Immigration that has been opened already. |

harlyon: You have been advised to look at Australia instead. I will advise you write PTE English Test instead of IELTS. I learnt it's easier and since you will likely need a very high English Test score cuz of your educational level, I think you should take that option |

revlane: Note that an educational evaluation body has to evaluate your qualification first before it will be acceptable to CIC so, if a body like WES can evaluate it and state that it is accredited then, you are good to go. Your uncle is in a better position to determine if he can get you an LMIA. |

Etfash: It's a bit cumbersome. Your PNP Nomination certificate should also carry your wife's name before it's sent to CIC. I would rather advice you do the marriage after submitting your docs for PR(after ITA), that way there won't be delay in your application. If you do it before ITA, CIC may want your spouse included in the nomination which will then mean you refer back to the province that your situation has changed and they then issue another certificate to include your wife and then forward it again to CIC. In all what you'll do, remember a PNP Nomination may not last more than 6months in validity 2 Likes |

40manlappy: If it's possible to do the Treasury Bills in her name, going forward, it will be better. You have less hassles with CIC sniffing round disparities that may occur in the average balance of each month for the 6months history required(which mostly applies to Savings and Current Accounts). With FD and TBills, just write a letter of explanation to show it is the two she's using cuz it appears a lot of case officers just pick one out of the two when there's nothing saying the two are used together, which may result in they concluding you don't have sufficient money. Hope this helps? 1 Like |

tolurigs: No, ICAN doesn't give two or more certificates. So far, it's only ACCA that we have seen that gives 2 or more certificates cuz it's evaluated as equivalent of Bsc. Had it been the Diploma was done after Bsc, it would have given you 2certs but since, it was done before, it's like a progression to a higher degree. |

beyunce: It appears they upgraded their requirement - the Administrative Assistant now has to be Bilingual. In addition, some group of folks I know are beginning to send them emails for them to consider holding an information session in Nigeria, they have planned to do one in India. So, y'all might join in sending them emails as well, persuading them why they should come hold a session here as well. |

I think i need to say this as i'm experiencing being banned almost all the time or some of my comments removed. It seems Justwise is always suspicious of my comments after the last incidence, to the extent that i'm no longer free to write the way i want, i have to censor and censor so that my comments dont get raise suspicion and consequently removed or i get banned. I'm not trying to blow any trumpet, we still have people here who are knowledgeable but there could be a need to check the replies we give people so people dont get misled, its one of the major reasons i stayed otherwise. It can be very embarrasing when you are trying to be of help and someone chooses to frustrate your effort 1 Like |

Zimex: Maybe there's something there that was not clearly stated. There's someone who had such experience until it was discovered that in his wife's history, the period of NYSC was the problem as they wrote NYSC there and oyinbo no know wetin NYSC be, they then had to write it in full for oyinbo's understanding so, check very well what yours could have been, anywhere you used acronym, change to full name. |

40manlappy: I know someone who did fixed deposit just 2days before submitting her docs and she was given. She however submitted other things like statement of her salary account and wrote a letter of explanation. Like i said earlier, the 6months thing is mostly for savings and current account, not investment stuffs like FD and TB or Gift Deed. |

chinchum: CIC does not require the fund to be 6months old, they just want 6months history(mostly for those using Savings or Current Account), the balance at 6months when you are submitting whatever you are using as pof is what matters so, your gift deed is not required to be 6months old. |

iphie25: Concentrate on the Remark, the remark wasn't written for fun, it explains better the evaluation and captures the fact that its a First Professional Degree needed to practice, which is exactly how CIC stated what can count for a professional degree. Meanwhile, haven't you heard from them yet? |

Fortissimo: Didn't read any feedback on them, it's just my own double cent I gave. Meanwhile, those case officers can make mistake sometimes, maybe if she has time, she should request for GCMS Notes, it will reveal how exactly the case officer arrived at that decision and will better help her reply. It costs 5dollars, if she has someone there, let them so it for her fast so she can package a convincing reply. |

Fortissimo: This is the same letter I keep seeing almost everyone they want to deny, I just hope they are not doing it deliberately. One possibility is that they likely worked with only one of the POF and left out the other one, something similar to this has caused trouble for people in the past. What she should have done was to write a letter of explanation as the first thing they will see on the page for pof, where she would explain she's using a combination of 2 pofs and give the official exchange rate and do the maths for them. That way, they won't have choice than to use the two. I actually don't think they can use black market, it's totally unprofessional. The solution may be to go to CBN's website and print out the exchange rate, then attach it the ones she submitted earlier and write a letter of explanation that it is the accounts she's using as her pof and that the exchange rate as stipulated by CBN, when you used to do the math for the combination of the two pof shows she has more than sufficient. Alternatively, she can get extra money from her parents and get a gift deed for it that they gave her as a gift for her relocation plans 2 Likes 3 Shares |

Fortissimo: If you can get a copy of the letter, we would better know what exactly the issue is cuz, asking for additional funds may also be because the person doesn't even have the required funds earlier or, submitted before the required amount for each family size was reviewed upwards this February so, let's have the real details and we can know what to advise. Of however the situation shows the person had the money but it's exchange rate that became an issue, then let the person get funds from his/her parents and let them write a Gift Deed for him/her, that should work 1 Like |

iphie25: Iphie....you are right all along, I think the problem with the back and forth between our amiable Dupyshoo and Nittaj is 'English'. What is the difference between Bachelor Degree and Bachelor of Laws? They are both first degrees, nomenclature is the difference and since CIC has elaborated on how we are to read ECA report of which the requirement for those classified as professional degree is 'First Degree required to practice' which is what is required here and the Credential and ECA remarks already stated it is 'Bachelor of Law' which is 'First Professional Degree'....it shows it is to be taken as such and gets the same marks for Masters. Furthermore, the Canadian Equivalent which is what is causing controversy is to be noted that Canadian equivalent will always state whatever is assessed and is acceptable as a Degree, Diploma or Certificate, there's no ECA report that will state its Canadian Equivalent as Bachelor of Law or Masters of Law or PhD Law, it will always be Bachelor Degree or Masters Degree or Postgraduate Diploma etc, it is the Credential and Remarks that will mention the specific. 2 Likes |
