God said he will require the blood of the people we ought to win to him from us, thats why paul said he was free from blood. Alot of christians today are doing nothing about the blood of christ that has been shed. A day will come we will all stand before the master to give account our works on earth. God dont like unproductivity, their are too many lazy christians today. Some are just sitting waiting to be raptured, there is an assignment, we should wake up to the assignment of the great commission.

Same way christians are lazy to work, alot just pray for blessings but they will not improve on themselves or do something with their hands, let God see something to bless.

The bible says our works shall tested with fire. what happen to the unproductive servant? HELL.

Matt 25:30
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness : there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Let us not end up like the unproductive servant, preach the gospel today.

So many Christians are not involved with Evangelism. Some believe it's for preachers only or some speciall people who are called into it I want to to go back a little and discuss it's importance .

Nobody has said it is wrong to build churches or places of worship, however the church should get it's priorities right and do the will of God.

Now you're talking. The topic is wrong. He shouldn't call the building of worship place foolish God said he takes pleasure in it. He should rather talk about building people which is a beautiful thing. You don't condemn one for the other. That has been my point . 

God does not live in man made edifices neither can human hands or money satisfy his needs, God would rather we use all these money being wasted to build useless monuments be used to take care of the least of his brethen. Jesus Christ said that if we love him we would obey his commandents, the question is why would churches that claim to love Christ neglect his commandments to takecare of the poor and needy or at best pay lip service to it and rather priotize building monuments that the author of our faith NEVER asked for?

Ofcourse,God does not dwell in temples made by man. It is not a new testament revelation. It was quoted from the Old Testament.God made the statement to David. The house of God is not where God stay but it is the place where people meet to have fellowship with him. Even though he doesn't dwell in buildings , he takes pleasure in the building and he is happy with . The glory of God came down when the temple was dedicated.

 2 Chronicles 5:14
14 . . . the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.

When the temple was neglected God instructed they should build it back so that he could "HAVE PLEASURE IN IT"

Haggai 1:8
8 Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the Lord.

 We ought to treat such with reverence . It is wrong to feel anything done in honour to God is a waste just because of the poor, it is satans language . That's what Judas does. We should remember how he Got angry that a woman poured expensive perfume on Jesus , he called it a waste , that it should have been sold and the money given to the poor. 

John 12:5-7
5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? 6* This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein. 7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone! . . .

To be a critic is a spirit. And it's a wrong spirit. Critics don't make positive impact. They do nothing and are always busy attacking someone that is at least doing something. 

The point is, whoever is touched by a matter, should take responsibility in solving it. If you are concerned about the poor, your duty is not to be advocating for the poor but rather take up the responsibility of reaching out to the poor personally. It is said that the things that gives you concern are signs of what your purpose is. You don't need to talk too much. Take up responsibility. Let your work speak for you. Let people see whist you are doing for the poor. Then. Many will emulate you. I care for the poor , I minister to them. I Recently orgsnised a feeding of about 1,000 food packs for less priviledge children. Gave them clothes and Led them to christ because I got born again 9 years old also.  Apart from the one I gave scholarships.  I don't don't have to condemn what others are doing . Action,  they say speaks louder than voice.  

Jesus told judas to shut up, he said , the poor will always be there, we don't stop one good work for the other.

I will like to ask a question here:
How dod you do when you meet someone who has so much to say, asking so many questions. E.g why would a good God send people to he'll, why are there hypocrites in the church? Why is there wickedness in the world and on and on?. How do you respond to such a person?

I find it hard to believe that bike man was following you with smiles on his face prior to being paid the money that you owed him and were due to pay him after he fulfilled his side of the bargain by taking you to your destination.  I can believe that he followed you to the church, after all you still owed him money.  But I kinda see him gripping you by the waist belt rather than smiling all over his face.

That shouldn't be hard to believe. I know two people who recently preached to a bike rider after they  droped them off. The two bike riders refused to collect money because of the overflowing joy after recieve Jesus christ into their hearts.

I appreciate every response so far. But pls I don't intend it to be so personal that we have to mention church names. I appreciate if we teach from Gods word, we can give personal experiences to buttress our poInts but let's avoid naming churches, I will appreciate if the posters can modify the posts made . I want the thread to be more of teaching on soul winning . Thanks

is the issue that churches should not be built or just churches should be built but they should be small

If it's building ; Jesus ministered to a centurion because he built a place for worship.
If it's size ;     No scriptural reference to that effect . The temple was big and magnificient. God is not against large crowd. Jesus once gathered over 5,000 people at once. And he wants us to do greater than he did.

I think the  problem is the fact that religious people use there head to reason out about life rather than the Word of God.

I hope RCCG, CEC,Winners chapel and members of all other churches who are lead to believe growing their church numbers, building edifices and promoting their church brand is spreading the gospel of christ have read and benefitted from this write up. The bible makes it clear that God does not live in man made temples neither can human hands or money satistfy his needs. To have a critical spirit is a decease . The person will always see life from that critic spirit angle. Just like Judas. He even criticise Jesus for being wasteful by accepting expensive perfume from nuclear girl.

The early church was not perfect. It's wasnt yet an institutionalise structure. It's a church that was still undergoing changes . Why would people that were hiding from authorities put up buildings and signboards! . They met in different places. Private halls , home halls, school halls etc. Paul once hired a school hall for the teaching of Gods word.

Acts 19:9
9 But some of them became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way. So Paul left them. He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall [/b]of Tyrannus.

He had hid himself from dangers and authorities, but when he had opportunity, he settles down .Finally he rented a house and use the hall for meetings.

30 For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him. 31 Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.

Some people never rest from childish posts . What is the issue with buildings . Well I'm waiting for frosbel to come and explain to me where he wants the church to meet. Under the tree or under the sun.

Romans 12:2
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what[ is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 

From the opening scripture, you will notice the three phases of Gods will. 
The perfect will is where God wants us to function. It has to do with his plan for our lives
The acceptable will, has to do with someone who has missed the perfect will, but God still allowed him to function in a plan "B" what he is stuck with is still manageable and acceptable but not the perfect will.
The good will is the general class, it's good thing though, but not Gods plan for the man. E,g  A man who is busy helping a neighbour to clean his house on Sunday morning ,when he ought to be in church is certainly doing a good thing by helping a neighbour but that is not Gods will for him at that time. Many Christian function in the good will. They do things that seem nice but never bother to know Gods plan for them.

Do you know it was not Gods perfect will for Israel to have a king?  The system was supposed to be a Theocratic system where God is king over them. 

1 Samuel 8:5-8
5 And said unto him. . .  now make us a king to judge us like all the nations. 6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the Lord. 7 And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them. 8 According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day.

 Even though israel had some great  Kings like David, it is evident that that wasn't God perfect plan for them.
 
We are responsible for our lives , to ensure that we function in the Perffect will of God for our lives. There is a right person to  marry and there is a wrong person to marry, some people may never fulfil Gods purpose for their lives just because of who they have married, 

One of the signs of Christian maturity is your ability to desire to know his perfect plan for us and to walk in it. To be a son is not just by being born again, sonship refers to maturity. It means ;To come of age. Every Christian is not a son. You are born a baby Christian. You grow into sonship.

Romans 8:14
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 

That is why every Christian needs to recieve the holyghost.  Let him be lord over your choices and decisions . Do just do something because they are good, don't just do things because they look acceptable, find Gods perfect plan. In choices of school, job,partner, business. He has a say in our lives, that's the mark of his lordship. Everywhere is not the right place.

Paul on several occasion almost fell into the trap . It was a good thing to preach the gospel but, there is a place to be at a right  time. Several times God had to stop him even from preaching! Because the p,ace he chose was not the right place at that time  

 Acts 16:6-7
6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia, 7 After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not. 

That doesn't mean that God didn't want them to go to Asia, but it's wasn't time yet, Because God later told him to go to Asia, several months later and mighty miracles took place. 

When you see Christian die anyhow, it's connected to missing Gods plan. God may not protect a man outside his will , but a man that us functioning in purpose, can not be defeated.

For a man to know Gods will, he must constantly have his mind renewed by Gods word, in constant fellowship. If not He will be fluctuating in darkness.
 
There are mistakes that God give second chance, but there are some that are never reversible. It was not Gods pan for Aaron to be an interpreter for Moses, Ishmael was not in Gods perfect plan for Abraham, Joshua was not in the perfect plan, it wasn't Gods perfect plan for Moses to die in the wilderness . Life is full of choices and descision . That's why you must be filled with the spirit and listen to the inner voice.

We are responsible for our lives. The will of God may not come to pass , if Nan doesn't do his part.

what an irony, the guy who's life is full of immoral thoughts and speeches Is talking about holiness !.

Was God mad at Solomon for building him the most magnificent temple of worship.

God had to mandate the Israel to have regular contribution to maintain the beauty of the temple. When the house of God was in ruins , they suffered because of the neglect of the hoouse of God.

Haggai 1:6-9
6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages[ to put it] into a bag with holes. 7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways. 8[b] Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the Lord[/b]. 9 Ye looked for much, and, lo,[ it came] to little; and when ye brought[ it] home, I did blow upon it. Was God mad that they built synagogues for worshipping him? Jesus even had to minister to a gentile man contrary to his desire, just because the man won his Favour on the ground that he build a house for the worship of God.

Luke 7:3-7
3 And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant. 4 And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this: 5 For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue. 6Then Jesus went with them. . . .

There is difference between the church and The church building . One doesn't get in the way of the other. Christ builds the two!

Satan never rest to attack churches in different dimension. It's one of the signs of the last day. So where do you want people to worship?

Yes! The Apostles were born again. To be Born Again means to have Eternal Life. When Jesus was on the Earth, Eternal Life came by just Believing in the Son of God. Jn 3:16 Says “ For God So love the world that He gave His only Begotten Son that whosoever Believe in Him should not perish but have Everlasting life. As at that time all the Apostles believe in Jesus and that guaranteed them to be Born Again.

If you have flight ticket and the plane hasn't arrived, you haven't flown. Some believed Jesus but the way of salvation wasn't opened yet. Nobody can be born again until man sin is atoned for, the lamb has not be slain. The life is in christ, he has to die as a seed and resurrect to give life to all. To be born again is the partaking of the new life. No man experience "born again " until he rose from the dead.

If man could be born again,without Jesus shedding his blood, of what need is his blood?

Critics don't understand such language . It is a spirit.

My brother  I had received the holyghost but I needed to turn on the power . My shyness was extra ordinary. The holygost needed extra work on me . If I tell you my story.

I heard of how pastor chris started ministering from village to village to prach and heal the sick in the 80s. So some of us about 5 got together to do village evangelism .  We went to one edo state village after the zoo down down. We preach we gave them food stuff. We now wanted to do miracle. . . We saw a sick man lying down . . Kai! . . . Infact. . ,  Let me leave it,  . .

God is wonderful , I had to get full of the holyghost. I started preaching one on one gradually but I couldn't preach to two or three and more  , "Agoraphobia" they call it. When I enter a taxi it was a torment. I will hear God say "preach" my heart will start pumping . . . . .ooooo. I would beg God. Pleeeease I want to do it. But they are making noise , they won't listen. But I knew deep inside , I was shy. So I tried to cover it up with an excuse . I even told Gid once , "if you want me to preach in this taxi, open my mouth and do it!. I waited but nothing happened . I got frustrated .

I began to learn more about the holyspirit . Read Benny hinn book "Good Morning Holyspirit" and some teaching in church. I began to develop a relationship with the holyspirit. Worshipping , speaking in tongues etc. I got charged up. I knew that receiving the holyspirit is one thing ,it's a one time experience but being filled with the spirit should be regular , so I got full of the spirit after a long session of worship and speaking in tongues in my room . I knew I was ready. I went to the park , and entered a taxi. I first led every body in prayers and they obeyed . Before they recovered from the prayer, I slam  them the word of God. That's how Agoraphobia left me. I preached in taxi buses and did couple of interior village preachings.

In my church, when people come for d first time, i happen to be among d people that go to visit them.
During d process of trying to locate their homes, i meet some non christians and in a bid to trace d address i end up talking to them about Jesus and they give their lives to Him

Are you saying everyone you preach to gives his heart to christ? I don't want to doubt you o, but it sounds . . , well answer first. For me I met opposition, arguments, especially when I encounter all these free thinkers and people of other faiths. Muslim scholars , etc . I had to buy one book titled "Every Wind of Doctines" it helped me a lot to know about world religions and cults . So ,I had foundational knowledge of their belief and through that knock them out with the word of God.

8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;  

There is a difference between being ashamed of christ and shyness . I had problem with shyness as a growing Christian. I wanted to preach to others , I knew it was Gis will but I just couldn't face strangers.but that didn't mean I was ashamed of the gospel o.

You know I have a special way of witnessing to people. I do it through helps. Sometimes I just drive out and give a ride to people . Just one at a time ,sometimes more than one if they are together, a family or a couple by the road side. I initiate a discussion and gradually navigate into the word of God. And BAM! I slam the hammer!. A soul is won to God. Sometimes some of them will be telling me their problems . It amazing.

Let me share my experience with nairalanders
During our monthly communion with Pst Chris, he declared the month of February as a month of soul winning.
And as at this morning i had not won any soul, i told myself no, got up early, got dressed and headed for the road,just to talk to people about Jesus
As i approached the road, i wondered to myself if i could make it as the road was deserted
Immediately, i saw a man approaching me, i greeted him , got into a conversation with him and like play like play won him over to Christ
Immediately somebody highlighted from a bike beside me, i did the same talking to him and got him converted, another bike man was just there watching and i got him saved too.
What an experience, under 30mins i won 3 souls and the joy of it too

The topics that he posts are still subtle forms of the prosperity gospel. It is true that we can view some of them positively as "encouragement"; it is also true that there is some biblical truth to parts of some of them. However, the tactics of the prosperity preachers is to say things that will draw the customer in: "your dreams will always mean good even if they are scary" (whereas in truth some dreams could be warnings or even preparations for things to come); the tactic is to say nice, soothing and "encouraging" things. That is all well and good --- except it needs to be balanced with biblical truths and reality --- and especially that the Christian journey is a tough and challenging journey. That Jesus Christ has assured of the ending does not diminish the difficulties on the road ---- whereas, ultimately, the subbtle message of the topics being posted is to diminish the reality of the difficulties of the journey in order to help sustain the sweet falsehood of the prosperity "gospel".

Check all the topics in recent times - possibly even since he started posting them - they are all basically "feel good" messages. Yes, "feel good" is part of Christianity (especially 'joy') but not "feel good" with the same agenda as the prosperity "gospel".

Wrong! My personal posts since January has been about personal salvation then,Prayer and intercession then I moved to  "The great commission" which is soul winning . Every Christian need to wake up to that responsibility . Others have been teachings of pastor chris which is random e.g  About your place in christ , your authority , inheritance ,holy spirit etc

One should rather use ones  time productively to tell the untold about the love of Jesus than argue endlessly with  siting docks.The man of God  Pastor chris has declared this month a month of soul winning. How have you guys gone in reaching others with the gospel?

I think Joagbaje has been well exposed in this thread, hence his cowardly initial running away and current wriggling to avoid the critical issues. Better leave him to his folly and pray to God that one day he will be delivered from his slavery to his belly which has turned him into a deceiver and which is making him so cowardly to face biblical truths ---- prefering instead to choose the Rhapsody of erRoRs and WoF doctrine above the Bible.
