So when Jesus placed back the cut-off ear of that soldier, was that healing or what?
Jesus had the cut off skin to heal back. Several people have done similar miracles.I've even placed back my own cut skin and it healed after few days! Does your amputees have the missing parts? for a missing amputee bone to be replaced ,that's not healing , it's a creative miracle. And it's posible if we have faith.

You don't have to give attention to every idle words. Satan loves attention.
Proverbs 26:4
4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

Proverbs 26:4 (amplified)
4- When arguing with a rebel, don't use foolish arguments as he does, or you will become as foolish as he is! Prick his conceit with silly replies!

Jesus has declared that out of the abundance of he heart , the mouth speaketh. The whole world is really seeing who is the christian and who is not , by all the filthy talks

Christianity EtcPastor Chris Oyakhilome :eternal Life – God’s Gift To Us! by Joagbaje(op): 2:58pm On Dec 29, 2010
1 John 5:11
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son

Eternal life is not a promise from God that we look forward to Him fulfilling in our lives when we get to heaven. It’s His gift to us NOW:
“…the gift of God is eternal life” (Romans 6:23).
Eternal life has been freely given to everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ:

John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”

This is what we celebrate at Christmas time: that God has given to us eternal life, a life greater than sickness, disease, failure and death; a life that makes us superior to satan. That life is what Jesus brought to the world.

When the angels rejoiced and heralded the birth of the saviour, they were celebrating and publicizing the glorious news that humanity can now receive the divine life, and live as champions on earth:

Luke 2:9-11
“And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord”

Jesus came that we might have life to the full (John 10:10). That’s why He was born. The glorious and victorious life in its fullest is what He brought, and if you believe in Him, that’s what you’ve received into your spirit. This ought to be your joy this season, that having received Christ, you now have eternal life – the miracle life – that cannot be defiled or corrupted by sickness, disease, defeat, death, or the devil.

You may not feel it in your body that you’ve received eternal life, but it’s in your spirit nonetheless. You don’t have to “feel” it in your body first to know that you have eternal life. That’s why the Apostle John, writing to the Church, said, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…” (1 John 5:13).

Confession
I have the life of God in me; it’s the superior life of glory, success and victory. I thank you Lord today for making it possible for me to receive this glorious, wondrous life into my spirit, thus making me superhuman. Praise God.

Further Study
1 John 5:11-12 MSG
This is the testimony in essence: God gave us eternal life; the life is in his Son. So, whoever has the Son, has life; whoever rejects the Son, rejects life.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Fellow soulwinner,How do you follow-up new convert? Am new in evangelism and made good at it by the Lord's spirit and grace upon it.i glory and my soul boast in God.What your follow-up plans and strategy? Enligthen me more in the great comission field. Teach me the WHAT'S and HOW'S? Thanks.
There is a powerful small book I had in the early 90s which was of great benefit to me then. "ABC Of Follow up" I will try remember the author .
The outline of the book is according to the alphabeth like music keys. ABCDEFG

A - Assurance of Salavation: teaching the convert to understand salvation, righteousness, justification  Etc.
B - Bible intake .    Teaching him on the Importance of feeding on the word for growth, and christian character
C -Communion        Importance of prayer and teaching the person how to commune with God
D - Dependence On God Teaching the person on faith and trust in God and his word.
E - I forgot what stands for.
F - Fellowship
The importance of attending church services.
G - Going forth: teaching the new convert the importance of evangelism and how to reach out to others.

Well that's the much I could remember from that book . Each stage cam be handled weekly. There's is a personal follow up but I recommend making the perdon join your church and since most churches have a programme of classes for new convert , it will be better. But you still do visitation on the perdon and send helpful Christian materials tí him.

Again you name "nuclearboy" - And I did tell you not to make me your idol, didn't I? I don't like it.

Long before NL existed, I acknowledged I was a sinner, acknowledged the saving Grace and sacrifice of the Lord Jesus and asked that He be captain of my life. I ALSO DECIDED THAT TRUTH would be my way, no matter whose Ox was gored or what it costs me.

I realised that the Apostles of Christ and EVERY SINGLE EXAMPLE of a Christian in the Word of God did not financially profit from the Gospel and in fact lost their livelihoods, friends and in many cases, their lives for the Gospel. I made SUCH CHRISTIANS my mentors - people who gave for God, not took from others using His Name as an excuse.

Interestingly, though you matter little, my 1st paragraph above fulfills your conditions. So why not take your own advice and stop condemning another's servant. My master is able to handle me

^^^ I don't dislike your face; I hate your false doctrine and poison and the arrogant manner in which you keep spreading it;
Why don't you think that the so called poison could be truth. Why don't you think you could be wrong. If there is a false doctrine , you should prove it false by the light of  truth.  But rather it is SO so attack and abuse , opaks , oyaks . And we don't get anywhere. When you prove my claim wrong in a thread , I checked the bible and admitted you were right. That is discussion. Even though i still manage endured some yabis. On that thread.

I also find your boy boy licking of Oyakhilome's arse to be pathetic.
Far from it. It's only because he teaches truth , and I believe in them. Several people and ministers from all over the world are being blessed by his teachings. I can only defend what I find as truth in the bible. And it's not everything I post here that reflect CEC Teaching . I share my convictions.

I regard early christianity as dead, because the circumstances and cultural setting in which it operated is extinct. The concepts of jesus and god's relationship, heaven and hell, charity, communality were determined by the contexts of foreign religions and cultures.
Do you believe in the bible that it contains The word of God.

hunger and conflict pave way for prosperity gospel with its stark contrast with early christianity.
The Gospel is about prosperity . This goes beyond money. It is an alround prosperity. A life of dominion.

to have a job as a soldier who goes on assignment to fight wars and also guard areas against criminal and rebel forces, which might also give rise to gun shots and killings, so it a sin then to become a soldier?
No it's not a sin. A soldier is only doing a duty.  Some are called into that kind of job anyway and some are not. You should only avoid what violate your conscience.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Deceive Yourselves, No Nigerian Can Go To Heaven by Joagbaje(m): 8:05pm On Dec 27, 2010
johndoe200:
Yes, being a Nigerian I am involved. We need to salvage our country and this fake, hypocritical behavior is part of our problem. It stops us from seeing ourselves clearly. Maybe we as Nigerians were never meant to be Christians.
I agree with you that our mentality has to change as a nation. The word of God is the change agent. Everyone may not be perfect . But changes are taking place. Do we still kill twins?

Do you need anyone to tell you that:
1. There is a large and growing number number of so called Christians in this country?
2. That despite the number of Christains, nothing has changed?

The point I am trying to make is that Christians in Nigeria are fake. They are Nigerians and they can't fight against their nature. To be nice, really care about people you meet (who you don't know) and most other Christ like things goes against our nature.
So why are we pretending? Why not be ourselves?
You unfortunately met few bad experience.  I was driving home one night 11pm, and I saw a woman with 3kids by the road side. The road was dark and empty ,i felt led to give them a ride but they seemed to be going the opposite direction. So I drove home and concluded they would sort themelves out. probably a bus would come by or something. But I couldn't sleep, "they must have gone by now" I said to myself. But I later I picked my keys just to satisfy my conscience that "I tried". But When I got there ,They were still there!. She said Her husband  a policeman had run away with another woman, house rent expired, the batcher she constructed to stay and fry akara or so was demolished by one commissioners wife that evening . She was looking for a relative to pass the night with. I gave them a ride. Invited them to church ,she got born again ,got them a house and Put Her children back in school. Few months later she stop coming to church, I forgot about her actually. Until the eldest girl came running one day,and said the mother was seriously sick. We rushed her to hospital , and prayed also for her. She died. The chidren are staying with me now and having the best of education. The eldest boy if 12 years has started preaching the gospel to adults! His teacher came to see me recently to thank me ,that the change in the boys life is so dramatic. He has stop fighting in school .he disturbs everybody with preaching now. These are just little out of the many things God is using his children to do.

There are thousands doing thesame thing. Christianity in nigeria is as effective as in the bible days. And God is raising many mighty people to touch lives of others. Don't condemn the church because of the activities of few. There are many more like me . Who even do much more and when I hear their testimonies, I get more inspired .

Christianity EtcRe: Why Deceive Yourselves, No Nigerian Can Go To Heaven by Joagbaje(m): 7:05pm On Dec 27, 2010
@johndoe
johndoe200:
First let me say that, I have looked carefully at the Christian religion and come to the conclusion that if what is written in the bible is true, none of us Nigerians can go to heaven,

Why is this the state of affairs? Because the basic ethics of Christianity are alien to our nature as Nigerians. We, by our nature are Hostile Brutish people. The worst of us are the born again Christians. Why do I single them out? Because they they are the greatest pretenders. Underneath the false facade of ALL born again Nigerians is the true Nigerian character barely concealed. I have spent a great deal of time with and around so called born again people and have never been disappointed given enough time, out pops the true person. Sometimes you don't even have to wait.

I am doing a small transaction with a guy who works for a large organization, he has all the born again props - his ring tone is a quote from the bible, his office has the usual "christian quotes and pledges". We chatted about his faith for a while then got down to how he was trying to cheat me. His response? He is only doing his job "in the manner his employers like it".
As I have refused to be cheated, he is not happy with me, or to put it in his words, "don't I understand". Yes I do, both himself and his employers are morally bankrupt.

I once worked in a company, spread throughout the head office and branches of this company we had 13 born again pastors. The Redeemed church had the largest number. In my life I have never met people who were more conceited and who had as much milk of human kindness as a desert stone.
These were some of the most heartless people I have ever met.
We only heard your side, we will know what to say when we heard theirs ! grin

The question I have is this - WHY BOTHER? Is the need to pretend so great? Do we think we are deceiving GOD? why not just accept what we are? God made Lions and Tigers, he doesn't expect them to become doves.
People what do you think, can you be honest? Let us stop deceiving ourselves.
.

The fact that some may misbehave should not make you generalize and connect whatever transaction that goes wrong as a Christian style. I have also discovered that sometimes the people that blame every other person are really the problem in most cases but they never see it. Yours may not be so but don't generalize because of your personal experience with few people. If a real christian offend you, simply report it to his pastor, hos pastor will mandate him to act right or even discipline him. Don't attack the body of christ.
