It's rumor and media.

Partey doesn't want to leave arsenal and Arsenal doesn't want to sell.

Media just using him as transfer scapegoat to force the trio of Rice Odegaard Havertz Midfield down our throat.

It's annoying

Think of it in a reverse order.

You based your rating not on the player's ability but on Chelsea's performance last season.
It is easy to shine if you play for Crystal Palace or Southampton.

Now think of this, the managers that went for those former three are the top three in the league- Pep, Arteta and ETH.
I'm never one to judge players based on one season or joining bandwagon to condemn. If you notice me esp in Chelsea thread, I've been very very critical of Havertz right from his first signing in 2020

Moreover, there's a big reason why all three players were greeted with criticism from their new fans. It's not agenda or bad belle. If you watch those three closely during their Chelsea stay, you'll know why.

Lol, Chelsea will tag their team last season as one of the worst they've ever had. This is a team that recently won the UCL. What's the crazy thing in finishing 2nd and 3rd?

A team can be good in one season and become totally terrible in another. That's what the likes of SAF and Pep are masters in avoiding. They start gradually clearing out players before the become something else(toxic or past it).

The problem is when I say team, you're thinking of individuals. You're wondering how a team that had Pogba, Ronaldo, Rashford, and co is termed the worst in years. But what I mean is the team as a collective. Cuz that's what matters.
The thing is that if as a collective, a good squad suddenly turn worse, then all the fault should rest with the coach.

Aston Villa and Leicester of last season is a very good example. With Gerrard failing, it seems as if the collective of Aston Villa players were very bad. Look at them individually and you'll know they shouldn't be dragging for relegation but they did until Gerard was swiftly sacked and replaced with an elite coach and you can see how they suddenly look a good fit again.

Contrast that to Rodgers who wasn't sacked on time and a team of Madison, iheanacho, ndidi, vardy and co were relegated. No how an elite coach wouldn't have those people to play good football.

So my point is that a collective group who were once good can't suddenly turn bad all at once, if they did, then the coach needs to go Asap

Dribblers still dey but they are now mostly limited by the tactics of the modern game, reason why you see a catenaccio student being heavily linked to be their next coach
I believe even if tactics limits your dribble frequency, there will still be time where one will need it to evade a defender.

Lemme use Brazil for example, see person like Richarlison or Raphinha, you wan tell me say na tactics make them no dey dribble?

Chelsea sold Kovacic, Mount and Havertz only to replace them with Caicedo, Lavia and Olise. I don't see any upgrade. Only Caicedo can match those that left.

...then what now happens, are there no star players in Brazil again? The situation is other teams have measured up to the standard through the modern training facility that is available now, not that they lack star players. Gone are the days when Super Falcon will defeat African opponents 11-0, 8-0, 7-0, why we can't have such a scoreline again, it's just because all other teams have measured up through exposure to modern facilities, not that Super Falcon lack stars players.

They have used tactics to neutralize team creativity and individual creativity. Players now have more stamina and are more tactically responsible but technical ability and natural flair is being ironed out of the game. Even the robotic Germans of the 80s and 90s had Littbarksi, Hassler, Moller and co. If you combine all the dribbling talent in Germany right now it is not up to the talent in only Littbarksi's body.
True @bolded.

And this In turn reduces the flair of the game and in essence also reduces the excitement the game is suppose to have.

And like you said, even flair players are often ditched for hardworking, system players

You see that dribblers, I can count on one hand good frequent effective flair dribblers on one hand in Europe and e no reach 5 grin

1... Firstly, when did we ever look as good as Man City?

2.. Secondly, you're talking as if you're either good or terrible in football. He had a decent team that got worse with players becoming shit and the addition of some characters. The team became something else.
1.. So you didn't see one receipt where Patrick once claimed you guys weren't far behind of Man city? Also, he wasn't the only one who believed so, I remember vividly how that was a topic here with many voices claimed this squad wasn't far behind Man city in terms of talent and that it was just Ole coaching holding them back.

2.. What I'm saying is that a squad who finished 2nd and 3rd in the league can never be termed as the worst squad in recent years. There's a big reason why they once finished in that position(2nd and 3rd). They might have regressed as you said which is valid but you claiming they're the worst squad is just you exaggerating just to make your point weighty.

I mean, let's look at it logically. How possible is it that a clueless coach (Ole) made one of the worst squad in recent years to finish 2nd and 3rd in arguably the most competitive league in the world and also reach the Europa League finals losing out on penalties?

It's two things:

It's either the squad is decent as you claimed and Ole isn't clueless as brandished

Or

The squad is made of good quality and Ole is Clueless.

But what's facts is that both can't be bad

As the money in the game increases, the quality really reduced. Moreover, more teams becoming system-based teams contributes largely to it.

Nelli needs to be called to the Tactic room and shown some clips of Sanchez so he can start doing the LHS kind of goals similar to that. Almost everyone that he faces already anticipate he cutting back to the left foot so they block the right so as to react better to the switch. That's why i like Trossard for such shots. Barely off target.
Chai, Sanchez!! God bless that player.

If only Martinelli go just watch Sanchez and mirror his play cox na him be the closest person to Sanchez. How I wish he can get his.

You see that outside the box Curler/shot Saka scored, that's the thing I'm expecting from Martinelli to be good at. Honestly if they tell me 2yrs ago that Saka will be more proficient than Martinelli in outside the box shots, I would have doubted.

We need Martinelli to be proficient in it too. It's another good way of scoring goals against teams that park the bus especially as we'll be encountering them more this season

I get your point.

The formation was not the problem but the distraction and the lack of speed to make up for lost possession. The moment NF brought in Elanga, that was the time for Arteta to have made adjustments. There was no need to continue to pin NF with 2-0 up.

Again, if Tomiyasu/Timber was where White was Elanga would not have ran all that distance without being caught up. At least to drag him wide instead of allowing him cut inside.

No matter the team, if you place men in the defensive third and outnumber them, they will always succumb. Then after getting the first goal, you allow them to come out and concede more. The only thing that is required is to not lose the possession. That would be almost suicidal. But even if you lose possession make sure you have sprinters as defenders. This will make whoever is countering to have a lot of distance to cover to get to goal.

I believe
Hmmm...
While I understand you, I would love to see how it unfolds sha.

Fingers crossed
