Where was Smalling when Osimhen missed an earlier effort? Close marking Victor or left for dead? Tammy, on the hand, has been very miserable all season. Today, again I can say we don’t miss Oghenetega. komekn: Smalling for 90 minutes had him more or less caged till he stumbled and VO got him wrong sided and scored a top class goal from a near impossible angle. |

Dem dey use MRI verify U23? PROVERBZ: Guys MRI machine is not very accurate. I just saw someone I know from secondary school. he was a senior. he was like one class ahead of me and he probably is like a year or 2 years older than me. I am currently 23 years old which means I do not qualify for the under-23 selection but I have seen him dressed in the Nigerian kits and is currently with the team. |

I beg make u recommend better players for the U23 coach not the ones when dey warm bench steady komekn: There is NOTHING to say.
We all know that age falsification is endemic in every area of life in Nigeria.
If a person realises that by shaving off 3/4/5 ,etc years of his age, will be the difference between staying in Nigeria in abject poverty with zero prospects in life. Or going to Europe playing football with a crazy money and great prospects.
What will 99.9% of people do , particularly as there is no means of proving that he is telling lies.
So why are we all pretending that nobody age cheats in Nigeria. |

Yesterday they drew 1-1 with 3SC @ Ibadan in a friendly. 3SC scored first in the 2nd half and they equalized via penalty. Not sure this team is ready to face Tanzania. Hope we are not disgraced this weekend. Even the foreign based are unknown and play in lower leagues or 2nd/3rd divisions. Why were the Ladan Bosso u20 boys not selected for this game? Only Nathaniel Nwosu is u20 GK, John Amah was once an u17 GK two or three years ago. Success Makanjuola played last year for the u20s. |

And how many goals did he get before the injury? komekn: It's not tenable, he had already been played for an inconsequential 5 years across Europe.
Ends up in the Segundo division and does very well, is it because the league is poor and he has found relevance in this poor quality league. Or is there true progression, l really don't know.
He is in the much better La Liga, a much better test of his supposed ability, only time will tell.
Unfortunately, he is injured it's an ACL horrific injury pray he gets well soonest . |

For two good seasons you were MIA when Sadiq was a Lion in the lower league oh. komekn: Oniovo
Before you begin to scrutinize , appraise and assess players, there has to be some benchmark, of quality capacity and ability anchored on comparison analysis.
There are always exceptions and room must be made for them. Thats why I rely on my long standing proposition; "Better a Lion in a low level league and club than a mouse in a top level club and league"
The premier League is the best and most competitive league in the world. And so somebody doing averagely will most likely be a lot better than someone in low level league doing above average.
Even my proposition must be taken with restraint, you could be the number one outstanding Midfielder in the NPFL but the standard could be so low that even an anonymous mouse could be considerably better than you a Lion in the NPFL.
Comparison analysis the quality of league and club comes into the question.
The background to our current trajectory is Nwakali and the low quality and competitiveness of the Segundo.
I've said this before and I will say it again without apology . In general the money you have will determine to a large extent the players you will get
The Segundo division has a about 5 clubs at the top end who have some degree of quality and the rest below that from low to very poor. A league where the Villa Real B team ( academy Youth team) is above mid table.
None of the EPL L2 ( U23 youth teams) can compete in the Championship and will not be able contend competitively in League one.
That says the league is poor quality. Nwakali has been generally poor throughout his professional career. He is doing averagely well in this poor quality league. Is this a sign of improvement ❓or rather hss hr found his mediocre level.
Consider that Joe Aribo went from league one to the SE and had been outstanding since. He is now in the EPL and doing well above average.
If we can consider Nwakali as good quality for the SE, we have lowered the benchmark. What then about the hundreds of Nigerian players across Europe in far better Leagues and clubs.
Indeed the players in a lot of EPL academies are therefore by comparison good enough to be considered for the SE |

That’s the kind of versatility we need. We have forwards. It’s a plus if some can function as wingers. We shouldn’t be calling up to 4 natural wingers to the national team. He is one of the few that has the hunger. What is limiting most of our players is that it doesn’t seem they challenge themselves to be better than yesterday. Nwakali is a case in point. He is trying to prove a point to his past employer and now we are seeing the beast in him. Really, he should aim for the top and continue to challenge himself. This is one thing Stephen Keshi understood about our players which is one reason he didn’t believe in picking players solely on the quality of the league they played. He wanted hungry players in the mix. I think we need to consider top players irrespective of the league they play. No player should think their position is assured by virtue of being a player of certain club. Our pool of players in midfield is not scanty as we think. We need to open it up more to push the links of Bonke and Onyeka to keep fighting or be left behind. . andrewbaba44: I hope osimhen becomes benzema replacement at Madrid or Lewandowski replacement at Bayern soon . |

A la Liga team will definitely be on his trails if he stays consistent. That’s a no brainer. komekn: Nwakali is playing for a very poor level near Financially bankrupt team relying on loan moves and free agents.
The statement in bold is highly assumptive.
If Nwakali is doing exceptionally well and way above this poor quality level. Come January a La Liga team will come in for him or even a Bundisliga, Seria A , maybe even Championship team .
If he is not, he will remain there no amount of padding and Super delusional hype will get him out. In reality if they can survive the league they would have done well.
When your in a poor club , surrounded by poor players in a poor league. The reason you are there is you also are POOR. So when you're performing averagely within such mediocrity it's not progression.
Look at weekly wage bill Ponferradina FC in this division and that in itself tells you a story of the level of players. |
