I have listened keenly to you. At least your opinions change on players. That's pretty objective to me. Some people's opinion of a player will never change even though it's very obvious the player is in oblivion However, I will still say to you today, you are sentimental towards English football . komekn: First of all l am not filled with " bitter leaf soup " like you.
After some time of being on this thread your words begin to reveal aspect of your true character and your nature.
I am almost certain that everyone apart from you HERE will testify, that l will NEVER EVER use that kind of gutter language to describe anybody. Once again you have exposed yourself with BLATANT LIES.
Football is a dynamic sport with constant change for the better or even worse, it's dynamic.
My comments which were years ago are always with the proviso of AT THAT TIME.
I rate, assess players on the HERE and NOW not the futuristic projection of possible quality. No club buys that, and when we do that projection must be prevalenty clear and obvious with some level of measurement of quality and or ability.
Years ago l said Fikayo Tomori and Tosin Adarabioyo were not good enough for the SE. I even rated Dominic Iorfa ahead, well within two seasons these players have left him behind. One has an England cap and the other could easily be playing for City soon or sold to a number of EPL clubs.
Three years ago Eberechi Eze and Josh Maja did not justify inclusion to the SE it was unfair. In comparison to Tega Onomah, Oviemuno Ejaria, Chuks Aneke, Fred Onyedinma and even Ademola Lookman.
But fast forward today and Tega is behind Eze and Ovie. And Onyedinma is not progressing enough to be considered for the SE in my opinion. Chuks is becoming injury prone and cannot compete seemingly.
When a person is in darkness they cannot see light, and everything they see is perceived with bitter, rancourous, hostility and seen to be negative.
Every TING na fight 4U.
That is you. |

quote me then and let's match that with his performance in Serie A then. That we had expectations that he would translate that to SE is not a hype. So who said he was the meastro of SE or however u put it? Danielnino00: That's what they said..
Now that I remember it, you were part of those who hyped him...
We needed some balance in midfield back then and Joel Obi was courted by many as the man fit for the job... |

finito chrisooblog: injuries really affected Joel obi. during siasia's first stint as SE coach he was probably our best midfielder even outshining Mikel. his recall to the SE before the world cup wasn't out of place like you rightly noted he was unable to transfer his purple patch with his club to the national team |

hype is when you exaggerate a player's performance or abilities. Joel Obi was not hyped. He simply failed to translate what he did at club level to SE. Danielnino00: Hyped in this context refers to players who were hyped before getting to play for the SE but eventually disappoint..
Nwakali and Azubuike haven't played much for the SE to fall into that category... |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 3:14pm On Jun 27, 2020 |
Joel Obi was putting up good performances and made one or two Serie A Best XI of the week prior to his recall to SE. But dude never translated that to SE. Joel Obi back then, in his previous stint with SE was on a different level. Seems he never got back to hitting that form. komekn: Joel Obi was coming back from injury after some time out.
He never regained form again, not all players can get back to previous form after injury. It happened to Sturridge and l am now quite concerned for our once very promising RB Ebuehi.
I watched Joel and felt that he had lost form badly. |

My boss, who never cared to wear a mask don wake up. komekn: A few months ago, February l was in London for a meeting. Had to go on the tube, at that stage it was before lockdown and people were jam packed like sardines. At this stage l was already wearing face mask nobody else was on the tube.
I spoke about it here that l predicted deaths would reach 30k. Well that figure has been well exceeded with 65k it could be more.
We are easing lockdown for economic reasons not health and wellbeing.
I truly believe God has been merciful to Nigeria our capacity to test is very limited we really don't know how many people have been infected, recovered unknowingly and died. |

Next season will get even more interesting. I would like to pitch my tent with the Blues, but no Nigerian international there. safarigirl: While I congratulate Liverpool and their fans for a long awaited title, I would like to give a special shout out to Chelsea. They played their hearts out tonight and gave us a game deserving of a live audience.
That was one of the best matches this season, and it is unimaginable what could happen, with the injection of Ziyech and Werner to that team next season. |

balanced. Philosopher1979: Komekn you are right. English football is progressing and they may win the world cup in the next 15 year. I did my personal research and saw that they are not playing kick and follow all the time. Their academies now encourage creativity. I will mention 2 points.
1. English premier league has money and so they can even buy ideas and knowledge. They imported technical tiki taka football with Guardiola, Gen gen pressing with Jurgen Klopp, Italian defensive football with Maurinho even sarri ball with Sarri while at chelsea. The problem is the cosmopolitan nature of the premier league and their ability to imbibe new ideas has made English football and the premier league more powerful. Indeed it is more powerful than maybe even 10 years ago.
2. By blending the natural pace and power of an English footballer with the technical and tactical efficiency of the italians, spanish etc, they are creating a new breed of English footballers. the 3 qualities of a player are technique and skill, tactical awarness (what is called decision making) and physical ability (eg speed, strength, stamina etc). The issue is English footballers are trying to create players who have all 3 at the same time. This is highly commendable.
3. However, you worship English football too much. They got all these improvements from foreign coaches and players BUT at least they have adopted it and maybe they are improving on it. |
