Somebody’s days are numbered. Tell that beret-wearing scarecrow. TheSuperNerd: NFF President, Pinnick with Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote; Oil magnate, Femi Otedola and FIFA president, Infantino at the FIFA "The Best" awards ceremony...
Pinnick says he would be having a discussion with Dangote in a matter of days as regards a possible partnership for Nigerian football.
He also said he lured both rich moguls to see how FIFA rates Nigeria in the eyes of the International community and to witness first hand the international standards of how things are done within football at that level. Talk of trying to show the men that Nigeria is firmly in FIFA's good graces... Lol
Well, time will reveal where all this goes... |

Most of our local coaches are pretenders. Until we have good pitches everywhere in Nigeria, we will know who is who. Many of them get by, by getting cheap wins at home and struggling for a point away. You people will be setting standards as if Imama and Yusuf have really done great things. darkelf: Yes I saw those words but still, its too early to start considering him, even for the future.
What if Enyimba gets thoroughly beaten in the next round by Raja (like both home and away)
What if (in addition), Enyimba gets relegated this season under him?
Lets first see how he handles them for 3 yrs plus. Then (maybe in 2023), we can start considering him for assistant coach in 2026. |

You mean we need to get Caleb to play for us (SE) Icon4s: Agreed 100%
Enyimba's last two games on that New pitch is a complete testament that some of these Nigerian clubs can actually play good entertaining football if they have good pitches. Now you can see how you are willing to travel all the way down to watch their next game. That is it. Play good football and you will see fans trooping in.
The WestHam vs Chelsea game was running almost concurrently with the Enyimab vs Rayon game but I preferred to watch the Enyimba game. Let these clubs start playing good football and people will be willing to watch them on TV.
If I am in the Port Harcourt area the weekend Enyimba will play Raja Casablanca be sure I will make the trip down to Aba.
I am really happy that ''His execellency'' was there at the stadium yesterday. Refurbishing the stadium is a testament of his desire to take Enyimba back to its Glory days. Enyimba used to have foreign nationals in their team. Caleb, the Rayon Sport striker that scored their only goal IMO is better than our own striker Sunday Adetunji. We need to get that guy. |

Oh yea we have to aggressive yet professional in recruiting. komekn: Is that not the problem of contradiction we have in the NFF when players who have done nothing are invited to the SE.
It seems if you have someone to advocate for you then you are invited and tagged. SPECAIL TALENT, when u have done nothing.
When I talk to Ovie he was interested in Nigeria but didn't feel it was his place to be making commitment online in the Media.
Add to that you are playing for England U21 then you are saying you want to play for Nigeria. That's very stupid and Nigeria have not made any commitment to you.
As they say a bird in hand - - - -
Otherwise you could be biting the hands that feed you in England cause yourself bad publicity get tagged in the negative and loose credibility.
Now Tega Onomah, Seyi, Ademola, etc can openly in the media talk about Nigeria because they have outgrown the U21in England without courting controversy and creating bad publicity by change of allegiance.
Exactly the same thing Dominic Iorfa has done.
It's like saying u get job, before the other job come u go talk for public say u wan comot, find level 4 another place, no be foolishness be dat
Or how u see am bros❓
But before this time the NFF should have already have some form of relationship with them. |

Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has declared his international future.
Guendouzi is a target for Morocco coach Herve Renard, however he insists he wants to play for France.
He told L'Equipe: "I always played in France's youth team, so I want to put on the jersey. To play for the Blues is one of my goals. It's a dream in a corner of my mind.
"But I remain focused on what I have to do with Arsenal. It is important for me to continue to progress. I am only nineteen years old, we must not forget it. The rest will follow if I am good enough."

Even Gareth Southgate admitted that national teams are aggressive in their recruiting. I think it should be a case of invitation to fortify the team. We should not have the mindset that we are helping their careers if we do so, even though we may do so in the process. Clementoke: I think the normal thing is to declare first so that the coach will know you are available especially if you are already junior international of another country. My Opinion. |

My second paragraph explains my position clearly. I know you are intelligent enough to get my overall point. If you have not performed well enough, what is the point declaring? If you have performed well enough, shouldn’t your performance attract the coach? ChrisKels: So according to ur first paragraph, we should invite unproven players just because they are willing to repp us? Dats what is called mediocrity glorification. Dude we aint that poor and shouldn't be overly desperate.
Yes keep ur options open just like Danjuma and Ojo just did thats my point. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 10:21pm On Sep 23, 2018 |
My point is keep playing until u are called up. But before then, keep you preference close to your chest. And you are right about that. Coaches have preferences. Balogun would still have got called up by Keshi had he not declared 4 years earlier. Akpan as well. Its not the declaration that would attract a call up. The declaration could actually result in a delay, knowing the player is always available. But if a player is seemingly wanted by the other country or open to both, it makes the player more attractive. Simple psychological stuff. Danielnino00: I believe every coach has his preference... In truth not all foreign born players declared before they got called up but their invitation was largely due to d preference of the coaches in charge then.. Keshi for his own reason chose to ignore Otigba who was in form then but approached Balogun... Rohr is ignoring Dessers who is willing to play for us for some reasons we don't know.. Its not until these FB become exceptionally good before we hand them a call up...but its still up to the coach |

Yes, Onuoha from your village Clementoke: WE are using Otigba as an excuse. I think he was just not lucky. Also you have to respect the preference of the coach at helm of affairs then. Apart from Otigba, is there any other "good" FB player that was ignored SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY DECLARED? |

They were approached and were open to the idea. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 9:51pm On Sep 23, 2018 |
Eh, how many of them really declared prior...? ChrisKels: No mind people make dem dey peddle lies. Otigba is good and he is playing for one poor team in hungry while his mates are in Serie A(Ekong), laliga (Omeruo). Otigba that was a bench warmer in Turkey where Omeruo and Ekong excelled. Otigba was good and he was relegated to the bench soon after his break through at Heerenveen, he was good yet, no big team came for him from the Eredivisie or anywhere else in Europe.
Dessers, a bench warmer for lowly Utretch is only being praised here because of his skin colour. As bad as Isaac Success is, Dessers aint his match. Can Dessers command a starting shirt in the Eredivisie, let alone the Laliga where Success held sway? Dessers is good, yet he hasn't been able to do what kayode did in Wien abi no be same jupiler league he ran away from that our guys have been tearing up over the years from Onyekuru , to Simon, to Kalu, Olayinka, even Bonaventure etc
Make we no dey glorify mediocrity just because we believe that anything foreign is special.
OLA Aina declared, Balogun declared, Vicmo declared, Ebuehi declared, ikeme et al declared and they got invited. My dear, if u are good, u will get a look in, then u if are better than what we have already, then God dun butter ur bread. KPOM!!! |
