Iheanacho as a lone striker is a case of a better devil, at least going by his GWG record.

Oasis007:
Ighalo has not done himself any favour to remain Eagles No. 1 Striker. But I remember when Martins was suggested for a Recall by Forgiveness, the Dude was almost murdered and eaten raw on this Thread.

We keep reading "Success is back - he's a Beast" yet he has not broken to the first IX of Watford Team. Do we have a potent Striker who can replace Ighalo in the Team presently?! Can we really trust Iheanacho as the Team's lone Striker?

So how come they come up with that idea before we even thought about reforms? We don’t like to think as a people. When a few of us come up with ideas, people automatically see it as impractical just because they haven’t seen it done before.

British-born Everton youngster Lookman dumps England to commit to Super Eagles of Nigeria

pulse.ng

Sep 10, 2018 1:00 PM

Lookman was born in England to Nigerian parents and is currently eligible to play for Nigeria.

British-born Everton youngsterAdemola Lookman has made the decision to dump England and commit his international allegiance to theSuper Eagles of Nigeria.

Lookman was born in England to Nigerian parents and is currently eligible to play for Nigeria.

The Everton forward has represented England in the youth levels and scored three goals to help them win the FIFA U20 World Cup title in 2017.

According to a source close to Lookman, the 20-year-old is set to announce his decision to switch his allegiance to Nigeria.

This is after he turned down the opportunity to switch his allegiance to Nigeria after a meeting with the Amaju Pinnick who is the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) earlier in 2018.

Although it not known what changed his stance, Pulse Sports source revealed the 20-year-old has made up his mind to play for Nigeria.

“An announcement will be made soon, I’m close to his management and they have confirmed that he has made the decision,” thePulse Sports source said.

Lookman started his career at Charltonbefore the big move to Everton in 2017. He spent the second half of the 2017/2018 season at Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

Ademola Lookman spent the second part of 2017/2-18 season in German with RB Leipzig  (Static Independent)

Armed with pace, dribbling abilities and a good use of both feet, Lookman usually plays as a wide man from both the right and left wing and can also play centrally.

He made five appearances for the England U19s, i5 for the U20s and seven for the U21.

The NFF in recent years have intensified their effort to convince players of Nigerian descent born abroad to commit their international future to the Super Eagles.

Lookman is following the likes of Alex Iwobi switched their allegiance to Nigeria after playing at the youth levels for England.

Players like Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Tyronne Ebuehi and Bryan Idowu have been some of the success stories while Chelsea strikerTammy Abraham rejected the chance to represent Nigeria to play for England after meeting with Pinnick.

Yes I was about to say if there is gonna be anything like Nigerian football history classes in many years to come, even Aghahowa will get a mention first.

even yakubu and aghahowa in their playing days....were very much better.
I don't wanna waste time talk about a striker who I see play as a defender.

Pls i have a question why is it we don't normally called players who are willing to.play for us.

I remember Kenneth Otigba

Saw Akanji with eagles kit after WC

Alaba paid a visit to eagles's camp in Austria

Eze is ever ready

Deji is eager

But we are waiting for Uduokhai, Akpoguma and Torunarigha to say Yes.

ROHR ON PITCH FOR LIBYA MATCH

''We are only one point behind and we are hosting so we have to win this game. In these two games against Libya, we have to get at least four points, so we have to win,''

''I don't know where we will play because we need a good pitch, a large pitch where we can play our football against a team which did a good job today in South Africa.

''That's why we need a good pitch to play our football for our wingers, for our technical football. We need a good pitch, I hope that we will have it in Nigeria.''

For a friendly of this magnitude, I’m satisfied with this list. However I think Rohr needs to stop tying Ezenwa to his back with wrapper

tbaba1234:
Players for friendly against Liberia

Goalkeepers: Ikechukwu Ezenwa (Enyimba FC); Daniel Akpeyi (Chippa United, South Africa)

Defenders: Semi Ajayi (Rotherham United, England); Chidozie Awaziem (FC Porto, Portugal); Adeleye Olamilekan (FC IfeanyiUbah); Jamilu Collins (SC Paderborn 07, Germany); Ebube Duru (Lobi Stars)

Midfielders: Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City, England); Oghenekaro Etebo (Stoke City FC, England); John Ogu (Hapoel Be’er Sheva, Israel); Kelechi Nwakali (FC Porto, Portugal); Joel Obi (AC Chievo Verona, Italy)

Forwards: Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City, England); Simeon Nwankwo (Crotone FC, Italy); Henry Onyekuru (Galatasaray SK, Turkey); Sunday Adetunji (Enyimba FC); Samuel Kalu (Bordeaux FC, France) and Mfon Udoh (Enyimba FC).

Well said. If anything at least he helped us qualify for the WC.

komekn:
What I learned from yesterday's match is we have a lot of work to do.

Team lacked cohesion bad pitch is not an excuse, this is a team that we should be finishing off. We did not.

Against a better team we would have been severely punished.

The population of Seychelles is less than Ughelli town not local government. I would expect our U20 to beat them. They had a goal keeper with a beer belly. Nobody was outstanding in our team although I liked Musa's goal.

Rohr is not innovative and lacks strategic vision for the team, he is structured but not innovative. A preference for safety and conservatism.

I don't see us hitting high notes with him he is unable to engineer passionate enthusiasm and belief in the team essentially that WINNING MENTALITY.

Success played as a striker in his last competitive game though. Musa was more influential as a CF when he was at CSKA Moscow.

Modified
Danjuma, Ojo, and Lookman — Taken note

forgiveness:
I have followed Success for long, since his days at la Liga to EPL, that is the reason I can tell you he was used more as a winger than a striker. Even when he played as a striker em dey miss goals left right center. I think that was why he was drafted to the wings.

You can see his stats below.

I don't think Musa does better as a striker, rather better as a LW.

I also don't consider Iwobi as a winger but Rohr go still consider him as a RW.

If Rohr doesn't look Danjuma way then I know he is enemy of progress. The boy wey don score three goals with 2 assists this season na em Rohr wan overlook. Make em no try am ooooo.

Lookman and Ojo are ready to play for us. Na Rohr dey dull.

If we have all these players available, dey competition no go small oo. grin

To other news, 20 year old Haitian-Japanese, Naomi Osaka won her first ever major — the US Open — beating Serena Williams. Williams will have to wait till next year to have another shot at tying the all-time record of 24 majors. Osaka was just a year old when her idol, Serena, won her first major.

No doubt Omeruo is a big game player. Etebo and Musa are other examples.

Kog45:
Yes different opinions.

Ekong making Chelsea?

Oh you forget the same guy failed to make age grade Tottenham.

He failed to make it in Belgium.

Also at tail end of Turkish liga he lost his place.

Good for him at Udinese and am happy seeing him week in week out.

But my man Omeruo is better

Russia WC showed the difference between Omeruo and Ekong.

I agree. Success will give more in the GWG

charlesemeka85:
it will even be better for rohr to experiment with isaac success in the number 9 role than calling up ighalo and simy always which yields nothing fruitful. success is familiar in the role and will be a handful for opposing defenders with his pace, skills and aggressive style of play

Lol. If you manage to get your first call up under Rohr, don’t celebrate yet. Pray to feature. If Moses Simon was available, Kalu won’t have kicked a grass.

solonnachi:
What justification does Rohr has for putting Simy, Onyekuru, Nwakali and Etebo on the bench? Maybe his hotel job in France does not give him time to properly monitor our players again. I thought he learnt his mistakes from the last world cup but its obvious he didn't.

I will be very surprised if SA drops a point. in any of those two fixtures. I can’t vouch for Nigeria though. We will likely get 4 points out of it — keeping my high expectations in check.
