Well if some are better than our current crop of U20, why not? Personally I would scrutinize the team and fish out the overaged players.

gamaliel9:
Thats really my point and beyond Africa too if they qualify
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 10:59pm On Sep 03, 2018
Do we have time for fresh call ups? Those on reserve have already been notified that they are in the reserve list though.

Danielnino00:
Are there any replacements lineup up for Ekong,Iwobi and Aina?

I would suggest
Ekong- Seth
Iwobi - Bonaventure/Success
Aina- Muhammed

It depends on what you thought I meant by my statement. Firstly the players are most likely between the ages of 17 and 20. Now the big question is can they compete with the current U20 players for spots in the team? I never meant those transition experiments.
gamaliel9:
Good point..but i fear that previous experiments with such transitions always failed for us....u21 stage needs certain maturity..experience...yes experience...and a lot of grit...if you watched all our games so far in this age group...you will notice that the ones we went far were not really through transition....but a combination of experience...grit...etc Not that we cannot get one or two players to transit...its ok...the last debacle is still fresh

Those players that failed the MRI should be considered for selection in the Flying Eagles.

Sincere Seth or Musa Muhammed?

charlesemeka85:
Torino wing-back Ola Aina has pulled out of international duty with Nigeria after sustaining a muscular injury football Italia reports.

However, Toro announced Aina will not be able to attend international duty for Nigeria’s game against the Seychelles on September 8.

It could possibly mean a late call up to NK Gorica of Croatia right full back Musa Mohammed who was placed on standby in the list of players called up for the clash by coach Gernot Rohr.

Aina would have filled into the right back position with ease following injuries to the duo of Tyronne Ebuehi and Shehu Abdullahi. A replacement is expected to be named later today by Rohr.

Warri! But all this monitoring rumors eh...

charlesemeka85:
Former Warri Wolves Feeders midfielder, Igbekeme James Omonigho has made his third consecutive full competitive appearance for Spanish Segunda Liga side, Real Zaragoza in the Spanish Segunda División since making his move from Portugal.

The highly gifted midfielder was a star performer in his team's 1-1 home draw with visiting Las Palmas at the Estadio de la Romarenda on Saturday.

Known as Otele James in Nigeria, James Igbekeme played all 90 minutes in Zaragoza's 2-1 home win over Rayo Majadahonda on 19 August and also in the tie against Reus Deportiu away from home at the Estadio Camp Nou on 25 August.

The tricky midfielder who started his career at All-Stars FC Effurun at Uvwie LGA of Delta State was a teammate of Super Eagles World Cup Star, Oghenekaro Etebo at Warri Wolve Feeders before making his move to Portuguese side G.D. Ribeirão in 2013 through the efforts of Nigerian scout Paul Ojo.

Igbekeme James Otele signed for fellow Portuguese LigaPro side Gil Vicente F.C. in June of 2017 and made his league debut on 6 August 2017, starting and scoring the winner in a 2–1 away defeat of FC Porto B.

He eventually moved to Spain joining Zaragoza on a four-year deal in June 2018.

The 23-year-old is currently being monitored by national handlers as he is being considered for a possible future invitation to the Super Eagles.

Let him wait for another call to the National team. With his addition our wing position will become more loaded than ever. Glad to see Isaac Success being used as a 9 lately.

ChrisKels:
2goals, 1 assist for Nwakaeme as Trabzonspor beat Galatasaray 4-0.

That's a MOTM performance from the striker.

Lol. I guess they don’t want a situation where they have to set up panel to determine who actually assisted. As long as e touch player, opa ri. It can be annoying sha.

TheSuperNerd:
I was not online for that Iwobi own but honestly, I also don't understand why he was awarded that assist for such a slight touch. Funny how these things work. Small time now, player go sneeze on ball before e reach him teammate and he will be credited for the goal based on "impact of external forces like air from a teammate's lungs".... Frustrating! angry

Kai didn’t we gladly welcome the assist credited to Iwobi the other day?
It’s alright. We still know who singlehandedly worked that goal.

TheSuperNerd:
Well the EPL official site already gave the assist to Maddison for the slightest of touches. F**k it. No wahala but we all know this goal had Nacho written all over it. He had been more than decent since he came on. Go Nacho!
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 2:11pm On Sep 01, 2018
Error on thier part. We all know that goal had Iheanacho written all over it. Nacho did the work, the ball fell to Maddison who couldn’t connect it, only for Ghezzal to hit it in.

Modified
Statistically na Madison assist. But in reality na Nacho o. Well just the way Iwobi was credited with an assist the other day grin

Nah, look closely at the pic and the writing.

It came off Madison, which is why I wasn’t in a hurry to call it a Nacho assist.

Unlimited22:
Goal.com are crazy. Giving Iheanacho's assist to Maddison.

At this stage, only Ajagun deserves a look in.

In other words, you are agreeing that players like Taye Taiwo, Efe Ambrose, Rabiu Ibrahim, Ramon Azeez and Abdul Ajagun are not in this current team because of corrupt Coaching crew or NFF officials.

U no lie sha. But Nigerians won’t forget those goals easily

tbaba1234:
I do not know how we can place too much stock on a meaningless end of the season friendly that Athletico played with the hand brakes on.

Usman Muhammed who dribbled the athletico defence was horrible this weekend in Norway and Nwakali has not shone for Porto B either. These players are not playing at a high level.

I understand responding to a popular call for the golden boy but in terms of merit, Nwakali has done nothing.

The problem is K. Nwakali did not even merit the call up for the Atletico match. Which is why we need to cancel his goal.

safarigirl:
let me quote my lecturer: "The concept of merit varies, people could merit things based on the criteria of the person handing out these things"

For instance, maybe Nwakali merited the invite based on his performance against Atletico Madrid. I remember when people were clamouring for Kelechi after the Atletico game. Rohr was asked about Nwakali in a press conference and he said that the coaching crew has taken note of his performance and his time would come

If Rohr has decided that the time is now, the first game post World Cup, I do not see why you all are saying Nwakali should not be called up. Nwakali and Ebere Eze are not on the same level. Nwakali has had a go at the senior team and excelled, Ebere has not gotten that chance yet. So, saying Ebere merited a call up above Nwakali is wrong.

This brings me back to the requirement that club performance will get you an invite, national team performance will earn you a place. Both players are not at the same stage, therefore Nwakali merited his spot.

Compare Ebere Eze to Semi and Jemiu who have not been capped at all
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:58pm On Aug 28, 2018
K.Nwakali is training with the B team with a view to joining Porto A in the nearest future, where he will later be loaned to IK Start

TheSuperNerd:
Rabiu got his ratings based on youth football... But K.Nwakali got his 2017 ratings and fine reviews based on his output in Dutch second division. His Reference at Goal International also came recently this year (2018).

So this is not about his exploits at U-17 back in 2015. See? wink

And please stop throwing that lie that he is warming the bench at Porto B. That is low of you.
