TheSuperNerd:
Thanks goodness you already addressed that Nacho analysis. because indeed Nacho is more dangerous cutting in from the right and not the left as he said. And that is only as a wing forward in a 4-3-3 not as a traditional winger.
Also Nacho does function beautifully as in a false 9/double false 9 approach or with two up top. He just needs one with the right off ball movements and not a static.

Now, I can say welcome... But the keys to the rooms are in the custody of Sir Joebie... wink He and he alone can show Sir Princfred his very own room.

Welcome then Princfred. Although, I have seen your moniker here a few times... But papa say we never dash you one large room. Sir Joebie Sir.... Over to thee... grin

Dem don perfect am now?
2lola:
my own observation
I noticed that the team were probably practicing crossing and heading against Czech who are I think were very good at this. You will notice that the team really suffer from areal against England probably they worked on it and tried checking the success rate. There were dome ball that were suppose to be a simple pass but you see them crossing

Me I no dey draw formation again o.. all these fantasy formations. Match go come we go see 4-3-3. Joel as LM, Ndidi as RM, Mikel as CM, Ighalo as CF, Moses as RW, Iwobi as LW, Echiejile as LB, Shehu as RB, then Balogun, Ekong and Uzoho. Very predictable. Switch off in the first half, and switch on in the second. If we meet country like Denmark of 1998, dem go rush score all their goal early.

Guys I’m just joking. But I’m serious stop those fantasy formation. It’s either we know what to expect or Rohr will make us keep guessing.

. No player would singlehandedly take us far. They all have to play their parts as a unit for us to do well. Let’s talk tactics. Sometimes I’m beginning to think that some of these players are from our villages o.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 7:34pm On Jun 05, 2018
You see the problem. You are trying to solve mathematics with an opinion that is largely personal. In the first place, there is no game Agu impressed — not considering that Congo DR game which was more like an NPFL exhibition match.

OMANBALA1:
You have to rate these guys based on the number of minutes they played for the SE.

Etebor was on from start to finish against Algeria in Uyo and he was impressive.

Against Cameroon and Zambia both in Nigeria Agu came in as a substitute and held the CM and DM respectively, together. And these two games were our toughest of the whole qualifiers.

Against Algeria away Etebor was woeful.

Against Congo where we have both players together Agu owned and bossed that midfield with little effort while Etebor almost didn't come to play.

I wouldn't go into Onazi because he is practically done.

My point is that Agu has not started a game for Nigeria and there is no game he played and didn't impress

Kai I forgot Musa

I concur wholeheartedly, Iwobi is exactly what we need behind our strikers and the strikers should be players who play for the team and not one smelly rat urine that thinks he's bigger than the team.

Many considerations my friend. Leave all these one-way thinkers
Icon79:
Again, you got it all wrong buddy. It doesn't matter how well you can perform in your football club, if you can't replicate that form in the green and white then you don't belong in the Super Eagles. It's as simple as that.

Secondly, based on my little experience in coaching, I know that a good coach has to consider several things in selecting his team: including experience and balance. The current Super Eagles team is a very young team. How many of them have played in the World Cup before? So why would a serious coach sacrifice experienced players and leaders like: Onazi, Echiejile, and/or Musa, just so he can put in the greenhorns (Aina and Agu) who are not even marginally better?

Trust me, only armchair critics and armchair coaches like y'all would do that.

O pari

Tried and tested in SE colors.

komekn:
One question ❓ seeing he is playing in the lowly Isreali league after failing in the lower European leagues.

How many long range shots has he scored in his entire career and how many this season in Isrealhuh

Then compare that statistic to the people you are asking him to teach.

I will like this to a secondary school student trying to teach mathematics a Professor of Mathematics.

Is that not elementary madness.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:27pm On Jun 05, 2018
What has Agu done that they haven’t since they have all been invited? You want to use verifiable stats or unverifiable points? Agu better than Etebo? Etebo has two very good games under his belt we can’t forget too easily (Against Algeria in Uyo and against England just recently). What stand out performance has Agu had since his call up? Agu and Joel Obi are in the same boat. Rohr chose the latter. I don’t care either way cuz none is significantly better than the other. Club stats is past now since that’s what earned them their call up in the first place.

As for Onazi, Rohr as chosen to keep faith with him. Didn’t Agu get knocks on his debut under Rohr? Or is it the Congo DR performance? If Agu has a strong case because of that game alone, Lokosa has as well.

OMANBALA1:
Joebie and his use of "significantly" to win argument..lol. Its like a clause..smh. "Agu is not significantly better than any of the DM"...Well, hear it from me Agu is better than Onazi and in CM and DM and "significantly" so.

Make una free Onazi. He don apologize. That was the same player that laid a nice cross to Iheanacho to power home against Cameroon. He may not be in his best form, but we can only hope that when given the chance next, he would put in an improved shift.

As regards Agu, if Ghanaians come here to see the player we are making a fuss over, dem go laugh us. We can live without Agu. Agu is not significantly better than any of the DMs in the team. Take that to the bank. We don’t know all the factors Rohr took into considerations before he made his decision. We are only judging from 20, 30 minutes they put in, in a friendly. When Lokosa was dropped how many monikers came to his defense? If Agu is called up tomorrow, it’s up to him to honor the call. There are many deserving DMs dying for their first call. Two players had to be dropped, and it happenes to be Aina and himself. They have to take the disappointment in professional way, and live to fight another day.

oga this is exactly the reason why I don't think one way. The club you play or league you play only tells one thing. But it does not mean that you are better than those who didn't get that opportunity. Even at club level, it's still has to do with opportunity to some extent.

Martz101:
compare a john ogu and Aina

There is so many challenges for African footballers, Aina can't even get enyimba job.

my only regret is Ogu is 30 already.

when you look at Ogu you wonder how did bakayoko get to chelsea and ogu is in israel

Exactly !

His loan contract will be over later this month. Let’s see what lies ahead for him.
goldfish80:
He played very well on his debut against Tanzania. Rohr was in awe of his performance on the day. I think it was Rohr's first game in charge.
The kid is very good, forget about the bad contract he signed in Turkey. He had options to transfer to Athletico Madrid but bad advisers derailed that move.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 12:08am On Jun 05, 2018
Musa has been a regular in Bulgaria. He has even been fielded at LB as well. if Musa was given that chance Aina got it would have been history o. It seems we have forgotten too early Musa had made his debut for Nigeria before that Atletico match. How did he perform? grin
Rohr dropped him for a single reason — lack of game time at his club. Now he’s got many minutes under his belt. Leta see if he will make the cut in Istanbul next season.

goldfish80:
With Musa's natural ability, I imagine he would have improved just like Ebuehi did. I recall Ebuehi saying initially in his early days he wasnt good enough yet for international football.
Aina with all the resources invested in him by Nigeria yet, couldn't acquaint himself. Had Musa been given equal opportunities like Aina and Ebuehi, he would have been ready because the ability is undeniable.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 11:05pm On Jun 04, 2018
That quote from Aina was after he played as a LB in one of Hull’s games. He played 12 matches as LB. That role isn’t entirely new to him.

Yes Ogu did pretty well as CB

Modified
I though he did well. Had to see if his stats was good. Not surprised.

forgiveness:
Etebo played mostly as a CMF in the U23 and he won the player of the tournament and he has gone to play that role in his club.

So, I was not surprised because that was not his first time doing it in La Liga and against England.

Besides, players are different. Not all can play different roles but they florish/florished in the only role they play/plaued throughout their lives and are the best in it especially as a RB or LB. e.g Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Marcelo, etcetera.

Do that make them unprofessional players?

If you think Ogu did very well in the CB position, EOD. lipsrsealed

SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:25pm On Jun 04, 2018
Players don't just say that. You play where you are needed in the team as a true professional. They understand they have to do their best whenever they are called to one of the roles they can play. Ogu did very well as CB in Super Eagles camp which is why I was not surprised when he played there on Saturday. Is he a better CB? it was hard to tell from the England match. Shows he showed up when called to play there. And he needed just one half, and in a big occasion (against England) for that matter to show he was also up to the task.

Besides one fine grounder pass in his debut, Aina hasn't done anything noteworthy in SE colors. Etebo isn't a CM, but he showed up when he was called to play there, even in a big stage against Barca. True professionals know this that's why they say what they say. They may have a preferred role, but they know that they have to show up when called to the other roles. So let's just call a spade a spade. Aina failed in this regard.

forgiveness:
No bi wetin Ogu talk before we see am land for CB?

So, because Ogu talk am mean say he is better a CB than CMF?

Players do that just to play. It doesn't mean they are good enough for another role.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 7:43pm On Jun 04, 2018
I don't think even Aina would blame Rohr for not fielding him on the right. You people are just making noise out of nothing. Aina will live to fight another day. I wish him the best in his return to SE

Aina:

''It's the same really and I don't see too much of a difference," Aina told hullcitytigers.com.

"I feel comfortable on the left, as I do on the right, and I still look to take the opportunity to get forward when I can.

''It felt like I had a lot of space in that sense on Tuesday night and I enjoyed that."

forgiveness:
Musa Mohammed wey no fit make bench for Turkish league and ordinary Bulgarian league na em dey far more talented?

Somebody wey don dey win MOTM awards in his first full season, na em no get talent?

I can tell you Ebuehi is not better than Ehizibue but na wetin you see you wan see.
