Sincerely I wish we could exchange Aina, Onazi, J. Obi for other players outside the 30. e.g Duru, Azubuike, and Esiti respectively Jk Icon79: Nope. I think the two players to be axed are still Mikel Agu and Ola Aina. Nothing has changed. However, in Russia, I would prefer a DM combo of Ndidi and either Ogu or Etebo. Ogenyi Onazi and J. Obi really failed my hands today.

I have more faith in 3-5-2. Again we should try Simy and Ighalo in a two-prong attack. Iwobi as AM. Mikel as CM, Ndidi as DM. Idowu and Ebuehi as LWB and RWB respectively. Any 3 of Ogu, Balogun, Ekong and Omeruo as our CBs. And We’d be just fine. Mujtahida: That was an experiment oo. And like you said he doesn't have faith in that system. If not for the absence of Ighalo and the two Moses do you think Rohr would have used that 3-5-2? He is stuck in that mantra.
But you know that that mantra can only work if you have all your players having the ability to play all tactical formations well yet you can see that some players flourish in one tactical set up more than the others but if you are stuck with the mantra you will press your players into the tactics rather than match specific players to the tactics. |

He changed a wining team na. But he didn’t have faith in that new formula. I’m talking in respect to the Argy game. We should have been building from there. Mujtahida: What is killing our coach is not this so called average team bullshyte some trogs are crying up and down here. The coach is damn too conservative. He only tries new things when the situation is gone awry. He did it against Argentina, he was saved. Today again same thing.
Those players that played first half were basically chosen in accordance with the-you never - change - a - winning-team mantra. Winning team bawo?. I say the times have changed. This is not the age for mantras. This is not the age for formulas. You have to think and rethink your strategy.
Even with these set of players if the coach is a bit radical we can hurt teams and win games. |

That’s a good catch. I was wondering when I saw their names on their shirts today. Modified Well Nike can always get them new ones. eterisan: Aina and Agu are the players to be dropped. Check their jersey numbers. |

There are people who believe that where u play determines your quality. But there remains another challenge. Translating it to national assignments. Football no be 1+1. Ogu from a backwater league have been in good form for us since his return to SE. realpoacher: Right from day that Joel Obi to this team, I have been shouting here that the guy is CRAP. No one believed me. Because of him now Ogu is one the bench. Ogu is slow but he is a very calculaive player.
Ogu has so many advantages than that empty Joel obi. Ogu brings stability to the team in the middle.
Don't even get me started on Onazi, left to me Onazi and Joel obi should stay far away from this team.
Look at how the game changed in the second half after Iwobi and Etebo took over from those two clowns in Onazi and Joel.
Iwobi has shown that he is born for the middle. See the way he took complete control of that midfield. He literally stole it from the English.. He brought Nigeria back into contention. What he did today is what we expected from Joel Obi all along. Thats how a CM play.
Iwobi became the cement between the defence and the attack. He showed today that he can dribble, he can assist, he can play deep, and he can singlehandedly change the course of a game.
Nigeria now has 3 standard game changers. Mikel, Iwobi and V. Moses....
Anyone of them is a game changer peradventure the others doesn't come to party.
Mikel destroyed Argentina, Moses destroyed Algeria and Cameroon, today Iwobi changed this England game.
Lets pray that 2/3 of them comes to party in our matches in the world cup at the same time. |

Una wan blame Uzoho? Why didn’t we score more than 1 goal. I said pages back that our problem will not be in the gk department, but our forwards will need to deliver. Uzoho had an above average game. And that’s great for an opponent like England playing at home. He will get even better before the WC. Expect him again in goal for the full 90 mins against Czech Icon79: Bros, calm down. Uzoho impressed me today actually. Frankly, I wouldn't blame him for any of the goals. The second goal was a bullet shot from a top striker, not many keepers can keep that out. Personally, Uzoho wouldn't be my preferred keeper if we have lots of options, but right now he's the best man for the job.

We’ve been saying this Icon79: Oh, Ebuehi is a no brainer now. I will cry blue murder if Rohr starts Shehu ahead of Ebuehi in Russia. The differences in quality is not even close.

I think our passing game improved dramatically in the second half. Hence I won’t be giving the team some knocks. We learnt two or more things from this friendly that would help us tremendously going forward. |

Now we know the two players that will be dropped will not be Ogu or Etebo in midfield. Ogu has played as a CB in training so o wasn’t surprised. Joel Obi or Onazi should be axed. Of course the other is a no brainer. Rohr will not pick Aina over Echiejile. Now u know |

First-Half Analysis
1. As a unit we have been poor in cohesion 2. Iwobi has been Nigeria’s best on the pitch. Playing like a playmaker. 3. Uzoho needs to iron out one or two things and he’d be ready for the biggest stage when the WC begins. 4. Onazi has been poor. 5. Still waiting for an above average game from Joel since his return. 6. Our fullbacks have been okay. 7. We’ve not really been missing Mikel all this while. 8. Now u know why I never wanted to start Ighalo in all my lineups. |
