I like what Finidi is doing. The likes of Oliseh will see the reality. Come to the NPFL and don't give up on the league. You will have another shot at SE someday, or at least move to bigger clubs in Africa.

Mujtahida:
Let's no dally around asking such questions. Who is the Apoty? That's the kind of question you just asked me. And besides, it's a wrongly worded question. The essence of your question - since you use America - is that you are a native of the country wey you japa go because you have conquered the country and created a new nation? 🤣🤣🤣

Hausa man wey stay for your land, becomes a native abi and we often fight against fulani people as land grabbers? Una well done. Let's bring it home and contextualize it with our own ethnic nationalities and see if a Yoruba Man will agree that an hausa man is a Yoruba man.

Is a Yoruba man who as a matter of fact are many in Zaria and have been there for over a 100 years an hausa man?

I won't be responding after this sha so that it doesn't become a political discourse but my point is that Saka is not an English man.

Who are ethnic natives of America?

Mujtahida:
I simply believe that it is right for native people to represent themselves. Where's the beauty of the competition? It's like AFCON in Europe. Let Europeans do the Euro and AFCON for Africans.

If it is America, its okay for blacks to cover the ground due to the history of that country or if there are one or two blacks in an European team but to have the whole team dominated by black people is fraud of a certain kind.

Lest I be interpreted as anti black. No. I'd say the same thing if the Japanese team is dominated by white people.

This idea that just because a person's parents emigrate to a country, give birth in that country, fiam their children now become natives is a fraud in the same category as the trans agenda when a woman says she's a man or vice versa.

So Saka is an English man now? Odiegwu

Dear NFF,
It is a fact that many of you nff members are always on nairaland sports thread, obviously to feel the impulse of Nigerians about the super Eagles.

Many thanks for throwing out finidi George but it is more important that the team made it to the world cup and also perform excellently.

The best coach I'll recommend is Herve renald if truly you want the best for the eagles. He is currently with the french female team and he is most likely to be available by August 2024.

Another gamble with another mediocre will definitely spell doom for the super Eagles.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:24pm On Jun 15, 2024
It was deliberate to approach that game. But the context is playing style. Finding that playing style/identity was accidental.

Mujtahida:
My point is that try you mentioned. That decision was not accidental. It was intentional. Just reason through how he came to play that way against the host and you'd see it was deliberate.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:09pm On Jun 15, 2024
My brother yiu have forgotten he tried that strategy for a team he believed he had to play defensive with during the group game. After that he approached EVERY other game the same way.

Mujtahida:
Who he played the final with is not the issue. All I'm saying is that it was a deliberate decision to try it. And somehow it worked. Just think about it. Telling the players, this is how we will play. Ekong you do this, Bassey you do this, Osimhen you do this. And you say it was not intentional?

It's just like a man toasting many girls and decided to marry one. His toasting them was deliberate.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:37pm On Jun 15, 2024
I for vem believe had he changed strategies mid game.

So somehow, after the first game and before taking on the hosts in Ivory Coast, he just decided a new formula? You want me to believe this? That formula was meant for Ivory Coast. After that game he could not trust anything else.
Why did he play the FINAL with some injured players?

Mujtahida:
You do not know that he stumbled. I have said so too but we do not know. Neither you nor I are in his mind and we were not privy to how he came to using the method.

And the facts are more in favor of his being intentional about it than saying he stumbled. It was not like mid game he now tried out the method. No. He set his team that way from the beginning of a game. So it was deliberate. It's just that when he got good result with it, he stuck with it.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:27pm On Jun 15, 2024
I personally also criticized his invitations especially in defense. And I think that came back to bite him.

Non performing players or Injured players have no business in the official list. Yes, they can come to camp to motivate etc.

Goke7:
There was a reason Musa was in that team despite the complaints many of us have, Yes osihmen and Ekong were injured but what stopped Finidi from inviting them to camp even if it's to sit out at training to continue the team bonding we saw at Afcon.

Let's not forget we had injuries going to Afcon too which disrupted Paseiro's plans, Boniface, Nididi, Sadiq(true or not). I'll keep insisting we have lost something huge from Afcon.

Finidi was very flexible versus Benin. I had to correct yiu there regardless of the outcome of that game.

Mod
And Peseiro did not find his way. He wasn’t intentional but stumbled on it

Mujtahida:
Stiff coach who found his way to a working method. All our coaches have been stiff. Rohr was stiff, Peseiro stiff. Finidi in his short stint was stiff. The new coach once he finds a working method will be stiff. It's even a mantra in football: never change a winning team.

Incorporation of new ideas could mean playing the same method with different players in one or two positions.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:11pm On Jun 15, 2024
Problem is Finidi was a nobody under Peseiro. How the players go take look am? I wonder why he stayed at the “job”. There will always be a temptation to stamp some authority coupled with the missing players due to injury.

There is no guarantee that Peseiro would have done well in the absence of those players.

Mujtahida:
Walahi if Finidi had continued or maybe tweaked Peseiro's method, we would probably not be here but like you said he wanted to show he's his own man.

The thing with Peseiro's method is that Peseiro himself stumbled on it. He was playing or attempting to play attacking football, but it wasn't working until he tried the 3-5-3 method and it clicked. It was pragmatism and it took us to the final which we could possibly had won if he had properly rotated his squad.

This lust for beautiful football, will finish us if we continue to be immature and not act wisely.

It'd have been wisdom for Finidi to employ a method the players were used to, get good results and then with space and in good time bring in his own philosophy instead he wanted to please the fans and brought in toko Tika method and see how our players were jamming each other running all over the pitch. No structure, no shape. Chai.

Finidi = Finidi (not local coaches)
Oasis007:
Finidi George really let most of us that wanted local coaches DOWN. Shame won't let me post here after the nonsense he served us.

Meanwhile, I ain't gonna stop believing in the local coaches. Late Keshi did it. Siasia is someone I really trust can handle the job. Give him time to start not in the middle or end of job and expect miracle to happen.

Sir Finidi George............................your papa.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:05pm On Jun 15, 2024
I don’t think much would have changed. He was always a stiff coach.
Mujtahida:
So you don't you have ideas about how best Peseiro should have refined what was at least a working method and if you do, why do you think he'd not have incorporated new ideas?

Or you think Peseiro went through the heat of Afcon and learnt nothing about his tactics, his players and African football?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:03pm On Jun 15, 2024
Well I’m saying Peseiro already put us in risky grounds. And he had good number of games before the AFCON.

Goke7:
some of us are saying Finidi needed more time, we gave Paseiro time and he got results in Afcon whether he stumbled on any tactic or not, if we were reasonable we should have known that another new coach would need more time but we went ahead to gamble with world cup qualifiers.

I remember saying here that any new coach will need about 5 games before finding his balance, we have ourselves to blame, Paseiro or not. All in the past now, we move.
