trust me, i'm enjoying it.. but my hopes are not high up there.

BascoVanVeli:
Haba let the guy land first na. Well he is more mature than Odey and he won't have call ups to interrupt on his goal spree. Though I can't ignore that there is a possibility that u could end up being right but let's just enjoy him while it last.

you mean they would have beaten the Japanese club hands down?

somehow:
I watched the match he got injured in, it was Asian champions league match, he had about 2 shots on goal and won a PK before he was injured within 22 mins, got stretched out, that's where I knew it was severe.. they ended up drawing 2:2 from 2:0 up. If he was still on, I bet they wouldn't have won the game hands down against Kawasaki frontier.

Umar needs to maintain that superior goal per minute ratio. As it stands, a better way to compare them is by focussing on their current Eredivisie record.

somehow:
Umar with more goals in fewer matches than Dresser?

Wow.. Is he that potent goalwise?

truthfully, he came and lighted up the EPL. It's not like he significantly improved.. He may have been a little underrated all this while.. This is the same man that singlehandedly stopped us from qualifying for AFCON. Moses is good.. But Salah belongs to the world class category.

goldfish80:
Ok, Salah was born this season. Let's conveniently forget he contributed about 32 goals (18 goals and 14 assists) playing for As Roma from the wings!!!

YOUNGSTER ON RAMPAGE: Chukwueze nets hat-trick in Villarreal whacking
By Ade Alabi - April 4, 2018 48 0

Nigerian-born Villarreal U-19 prolific winger, Samuel Chukwueze, has been in fine form and constantly impressing for his club side in the U-19 league, the Division de Honor Juvenil, AOIFootball.com can report.

There was no respite for UCAM Murdia U-19 as the Abia State-born youngster tore apart the defence, netting a hat-trick and making an assist in the encounter on Good Friday.

His team went on to win the match 8:3 at home and Samuel was gifted with the match day ball after the game.

The former Diamond Football Academy player and gold medalist with Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets at the 2015 U-17 World Cup in Chile, has a total of 7 goals and 9 assists in the league so far.

“It is a great feeling and I feel so happy because it’s my first hat-trick for the team,” Samuel exclusively told AOIFootball.com from his base in Spain.

Samuel is definitely one for the future and a future Super Eagles material if he continues in this feat.

Villarreal U-19 currently seat 4th on the log in the Division de Honor Juvenil.

World Cup List: Rohr could invite some new faces, says Agali
By Ayo Olu Ibidapo - April 3, 2018 709 0

Former Super Eagles’ star Victor Agali is of the view that Coach Gernot Rohr could spring a few surprises ahead of naming his 35-man provisional World Cup list, admitting the Franco-German is keen to give equal opportunity to every player in other to select the best hands for the country.

The former OGC Nice attacker, who spoke to AOIFootball.com, said Nigerians should believe in Rohr because, after Bonfrere Jo and Clemence Westerhof, the Franco-German is the next best thing in terms of foreign coach to have happened to the country.

“I believe we all must be patient with Rohr because after the likes of Westerhof and Bonfrere Jo, I believe Gernot is another blessing to Nigerian football. He tries his best to carry everybody along, and gives players equal opportunity to be selected and listens to all is scouting and technical team.

“I know Gernot Rohr is fair to all and is committed to developing the image of our football. He will decide on that. I can’t comment on if he will stick with the ones he has tested and know or not, but may be one or two new faces, just maybe. I strongly believe we should scout more and know more of about opponents,” Agali concluded.

Actually, here's how I described that goal on the bbc.com website
Post #1:
That was a great goal, no doubt but enough of the hype. We have definitely seen better goals, especially considering that he hit from insider the box with no challenge. From that range, he couldn't miss. O pari

Post #2:
I would like to see him take the ball from the middle of the pitch and go through 4-5 defenders like Messi and then finish with a goal, instead of always waiting inside the 18 yard box for a cheap tap in. That's what makes him a great player ... anybody can score a cheap tap in. O pari

“The opportunity to play for Nigeria at the World Cup would, of course, have honoured me. After all, my father played for this country, too.”

“However, it quickly became clear to me that I wanted to prove myself to the DFB. I’m new to the U21 and I really want to assert myself there.”

“I recently called the Nigerian coach, Gernot Rohr, and explained to him that Jordan would continue to play for Germany in the future. He thought it was a pity, but he understood”, Zorn was quoted as saying by German publication B.Z.

Nigerian Striker Nominated For League Two Player Of The Season Award
Published: April 03, 2018
Nigerian Striker Nominated For League Two Player Of The Season AwardNigerian striker Adebayo Akinfenwa has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Season award.

The Wycombe Wanderers frontman has been shortlisted for the accolade along with Mohamed Eisa (Cheltenham Town) and Billy Kee (Accrington Stanley).

The 2018 EFL Awards will be held on April 15th at the London Hilton on Park Lane and awards will be given out across twelve categories.

The only player of Nigerian descent that made the shortlist, Akinfenwa, has been in brilliant form for Wycombe Wanderers in the fourth-tier of English football, scoring 17 goals in 39 starts while notching up 14 assists.

Whatever the outcome of the Player of the Season award, the 35-year-old will certainly walk away from the ceremony with his head held high as he has been named to the Team of the Season in the division.

In a 4-3-3 formation chosen by managers of clubs in League Two, Akinfenwa was one of the three strikers selected.

The former Watford youth-teamer lists Leyton Orient, Swansea City, Millwall, Northampton Town, Gillingham and AFC Wimbledon amongst his former clubs.

tbaba1234:
I am concerned about his form for Nigeria.. If he scores for Nigeria and does not score at club level, i do not care..

Ideye scored plenty goals in Ukraine but could not reproduce that form for Nigeria, Akpala scored a lot in Belgium but could not reproduce that for Nigeria, Ujah was a goal machine in Germany but failed to replicate that for Nigeria.

His return for Nigeria is poor, 4 goals in 15.. That needs to drastically improve in the WC..

I once said it was too early to say 90% of the team for Russia is already known to Rorh. The point is the outcome and performance of these players in friendlies can always move him one way or the other..
If we had done excellently over those friendlies, there wouldn't be any talk like this.. but I like what's going on. Let's keep our fingers crossed.. Eventually, there should be a LEAST a few surprises

Rohr combs Europe for strikers

Apparently not satisfied with the performance of his players against Serbia last Tuesday, the Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has vowed to get prolific strikers that would deliver at this year’s World Cup.

The Eagles, after labouring to beat Poland 1-0 on March 23rd, 2018, the team played below expectation in the next match against Serbia at the Barnet Stadium in England four days later. Rohr has since spread his dragnet to search for potent strikers and unique players that could transform his team to a world beater.

In a chat with NationSport when asked if he was looking for prolific strikers that can score goals more easily for the Eagles, Rohr disclosed that he has put the machinery in motion to upgrade all the departments of his team in readiness for the 2018 World Cup

“We are still ready to take someone really stronger than those players we have. Each weekend we are monitoring a lot of players with our scouting team”, the Franco- German football tactician replied.
