Aigbogun says Flying Eagles on track after Egypt tests By admin - March 29, 2018, 9:27 am 325
Coach Paul Aigbogun has said the Flying Eagles are on track after two test matches against their Egyptian counterparts.
The Nigeria U20s drew 0-0 in their first game in Alexandria, while they lost the second game 2-1 on Wednesday. “We came here (Egypt) to look at the boys we have put together and that we are working with, and to see if we are on the right path. On the evidence of performance by the boys from the two matches, I believe we are,” Aigbogun remarked.
“We also came here to see how they would cope in game situations, and we were not disappointed.”
“Losing narrowly against an Egyptian U20 side that had been in camp for upwards of one year was not a bad performance, but a message to work harder.”
He added: “In friendly matches, it is not the result that matters. We drew our first leg and lost the second 2-1, but I am very happy that not only have we come away with vital lessons, our objectives for the tour have been met.”
AFC Bournemouth midfielder Nathan Nnamdi Ofoborh debuted for the Flying Eagles after he opted to represent Nigeria and not England.
In May, the seven –time African champions will play the winners of the Sierra Leone vs Guinea Bissau preliminary fixture in the first round of the 2019 Africa U20 Cup of Nations qualifiers.

@bolded.. u wish.. The home based team is officially the team B. I wish it wasn't so TheGoodJoe: The team B is not the CHAN Super Eagles but a group of players who are close to be part of the main Super Eagles. Also those dropped who could have made the team. Also most likely those who have a big shot of making the next Olympics team.
SUPER EAGLES B/OLYMPIC MEN TEAMSalisu Yusuf (Head Coach); Imama Amapakabo; Kennedy Boboye; Fidelis Ilechukwu; Alloy Agu (Goalkeepers’ Trainer)
The NFF listed the above as the coaches for the team B although I still have some disagreement with the arrangement.
However, the team should promote competition for the current squad, a room to test likely candidates for the Super Eagles with less risk and also integrating potentials who are distant to the culture of the team.
The Nations Cup qualifiers starts after the World Cup. This should be a chance to prepare those who would challenge for places now.
Players like Alampasu could have been tested during this break. |

Firstly, Uduokhai has been clocking minutes match after match -- over 1200 minutes with a goal -- in the German Bundesliga.. That a alone trumps all of Iorfa's achievements in lowly Championship. Iorfa's affiliation to his parent club which is at the moment still a championship club like Ipswich is inconsequential. There is no double standards here. Uduokhai as it stands is still open to Nigeria. And we are looking his direction because his currents stats is impressive. However, Iorfa declaring for Nigeria is just one thing. The other thing is that he has to play his way into SE minders. He is not one of the best CB or RB in the second tier currently.. He should keep working hard. He is young and he will get his time maybe when he starts to play for Wolves in the EPL (if they eventually get promoted of course ) komekn: I have asked this question before , never got an answer beyond the usual emotive ramblings birthed from negative dislike.
Is Uduokhai better than Dominic Iorfa and how objectively.
Dominic is a CB and a RB but with a preference for the CB position has won in the past best young player and MOTm when he was at Wolves and played over a 110 games in the Championship. He is still signed to Premiership bound Wolves he is on loan at Ipswich.
Second Question, we seem to be creating a different set of rules for German Nigerian origin players recruitment into the SE particularly considering they have made public statements that they are more interested in waiting for Germany.7 |

FOOTBALL LEGEND KANU TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA IN 2019
Football legend Kanu to run for president of Nigeria in 2019 Nkwankwo Kanu by Austin Ditlhobolo
Monday Apr 02, 2018. 16:00
Nigerian football legend Nwankwo Kanu has been inspired by Liberian icon George Weah’s feat.
The former Arsenal FC and Inter Milan forward has announced he will run for President of Nigeria in 2019.
Weah, who had a very successful football career in Europe, was elected President of Liberia in the 2017 election, defeating the incumbent Vice President Joseph Boakai, and sworn in on 22 January 2018.
“My presence here today is about the future of our country and the happiness of our people,” Kanu said on Goal.
“The last 18 years of leadership has witnessed a decline in all critical sectors of life in Nigeria, plus general insecurity in the land.
“Also, I’ll do all it takes to wrestle corruption which has become blatant and widespread. The rest of the world looks at Nigeria as the home of corruption," Kanu, who also had a successful career in Europe, added.
“If I get your mandate, I promise to do things differently and restore honour and integrity to public service by keeping the best and attracting the best.
"George Weah's victory in Liberia is a pointer that this dream is very realistic with you all on my side."
Kanu, 41, will be hoping to unseat incumbent president Muhammadu Buhari during the Nigerian general elections which will be held in Nigeria on 16 February 2019.

Humility017: I don't have the stats...because I have never been moved by his play.... I don't hate him mind you....by nigeria ties I should even be more closer to him and ideye...

u people want Okocha to call of his retirement eh.. I was watching that Yobo exhibition match yesterday.. Modified Let me add that Ighalo should get at least 50% credit for converting.. it was still a half chance.. but great pass from Mikel TheSuperNerd: Chaaaiiiiii.... Not joining the discussion but just picking out the sweet beautiful memory of that pass.... It was absolute class on display by the Odogwu himself.
I keep saying this. Mikel may not be fast with based on pace but he is super fast based on his quick creative thinking. His Brain neurons and synapses fire off at a speed that make him anticipate the game's flow and this is what makes up for his slow pace.
You just brought back sweet memories of that super pass.... Awwwwwwwwn... Class is permanent indeed.... Me just loving that pass over and over again... |

Home Nigeria Nigeria Coach Who Discovered Shehu Abdullahi Tells Rohr – He Is Better As A Holding Midfielder Than Right Back April 2, 201806
Coach John Obuh who gave Bursaspor of Turkey and Super Eagles ace Shehu Abdullahi his breakthrough at national level says the 24 year old is better as a defensive midfielder than at right back.
Abdullahi has played most of his senior international career at right back for Nigeria, but at club level he has turned out as a defensive midfielder, and that is the role he is currently playing at his Turkish team.
Obuh who was the first to play the former Kano Pillars teen prospect at right back during his time with the Nigeria U-20 says Abdullahi can do more for Nigeria if played from his original role as a defensive midfielder.
” He came to me as a holding midfielder and was very good in controlling the ball under pressure but he was very fragile and slow in recovery, but very good in passes and long kicks. So I needed such at the right back, hence I converted him”, Obuh told Owngoalnigeria.com in an exclusive chat.
DONT MISS ==> Eagles Coach Rohr Rules Out Onyekuru From Russia World Cup 2018 ” I think he can do better in the holding midfield as it is today”, the coach who recently resigned from his role as coach of Kwara United concluded
Shehu will make the 23 man squad barring injuries he is a very important player and would play him as a DMF |

He is tall but not strong.
I asked why for someone who is supposed to have so much potential why has he not broken into the first team of Roma. A total of 18 career games at the age of 21 is to be honest very poor.
He is not a replacement or even contender for the no.9 in the SE. He has a long way to go. |
