by trash I was only saying he should not use that in this argument. Rankings is irrelevant in this discussion. Rankings can be used in other contexts as a reference.

In individual sports rankings have a greater significance. In team sports there are many factors that are considered, which is why I cannot just do a player to player comparison purely based on club rankings (and that was the actual context.

Komekn I can take u in this if u want us to apply that logic to comparing players. And we are going to use players that are not Nigerians. Let me know when u are ready.

komekn:
I am very suprised at you making that kind of sweeping statement. See the bold.

Tell me one nation in the past 40 years that has won the world cup that was not ranked in the top 10 huh

Tell me one club that has one tye champions league that it's league was not ranked in the top 10.

In actual fact in both permutations it's more like top 5 as opposed to top 10.

Have no doubt top players will play in top leagues and top clubs eventually.

Reality what is your reality. Tell me one not two just one please, player who has a rating that is not reflective of his standing that we have in thier current club.

Your descriptive diction (most times) is very sweeping and totally misleading. You seem to have little appreciation of this science of football analysis.

Of course there will be exceptions but broadly speaking rankings are indicative of the reality. That's why it's possible that a team that is ranked well below us can beat us and vice versa. After all what was south Africa ranking when they played us.

Goalkeepers Crisis – Bnei Sakhnin Ex Nigeria U17 Goalkeeper Akpan Udoh Gets Flying Eagles Invitation

https://i1.wp.com/owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/AD538B9B-6132-4EB0-8B23-371935108D86-2779-0000015FFE741113.jpeg

The goalkeeper of the title winning Nigeria U17 team of 2015 Akpan Udoh has been invited to the present Nigeria U20 team under the guidance of coach Paul Aigbogun.

Udoh is presently keeping goal for the youth team of Israeli side Bnei Sakhnin, and in the over 16 games he has kept this season, he was posted shut out in nine games with three man of the match awards to his name as well.

As reported by this portal, the issue of a good goalkeeper is one of the problems the U20 team are currently facing, and the coaches are hoping Udoh will be an upgrade on the goalkeepers they have in camp.

A club source revealed to Owngoalnigeria.com, that he was invited last month but visa issues stopped him from honouring the call, which would have seen him take part in the two friendly games they played against Egypt.

He is however expected to join the Flying Eagles in camp when the league ends in Israel. Udoh is not new to the demands of playing for the U20s as he kept goal for the Emmanuel Amuneke lead team of 2016 that failed to qualify for the African Youth Championship.

Popular Israeli scout David Ouziel manages the affair of the shot stopper, whom many believe has the ability to become the Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper in a not too distant future.

BascoVanVeli:
Dzeko has not been in Italy so long. I still don't get ur point. Who from the Italian league has gone to England and taken it by storm apart from Mohamed Salah? Cuadrado was the man Salah went to Fiorentina to replace and he flopped at Chelsea, went back to Italy and became the man again.

Rohr won't take back his word on Enyeama
Aren't we tired of using Agbo as a training material already? Let's have players that would really fight for a shirt.
It's looking like Onyekuru is already training with Anderlecht.. Welcome developmet
I endorse Eze's invitation. We don't want running chickens without a head -- but creative players. Eze is a special player. He should have the one and only rookie slot.

The Italian league has it's own uniqueness with rugged defenders. I don't expect a player from England for example to go over there and start tearing the league up -- and vice versa. I'm going to make a wild GUESS that the players you mentioned have been in the serie a for quite a while.. are any of them on their debut or second season?

when the rankings change does that automatically mean that the player(s) in question also change in quality? Let me ask you in a more elementary way.
Should Umar get signed by a team ranked higher (IN RANKING)than Shaktar tomorrow, would you then argue that Umar is better than Kayode? grin

forgiveness:
UEFA rating is based on your performance at the highest level. Teams don't just get points out of the blues. They earn it.

let him maintain his goal per minute ratio that's my point.. He has the all time top scorer to contend with. And if he can stretch the record, let him go for it.

BascoVanVeli:
Why does he need an excuse he already has 14 goals 8 more than any one else. Odey had players like Alhassan, Adetunji, Mfon Udoh and Victor Mbaoma nipping on his heels but in this case we have a firm one horse race.

Put those rankings in your trash. It doesn't always add up. Today Nigeria is ranked below 40 in the world. Can u beat your chest and say all the teams above us in the rankings will beat us. Similarly you cannot say a player is better than another just only because of the league they play. Put those rankings in the trash. While rankings can be a good reference point sometimes, but it does not hold most times in reality.
Would Kayode even manage to score a goal in Serie A? -- Let me use ur overplayed logic, what was Kayode doing at age 19?

forgiveness:
It is either you play in a top league or with a top club.

Kayode is playing with a top club better than all the clubs in Eredivise based on current form.

Is it true?

As lowly as Ukrainian league maybe to you, it's better than Eredivise.

Where is Eredivise and the best club in Eredivise on the list of best clubs and best leagues in the world.

Remove hatred and sentiment for your head and be objective for once. Thanks

Martins was one of my favorite players in his earlier career and SE days. I have no reason to be happy about his injury.
And there was nothing official about him being under consideration by Rohr before the mishap. So I am indifferent.

BascoVanVeli:
The only thing I can see slowing him down is the fact that he is so far ahead of everyone else which means there will be no one to push him.

Sometimes I wonder what's the real underlying issue behind the player comparisons. A player has been ruled out for 6 months or so, and the argument is still on about him.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 11:18am On Apr 06, 2018
So Kayode is now better than Dessers and Umar combined..

And what if he fails to keep scoring in lowly Ukraine? Will that override all his accomplishments in Spain?

forgiveness:
Let me help you since you don't know. Kayode didn't play as a striker in most of the games he played for.

So, please, don't pass wrong information that he was given a lot of opportunities.

Besides, he was not benched because he didn't perform or scored goals but it was because the main striker was scoring goals.

Even though Kayode got two assists and MOTM in a match he was benched in the next match. Can you explain the reason for that?

Umar and Dessers will not even smell bench, then how can dey score goals?

How can dey win MOTM?

How many goals did Umar score in a Sergio_A which is lesser than la Liga with all the chances he had?

Dessers is struggling to start in Eredivise, na la Liga em go come start?

This is subjective analysis I am seeing here.

BOURNE IDENTITY Bournemouth star Jordon Ibe set to snub Nigeria to try and earn England World Cup place
The winger’s form has reignited interest for him to switch countries from the Three Lions

JORDON IBE will snub Nigeria to keep himself in the frame for England.
The Bournemouth winger’s form has reignited interest for him to switch countries from the Three Lions.

Jordan Ibe will snub Nigeria to try and play international football with England
Ibe qualifies for Nigeria through his father and they are willing to offer the chance to fight for a World Cup place at Russia next year.

But the 22-year-old is refusing to give up on forcing his way into the reckoning for England under Gareth Southgate.

Ibe was tipped for an England call-up 18 months ago when he broke into the Liverpool first team as successor to Raheem Sterling, with Roy Hodgson admitting he liked him.

The ex-Wycombe youth player struggled settle when he moved to Bournemouth but has now started to live up to his £15million price tag.

Jordan Ibe far right) still has ambitions to represent England
He has six assists this season in all competitions and netted the winner in the 2-1 win against Arsenal at Dean Court at the weekend.

And he wants to make sure he is available for Southgate if the England boss is looking at his options for next summer’s tournament.

Southgate picked him for the Under-21s in 2015, with Kop youngster Joe Gomez also called up at the time and on a path to the seniors.

Ibe has played for England’s youth teams and would prefer to stick with the Three Lions despite Nigeria wanting him.

Dessers is 23, he has arrived age-wise.. You never know what he might do if he moved to La Liga for example.. it's hard to really say.. which is why i'm not so strict on this league comparison thing..
Did Sadiq get lots of playing time in Serie A?

Modified
Take a look at Orji Okwonkwo
He had 3 goals from 10 matches in the serie A
This term he's not even scored a goal after 6 matches in Serie B, even though he has clocked more minutes.

You see what I mean? This is why i'm not big on league comparison.. it's all about player form and maybe other factors as well.

somehow:
I believe the league both of them are will only teach them how to score with less difficulty defense wise, will they be able to repeat same goal scoring ratio when they go to a better league?

I will still rate Umar ahead of Dresser because he came from a higher and more difficult league where he actually had some goals recorded to his name.
