It's perfect. But the only problem when you have to do a post for every Nigerian player in the championship grin
How about he keeps it up with the Super Lig?

Mujtahida:
I think the way soetanoreoluwa did it is okay.

grin oya forgiveness.
I remember Isaac Success had a good game against Real Madrid. Going to the EPL was a bad bad move. By now that guy for don be one of the full fledged members of SE I think.

Icon79:
Watching Kayode for Girona against Real Madrid. He's having a good game but nothing so spectacular really. I don't see him displacing anyone we already have in the Super Eagles.

Yes great idea. breaking it down for better readability, how about a video instead for those who scored?
Mujtahida:
I like the way you put this. It narrows the focus exclusively on him and it covers the important indices in a quick way

Joebie (no vex oo) you doing a great job with the whoscored.com postings but can you endeavour to do it like this? Just a suggestion sha. I guess it might be time wasting though.

yes you are right on that.
However, I don't rush to conclusions.
I don't take ANS seriously either.

Famocious:
There is no twitter handle with the name ' Shina Okeleji'

Twitter search of Shine Okeleji showed all kind of allegations and accusations by AllNigeriaoccer @Editor_ANS which I hardly take serious.

It's always cool to be cautious of what to believe from info we read online though.

Yes, quite controversial but a BBC journalist still.

soetanoreoluwa:
The guys is kind controversial... I was searching for people tweet about him but got Different stories about him since 2014 or so...

But he's a reputable Journalist though...

Thanks.
I did a little research and realized he changed his previous twitter handle.
Please search for Shina Okeleji on twitter and see what you'll find.
I want to be a little cautious still.

Many of my opinions on Tammy are purely based on critical reasoning

Whoscored Nigerian Championship Player of the Week | Sammy Ameobi

Reading 0-2 Middlesbrough

Anglo-Portuguese center back, Tiago Ilori started for Reading but was stretchered off as early as the 28th minute after he collided with teammate Liam Moore in a clash of heads. He was taken to hospital after the incident. However Ilori’s relative short time on the pitch worked to his favor as he was the top performer in terms of pass success rate. According to whoscored, he attempted 26 passes, and 25 of them were accurate.
+Stats Rating: 5.97

Sone Aluko’s time on the pitch was however not interrupted. Playing as Reading’s right attacking midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 formation, Aluko made the Top 5 in three whoscored categories, for total shots(2), 6.1% possession (72 touches), and 2 successful dribbles. Aluko took one of Reading’s three corner-kicks.
+Stats Rating: 6.39

Fulham 1-1 Bolton

Fulham's Sheyi Ojo is still out due to a dislocated shoulder. The Liverpool loanee is expected to remain sidelined for another 5 weeks.
+Stats Rating: N/A

Sammy Ameobi returned with another MOTM recognition, after only missing out of it in the previous round. Ameobi scored Bolton’s only goal putting them ahead on the 28th minute. He was right there on time to calm down a pull out from the rear. He cleverly evaded his markers who had caught up with him to slot the ball to the bottom right past a helpless Fulham goalie. Although he was dispossessed three times, Ameobi came out in top 5 in whoscored statistics for top tackles (3 ) and dribbles (3).

+Stats Rating: 8.10

Super Eagles hopeful, Derik Osede returned from injury to Bolton’s bench. Manager, Philip Parkinson, however, kept the former Real Madrid Casilas center back, out of action.
+Stats Rating: N/A

Cadiff 0-0 Milwall
Millwall's Fred Onyedinma was a late sub-in two minutes into extra time. The 20-year-old forward therefore got a default whoscored rating.
+Stats Rating: 6.0

Hull 2-3 Nottingham Forest

Ola Aina was again in charge of Hull's right-back department. The Super Eagles defender who is the leading right back in the Championship so far this season according to whoscored statistical rating, completed 36 accurate passes out of 41 to become the best player in pass success rate -- for those who put in a full shift. Aina, however, was dispossessed once, and committed two fouls.
+Stats Rating: 6.59

Fikayo Tomori remained in Hull's dugout for the entire period.
+Stats Rating: N/A

Birmingham 0-0 Aston Villa

Villa's Josh Onomah put in a full shift as a support striker. The England U21 midfielder who is said to be on the radar of Super Eagles coach, Genort Rohr, was cautioned on the 76th minute. He only made whoscored’s top 5 in the category of tackles, with a 100% success rate from 3 tackles attempted, and was dispossessed once.
+Stats Rating: 6.15

Burton 1-2 Ipswich
Dominic Iorfa spent the entire match duration in Ipswich’s bench.
+Stats Rating: N/A

Ipswich CM, Tom Adeyemi went missing again after his hamstring injury issue resurfaced. He had just returned from injury and was handed a starting place in the previous round.
+Stats Rating: N/A

Forgotten Super Eagles midfielder, Hope Akpan did not come off Burton’s bench once again.
+Stats Rating: N/A

QPR 2-1 Wolves
Super Eagles wannabe Nedum Onuoha has remained out due to a hamstring injury he picked up in September. He is expected to remain in the sidelines for another month or so.
+Stats Rating: N/A

Bright Osayi-Samuel was not listed by QPR for the second consecutive time. The 19-year-old midfielder featured last in their 1-1 draw with Sunderland on the 14th of October.
+Stats Rating: N/A

Bright Enobakhare was a 71th minute sub-in for Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 19-year-old managed 1 shot off target, and 5 accurate passes out of 6, for the considerable shot time he spent on the pitch. He was dispossessed once, and found wanting for offside twice, hence, did not improve on his whoscored default rating.
+Stats Rating: 6.0

Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Barnsley

Barnsley’s 19-year-old forward, Ike Ugbo did not get the nod to feature against Sheffield Wednesday. The Chelsea loanee remained in the bench for the entire duration of the encounter.
+Stats Rating: N/A

Thank you sir for your very kind words. I'm actually very passionate about this. But i'm sure many of us can even do better. It's just a process.
And I don't care about sharing all I know and how I do it. The way we all post stories on here has improved if we've noticed. So we actually learn from each other. While I cover the championship and a few others, others can cover other leagues. We are together in this, and we can make this thread even more powerful.

joseph1013:
I would say it's all about the credibility. There are stories from OGN that are credible, though not much. We just have to exercise discretion.

I especially like how Joebie has gone about it. And each one can adopt his style. Don't be carried away by the headlines, read the body of the articles. Are there quotes? If no, discard. If yes, are the quotes all from unnamed sources? If yes, it's mostly made up and should be discarded.

It's not just OGN, it applies to all news websites carrying Nigerian Football news.

Truth is that, in terms of sheer coverage of Nigerians in leagues around the world, Joebie's is better than most. And why not, the internet is there for all to monitor what happens all over the globe.

Even the analysis here can compete with any anywhere in the country.

yea I was speaking about the name owngoal. It's more like the saying, "shooting oneself in the foot"
And that's what they've been doing.

daveP:
The 1st time i took notice about them was the match vs tanzania or so, where thegoodjoe pointed out a false info by them on this thread. i still trust goal.com pass others even if they feature once in a while, but accurate.

Mr Joebie you actually might be right o concerning Tammy. Check out Shina Okeleji's Twitter handle. Even Jordan Ibe is set to declare as well.

I never thought about it like that. So true.
daveP:
Owngoal keeps scoring owngoals. They take credit for the real goal owners like Onyekuru. Make we free dem abeg. They're simply living up to their nomenclature.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 2:48pm On Oct 29, 2017
The point is if we have to blacklist every website that do what OGN is doing, we will find many of them in our black book. Just as joseph1013 rightly said, I think the right approach to follow is:

1. Look at the headline
2. Check if there are any quotes. If not, discard the story.
3. If there are quotes, but they are NOT credible or are from unknown sources, discard the story
4. Look to see if the headline conveys the idea of the credible quote(s). If it does, copy and post as it is. If it doesn't give it a new appropriate headline.
5. Make sure to always cite the source of the story.

I think these are easy steps that we can follow. It will guard us from getting swayed easily by every news story.

Oasis007:
Bro..... you are really doing good Jobs on the Thread, kinda don't think along the Line, rather help the Thread to quit helping OGN spreading fake News - Act NOW!
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 12:39pm On Oct 29, 2017
I have been thinking along the same line.

Oasis007:
I think owngoalnigeria News shouldn't be shared on this Thread any Longer, since majority agreed their Reports are misleading.

There are many Guests, and Admirers that solely rely on the Info on this Thread for the Updates on the Super Eagles.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:52am On Oct 29, 2017
lol they won't take it down. They have found a niche for themselves. They will always get hits doing what they do. They do it because they know it works.

Mujtahida:
I doubt if they are part of this thread. I know from where and how they got the 'letter'. And I've written to the person responsible advising him to take it down. It's damaging to Amunike's reputation because a comment on the comment section of a website can never be a letter. And therefore to say the young man begged Amunike and was refused is nothing but bareface lies

See why I had a second thought after condemning Amuneke?
Mujtahida:
The whole thing is too bad. First that wasn't even a letter but a comment posted in the comment section of Completesportsnigeria.com after their interview with Emmanuel Amunike in 2015. Now those owngoalnigeria.com guys went ahead without stating the correct fact that it was just a mere comment on the comment section of Completesportsnigeria.com and wrote the following headline on their own website as in owngoalnigeria.com's thus: Evidence - Bundessliga Teen star Deji Beyreuther begged Ex u17 coach Amunike to invite him in 2015.

Now that spurious but injurious headline and the warped article that followed it will go viral and do unspeakable damage to Amunike's reputation.
This, guys, is how our perceptions of certain individuals are formed from outright lies.
And this is why Joebie and I have cried ourselves hoarse concerning the damage those guys are doing. It's terrible.
