I think the only thing Musa got over Onyekuru is experience and goals he's scored for SE. Apart from that, in style of play, Onyekuru is a more effective Musa. And considering that Musa is finding it hard to get game time in his club, there is no justification for his inclusion in the team. He is simply hanging in there based on past glory and a WCQ assist. Just as Rohr did in the case of Musa Muhammed, he should be advised to make a move for playing time.

Mujtahida:
It's not on a lighter note ooo. Seriously there's strong contention especially from Onyekuru if he replicates his club form in the GWG for Musa's place. I really was Onyekuru to pose a serious stake for that RWF position so that Iwobi can move to the centre. Let Moses, Musa and Onyekuru battle it out for the RWF.

wonderful point.
Which is why i'm of the opinion that we need to build a relationship with them, so they will feel more Nigerian. So when their careers pick up,
it won't be awkward for us to give them a call up then.

Mujtahida:
Yes we need to catch them but at the same time we can't just indiscriminately call any player whether Naija born or foreign born. In fact with the foreign born we need to be even more circumspect because if we cap them under the idea of 'catch them young' and they turn out to be flops don't you think the British press for example would have a treat deriding us and making it difficult for others to make that choice? With Naija born such risk does not exist. This thing calls for some measure of discernment in being able to detect those who have great potential.

If we were a honest Nation, the NFF would have her own scouts but unfortunately we are not cos if dem create scouts now na wuru wuru players wey pay money go full our team.

Dele Ajiboye says he will grab Eagles chance with both hands, dreams return to Spain
By admin - October 30, 2017, 9:13 am170 0

The No 1 goalkeeper of champions Plateau United Dele Ajiboye has told SCORENigeria he will literally grab his chance with Super Eagles just as he revealed he will hope to return to Spain to continue his pro career.

Ajiboye could be presented his chance in next month’s matches against Algeria and Argentina after he has been part of the Eagles squad recently.

The former Shooting Stars shot stopper has represented Nigeria at U17, U20 and Olympic team levels and said he also hopes for his Super Eagles breakthrough.

“I will be delighted to be called up again as I am also looking for my opportunity to feature for the Super Eagles and I hope to grab it with both hands,” he told SCORENigeria

“I cannot wait to get my chance.

“My club have resumed full pre-season training and besides that I also do personal training in the evening.”

The 27-year-old ‘Aji-boy’ revealed that his other target is to return to Spain and continue his pro career after a short-lived stint there with lower league Pontevedra CF between 2009 and 2011.

“I would really love to return to Spain,” he said.

“I previously played in the lower league, but even then the standard was very high and it was my performance in Spain that earned me my call-up to the Olympic team.”

Rohr won’t pull off any surprises in 25-man Eagles squad, team off to Morocco Sunday – official
By admin - October 30, 2017, 9:53 am182 0

Gernot Rohr will not pick any player outside the pool of players he has been working with for next month’s matches against Algeria and Argentina and the team will begin training camp in Morocco on Sunday, officials have said.

Nigeria face Algeria in an inconsequential 2018 World Cup qualifier on November 10, before they take on Argentina in a friendly four days later in Russia.

Eagles spokesman Toyin Ibitoye disclosed the team’s training camp will open on Sunday in Casablanca, Morocco, and 25 players have been picked with two others placed on standby.

Ibitoye said there will no surprise call-ups by Rohr as he will work with the pool of players he has been working with over the months.

The squad will be made official today.

“We should not expect players who have not been in the pool of players the coach has worked with,”Ibitoye said.

“There will be 25 players called up with two others on standby.”

forgiveness:
It seems NFF are monitoring this lad. He has played all the matches for Lugo this season from start to finish and Lugo is currently topping the league.

Instead of people clamouring for Azuibike who is currently chopping bench in his club, I will rather go for Ramon Azeez. grin

with all due respect sir.. why are you trying to start something?

PurpleHouse:
Personally, I am beginning to have some disgustful feelings towards some folks here. I mean, com'on, how can you guys be clamouring for the recall of old men whose time have passed as far as the super eagles is concerned?

These young lads qualified us for the world cup without the services of Martins and the likes. I love martins, very much. But i feel we don't need him and his likes anymore. There were times when i would have campaigned for their recall myself, but those days are long gone. We don't need distractions at this stage when we are rebuilding. We have enough fire power to beat any team with determination and teamwork. So all the agents and paid ass lickers here (no offence), pls bury this idea of Martins and his likes. We are Re-building a solid team right now, we are not REPACKAGING old cargoes.

Thank you Opariliously!

Let me have my say as regards underperforming abroad-grown players.
The key word is underperforming. Calling them up to SE, will be discriminating against the home-grown that are performing.
What we need to do is engage them so they can feel more Nigerian. That's all, until they pick up their game.

Modified.
We should never be in the business of using the SE to raise the value of players, home-grown or not. Find a new club and perform.

La Liga: Uzoho out of Deportivo clash with Las Palmas
Fisayo DairoFisayo Dairo
October 29, 2017

https://www.aclsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/FB_IMG_1509296403181.jpg

Nigerian teenage goalkeeper Francis Uzoho will not take part in RC Deportivo’s Monday night clash with Las Palmas in the Spanish Primera Division, reports www.aclsports.com.

Uzoho had kept goal in Deportivo’s last two league games, a draw at Eibar followed by a loss to Girona last Monday – a result which culminated in the sack of manager Pepe Mel.

On the appointment of former Deportivo’s youth team coach Cristobal Parralo till the end of the season, the former Aspire Academy goalkeeper was dropped for the experienced Przemyslaw Tyton and Costel Pantilimon for their Copa Del Rey clash with UD Las Palmas last Thursday.

Both teams will go toe-to-toe once again on Monday night at Las Palmas’ Estadio de Gran Canaria in a league game and Uzoho has not been called up by Parralo for the game.

Eighteen players were called up by the manager on Sunday afternoon including the aforementioned goalkeeping duo, Tyton and Pantilimon as well as former Arsenal striker Lucas Perez.

Deportivo are still without striker Adrian Lopez who had a shoulder complication after the Girona game. The Coruna based side are placed 16th on the La Liga log with eight points, two ahead of Monday’s opponents Las Palmas who are in 18th with six points.

Icon79:
Exactly! All in all, I think Isaac's major problem is attitude. He had disciplinary issues but in La Liga and at Watford. I don't know what's wrong with that kid.

And by the way, Girona beat Real Madrid 2-1. It would've been 4-1 sef because Girona hits the bar twice, with the goalkeeper well beaten on each occasion. CR7 had a horrible game and even had the audacity to whine and yell at his team mates. Whomever voted that dude the best player in the world needs to have his head examined!
