I'm using Iwobi as an example because we have seen him in that state in the recent past.

There seems to some magogo in team selection.

If he is playing regularly or he is a bench warmer of bigger clubs that I can understand but calling Osimhen na arrange.

I have begining to understand how selection plays.

They call their preferred player even if na bench warmer and bring him to the National team to increace their stock while they ignore the inform players until their club throway dem because of lack of market value of the said player. The club expects you to be called to the national team to increase your stock and sell you for a big prize but no coach looks ya way hence the need to kick you out for a more valuable player.

I can mention plenty players in the National team that were nothing before their stock were raised as a result of being a National team player.

I see Omeruo starting at Rb. Rohr seems not to trust Shehu enough and he wouldn't want to make so many changes in the defence that played the last qualifiers.
I see just one change in Awaziem who is more or less a like for like replacement of Balogun. I read sometime ago in an interview Awaziem granted which he attested that Balogun have been a big influence on his game.

Etebor will likely play behind Iheanacho because he is more of a goal threat in such areas while Iwobi works from the flanks.

Impact subs could be Kayode Olarenwaju and Muzam. While Ogu subs in for to secure the match from the middle if we have a lead going into the last 10-5mins

here, class equates to talent simply innate ability.

For a player to be 'proven' he must have had some share numbers of professional football matches(appearances) under his belt-simple. Such player can be average, good or exceptional but he is alreaded tested and tried... So he is no longer a rookie(unproven).

Sir, a player with class will always have something to offer even if he is not in form. Don't forget being in form is playing at ur topmost level which makes an ordinary player look exceptional. Ighalo is an example. But class separates the men from boys anyday anytime.

Even the best sometimes loose form but yet it doesn't take away anything from them-they'll always be back so class is inbuilt.

But the question we need to ask is this:
What is the probability of a classic player loosing and gaining form? Or why do u think most coaches stick to this category of players no matter their present form.

Team building is continuous. Else Rohr would have focused only on our full backs for options. Besides the so called back up player is not meant as a replacement only when the starter is injured or absent. The regular starter may either drop in form or his inferior may become the superior. These things are not permanent.

If you are talking about backups that is exactly what the coaches have been arranging even with the French camp.

This Omeruo you guys are condemning is a serious back bone of that defense.

I am telling you that he is highly favored to start against SA hate him or love him. Awaziem has only recently proven that he is a good back up in the absence of our regular CBs.

Abdullahi Shehu is our best RB currently in the team. Take that to Aso Rock.

Victor Osimhen, Rohr has said is being groomed for the future. I respect that decision even though I don't completely buy it.

It won't kill him. It didn't kill Mikel. Playing Omeruo as a defensive midfielder didn't kill him..

I'm just saying as a coach I will experiment him there in training to see if he excels. I may want to start the trio of Onazi, Agu and Ndidi. Also, prepare for situations in future when players get injured in a tournament for example, and you don't have great options.

Every player untested have to be tested regardless of how good they are at club level. Their ability to imbibe the coach's playing philosophy and ease at which they can blend into the team is paramount. Hence we have friendlies and training camps. However, sometimes you have to start from somewhere like Rohr did. I remember Bryan Efe of spotkik mentioned luck as one of the reasons for Rohr's success. yes every coach need some amount of luck. Bryan Efe said our early opponents failed to exploit our weaknesses at the full back positions. That's one area if we dont fix well before Cameroon, we will be made to pay dearly. I've studied Cameroon, and noticed they like wing play and they come with power. The likes of Ebuehi have no business in that tie.

No I was just trying to highlight the aspect of chemistry between the CB pair. I will have to study both defenders more closely to know what roles they mostly play, and the duties they mostly perform, when paired against player A or player B. But again there is a high expectation for this pair to play for each other because they stand the closest in front of the goalie. Let's not also forget that there is the coach instruction factor. So of course, these defenders in question will have their strengths and weaknesses in terms of how well they can perform the various duties as instructed.

ok I think from instructional you pasted you are suggesting that ekong and omeruo are similar in style of play that is they are both 'stoppers' and awaziem who plays like a limited Defender or Central Defender is a better foil for ekong who is in better form than Kenneth. I see your point but I'm not yet sure awaziem is 100 percent ready. Ekong himself he's not that experienced to guide awaziem if he was partnered with Leon I would have no worries but anyway let's see how it goes
