"Technical. A technical player is a master of the techniques of the game (passing, trapping, shooting, dribbling, tackling the ball.) He has excellent touch, precise control, a fast work-rate of touches on the ball, and uses all sorts of body surfaces or edges."

Are you saying England kills this aspect in a player?
MODIFIED Also how would you rate current SE midfielders going by the above definition?
OMANBALA1: Again ,Iwobi started playing football in Nigeria. He was greatly influenced by our style. Ejaria is over hyped,he dribbles in circles without a clear vision....Kelechi Nwakali is way ahead of him. Most English players are technically deficient. I haven't seen Lookman play.
We see Muazam as a Manu Garba boy, together with the likes of Success, Ihenacho etc. If not for his injury he would have been Europe long. Then you won't be talking about the NPFL. Give credits to who it is really due. I'm still yet to see an outfield home based player that can prove he is deserving... Is Odey not on his way back to MFM? But Osimhen is still very much around. Rohr has ran the rule over both of them. The verdict is out.
BascoVanVeli: I hope Muazam making the team keeps the noise down about there not being talent in the NPFL. Big congratulations to Sikiru and Odey their time shall come.
Rohr past the test with fewer options. When we get to the World Cup proper we will start taking about him writing his name in gold.
Mujtahida: This Ebuehi guy I just personally want him to succeed as a player in our team. I felt bad that on his debut a goal was scored through him. I pray he succeeds.
The good thing with what is happening is that we are getting lot of options for various positions in the team. It would give depth and room for tactical manoeuvres. Now is the time for Rohr to write his name in gold in the annals of Nigerian football.
I only said its Ebuehi versus Omeruo. Who played right back against Senegal? Where you there also?
Tamunotonye22: I don't advice this.I personally was in the nest of champions when omeruo played right back, he is no natural right back why not give the position to Ebuehi.looks like everyone is afraid of testing our dutch "brought-up". I think he's added some flesh lately
One of the strong contenders for the FO title, Dominic Thiem of Austria advanced to the third round after overcoming Bolleli. The 6th seed beat the Italian in three straight sets.
Djokovic is also through. Djoko overcame Portuguese Joao Sousa in straights as well.
On resumption of the match abandoned yesterday due to inclement weather, Jo-Wilfred Tsonga joined a host of top seed players who made an early exit in the first round. Tsonga fell to Olivio 1 set to 3.
"Baby Federer" Grigor Dimitrov is also through to the next round. The World number 13 overcame Spaniard Tommy Robredo in straight sets.
PREGNANT SERENA ARRIVES AT ROLAND GARROS, WATCHES VENUS ROLL by: ED MCGROGAN | May 31, 2017 TAGS: FRENCH OPEN WTA GRAND SLAM , KURUMI NARA, SERENA WILLIAMS, VENUS WILLIAMS
The 36-year-old, now into the third round, expects to play Slams alongside Serena again.
On—and just off of—Court Philippe Chatrier, the Williams sisters demanded our attention on Wednesday. Venus, wearing a stylish number from her EleVen collection, ran through her second-round opponent, Kurumi Nara, 6-3, 6-1.
"I just tried to step it up," the 36-year-old told Tennis Channel's Jon Wertheim after the match. "She played some amazing games in the beginning—it was hard to get a ball past her. I was happy to kind of figure that out."
And then there was Serena—wearing a stylish outfit herself—taking it all in, with child on the way, from the sidelines:
The fashionably late 23-time Grand Slam singles champion arrived midway through the first set, causing a stir amongst the Parisian patrons. Venus knew she was coming, of course, but didn't realize it at the time.
"I never look up to my box that much," Venus said. "I did see her at some point, but I don't remember when it was.
"There was a lot of stuff going on, on the court—I was like, focus on what's here."
This year's French Open marks the first time in more than five years that Venus has competed in a major without Serena also in the draw. At Roland Garros, courtside support will have to suffice, but according to Venus, both Williams sisters want to resume tennis' greatest sister act at the Slams.
"Her plan is to be out there with me again," Venus said, "and my plan is to stay around a little bit."
Iwobi was groomed in England. Okay you are making a generalization. But the players in question are England-groomed Nigerians. We can focus on them. Does Lookman and Ejaria lack technical ability?
OMANBALA1: Iwobi started playing soccer in Nigeria before he moved to England and he was mostly influenced by Nigeria style of play which you can see when he handles the ball... The guy node play English boring police football. And remember, I never said all English players lack technical abilities.
OMANBALA1: I have given my observations and takes its left for the coach to decide who to play. If I was the coach I would not start Awaziem in a high profile qualifier like against Cameroon just yet.
its Ebeuhi vs Omeruo in RB. Awaziem replaces Balogun to partner Ekong
Most likely Echiejile versus Youssef.
adrainuche: Ebuehi is not starting in the RB position and Umeruo is not a very good CB... Awaziem has proved he is good enough to replace balogun, we will find out tomorrow i predict the defense is going to be..
lack tactical abilities They will follow their heart as usual. Correction, reason why England needs more of our boys.
OMANBALA1: Honestly,we have young stars who can easily best Ejaria. Let him follow his heart...I no kukuma like English groomed players, they mostly lack technical abilities. Reason why England hasn't been able to win common coffee cup in decades.
Osihmen is Rohr's untouchable. It's okay for a coach to see something special in a boy and want to keep him close to the team as much as possible.
komekn: One name that baffles me is Osimhen, he has not even been to camp and competed to justify inclusion.
He has played barely two games barely 10 minutes of football all season at a low level Wolfsburg that has just escaped relegation from the Bundesliga. He wasn't considered good enough for his team to start him or even play him over 45 minutes.
This can cause disaffection in the camp as thier is no justification beyond past glories. It has to be a level playing field. Even Isaac Success has better justification for selection than him.
There should be a clear an open modality for selection that is not the case here.
Zambia win 4-3. Goodbye Iyoha and Torunarigha. I want Zambia to win the cup. If England wins, the likes of Ejaria will think they made a good decision. So I'm praying for them to fail next. haha.. Lookman have a rethink.
Waiting for komekn to make a case for him as a support striker. What does he add to our play really? What are we missing in his absence?
Mujtahida: He's had too many opportunities to prove his mettle. That guy breaks hearts with the way he misses goals. In fact whenever any goal scoring opportunity comes his way I just automatically know he will miss it and the guy has never let me down yet.
Write me a paragraph about what you like about Ideye's contribution tactically. What does he bring to the table? I can equally make a case for Anthony Ujah. Ideye is not the kind of experience we need in the team.
I do not dispute what you are saying 28 games and 6 goals is not great. However, he does not play for Nigeria as out an out striker. So as a goal tally it is not that bad.
However, when he does play he makes a good positive contribution.
Considering his club form at what we can describe as top clubs not the creme de La creme of Europe but top league clubs in Europe he has done well. I mean 43 league games and 23 goals for Olympiacos is far from easy. That's why he got his big money bags move to China.
I do feel we are too quick to write off some of our ageing starts too quickly. Gyan for Ghana is still cutting it to some degree. I feel a better mixture of young and old would be better.
I do suspect that our NFF officials are trying to make arrangements and will impress upon Rohr options that are not to our best interest.
Consider Defoe who was written off by England and the EPL has just signed a £130k a week deal with Bournemouth and is back playing for the 3 Lions. Defoe is 2 years older than Obafemi 6 years older than Ideye and 6 years older than Efe Ambrose.
I see players in completely dead leagues being considered when our old guard tried, tested and some who are at top clubs are being ignored.
If you are not cutting it in your club with very limited exceptions like KC at City. You can't be invited to the SE.
Osimhen has played possible 10 minutes of football for lowly struggling Wolfsburg in two games and he is in the SE. That's simply not fair and sends a wrong signal when there are players who are cutting it week in and out for thier clubs.
You are the coach at the top, their coaches turn to for the template of deployment. Kwantinue
zoboizee: Most of our players that are skillful & pacy are always deployed to the wings once they move abroad. Regardless of their former position. While the ones that are either skillful or pacy end up defending. But if you are clinical & technical on the ball with the strength, then you get the number 9.
I think it is a perfect marriage. He loves Arsenal and Arsenal loves youth. Regular playing time at the onset is not guaranteed. But he will hit the ground running in his first season -- I'm confident.
Meanwhile, Kalu has new direct competition in Bonaventure.
I'm hoping Moses Simon's move to France materializes
Chrismario: I don't know y I'm little afraid about *our messi* going to Arsenal. I tink going to mid table team would av been more better.
Good move for Bonaventure Hop he lights Belgium very soon
Problem with Theologians is they they think they have more authority to speak and have the best interpretation of the Bible. All you need is personal Bible study and the helper, the Holy Spirit to make accurate application of the Bible. Just like the Scribes they were learned in Jesus's time but they fell short spiritually. The way of God is not the way of man. The Bible can be interpreted in ways that contradicts. Only our personal study of the Word and the help of the Holy Spirit can help us discern what is correct and incorrect in interpretation. Clerics can guide just as they can also misguide.
the
Triton1996: Rev Ogedengbe a renowned cleric and General Overseer of Overcomers Minitries Abule Egba Lagos in this interview x-rayed the anointing service saga between Lagos State Governor’s wife and the Chaplain of Christ The Light Church which belongs to the State. Question: Can we say the first lady Lady commiteed sacrilege during the particular anointing service as alleged by Pastor Adeyemi Ans: That is pure fallacy and totally unbiblical, she has committed no sacrilege niether did she commit any thing close to it. Do people know what sacrilege means? I am a theologian and i can authoritatively tell you that she has done nothing close to that. Did she desecrate the temple? Did she desecrate the altar of God? Did she bring anything abominable into the house of God? If she has done nothing of such, I think people who speak to the media should be mindful of the judgement they pass on others in the public. Question; So what is your own reaction to the whole crises sir? Ans, There is no crises anywhere, the government has the power to hire and fire, and that exactly is what the government has exercised in the sacking of Pator Taiwo. Besides, due process were followed, so I think it is just a question of employer to employee. Question: Is it proper for the government to sack on the basis of disrespect? Ans: I don’t think this is correct because i have known Mrs Bolanle Ambode for some time now and she epitomises decency, decorum and absolute humility to be sincere with you. She is not that kind of person that will take the things of God with levity and i know she wouldn’t have asked the govenment to sack the man, i know her that much. This is not the first time the issue of sacking will emanate in government house, the former governor of Lagos Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN) sacked one Pastor Adeleke for some reasons and nothing happened thereafter, no body raised alarm, that same government even sacked some islamic clerics, more than one occassion and nobody shouted, so what are we crying about. Question: It is believed that once you are in God’s house every one is equal, don’t you think she should have acted along this line? Ans: The Bible asks us to give honour to whom honour is due, this does not preclude men of God, and i think the first lady deserves respect from whoever it is that is ministering on that podium. The same measure of respect given to her husband whenever he comes around should also be accorded her, that i think is the fair thing to do. The holy book said so much about it. I think the whole thing is a plan from the pit of hell to embarrass the first family. I will appeal to body of Christ not to allow themselves to be used.
Nigerian Neymar Dennis Bonaventure Join Club Brugge
Highly rated 19 year old Nigerian forward Dennis Bonaventure has left Ukrainian side Zorya for Belgium giants Club Brugge, the club has announced.
According to a statement on the website of Club Brugge, the forward signed a four year deal at the Jan Breydel Stadium, with former Brugge fans favourite Sergiy Serebrennikov describing him as one of the best players in the Ukraine league.
” He has quickly evolved and showed himself among the best players in the Ukrainian championship this season”, he told the official website of Club Brugge.
Nicknamed “Nigerian Neymar” the Abuja Football Academy graduate had a breakthrough season with Zorya where he played in all of the competitions they were involved in including the Europa League, playing in both legs of their clash against Manchester United.
He made 22 appearances and scored six goals last season for Zorya from his position as a wing forward in what was his first full season as a professional footballer after his move to Europe two seasons ago. Daniel Martins
When a player says his dream is to play for Arsenal, and gives a "come get me" account of himself. I'm not done yet. Then he gets his wish. #Epic This is the top move of the decade by a Nigerian IMO
I don't know if Rohr will be sticking to our usual 4-2-3-1 going forward. But if we based our argument on a specific formation we will have a more concrete discussion.
OMANBALA1: I am not saying Onazi has been displaced but he is sitting on a thin ice. As it stands now neither Ndidi nor Karo can be benched ...Ndidi is shooting for world class while Karo the workhorse don't seem to be stopping anytime soon ,which will make Onazi the weakest link while Agu lurks around for a slip. I like Onazi fighting spirit, he reminds me of Olofinjana with better ball sense but Onazi is not a baller. After that performance against Argentina at the last world cup before he got injured Onazi has never remained the same. Dude, took a dip in form. And this doesn't only apply to Onazi,Omeruo needs to sit up,Musa has already been relegated to the bench and Echiejile might not be lucky for too long...hehe. And if Iwobi can anchor that attacking midfield role then Mike might not be so safe....hehe . I don talk my own ooo
