I need to watch this Tim guy first.

Getting them early increases our talent pool. Doesn’t guarantee they will eventually come good.

komekn:
They may or they may not, but for now Tim Iroegbunam is warming bench and he cannot displace Douglas Luiz.

On #1, what an irony as Nigeria has depth in the striker position. Awoniyi’s absence is due to injury. Hopefully Moffi makes it as Iheanacho’s situation is uncertain. I would have preferred Onuachu to Sadiq.

2. You don't need an Okocha in this team. You need a player with steel who’s ball carrying is premium regardless of position of play. Think Amokachi, Victor Moses. An excellent ball holder with some pristine play-making and passing abilities, we have in Kelechi Nwakali (who unfortunately missed out). However, Iwobi is the man we must hope does not get an injury or is sent out, else we are finished

Also, Alhassan’s tacking/pressing (something Onyeka already offers), but Alhassan is a creator as well. I hope Alhassan is standby for Ndidi

3. Onyedika, unfortunately, is the only true DM option as it stands.

4. We have no LB issues. Aina can also do a job there. Bassey as well if need be.

5. The players always knew the mission with Peseiro giving an ultimatum to go all the way to the final.

Super Eagles' 25-man Africa Cup of Nations squad: Five biggest issues facing Peseiro highlighted

https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=49945

While Nigeria's 25-man AFCON roster contains proven talents, a closer inspection reveals key deficiencies that could derail their lofty title hopes. There exist pressing questions for manager Jose Peseiro to address.

In attack, over-dependence on Victor Osimhen's scoring threatens to blunt Nigeria if injuries hit.

None of Iheanacho, Umar or Boniface offer a tested Plan B at the No 9. Additionally, the squad lacks a creative spark like an Okocha-style classic playmaker to provide incisive chances.

An injury to Wilfred Ndidi at the defensive midfield during the course of the tournament may risk exposure given his world class protection. Without cover for Ndidi, issues emerge over who shields the unconvincing centre-back options.

Out wide also brings issues over the left back role in particular. Neither Zaidu or Aina convince currently at filling the problem position, with Bruno Onyemaechi yet to convince the coach on reasons why he should be considered for a starting berth.

This leaves an obvious weak link other teams could exploit.

Furthermore, for a young side , the pressure and expectations appear uncomfortably high. For a squad with few big-tournament stars, the weight of seeking Nigeria's 4th AFCON crown may crush confidence.

Here are 5 potential weaknesses in Nigeria's 25-man AFCON squad:

1. Over-reliance on Osimhen for goals: While Victor Osimhen has been prolific for Napoli, he has struggled with injuries.

If he gets hurt or has a dip in form, Nigeria lacks a proven Plan B at striker with the likes of Umar and Boniface still trying to establish themselves.

2. Imbalanced midfield mix: Despite naming 5 midfielders, there is a lack of a real creative playmaker to unlock defenses.

Onyedika, Aribo and Onyeka offer good all-round play but none possess the incisive passing of an Okocha-type No 10 that Nigeria has lacked.

3. Missing defensive midfield depth: Wilfred Ndidi is world-class as the lone defensive midfielder shielding the backline. But without a proper backup holding midfielder, his absence could expose the defense badly.

4. Left back concerns: The left-back role looks shaky, with Zaidu Sanusi currently out of form, Aina being an unnatural fit and Bruno Onyemaechi yet to impress the manager. This could be targeted as an area of weakness by opponents.

5. Heavy expectations: As one of the continent's superpowers, Nigeria will be expected to challenge for the title. For a squad low on real match-winners, this pressure could overwhelm a young, developing side.

Uzoho can do a job on a good day. But since his weaknesses are known, he is a liability — something waiting to happen.

This is how Jpes could have set up his frontline . Who noticed Moffi has been playing at the right side of attack in the later games with Nice. And has scored 3 times listed as a right forward. However he opted for Sadiq the sharpshooter with 2 goals.

The problem with Uzoho is opponents will try to exploit his weak points. We’ve seen this again and again. Besides that he can do a job. But his weak points are well studied. This makes teams confident against us.

dijon:
I have no confidence in that chap. He is a big No for me. If that stubborn coach play Uzoho in goal, we will lose the three group stage matches.
I pray this will not be an embarrassing and disgraceful Afcon for Nigeria....am really apprensive cos of Uzoho and JP. The two will decide how the Afcon turns out for Nigeria. He stubbornly be in bed with Uzoho den sope Afcon OTILOR.

problem is Uzoho can pull nice saves.. but concedes stupid goals. Nwabali, may be a matter of experience.

Dont really think it will be worse than Uzoho practically throwing an aimless cross into his own net or allowing a very weak 35m shot go under him into his net. Uzoho is a very wack goal keeper.

Peseiro is playing safe with the players he knows. Uzoho will be at the posts

Kog45:
I don't know how Keshi got Mba and Oboboana and confident he got to introduce them into the starting line up in Afcon but at the end it paid off.It was after he introduce Mba and bench Nosa Igiebor that we have balance team, also introduction of Ogenyi Onazi instead of Fegor Ogude gave Mikel and Victor Moses ability to flourish.

I will not deceive you there is no way NPFL players will make Peseiro team cuz he doesn't monitor the league due to what we have in abroad and I will not blame him for sticking to foreign based players.

My major issue with him is goalkeeping dept.and good that he is having Nwabili who I still believe is not better than Christian Nwoke....well at the end we are having NPFL Olorunleke Ojo in the team who is not rated in the top five in NPFL.

The team is good to go if he gets his tactics right.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:19am On Dec 31, 2023
I don’t agree to just picking players from the NPFL to make up the slot.

Let’s assume Sikiru Alimi is the best player in the NPFL, does that mean he should make the list?

If there are any areas that need enforcement in today’s SE, it has to be in CB, midfield (specific roles) and GK departments. That said, whoever we are looking at in the NPFL needs to have the goods and show they are not only at least as good as what we already have, but are bringing something lacking in that department. Else, you are just picking players just to make local players not feel they are being ignored or for other crazy reasons. The only goal here should be to win the AFCON.

MetalJigsaw:
Picking one or two best players from the NPFL can't be a bad decision no matter how you paint it.

You dare wave off Mba and Oboabona's exploit making history while the so called stars have been struggling against minor teams.

A good number of our legends, as a matter of fact, were unearted from the same NPFL and that is a big statement. The Nigerian league is a near execrable one, but for the records same can and should never be implied of its potentials in producing individual talents.

Hahahaha

komekn:
I disagree and agree.

The dynamics of relationships in Nigeria are dramatically different from the west. It's difficult to be brief I'll try.

In Nigeria unfortunately through decades of failed leadership. The larger percentile of Nigerian are fighting sorry dying to get the basics in life. Shelter, ,food , electricity and basic healthcare. People can almost spend their entire working life time just trying to get the basics.

As a consequence, women in Nigeria see you primarily in the context of PROVISION , can you provide, the basics❓. They may not even like you, talk less of LOVE ❤️ you. Your character, personality and physicality (who 6 pack Elp), irrelevant largely in comparison to the quest for PROVISION.

The next question ❓ what is the NIGERIAN 🇳🇬 woman prepared to do, huh to get the provision long and short term. This is the grave danger and minefield of pain and tribulation.

The proviso here , is I am taking in general terms not specifics , there will always be exceptions.

In the west in general, the basics have already been met ,even if you are not working. So women are way more preoccupied with character, physicality, personality, this is where there compassionate passionate attraction will be anchored ⚓ upon predominantly.

You wil find most women are independent not dependent, have Thier own house, car, decent career, money, etc. They have gone way beyond the basics of life.

If it all goes south and the relationship goes sour and breaks down acrimonusly. The retribution of a western women will be settled in court and depending on what pre nuptials were signed and contributions made she could get a sizeable portion of your. Western women includes Nigerian women born and brought up in the west.

On the other hand if things go south and the relationship breaks down acrimonously. The bitter retribution of a Nigerian women are multifaceted and bloody.

The court will not be a first resort, it may be ignored completely as a tool for retribution in Nigeria. But there are many other options she may take;

1. Poison you
2. Turn you into vegetable ( JuJu at work)
3. Arrange assassin, wipe you off the earth.
4. Use Baba to do a plethora bitter wicked things against you.
5. Give your hell night and day.
6. Abuse and denigration ( 9ja woman abuse u 🤔)
7.Cause discord in the family ( knack all close relatives)
8. Sell your house, land, empty your account, etc
9.Commit paternity fraud against you ( substantiated fact Nigeria has the highest rate of paternity fraud 🤥 in the world 🌎)
10. Collect residency make false claims against you so you are deported and she claims your entire assets. ( She can claim you sexually abused your own children) in this case you are finished
11. Please feel free to add more.

Apologies for deviation.

Do you think it's still safer to marry Mary from your place ❓❓❓😱
